A novel common-path polarization modulation and amplitude-sensitive optical heterodyne polarimeter is setup in order to characterize a phase retardation plate (PRP) in real time. The phase retardation ΔΦ and fast-axis angle β of the linear birefringence parameters (LBP) of a PRP are measured simultaneously. Meanwhile, the dynamic ranges of 0° < ΔΦ < 180° and 0° < β < 180° are demonstrated experimentally. In order to measure LBP in real time, a polarization modulation is introduced by continuously rotating the tested PRP such that ΔΦ and β are able to be obtained in terms of the ratio of the amplitudes of S polarization and the ratio of P polarization of the heterodyne signals, respectively. Consequently, this novel method, which combines optical heterodyne interferometry with a polarization modulation technique, not only improves the detection sensitivity, but also provides a real time capability to measure LBP. In addition, the error in the LBP measurement is derived and analyzed.  相似文献

The polarization parameters of optical radar signals, which are characterized by parameters resulting from entropy of partially polarized light waves, are discussed. It is shown that the properties of the signal can be represented by a factor which is a ratio of entropies, and by two parameters of the polarization ellipse. The TUS experiment is aimed to study the energy spectrum and arrival direction of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays at E ∼ 100 EeV from the space orbit by measuring the fluorescence radiation of the Extensive Atmospheric Shower in the atmosphere. It is the first orbital telescope aimed for such measurements and is taking data since April 28, 2016. During the first turns of operation ∼20% PMTs were broken due to the HV tuning system failure. For the same reason, the properties of the remaining PMTs are changed. Relative calibration of PMT gains in flight was done and presented based on analyzing TUS background data itself. A reconstruction of EAS arrival directions is done using the relative calibration coefficients.

The possibility of testing a surface damaged layer and the cleaning quality of precision optical surfaces using the monochromatic ellipsometry method is discussed. The results of ellipsometric measurements of the thickness homogeneity of nanofilms deposited by the ion-beam sputtering method are analyzed. The results of calculations of the film thicknesses and parameters of surface layers performed by solving an inverse ellipsometric problem are presented. A novel reflectometer based on Michelson interference is proposed and used to measure various optical parameters of homogeneous multilayer optical waveguides. 为满足机载光电系统的成像作用距离要求,对机载光学整流罩以及扫描反射镜的设计尺寸进行了理论仿真分析计算,并对研制的样机进行了试验研究。以实例形式给出了整流罩设计的作用距离与相关参量的计算结果,讨论了整流罩扫描系统的渐晕大小。装备该整流罩系统的样机,在近万米高空对音速某战机的红外长波扫描搜索距离可达到86 km,红外中波跟踪达到180 km,激光测距达到47 km。结果表明:根据探测作用距离理论模型分析计算,研制的机载光学整流罩及扫描反射镜光学系统达到了设计要求。  相似文献

The dominant hurdle to the operation of optomechanical systems in the quantum regime is the coupling of the vibrating element to a thermal reservoir via mechanical supports. Here we propose a scheme that uses an optical spring to replace the mechanical support. We show that the resolved-sideband regime of cooling can be reached in a configuration using a high-reflectivity disk mirror held by an optical tweezer as one of the end mirrors of a Fabry-Perot cavity. We find a final phonon occupation number of the trapped mirror n=0.56 for reasonable parameters, the limit being set by our approximations, and not any fundamental physics. This demonstrates the promise of dielectric disks attached to optical springs for the observation of quantum effects in macroscopic objects.  相似文献

介绍了一种确定抛物面反射镜光轴的新方法。当抛物面反射镜绕着机械旋转轴旋转时,利用2束平行光(一束与机械旋转轴平行的光和一束与机械旋转轴成一定角度的斜平行光)经抛物面反射镜反射的像点运动,调整抛物面反射镜的位置,使光轴与机械旋转轴重合。理论分析结果表明:其定轴的倾斜误差不大于1′,平移误差不大于5μm。该方法可用于抛物面反射镜检验,也可用于抛物面反射镜的调校工艺中。  相似文献

The rapid fabrication of inexpensive, efficient optical fiber end-face mirrors by dipping the fiber into a small-volume drop of a molten, low-melting-point metal alloy is described. The technique uses a small (a couple hundred micrometers thick, about 1 mm wide) drop of molten metal to achieve reliable, repeatable adhesion of the metal to the fiber that is not possible with larger volumes. The resulting mirrors have an average reflectance of 65–75% for wavelengths in the telecommunications range of 1300–1600 nm. The efficient and robust nature of the resulting mirrors is demonstrated with a novel end-of-fiber mirrored long-period fiber grating.  相似文献

为了对抗日益严重的激光武器威胁,需要了解激光防护材料的光学性能。该文根据非线性吸收模型,推导出光限幅阈值表达式。并以表达式为理论依据,利用配位聚合物[Cd(L4)(SO4)(H2O)2]n在波长532nm、脉冲宽度为40ps的条件下所获得的实验数据,分析研究非线性吸收参数、线性透过率和有效激发态吸收截面等物理参数对光限幅效应的影响。以此为基础,研究了激光防护材料的非线性光学特性和光限幅特性,为制备光限幅材料提供了理论和实验依据。  相似文献

We propose in this work a technique for short pulse profile retrieval based on the Kerr effect in a fiber nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). Under some assumptions, the profile can be determined from the energy transfer characteristic of the pulses through the NOLM, which can be measured with a low-frequency detection setup. Two numerical approaches are considered, both relying on the resolution of a system of nonlinear algebraic equations, and which differ in the way that the profiles are discretized. We show numerically that both approaches allow proper profile retrieval for a wide variety of pulse shapes. The two techniques are compared, and their advantages and drawbacks are discussed. The effect of the amplitude noise of the pulses is assessed, as well as the impact of an inaccurate knowledge of the NOLM transfer function, or of the energy transfer characteristic. The technique is demonstrated in the frame of the characterization of both ns and ps pulses.  相似文献

利用空间分辨漫反射光确定生物组织的光学参量进行了实验研究,分别用光纤探测器和CCD无损测量了半无限大生物组织(牛脂肪和牛肉)表面的漫反射光的径向分布.由漫射方程对漫反射光强的相对分布值作非线性拟合确定了生物组织的吸收系数和约化散射系数,所得结果与国外报道的绝对测量法测量的结果相比,其差别小于9.4%.研究结果表明,光纤测量和CCD测量有较好的一致性,而CCD探测具有测量准确、简单和快捷的特点。  相似文献
