The resonant transmission of a small annular aperture, with a diameter much smaller than the radiation wavelength, in a thin metal plate is studied at microwave frequencies. It transpires that such an annular aperture supports several resonant guided modes, including those that are not quantized in the azimuthal direction. Such modes have resonant frequencies that are largely independent of the diameter of the annular aperture, thus being supported by annular apertures that tend to zero radius. The transmittance of such a structure at microwave frequencies is detailed and compared with the predictions of a finite element method model.  相似文献

The potential for nonlinear conversion between two laser pulses in a three-level V-type medium with assistance of an auxiliary microwave resonant radiation is studied. The results show that microwave driven field can lead to the parametric generation of a new laser pulse with high conversion efficiency when a weak pump laser pulse is applied.  相似文献

The possibility of a population inversion in a multisubband two-dimensional (2D) electron system exposed to resonant microwave (MW) radiation and a static magnetic field is shown. Theoretical analysis given here indicates that the resonant excitation of the third subband, necessary for the population inversion, is accompanied by novel magnetoconductivity oscillations in the 2D electron system formed on the surface of liquid helium.  相似文献

Using the Schrödinger-Maxwell equations, we investigate the formation of microwave solitons in a crystal of molecular magnets. This system is subjected to one dc magnetic field and two (probe and coupling) ac resonant magnetic fields. The results show that the probe magnetic field can freely propagate in a crystal of molecular magnets due to quantum interference. Furthermore, within certain parameter range, both bright and dark microwave solitons can occur in such a highly resonant medium. We also obtain the analytical expressions for the phase shift and absorption coefficient of the probe magnetic field.  相似文献

Strong resonant transmission of microwave radiation through a very narrow (much less than the radiation wavelength) metallic slit is recorded. The results show that a set of resonant self-coupled surface plasmons are excited within the small gap, giving a Fabry-Pérot-like behavior in accord with analytical results published earlier [Y. Takakura, Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 5601 (2001)]. The metallic slit, formed by two thick metal plates spaced apart by tens of microns, is inserted in a wavelength-sized aperture. On resonance the transmissivity through the metal slit is more than 2 orders of magnitude greater than the radiation impinging on the slit area.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of the resonant quantum behavior for a macroscopic superconducting system interacting with an external microwave at proper frequency. Here we consider a system described by a double well potential, an rf-SQUID, in the extremely underdamped regime. Numerical simulations for resonant phenomena have been performed for this system, whose parameters belong to the range typically used in the experiments. The dependence of the transition probability W on the external drive of the system, φx, can show three resonance peaks, in a small microwave frequency range. One peak is connected with the anticrossing and the other two with the external microwave frequency ν. The relative position and the height of the two lateral peaks depend on the microwave frequency. This behavior is studied here for the first time.  相似文献

A method of resonant near-field microwave probing is developed for contactless diagnostics of a high-pressure plasma. The efficiency of this method in measuring the parameters of the plasma of an rf capacitive discharge in argon under atmospheric pressure is demonstrated. The experimental results are compared with the data obtained using the independent method, the microwave radiation “cutoff,” and with theoretical estimates.  相似文献

We present evidence for transitions between fluxoid wells of a SQUID due to cascaded, two-photon processes. Such transitions are evidenced by an anomalous dependence on the transition rate from the one-photon resonant level within the initial well, which cannot be explained by previously observed macroscopic resonant tunneling. These two-photon processes may be a significant source of decoherence in SQUID qubits subject to microwave radiation.  相似文献

It is shown that mechanical vibration (acoustical oscillation) of a solid medium along the propagation of multifrequency laser radiation enables one to control the resonant absorption. There exists an optimal spectral structure of the incident field dependent on vibration amplitude as well as the number and intensity of the frequency components that provides the full resonant transparency. A mechanism of the transparency is discussed. Transparency of this kind is shown to appear also via adiabatic modulation of the atomic transition frequency by an external microwave field.  相似文献

Measurements of the dc resistivity of surface-state electrons on liquid helium exposed to microwave radiation are reported. It is shown that the resonant microwave excitation of surface-state electrons is accompanied by a strong increase in their resistivity, which is opposite to the result expected from the previously used two-level model. We show that even a very small fraction of electrons excited to the first excited state and decaying back due to vapor-atom scattering strongly heat the electron system, causing a population of higher subbands. The calculated resistivity change is in good agreement with the observed data.  相似文献

圆台谐振腔和微波产生及传输装置可以形成一套和外界独立的微波谐振器系统.由于壁面上电磁压强差的作用,圆台谐振腔可能产生净电磁力,这需要从实验上给予证明.为此首先应对独立的微波谐振器系统进行调谐实验研究,使系统时刻处于谐振状态,这是实验证明净电磁力存在的重要保证.为此,本文对圆台谐振腔进行低信号调谐实验,同时配合调谐元件,准确地调试2.45 GHz频率下的谐振状态,分析温度对谐振状态的影响.实验结果表明该微波谐振器谐振频率2.44895 GHz、品质因数117495.0823,而且当腔体壁温升高时谐振频率减小、品质因数出现周期性振荡.  相似文献

The effect of a magnetized plasma on the resonant photoproduction of axions on the electromagnetic multipole components of the medium, if + a, has been considered. It has been shown that the axion emissivity in the resonance region, owing to various reactions involving particles of the medium, is certainly expressed in terms of the emissivity of the photon → axion transition. The number of axions produced by the equilibrium cosmic microwave background radiation in the magnetar magnetosphere has been determined. It has been shown that the resonant mechanism under consideration is inefficient for the production of cold dark mass.  相似文献

We investigate the time-dependent dynamical behavior of electron transport in AlGaAs/GaAs double-barrier structures under a high-frequency radiation field. The effects of the radiation field with different amplitude and frequency on the real-time and mean current-voltage curves are taken into account. We find that the amplitude and frequency of the radiation field affect the final stable state current-voltage (I-V) behaviors, which leads to the switching between different current states at a smaller bias than that of the absence of the radiation field, and both current hysteresis and resonant peaks are suppressed by the external radiation field. The high radiation field strength can make the resonant peak of current split and the hysteresis of current disappear. This effect provides the potential to use double-barrier structure as a THz photoelectric switch.  相似文献

The spectra of edge magnetoplasma excitations in two-dimensional (2D) electron disks have been analyzed by the method of optical detection of resonant microwave absorption. The magnetic dispersion of an edge magnetoplasmon in samples with a high 2D electron density is found to be poorly reproduced by existing theoretical models. Analysis of the magnetic-field dependence of the linewidth of resonant microwave absorption for samples with various 2D electron densities shows that the inverse width of the main mode of resonant microwave absorption is universally proportional to the Hall resistance of 2D electrons.  相似文献

We have studied the spontaneous emission behaviour in a five-level M-type atom driven by two optical fields of high frequencies and a microwave field of low-frequency. In absence of non-orthogonal decaying pathways, due to microwave field induced low-frequency coherence, the present model produces the emission spectrum resembling that of a three-level system controlled by the effect of vacuum induced decay-interference. For particular sets of values of the Rabi frequencies of the resonant coherent fields, the system exhibits quantum interference induced switching effect. By using this model, we have shown that the phenomenon of narrowing can be induced in the emission peaks without any detuning and phase control of the coherent fields. With the increase in the value of the Rabi frequency of the microwave field, this feature will be accompanied by the peak-compression and -repulsion effect. When the coherent fields are far from resonance, the appearance of the single-photon and the two-photon peaks in the emission spectrum can be easily controlled by changing the value of the Rabi frequency of the microwave field. We have shown the appearance of multiple dark regions in the emission line shape for equal as well as unequal decay rates of two emission pathways. Other interesting phenomena like elimination, enhancement and suppression of spectral line are also explored in various resonant and non-resonant cases.  相似文献

The operation of a pulsed free-electron maser with a Bragg resonator and resonant termination is simulated in terms of nonstationary equations. It is shown that the termination partially loses its reflection properties and accumulates microwave energy when the eigenfrequency of the terminating resonator coincides with the frequency of the maser transition radiation. The difference between these frequencies produces considerable reflections and in the long run quenches masing. The masing stability depends on the lag of the reflected signal and channel losses.  相似文献

Fabry-Perot-like resonant transmission of microwave radiation through a single subwavelength slit in a thick aluminum plate is quantified for a range of slit widths. Surprisingly, and in contrast to previous studies [e.g., Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 5601 (2001)]], the resonant frequency exhibits a maximum as a function of slit width, decreasing as the slit width is reduced to less than 2% of the incident wavelength. This result accords with a new model based on coupled surface plasmon theory taking into account the finite conductivity, and hence permittivity, of the metal. This is contrary to a common assumption that metals can be treated as infinitely conducting in this regime.  相似文献

针对超材料吸波频带窄的问题,采用金属螺旋环超表面与碳纤维吸波材料相复合的方式,设计了宽频高性能复合吸波体.研究发现,在碳纤维吸波材料中引入双层螺旋环超表面能显著增强吸收峰值和吸波带宽,且适当增加螺旋环初始线长和吸收层厚度有利于提高复合吸波体的吸波性能, 9.2—18.0 GHz频段的反射损耗均优于–10 dB (带宽达8.8 GHz),吸收峰值达–14.4 dB.利用S参数计算得到螺旋环-碳纤维复合吸波体的等效电磁参数和特征阻抗呈现多频点谐振特性,通过构建双层螺旋环超表面等效电路模型,定量计算了复合吸波体的电磁谐振频点,发现由等效电路模型获得的谐振频点计算值与仿真值基本相符,说明该复合吸波体多频点电磁谐振是宽频电磁损耗的主要机制.  相似文献
