Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be Banach spaces, \(n\in \mathbb {N}\) , and \(B^n(X,Y)\) the space of bounded \(n\) -linear maps from \(X\times \ldots \times X\) ( \(n\) -times) into \(Y\) . The concept of hyperreflexivity has already been defined for subspaces of \(B(X,Y)\) , where \(X\) and \(Y\) are Banach spaces. We extend this concept to the subspaces of \(B^n(X,Y)\) , taking into account its \(n\) -linear structure. We then investigate when \(\mathcal {Z}^n(A,X)\) , the space of all bounded \(n\) -cocycles from a Banach algebra \(A\) into a Banach \(A\) -bimodule \(X\) , is hyperreflexive. Our approach is based on defining two notions related to a Banach algebra, namely the strong property \((\mathbb {B})\) and bounded local units, and then applying them to find uniform criterions under which \(\mathcal {Z}^n(A,X)\) is hyperreflexive. We also demonstrate that these criterions are satisfied in variety of examples including large classes of C \(^*\) -algebras and group algebras and thereby providing various examples of hyperreflexive \(n\) -cocyle spaces. One advantage of our approach is that not only we obtain the hyperreflexivity for bounded \(n\) -cocycle spaces in different cases but also our results generalize the earlier ones on the hyperreflexivity of bounded derivation spaces, i.e. when \(n=1\) , in the literature. Finally, we investigate the hereditary properties of the strong property \((\mathbb {B})\) and b.l.u. This allows us to come with more examples of bounded \(n\) -cocycle spaces which are hyperreflexive.  相似文献

We study the concept of real stable rank for a complex commutative Banach algebra A (rsr A). It is shown that this invariant has a behaviour completely analogous to the classical Bass stable rank; in particular, we establish a precise relation between both invariants.Further, we use this machinery to show that the connected components of the orthogonal spaces of A, O k n (A)={ A k×n:t=idk×k}, stabilize when k and n increase in a way that depends on rsr A Finally, we prove an analogous stabilization result for the homotopy classes of maps from the j-sphere into O k n (A), where j is an arbitrary positive integer.Research supported by a grant of the CONICET, Argentina.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the following result which solves a question raised by A. Pelczynski: “Every stable Banach space with an unconditional basis is isomorphic to a complemented subspace of some stable Banach space with a symmetric basis.” Moreover, we show that all the interpolation spacesl p ,l q θ,X,1 1≦p, q<∞ andX stable, are stable.  相似文献

Let A be an algebra without unit. If ∥ ∥ is a complete regular norm on A it is known that among the regular extensions of ∥ ∥ to the unitization of A there exists a minimal (operator extension) and maximal (ℓ1-extension) which are known to be equivalent. We shall show that the best upper bound for the ratio of these two extensions is exactly 3. This improves the results represented by A. K. Gaur and Z. V. Kovářík and later by T. W. Palmer. Let A be a complex commutative Banach algebra and let MA be the maximal ideal space of A. We say that A has the bounded separating property if there exists a constant C > 0 such that for every two distinct points ?1, ?2MA, there is an element aA for which , and ‖a‖ ? C, where is the Gelfand transform of aA. GOSSEZ and LAMI DOZO have obtained a sufficient condition for a Banach space with a Schauder basis to have normal structure. This paper generalizes their theorem to obtain a sufficient condition for an arbitrary Banach space to have normal structure. In this review we describe the basic structure of positive continuous one-parameter semigroups acting on ordered Banach spaces. The review is in two parts.First we discuss the general structure of ordered Banach spaces and their ordered duals. We examine normality and generation properties of the cones of positive elements with particular emphasis on monotone properties of the norm. The special cases of Banach lattices, order-unit spaces, and base-norm spaces, are also examined.Second we develop the theory of positive strongly continuous semigroups on ordered Banach spaces, and positive weak*-continuous semigroups on the dual spaces. Initially we derive analogues of the Feller-Miyadera-Phillips and Hille-Yosida theorems on generation of positive semigroups. Subsequently we analyse strict positivity, irreducibility, and spectral properties, in parallel with the Perron-Frobenius theory of positive matrices.  相似文献
