We generalize an important theorem of Fred Galvin from the Stone-Cˇech compactification βT of any discrete semigroup T to any compact Hausdorff right-topological semigroup with a dense topological center;and then apply it to Ellis' semigroups to prove that a point is distal if and only if it is IP*-recurrent, for any semiflow(T, X) with arbitrary compact Hausdorff phase space X not necessarily metrizable and with arbitrary phase semigroup T not necessarily cancelable.  相似文献

Let X be a closed subset of a locally compact second countable group G whose family of translates has finite VC-dimension. We show that the topological border of X has Haar measure 0. Under an extra technical hypothesis, this also holds if X is constructible. We deduce from this generic compact domination for definably amenable NIP groups.  相似文献

This is a potential theoretic study of balayage (sweeping) of a positive Radon measure ω on a locally compact (Hausdorff) space X onto a closed, or, more generally, a quasiclosed set A ? X (that is, a set which can be approximated in outer capacity by closed sets). The setting is that of potentials with respect to a suitable symmetric function kernel G: X × X → [0,+∞]. We consider energy capacity, not as a set function, but as a functional, acting on positive numerical functions on X. The finiteness of the upper capacity of the function 1 A is sufficient for the possibility of the sweeping in question (1 A denoting the indicator function of A and the G-potential of ω).  相似文献

In the theory of operators on a Riesz space (vector lattice), an important result states that the Riesz homomorphisms (lattice homomorphisms) on C(X) are exactly the weighted composition operators. We extend this result to Riesz* homomorphisms on order dense subspaces of C(X). On those subspace we consider and compare various classes of operators that extend the notion of a Riesz homomorphism. Furthermore, using the weighted composition structure of Riesz* homomorphisms we obtain several results concerning bijective Riesz* homomorphisms. In particular, we characterize the automorphism group for order dense subspaces of C(X). Lastly, we develop a similar theory for Riesz* homomorphisms on subspace of \(C_0(X)\), for a locally compact Hausdorff space X, and apply it to smooth manifolds and Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

It was proved by R. Gomory and T. Hu in 1961 that, for every finite nonempty ultrametric space (X, d), the inequaliy \( \left| {\mathrm{Sp}(X)} \right|\leq \left| X \right|-1 \), where Sp(X) = {d(x, y) : x, yX, x ≠ y} , holds. We characterize the spaces X for which the equality is attained by the structural properties of some graphs and show that the set of isometric types of such X is dense in the Gromov–Hausdorff space of the isometric types of compact ultrametric spaces.  相似文献

For a topological property P, we say that a space X is star Pif for every open cover Uof the space X there exists Y ? X such that St(Y,U) = X and Y has P. We consider star countable and star Lindelöf spaces establishing, among other things, that there exists first countable pseudocompact spaces which are not star Lindelöf. We also describe some classes of spaces in which star countability is equivalent to countable extent and show that a star countable space with a dense σ-compact subspace can have arbitrary extent. It is proved that for any ω 1-monolithic compact space X, if C p (X)is star countable then it is Lindelöf.  相似文献

As shown in [1], for each compact Hausdorff space K without isolated points, there exists a compact Hausdorff P′-space X but not an F-space such that C(K) is isometrically Riesz isomorphic to a Riesz subspace of C(X). The proof is technical and depends heavily on some representation theorems. In this paper we give a simple and direct proof without any assumptions on isolated points. Some generalizations of these results are mentioned.  相似文献

The space clos(X) of all nonempty closed subsets of an unbounded metric space X is considered. The space clos(X) is endowed with a metric in which a sequence of closed sets converges if and only if the distances from these sets to a fixed point θ are bounded and, for any r, the sequence of the unions of the given sets with the exterior balls of radius r centered at θ converges in the Hausdorff metric. The metric on clos(X) thus defined is not equivalent to the Hausdorff metric, whatever the initial metric space X. Conditions for a set to be closed, totally bounded, or compact in clos(X) are obtained; criteria for the bounded compactness and separability of clos(X) are given. The space of continuous maps from a compact space to clos(X) is considered; conditions for a set to be totally bounded in this space are found.  相似文献

A Banach space X has Pe?czyński’s property (V) if for every Banach space Y every unconditionally converging operator T: XY is weakly compact. H.Pfitzner proved that C*-algebras have Pe?czyński’s property (V). In the preprint (Kruli?ová, (2015)) the author explores possible quantifications of the property (V) and shows that C(K) spaces for a compact Hausdorff space K enjoy a quantitative version of the property (V). In this paper we generalize this result by quantifying Pfitzner’s theorem. Moreover, we prove that in dual Banach spaces a quantitative version of the property (V) implies a quantitative version of the Grothendieck property.  相似文献

We give a unified method to obtain the conservativeness of a class of Markov processes associated with lower bounded semi-Dirichlet forms on L 2(X;m), including symmetric diffusion processes, some non-symmetric diffusion processes and jump type Markov processes on X, where X is a locally compact separable metric space and m is a positive Radon measure on X with full topological support. Using the method, we give an example in each section, providing the conservativeness of the processes, that are given by the “increasingness of the volume of some sets(balls)” and “that of the coefficients on the sets” of the Markov processes.  相似文献

We prove that if X, Y are Banach spaces, Ω a compact Hausdorff space and U:C(Ω, X) → Y is a bounded linear operator, and if U is a Dunford-Pettis operator the range of the representing measure G(Σ) ? DP(X, Y) is an uniformly Dunford-Pettis family of operators and ∥G∥ is continuous at Ø. As applications of this result we give necessary and/or sufficient conditions that some bounded linear operators on the space C([0, 1], X) with values in c 0 or l p, (1 ≤ p < ∞) be Dunford-Pettis and/or compact operators, in which, Khinchin’s inequality plays an important role.  相似文献

The spaces X in which every prime z°-ideal of C(X) is either minimal or maximal are characterized. By this characterization, it turns out that for a large class of topological spaces X, such as metric spaces, basically disconnected spaces and one-point compactifications of discrete spaces, every prime z°-ideal in C(X) is either minimal or maximal. We will also answer the following questions: When is every nonregular prime ideal in C(X) a z°-ideal? When is every nonregular (prime) z-ideal in C(X) a z°-ideal? For instance, we show that every nonregular prime ideal of C(X) is a z°-ideal if and only if X is a ?-space (a space in which the boundary of any zeroset is contained in a zeroset with empty interior).  相似文献

We set up a new general coorbit space theory for reproducing representations of a locally compact second countable group G that are not necessarily irreducible nor integrable. Our basic assumption is that the kernel associated with the voice transform belongs to a Fréchet space \(\mathcal T\) of functions on G, which generalizes the classical choice \(\mathcal T=L_w^1(G)\). Our basic example is \( \mathcal T=\bigcap _{p\in (1,+\infty )} L^p(G)\), or a weighted versions of it. By means of this choice it is possible to treat, for instance, Paley-Wiener spaces and coorbit spaces related to Shannon wavelets and Schrödingerlets.  相似文献

We consider reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of Dirichlet series with kernels of the form \(k\left( {s,u} \right) = \sum {{a_n}} {n^{ - s - \overline u }}\), and characterize when such a space is a complete Pick space. We then discuss what it means for two reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces to be “the same”, and introduce a notion of weak isomorphism. Many of the spaces we consider turn out to be weakly isomorphic as reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces to the Drury–Arveson space H d 2 in d variables, where d can be any number in {1, 2,...,∞}, and in particular their multiplier algebras are unitarily equivalent to the multiplier algebra of H d 2 . Thus, a family of multiplier algebras of Dirichlet series is exhibited with the property that every complete Pick algebra is a quotient of each member of this family. Finally, we determine precisely when such a space of Dirichlet series is weakly isomorphic as a reproducing kernel Hilbert space to H d 2 and when its multiplier algebra is isometrically isomorphic to Mult(H d 2 ).  相似文献

A closed subspace H of a symmetric space X on [0, 1] is said to be strongly embedded in X if in H the convergence in X-norm is equivalent to the convergence in measure. We study symmetric spaces X with the property that all their reflexive subspaces are strongly embedded in X. We prove that it is the case for all spaces, which satisfy an analogue of the classical Dunford–Pettis theorem on relatively weakly compact subsets in L1. At the same time the converse assertion fails for a broad class of separableMarcinkiewicz spaces.  相似文献

Let X and Y be completely regular spaces and E and F be Hausdorff topological vector spaces. We call a linear map T from a subspace of C(X, E) into C(Y, F) a Banach–Stone map if it has the form T f (y) =  S y (f (h(y))) for a family of linear operators S y : EF, \({y \in Y}\) , and a function h: YX. In this paper, we consider maps having the property:
$\bigcap^{k}_{i=1}Z(f_{i}) \neq\emptyset \iff \bigcap^{k}_{i=1}Z(Tf_{i})\neq\emptyset , \quad({\rm Z}) $
where Z(f) =  {f =  0}. We characterize linear bijections with property (Z) between spaces of continuous functions, respectively, spaces of differentiable functions (including C ), as Banach–Stone maps. In particular, we confirm a conjecture of Ercan and Önal: Suppose that X and Y are realcompact spaces and E and F are Hausdorff topological vector lattices (respectively, C *-algebras). Let T: C(X, E) → C(Y, F) be a vector lattice isomorphism (respectively, *-algebra isomorphism) such that
$ Z(f) \neq\emptyset\iff Z(Tf) \neq\emptyset. $
Then X is homeomorphic to Y and E is lattice isomorphic (respectively, C *-isomorphic) to F. Some results concerning the continuity of T are also obtained.

In this short note,we consider the perturbation of compact quantum metric spaces. We first show that for two compact quantum metric spaces(A,P) and(B,Q) for which A and B are subspaces of an order-unit space C and P and Q are Lip-norms on A and B respectively, the quantum Gromov–Hausdorff distance between(A,P) and(B,Q) is small under certain conditions. Then some other perturbation results on compact quantum metric spaces derived from spectral triples are also given.  相似文献

Let X be a compact complex manifold which is the image of a complex torus by a holomorphic surjective map AX. We prove that X is Kähler and that up to a finite étale cover, X is a product of projective spaces by a torus.  相似文献

For a Tychonoff space X, we obtain a criterion of the σ-countable compactness of the space of continuous functions C(X) with the set-open topology. In particular, for the class of extremally disconnected spaces X, we prove that the space C λ(X) is σ-countably compact if and only if X is a pseudocompact space, the set X(P) of all P-points of the space X is dense in X, and the family λ consists of finite subsets of the set X(P).  相似文献
