We investigate the possibility to acquire information of nuclear generalized parton distribution (GPD) H by studying the deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) off several nuclear targets at the HERMES group (Hadron Electron Ring Accelerator Measurement of Spin). Two different models are used and developed to demonstrate the leading asymmetry amplitude.A^sinФ LU for coherent-enriched and incoherent-enriched parts with both statistical and systematic uncertainties estimated. It is found that a clear enhancement of ratio of nuclear asymmetry A ^AsinФ to free proton asymmetry A^H,sinФ LU in the coherent-enriched region is expected by both models, and a decrease of the ratio in incoherent-enriched region; both give the information about nuclear modifications. It is also possible to distinguish between those two models even under the limited statistics.  相似文献

We have developed a fitting code based on the leading-twist handbag Deep Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) amplitude in order to extract Generalized Parton Distribution (GPD) information from DVCS observables in the valence region. In a first stage, with simulations and pseudo-data, we show that the full GPD information can be recovered from experimental data if enough observables are measured. If only some of these observables are measured, valuable information can still be extracted, with certain observables being particularly sensitive to certain GPDs. In a second stage, we make a practical application of this code to the recent DVCS Jefferson Lab Hall-A data from which we can extract numerical constraints for the two H GPD Compton form factors. The kinematical corrections to the structure function of the nucleon in the nucleus due to the boundness and motion of nucleons arise from the excitation of the doorway states for one-nucleon transfer reactions in the deep inelastic scattering on nuclei.  相似文献

We use the relation between Structure Functions (SFs) of nuclei A and nucleons N in order to fomulate a criterion which isolates the QE part out of the total inclusive cross-section. From data points around the QEP we extract the reduced neutron magnetic form factor 〈α n = G M n/μ n G d〉. The latter shows an unexpected decrease up to Q 2 = 10GeV^2, the largest measured.  相似文献

New results on the longitudinal inclusive spin asymmetry A 1 d in the range 1 < Q 2 < 100(GeV/c)^2 and 0.004 < x < 0.7 are presented. From these results we derive the spin-dependent structure function g 1 d which we use to evaluate the scale-invariant flavor-singlet axial charge . The contribution of the measured region is evaluated by a QCD fit of the world data. The data were obtained by the COMPASS experiment at CERN using a 160GeV polarized muon beam scattered off a large double-cell polarized 6LiD target. The results are in agreement with those from previous experiments and improve considerably the statistical accuracy in the region x < 0.03.  相似文献

The single-spin asymmetries for a longitudinally polarized lepton beam or a longitudinally polarized nucleon target in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering are twist-3 observables. We study these asymmetries in a simple diquark spectator model of the nucleon. Analogous to the case of transverse target polarization, non-vanishing asymmetries are generated by gluon exchange between the struck quark and the target system. It is pointed out that the coupling of the virtual photon to the diquark is needed in order to preserve electromagnetic gauge invariance at the twist-3 level. The calculation indicates that previous analyses of these observables are incomplete.  相似文献

An explicit model realizing parton-hadron duality and fitting the data is suggested. Complex nonlinear Regge trajectories are important ingredients of the model. The inclusion of Δ and N* trajectories should account for all resonances in the direct channel. The exotic trajectory is responsible for the smooth background. Recent data on the electroproduction of hadrons on nuclei are discussed. The effects of the nuclear absorption are investigated using the Lund model for the electroproduction on nucleons. A simple geometrical model with a minimal number of assumptions and free parameters is shown to describe the data reasonably well.  相似文献

We study coherent and incoherent φ-meson photoproduction from nuclei. The available data are analyzed in terms of single- and coupled-channel photoproduction. It is found that the data on coherent photoproduction can be well reproduced within a single-channel optical model and show only little room for ω-φ mixing. These data indicate a normal distortion of the φ-meson in nuclei, which is compatible with the results obtained through the vector meson dominance model. The data on incoherent φ-meson photoproduction show an anomalous A-dependence resulting in a very strong φ-meson distortion. These data can be explained by a coupled-channel effect through the dominant contribution from the ω↦φ or the π↦φ transition or, more speculative, through the excitation of a cryptoexotic B φ-baryon.  相似文献

By using the quark-exchange formalism, the realistic Faddeev wave function and the Fermi motion effect, we investigate the deep inelastic electron scattering from A = 3 mirror nuclei in the deep-valence region. The initial valence quark input is taken from the GRV's (Glück, Reya and Vogt) fitting procedure and the next-to-leading-order QCD evolution on F2p(x, Q2) which gives a very good fit to the available data in the (x, Q2)-plane. It is shown that the free neutron to proton structure functions ratio can be extracted from the corresponding EMC ratios for 3He and 3H mirror nuclei by using the self-consistent iteration procedure and the results are in good agreement with the other theoretical models as well as the present available experimental data and especially the projected data expected from the proposed 11GeV Jefferson Laboratory in the near future.  相似文献

A novel nuclear effect on the flavour asymmetry of anti-quarks in the nucleon bound in a nucleus is discussed in terms of the meson cloud model and the Pauli exclusion principle. It is expected that the flavour asymmetry is enhanced in a nucleus. Received: 25 October 2001 / Accepted: 6 November 2001  相似文献

Bloom-Gilman quark-hadron duality of nuclear spin structure function is studied by comparing the integral of g1 from perturbative QCD prediction in the scaling region to the moment of g1 in the resonance region. The spin structure function in the resonance region is estimated by the parametrization forms of non-resonance background and of resonance contributions. The uncertainties of our calculations due to those parametrization forms are discussed. Moreover, the effect of the (1232)-resonance in the first resonance region and the role of the resonances in the second resonance region are explicitly shown. Elastic peak contribution to the duality is also analyzed.  相似文献

An approach is proposed to calculate Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) in a Constituent Quark Model (CQM) scenario. These off-diagonal distributions are obtained from momentum space wave functions to be evaluated in a given non-relativistic or relativized CQM. The general relations linking the twist-two GPDs to the form factors and to the leading-twist quark densities are consistently recovered from our expressions. Results for the leading twist, unpolarized GPD, H, in a simple harmonic-oscillator model, as well as in the Isgur and Karl model, are shown to have the general behavior found in previous estimates. NLO evolution of the obtained distributions, from the low-momentum scale of the model up to the experimental one, is also shown. Further applications of the proposed formalism are addressed. We summarize the results of a recent global analysis of proton and deuteron F2 structure function world data performed over a large range of kinematics, including recent measurements done at JLab with the CLAS detector. From these data the lowest moments (n≤10) of the unpolarized structure functions are determined with good statistics and systematics. The Q2 evolution of the extracted moments is analyzed in terms of an OPE-based twist expansion, taking into account soft-gluon effects at large x. A clean separation among the leading- and higher-twist terms is achieved. By combining proton and deuteron measurements the lowest moments of the neutron F2 structure function are determined and its leading-twist term is extracted. Particular attention is paid to nuclear effects in the deuteron, which become increasingly important for the higher moments. Our results for the non-singlet, isovector (p-n) combination of the leading-twist moments are used to test recent lattice simulations. We also determine the lowest few moments of the higher-twist contributions, and find these to be approximately isospin independent, suggesting the possible dominance of ud correlations over uu and dd in the nucleon.  相似文献

The most recent determinations of the gluon polarization in the nucleon, , obtained at RHIC and COMPASS experiments, are reviewed. The former accesses the gluon polarization mainly through the production of neutral pions (PHENIX) or jets (STAR) in polarized proton collisions. The latter uses the photon-gluon fusion in polarized lepton-nucleon scattering, tagged either by open charm or high-pT hadrons production. All the results are in good agreement, and favour values of ΔG roughly between 0 and 0.5 at a few (GeV/c)2 , thus in contradiction with what could be derived from the Ellis-Jaffe sum rule and the axial anomaly. Much stronger constraints will be obtained in a near future by both programs, helping us to clarify the role of gluons in the nucleon spin.  相似文献

We explore the relationship between exclusive and inclusive electromagnetic scattering from the pion, focusing on the transition region at intermediate Q2. Combining Drell-Yan data on the leading twist quark distribution in the pion with a model for the resonance region at large x, we calculate QCD moments of the pion structure function over a range of Q2, and quantify the role of higher twist corrections. Using a parameterization of the pion elastic form factor and phenomenological models for the π↦ρ transition form factor, we further test the extent to which local duality may be valid for the pion. We evaluate three meson doorway mechanisms for nucleon-antinucleon annihilation at rest for the first time. Detailed results are presented for the final state φπ0 originating from the 3S1 initial state and for the φρ channel originating from 1S0. The results presented also include the improved contributions from two meson doorway states and from the tree diagrams. For all the channels considered a consistent explanation of large and small OZI violations emerges. Received: 22 December 1999  相似文献
