A modified method for calculating the nonperturbative quark vacuum condensates from the global color symmetry model is derived. Within this approach it is shown that the treatment of quark vacuum condensates is different from that in the previous studies. As a special case we calculate the π and tensor vacuum susceptibilities. A comparison with the results of the other nonperturbative QCD approaches is given.

Based on QCD sum rule three-point and two-point external field formulas respectively, the vector vacuumsusceptibilities are calculated at the mean-field level in the framework of the global color symmetry model. It is shownthat the above two approaches of determination of the vector vacuum susceptibility may lead to different results. Thereason of this contradiction is discussed.

Based on the quark propagator in the instanton dilute liquid approximation, we have determined the quark condensate , the mixed quark gluon condensate g,μνσμνq) and the four-quark condensate at the mean-field level in the framework of global color symmetry model. The numerical calculation shows that our result is compatible with the range obtained within other nonperturbative approaches. In particular, we have found that even at the mean-field level the naive vacuum saturation approximation is not a good approximation when we consider nonlocal four-quark condensate.

It is shown that the effective gluon propagator in the global color symmetry model can be calculated in the instanton dilute liquid approximation. The calculated effective gluon propagator is consistent with the general command on the qualitative features of the gluon propagator, i.e., (i) the gluon propagator is significantly enhanced at small space-like k2, and (ii) for k2 > 1.5 GeV2 the perturbative results are quantitatively reliable.

Based on a modified version of the global color symmetry model, the pion susceptibilities of vacuum needed in the QCD sum rule external-field method for the coupling of pseudoscalar current to hadron have bean calculated beyond the vacuum saturation approximation.Comparison with the previous estimations has been given.

Using the Dyson-Schwinger equation and perturbation theory, we calculate the mixed quark-gluon condensates in the chiral limit and in the case of nonzero quark current mass for the light quark u/d and strange quark s. The results show that the mixed quark-gluon condensate will decrease when the quark mass increases. For the quark with zero mass, we obtain mo2 = g(qσuvGuvq)/(qq) 0.68 GeV2, which is in good agreement with the QCD sum rules estimate mo2=(0.8± 0.2) GeV2.

Based on the global color symmetry mode/ (GCM), a method for obtaining the quark loop effects on the dressed gluon propagator in GCM is developed. In the chiral limit, it is found that the dressed gluon propagator containing the quark loop effects in the Nambu-Goldstone and Wigner phases are quite different. In solving the quark self-energy functions in the two different phases and subsequent study of bag constant one shouM use the above dressed gluon propagator as input. The above approach for obtaining the current quark mass effects on the dressed gluon propagator is quite general and can also be used to calculate the chemical potential dependence of the dressed gluon propagator.

Based on the Global Color Symmetry Model, the non-perturbative Q, CD vacuum is investigated in the parameterized fully dressed quark propagator. Our theoretical predictions for various quantities characterized the QCD vacuum are in agreement with those predicted by many other phenomenologieal QCD inspired models. The successful predictions clearly indicate the extensive validity of our parameterized quark propagator used here. A detailed discussion on the arbitrariness in determining the integration cut-off parameter ofμ in calculating QCD vacuum condensates and a good method, which avoided the dependence of calculating results on the cut-off parameter is also strongly recommended to readers.

We have investigated the low-lying collective states and electromagnetic transitions in 94Mo within the framework of the interacting boson model. The influence of model parameters on the energy levels and electromagnetic properties has been investigated. The analysis of the obtained results and the parameter values predict that the 23+state is the lowest mixed symmetry state with pure F = Fmax - 1 in this nucleus. The calculated results predicate that the 25+ (two-Q-phonon) mixed symmetry state is closed to the J = 2+ at 2.870 MeV in the experimental data, and the 2.965 MeV state is the lowest mixed symmetry with J = 3+.

Mixed symmetry states are studied in the framework of the neutron-proton interacting boson model. It is found that some of the mixed symmetry states with moderate high spins change very fast with respect to the Majorana interaction.Under certain conditions, they become the yrast state or yrare state. These states are difficult to decay and become very stable. This study suggests that a possible new mode of isomers may exist due to the special nature in their proton and neutron degrees of freedom.

In terms of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) mechanism, the dynamical symmetry breaking of a simple localgauge model is investigated. An important relation between the vacuum expectation value of gauge fields and scalarfields is derived by solving the Euler equation for the gauge fields. Based on this relation the SU(3) gauge potential isgiven which can be used to explain the asymptotic freedom and confinement of quarks in a hadron. The confinementbehavior at finite temperatures is also investigated and it is shown that color confinement at zero temperature can bemelted away under high temperatures.

We study the evolution of heavy quarkonium states with temperature in a Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) by evaluating an in-medium Qˉ T-matrix within a reduced Bethe-Salpeter equation in S- and P-wave channels. The interaction kernel is extracted from finite-temperature QCD lattice calculations of the singlet free energy of a Qˉ pair. Quarkonium bound states are found to gradually move across the Qˉ threshold after which they rapidly dissolve in the hot system. We calculate Euclidean-time correlation functions and compare to results from lattice QCD. We also study finite-width effects in the heavy-quark propagators.
