We show the possibility of using the spectral method to determine the quantum characteristics of interaction between fast charged particles and crystal when the channeling occurs. Basing on this method, we have developed the procedure for calculation of particles transversal motions eigenlevels for plane channeling. We considered origin of new levels with increasing of particle's energy and zone structure forming from these levels with increasing number of potential wells. We discuss also the possibility of using the spectral method in number of other problems of quantum theory of channeling.  相似文献

We report a quantum-mechanical study of the ground state of a positively charged particle in an otherwise perfect Si crystal. Particles with intermediate masses between the positron and the deuteron are considered. We find that there are two substantially different limit behaviours, depending on the mass value, ranging from the extreme localization in the high-electronic-density region of the deuteron wave function to the almost uniform extension of the positron one, which on the contrary attributes the maximum of probability to the interstitial region. Moreover, we underline the behaviour of the intermediate mass particles, μ+ and π+, which exhibit a significant degree of delocalization of their wave functions.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of charged particles in the presence of two electrostatic waves propagating obliquely to an ambient magnetic field. The presence of a second wave makes the problem a two-dimensional and time-dependent one with a complicated phase space behavior. We derive a set of difference equations (maps) for the nonrelativistic particle motion limit and numerically study them to elucidate the various aspects of the phase space dynamics. For the general case of oblique propagation, we observe synergistic effects leading to the lowering of the stochasticity threshold and the concomitant reduction in electric field amplitudes for particle heating applications. These results can be understood in terms of the resonance structures associated with the two waves and we obtain approximate analytic expressions for the thresholds. For the degenerate case of omega(1)=nOmega,omega(2)=mOmega (where omega(1),omega(2) are the frequencies of the two waves, Omega is the cyclotron frequency and n,m are integers) and strictly perpendicular propagation, the problem simplifies to a one-and-one-half-dimensional one. The problem of transition radiation generated by relativistic particles incident on atomic strings in a crystal at a small angle is considered. Conditions are obtained under which the problem of transition radiation reduces to that of radiation generated by a collision with a filament-like target. It is shown that the angular distribution of transition radiation is symmetric with respect to the atomic-string axis.  相似文献

The problem of interaction of two channeling similarly charged particles in the center-of-mass system has been reduced to the Schrödinger equation in spherical coordinates with an additional oscillator potential. Preliminary estimations have been obtained and nonmonotonic behavior of the multiplication factor of nuclear reactions on the collision energy is established.  相似文献

A new formalism is presented, which has not the difficulties of the conventionalGreen's function methods for disturbed lattice dynamics. The new method introduces aGreen's function and an eigenvector-function, which are defined in the wholeω-plane. A simple device allows to extract the conventional eigenvectors and eigenfrequencies from the eigenvector-function. AGreen's function formalism and a random-phase assumption make it possible to calculate the disturbed eigenvector-function from the undisturbed one in such a way that both are normalized to the respective density of frequencies. The formalism thus is well-fit to describe changes of the density of frequencies, shifts of the bands and discrete (localized) solutions outside the bands. Applicability to the elastic continuum and quantum mechanics seem also possible.  相似文献

We analyse different types of resonance phenomena that can occur in a coupled map lattice in the presence of noise with a subthreshold signal. The onsite dynamics considered here is different from previous such studies, namely, a bimodal cubic map capable of bistability in its dynamics. In addition to the resonance observed in the temporal iterates (the conventional stochastic resonance), we establish the possibility of resonance patterns in spatial sequences along the lattice, which we refer to as “Lattice Stochastic Resonance”. The characterising features of both are investigated in detail, under different types of signals with nearest neighbour coupling between lattice points. Possible practical applications are in signal detection, image processing and in communication networks.  相似文献

Conclusions In high-resistance solid dielectrics (with resistances of 1012 · cm or higher, when they are irradiated with electron beams, spontaneous electric discharges are observed while the irradiation is occurring. The discharges occur at defects in the surface and develop in the layer within which the charged particles are distributed.When the charged particles are distributed in the surface or near-surface layer of the dielectric, the discharge may be initiated close to the charged surface by a grounded metal needle, even some time after the irradiation. After long storage and self-dis charge of the surface layer of the irradiated dielectric or compensation of the surface charge, discharge of the charge stored in the depth of the dielectric can occur by scratching the surface or pricking it with a needle. When the charge lies deep inside the dielectric, a brush discharge occurs when a strong shock is applied to the surface of the dielectric using a grounded needle.In all the above cases initiation of an electric discharge in the solid dielectric occurred by mechanoelectrical phenomena of direct conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy with a high field strength. It is shown that, contrary to popular belief, diffraction scattering in nuclear and particle physics is not always of Fraunhofer type. By establishing a simple physical connection between scattering in a Coulomb field and Fresnel diffraction we show that diffractive collisions of heavy charged particles are predominantly of Fresnel type. We derive quantitative criteria for Fraunhofer and Fresnel scattering which lead to a classification of all scattering processes by means of a “diffraction diagram.” This enables us to make specific predictions about the gross structure of angular distributions for any experimental conditions.  相似文献

Channeling describes the collimated motion of energetic charged particles along the lattice plane or axis in a crystal. The energetic particles are steered through the channels formed by strings of atomic constituents in the lattice. In the case of planar channeling, the motion of a charged particle between the atomic planes can be periodic or quasiperiodic, such as a simple oscillatory motion in the transverse direction. In practice, however, the periodic motion of the channeling particles can be accompanied by an irregular, chaotic behavior. In this paper, the Moliere potential, which is considered as a good analytical approximation for the interaction of channeling particles with the rows of atoms in the lattice, is used to simulate the channeling behavior of positively charged particles in a tungsten (100) crystal plane. By appropriate selection of channeling parameters, such as the projectile energy E(0) and incident angle psi(0), the transition of channeling particles from regular to chaotic motion is demonstrated. It is argued that the fine structures that appear in the angular scan channeling experiments are due to the particles' chaotic motion.  相似文献

A new method of determining the differential energy loss of charged excited nuclei in matter is described. The method is based on the velocity dependence of the Doppler shift of the gamma quanta emitted by moving nuclei. No theoretical assumptions concerning the velocity dependence of atomic or nuclear collisions are necessary. The method and mathematical analysis, described in detail, are applied to the energy loss of Li ions emitting gamma quanta of 477 keV in the kinetic energy range between 100 and 800 keV. It is found that the energy loss of Li ions is linearly proportional to the velocity within 2% for several substances ofZ=1 to 74. The small limits of error, which can be obtained, allow an application of this method to questions as e.g. theZ-dependence of the stopping power on the nuclear charge of the stopping material, chemical binding effects, the time dependence of the adjustment of the equilibrium charge of the projectile after nuclear reactions, or the determination of nuclear angular correlations.  相似文献

The ac conductivities along the c-axis of the lutetium nitrate crystal were measured successively in the frequency range from 0.5 to 105 Hz at temperatures from 290 to 210 K. The metastable behaviors of the conductivity were found in the temperature region above 200 K. The fluctuation was given by the successive measurements of the time series of the ac conductivities and represented by non-Gaussian probability distribution function. The effect of the metastable singularity on Raman scattering spectra was observed in the metastable temperature region.  相似文献
