非线性一维光子晶体波导光双稳   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
利用非线性折射率系数较大且非线性时间响应较快的CdSxSe1-x玻璃为材料,设计并制备了非线性一维光子晶体波导光双稳器件,该器件的折射率空间分布呈正弦形式。实验测得双稳开关的阈值功率密度为1.60×105W/cm2,开关时间为63ps。采用时域有限差分方法讨论了光子晶体带隙随入射光强变化而移动的情况,随着入射光功率密度的增加,光子晶体的带隙中心向短波方向移动。同时计算了该器件的双稳特性,理论计算得到双稳开关的阈值功率密度为1.40×105W/cm2,开关时间约为50ps。获得了理论与实验基本一致的结果。  相似文献

采用传输矩阵的方法,严格导出一维具有克尔非线性缺陷的光子晶体的局域模频率方程。局域模频率依赖于局域光强。取负克尔系数时,随着局域光强的增加,局域模频率从下带边出现,在带隙间上升,最后消失在上带边。在给定人射光频率下,随着人射光强的变化,系统呈现出双稳态。这种光学稳态性质则由局域模频率的移动引起的。  相似文献

The optical properties of a one-dimensional (1D) photonic heterostructure with graded-index nonlinear materials are demonstrated theoretically. The influence of the gradation profile of the graded-index nonlinear layers on the linear and nonlinear responses of the structure are analysed. It is shown that the Q-factor of the defect mode and the threshold input intensity to achieve the optical bistability in the used photonic heterostructure depend on the gradation profile of the graded-index nonlinear layers.  相似文献

Transmission characteristics of nonlinear one dimensional photonic crystal with a defect have been studied. GaAs/Si multilayer structure with a single defect has been simulated using transfer matrix method. In this study refractive indices of both layers have been taken to be dependent on intensity and wavelength simultaneously. It is found that central wavelength of defect mode change with intensity of wave. Average change in central wavelength of defect mode is 0.02 nm/(1 GW/cm2). This property can be exploited in the design of a single channel tunable wavelength division demultiplexer for optical communication.  相似文献

Using the transfer matrix method, we study the transmission property of one-dimensional photonic band gap structure with two coupled nonlinear defects separated by a linear middle layer and find that such composite structure exhibits a bistability that’s strongly dependent of the linear middle layer. The switching threshold values can be greatly reduced just by choosing the proper parameters of the linear middle layer.  相似文献

研究了一维Bragg微腔中的光学增强效应,并对F-P腔中Kerr介质的双稳态特性进行了理论分析,并得到相应的数学表达式.研究表明,对聚焦型Kerr介质(χ(3)>0),要产生双稳态特性必须给入射光波预置一定的红移量,若是散焦型介质(χ(3)<0)则要预置一定的蓝移量.红移量(或蓝移量)的临界值与光子晶体的介质折射率、周期数、F-P腔长度、缺陷模的线宽(FWHM)等因素密切相关,它随介质折射率比、周期数、F-P腔长的增大而减小,随缺陷模的线形变窄而降低.要有效地降低非线性介质的双稳态开关阈值,除了尽可能选择较小的合适红移(或蓝移)量外,还要选择|χ(3)|较大的Kerr介质以增强腔内的非线性光学效应.  相似文献

We consider a model for a one-dimensional photonic crystal formed by a succession of nonlinear Kerr-type equidistant spaceless interfaces immersed in a linear medium. We calculate analytically the band structure of this system as a function of the incident wave intensity, and find two main tendencies: the appearance of prohibited bands, and the separation and narrowing of these bands. We consider as well a finite version of this photonic crystal for a limited number of alternating linear and non linear set of stacks for which we calculate reflectance as a function of the electromagnetic wave intensity, band index and number of periods. A system with these features can be constructed by alternating very thin slabs of a nonlinear soft matter material with thicker solid films, which can be used to design a device to control light propagation for specific wavelength intervals and light intensities of the same propagating signal.  相似文献

利用光学传输矩阵法研究了一维光子晶体谐振腔的谐振波长、品质因子和缺陷层厚度之间的变化关系,发现谐振腔内存在不同级次的谐振模式;对于同一级次的谐振模式,品质因子在某一波长(λm)时达到极大值,该波长恰为光子晶体反射率最高处所对应的波长,也是该光子晶体的布拉格共振反射波长;在λm处,品质因子随级次的增加而线性增加;品质因子随周期层数增加而指数增加,但其增长因子与模式级次无关,也与周期数无关,只与谐振波长有关;对于所有级次的谐振模式,增长因子在λm处达到最大值。这对提高品质因子、减小谐振腔体积、优化谐振腔有重要意义。  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the conditions to obtain the enhancement of second harmonic generation in a two-dimensional circular photonic crystal AlGaAs cavity. The photonic crystal circular cavity offers the possibility of having high-Q resonance modes with respect to those obtained with other types of photonic crystal lattices. The crystallographic cut of the AlGaAs provides a strong nonlinear coupling between a transverse-magnetic (TM) polarized resonant mode at the fundamental wavelength and a transverse-electric (TE) polarized resonant mode at second harmonic wavelength. The double resonance condition leads to a strong improvement of the second harmonic generation process. A preliminary linear analysis has been performed by using the finite-difference time-domain method, which includes the dispersive response of the material, modeled using the well-known one-pole pair Lorentzian function.  相似文献

We study numerically the temporal and spatial dynamics of light in Bragg gratings in highly nonlinear photonic crystal fibre for a CW input signal. Our numerical model is based on the plane wave mode solver and a set of nonlinear coupled-mode equations which we solve using a variation of implicit fourth order Runge-Kutta method. We observe not only bistability of the intensity versus transmitted and reflected light but also complex dynamics. We demonstrate that for values of input intensity above the bistable region the steady state may undergo a supercritical Hopf bifurcation. For some ranges of the input intensity we also observe a coexistence of two periodic attractors. The dynamics found, in particular the features in the bifurcation diagram, strongly depend on the parameters of the fibre. Consequently, we suggest that by proper design of the photonic crystal in the cladding we can adjust such nonlinear features of the Bragg gratings as the width of the bistable region, the intensity at which the bifurcation occurs and also the characteristics of the dynamics at high values of input intensity.  相似文献

理论研究了648nm激光抽运掺Tm晶体的可见与红外发光转换和发光双稳特性.根据系统的耦合速率方程理论,推导了发光转换阈值的解析表达式,数值研究了Tm3+能级布居数,辐射光谱以及发光强度等随抽运光强的变化.数值结果表明,648nm激光抽运下可以实现452/469nm蓝光与1716 nm红外光谱的发光转换.在光子雪崩阈值附近,可以观察到掺Tm晶体的辐射光谱双稳,荧光色度双稳和发光强度双稳等现象.利用掺Tm晶体的可见与红外发光转换与双稳特性,可以实现抽运功率控制的全固态发光转换器和双稳波长 关键词: 光学双稳 多色开关 掺Tm晶体 光子雪崩  相似文献

We study the magneto-optic (MO) Faraday rotation in a two-dimensional square-lattice photonic crystal with a central MO defect layer in the optical wavelength range. We show that when a TM plane wave is incident upon a photonic crystal, an enhancement of Faraday rotation takes place in a region where a resonance peak appears in the photonic bandgap. 研究了含Kerr非线性的一维光子晶体中的类孤子。计算了光子晶体中加入Kerr非线性材料后,类孤子和入射光强、Kerr系数以及线性势阱的关系。随着线性势阱的降低,对应于在线性带隙中开始出现类孤子本征模所需要的最小入射强度也降低,即降低了非线性阈值;尽管非线性是产生类孤子的根本原因,但非线性系数对产生类孤子及孤子环中环的影响不如线性势阱高度的影响显著。  相似文献

为了实现结构紧凑、高透射率的解波分复用功能,在二维三角晶格光子晶体平板上设计了一个ψ形的三通道解波分复用器.通过在该光子晶体结构中引入合适的线缺陷和点缺陷,使得在光子禁带中出现了局域缺陷态.利用该缺陷态模式,可以控制波的传播和耦合,从而实现解波分复用的功能.通过用平面波扩展法和时域有限差分法对此解波分复用器进行了能带和传输特性分析,找到了具有合适缺陷态频率的光子晶体结构参量,实现了透过率高达80%的解波分复用功能.  相似文献

从理论及数值上研究了左手材料与传统非线性材料界面处的电磁波性质。发现在界面处出现一种新的现象——光学双稳态。入射光强、入射角以及左手材料与非线性材料的磁导率比值强烈的影响光学双稳态的行为。比较了不同的电磁模式对双稳态行为的影响。结果表明在相同的参数下,TE模式比TM模式更容易获得光学双稳态。  相似文献

研究了向列相液晶缺陷TiO2和SiO2交替的光学多层膜一维光子晶体透射谱偏振敏感特性。外电压下透射光谱测试和模拟结果显示,对于平行取向的向列相液晶,当自然光垂直入射时,禁带中两处出现e(TE模式)光和o光(TM模式)透射峰,具有偏振敏感性。随着电压增大,e光透射峰蓝移与o光透射峰合二为一,光谱可调谐范围分别为31和34nm;而对于取向混乱的向列相液晶,禁带中两处出现独立的透射峰,无偏振敏感性。随着电压增大峰位也蓝移,光谱可调谐范围分别为64和15nm。通过混乱取向液晶分子,可以使o光和e光有效折射率值相等,获得偏振不敏感特性。  相似文献
