In this paper, the homotopy analysis method is applied to develop a analytic approach for nonlinear differential equations with time-delay. A nonlinear model in biology is used as an example to show the basic ideas of this analytic approach. Different from other analytic techniques, the homotopy analysis method provides a simple way to ensure the convergence of the solution series, so that one can always get accurate approximations. A new discontinuous function is defined so as to express the piecewise continuous solutions of time-delay differential equations in a way convenient for symbolic computations. It is found that the time-delay has a great influence on the solution of the time-delay nonlinear differential equation. This approach has general meanings and can be applied to solve other nonlinear problems with time-delay.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a parameter identification problem involving a time-delay dynamical system, in which the measured data are stochastic variable. However, the probability distribution of this stochastic variable is not available and the only information we have is its first moment. This problem is formulated as a distributionally robust parameter identification problem governed by a time-delay dynamical system. Using duality theory of linear optimization in a probability space, the distributionally robust parameter identification problem, which is a bi-level optimization problem, is transformed into a single-level optimization problem with a semi-infinite constraint. By applying problem transformation and smoothing techniques, the semi-infinite constraint is approximated by a smooth constraint and the convergence of the smooth approximation method is established. Then, the gradients of the cost and constraint functions with respect to time-delay and parameters are derived. On this basis, a gradient-based optimization method for solving the transformed problem is developed. Finally, we present an example, arising in practical fermentation process, to illustrate the applicability of the proposed method.  相似文献

We point out the existence of a transition from partial to global generalized synchronization (GS) in symmetrically coupled structurally different time-delay systems of different orders using the auxiliary system approach and the mutual false nearest neighbor method. The present authors have recently reported that there exists a common GS manifold even in an ensemble of structurally nonidentical scalar time-delay systems with different fractal dimensions and shown that GS occurs simultaneously with phase synchronization (PS). In this paper we confirm that the above result is not confined just to scalar one-dimensional time-delay systems alone but there exists a similar type of transition even in the case of time-delay systems with different orders. We calculate the maximal transverse Lyapunov exponent to evaluate the asymptotic stability of the complete synchronization manifold of each of the main and the corresponding auxiliary systems, which in turn ensures the stability of the GS manifold between the main systems. Further we estimate the correlation coefficient and the correlation of probability of recurrence to establish the relation between GS and PS. We also calculate the mutual false nearest neighbor parameter which doubly confirms the occurrence of the global GS manifold.  相似文献

It is an important issue to estimate parameters of chaotic system in nonlinear science. In this paper, parameter estimation problem of chaotic system with time-delay is considered. Parameters and time-delay are estimated together by treating time-delay as an additional parameter. The parameter estimation problem is converted to an multi-dimensional optimization problem. A differential evolution (DE) algorithm, which possess a powerful searching capability for finding the solutions for a given optimization problem, is applied to solve this optimization problem. In this paper, we get a time-delay new financial hyperchaotic system by modifying an old financial hyperchaotic system. we study the stability of a time-delay financial hyperchaotic system via adaptive periodically intermittent linear control method. Stability is obtained by using Lyapunov stability theorem, adaptive update laws and differential inequalities. On the basis of the Hindmarsh–Rose (HR) neuron model, the dynamics of electrical activity and the transition of firing patterns induced by three types of autapses have been investigated in detail. The dynamic effect of an autapse is detected by imposing a feedback term with a specific time-delay and autaptic intensity. We found that the delayed autaptic feedback connection switches the electrical activities of the HR neuron among quiescent, periodic and chaotic firing patterns. In the case of an electrical autapse, the transition from a periodic to a chaotic state occurs depending on the specific autaptic intensity and the time-delay. The excitatory chemical autapse plays a positive role in generating and enhancing the chaotic state. A time delay could decrease and suppress the chaotic state in the case of inhibitory chemical self-connections with a proper autaptic intensity. The bifurcation diagram vs. time-delay and autaptic intensity has been extensively studied, and the time series of membrane potentials and the distribution of information entropy have also been calculated to confirm the bifurcation analysis.  相似文献

A nonlinear stochastic optimal time-delay control strategy for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems is proposed. First, a stochastic optimal control problem of quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system with time-delay in feedback control subjected to Gaussian white noise is formulated. Then, the time-delayed feedback control forces are approximated by the control forces without time-delay and the original problem is converted into a stochastic optimal control problem without time-delay. After that, the converted stochastic optimal control problem is solved by applying the stochastic averaging method and the stochastic dynamical programming principle. As an example, the stochastic time-delay optimal control of two coupled van der Pol oscillators under stochastic excitation is worked out in detail to illustrate the procedure and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.  相似文献

This paper addresses the exponential stability for a class of nonlinear hybrid time-delay systems. The system to be considered is autonomous and the state delay is time-varying. Using the Lyapunov functional approach combined with the Newton–Leibniz formula, neither restriction on the derivative of time-delay function nor bound restriction on nonlinear perturbations is required to design a switching rule for the exponential stability of nonlinear switched systems with time-varying delays. The delay-dependent stability conditions are presented in terms of the solution of algebraic Riccati equations, which allows computing simultaneously the two bounds that characterize the stability rate of the solution. This paper investigates a novel stability criterion for interval time-delay chaotic systems via the evolutionary programming (EP) approach. First a delay-dependent criterion is derived for ensuring the stability of degenerate time-delay systems, and then by solving eigenvalue location optimization problems, which will be defined later, the robust stability of interval time-delay systems can be guaranteed. The technique to identify the system parameters thereof has attracted extensive research interest, since knowing the parameters would enable effective system control strategy and accurate response prediction. In this paper, a novel approach is developed to identify the parameters of the linear time-delay differential system by analyzing the complex system response in the frequency domain. Firstly, the complex frequency response of the time-delay system is expressed as a function of physical parameters and time-delay parameters, forming a typical optimization problem. Subsequently, the sensitivities with respect to the unknown parameters are derived. A novel sensitivity-based algorithm is adopted in the identification procedure. Trust-region constraint is implemented and hence tackled by Tikhonov regularization, which effectively enhances the efficiency of the algorithm. The feasibility and robustness of the identification procedure are evaluated by identifying the parameters of two numerical time-delay systems and an experimental case.  相似文献

A positional differential time-optimal game is considered for a conflict-controlled time-delay object. Minimax and maximin feedback controls are constructed within a scheme that includes an intermediate model object described by an ordinary differential equation and a stochastic guide described by the Ito differential equation. The motion of the guide is based on the real-time solution of a sequence of auxiliary boundary value problems for a parabolic equation with a degenerate diffusion term.  相似文献
