The mass spectra of diethyl phenyl phosphates show substituent effects with electron-donating groups favouring the molecular ion M+˙, and the [M? C2H4]+˙, [M – 2C2H4]+˙ and [XPhOH]+˙ ions. The [PO3C2H6]+ (m/z 109) and [PO3H2]+ (m/z 81) ions are favoured by electron-withdrawing groups. Results suggest that the formation of the [XPhC2H3]+˙ ion involves rearrangement of C2H3 to the position ortho to the phosphate group. Ortho effects are also observed.  相似文献

The mass spectra of a series of β-ketosilanes, p-Y? C6H4Me2SiCH2C(O)Me and their isomeric silyl enol ethers, p-Y? C6H4Me2SiOC(CH3)?CH2, where Y = H, Me, MeO, Cl, F and CF3, have been recorded. The fragmentation patterns for the β-ketosilanes are very similar to those of their silyl enol ether counterparts. The seven major primary fragment ions are [M? Me·]+, [M? C6H4Y·]+, [M? Me2SiO]+˙, [M? C3H4]+˙, [M? HC?CCF3]+˙, [Me2SiOH]+˙ and [C3H6O]+˙ Apparently, upon electron bombardment the β-ketosilanes must undergo rearrangement to an ion structure very similar to that of the ionized silyl enol ethers followed by unimolecular ion decompositions. Substitutions on the benzene ring show a significant effect on the formation of the ions [M? Me2SiO]+˙ and [Me2SiOH]+˙, electron donating groups favoring the former and electron withdrawing groups favoring the latter. The mass spectral fragmentation pathways were identified by observing metastable peaks, metastable ion mass spectra and ion kinetic energy spectra.  相似文献

The [C4H6O] ion of structure [CH2?CHCH?CHOH] (a) is generated by loss of C4H8 from ionized 6,6-dimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-ol. The heat of formation ΔHf of [CH2?CHCH?CHOH] was estimated to be 736 kJ mol?1. The isomeric ion [CH2?C(OH)CH?CH2] (b) was shown to have ΔHf, ? 761 kJ mol?1, 54 kJ mol?1 less than that of its keto analogue [CH3COCH?CH2]. Ion [CH2?C(OH)CH?CH2] may be generated by loss of C2H4 from ionized hex-1-en-3-one or by loss of C4H8 from ionized 4,4-dimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-ol. The [C4H6O] ion generated by loss of C2H4 from ionized 2-cyclohexen-1-ol was shown to consist of a mixture of the above enol ions by comparing the metastable ion and collisional activation mass spectra of [CH2?CHCH?CHOH] and [CH2?C(OH)CH?CH2] ions with that of the above daughter ion. It is further concluded that prior to their major fragmentations by loss of CH3˙ and CO, [CH2?CHCH?CHOH]+˙ and [CH2?C(OH)CH?CH2] do not rearrange to their keto counterparts. The metastable ion and collisional activation characteristics of the isomeric allenic [C4H6O] ion [CH2?C?CHCH2OH] are also reported.  相似文献

The mode of ionization of a molecule has a strong influence on its behavior in the mass spectrometer and thus on the information that can be obtained from its mass spectrum. In chemical ionization a reagent gas, e.g. methane, is first ionized by electron impact. The ions formed in ion-molecule reactions, in particular [CH5]+, [C2H5]+, and [C3H5]+, then react “chemically” with the substrate M in fast acid/base type reactions to form ions of the type [MH]+, [M(C2H5)]+, etc., which subsequently fragment to various extents. Alternatively, chemical ionization can be effected by charge exchange, in that ions of a reagent gas, e.g. [He]+?, react with the substrate M to form molecular ions [M]. Chemical ionization can thus be conducted in a more or less mild fashion and the extent of the fragmentation can be controlled over a very wide range.  相似文献

Chemical ionization mass spectra of several ethers obtained with He/(CH3)4Si mixtures as the reagent gases contain abundant [M + 73]+ adduct ions which identify the relative molecular mass. For the di-n-alkyl ethers, these [M + 73]+ ions are formed by sample ion/sample molecule reactions of the fragment ions, [M + 73 ? CnH2n]+ and [M + 73 ? 2CnH2n]+. Small amounts of [M + H]+ ions are also formed, predominantly by proton transfer reactions of the [M + 73 ? 2CnH2n]+ or [(CH3)3SiOH2]+ ions with the ethers. The di-s-alkyl ethers give no [M + 73] + ions, but do give [M + H]+ ions, which allow the determination of the relative molecular mass. These [M + H]+ ions result primarily from proton transfer reactions from the dominant fragment ion, [(CH3)3SiOH2]+ with the ether. Methyl phenyl ether gives only [M + 73]+ adduct ions, by a bimolecular addition of the trimethylsilyl ion to the ether, not by the two-step process found for the di-n-alkyl ethers. Ethyl phenyl ether gives [M + 73]+ by both the two-step process and the bimolecular addition. Although the mass spectra of the alkyl etherr are temperature-dependent, the sensitivities of the di-alkyl ethers and ethyl phenyl ether are independent of temperature. However, the sensitivity for methyl phenyl ether decreases significantly with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Homoadamantane derivatives can be divided into two groups according to their mass spectra. To the first group belong compounds with electron attracting substituents (COOH, CI, COOCH3, Br); compounds with electron releasing substituents (OCH3, OH, NH3, NHCOCH3) constitute the second group. The most characteristic feature of the first group compounds is the splitting off of the substituent. The hydrocarbon fragment [C11H17]+ thus formed then loses olefin molecules with the formation of corresponding ionic species C11?nH17?2n. The 3-substituted compounds of this group undergo thermal Wagner-Meerwein type rearrangements into adamantane derivatives, resulting in the [C10H15]+ (m/e 135) ion formation; this is the main difference between 1- and 3-substituted homoadamantanes. The series of [CnH2n?6X]+ ions (where X = OCH3, OH, NH2, NHCOCH3, n = 6 to 10) are characteristic of the mass spectra of the second group compounds, the ion [C6H6X]+, [M ? C5H11]+ being the most abundant. The intensity ratio of [M ? C5H11]+ to [M ? C4H9]+ ions is 10:1 for 1-substituted and 3:1 for 3-substituted compounds of this group, allowing the location of the substituent. Some individual features of the spectra are also reported.  相似文献

A study of the chemical ionization (CI) and collisional activation (CA) spectra of a number of α, β-unsaturated nitriles has revealed that the even-electron ions such as [MH]+ and [MNH4]+ produced under chemical ionization undergo decomposition by radical losses also. This results in the formation of M +˙ ions from both [MH]+ and [MNH4]+ ions. In the halogenated molecules losses of X˙ and HX compete with losses of H˙ and HCN. Elimination of X˙ from [MH]+ is highly favoured in the bromoderivative. The dinitriles undergo a substitution reaction in which one of the CN groups is replaced with a hydrogen radical and the resulting mononitrile is ionized leading to [M ? CN + 2H]+ under CI(CH4) or [M ? CN + H + NH4] and [M ? CN + H + N2H7]+ under CI(NH3) conditions.  相似文献

The H2 and CH4 chemical ionization mass spectra of a selection of substituted nitrobenzenes have been determined. It is shown that reduction of the nitro group to the amine is favoured by high source temperatures and the presence of water in the ion source. The H2 chemical ionization mass spectra are much more useful for distinguishing between isomeric compounds than the CH4 CI mass spectra because of the more extensive fragmentation. For ortho substituents bearing a labile hydrogen abundant [MH ? H2O]+ fragments are observed. When the substituent is electron-releasing both ortho and para substituted nitrobenzenes show abundant [MH? OH]+ fragment ions while meta substituted compounds show abundant loss of NO and NO2 from [MH]+. The latter fragmentation is interpreted in terms of protonation para to the substituent or ortho to the vitro function, while the first two fragmentation routes arise from protonation at the nitro group. When the substituent is electron-attracting the chemical ionization mass spectra of isomers are very similar except for the H2O loss reaction for ortho compounds.  相似文献

Cyclic polysulfides isolated from higher plants, model compounds and their electron impact induced fragment ions have been investigated by various mass spectrometric methods. These species represent three sets of sulfur compounds: C3H6Sx (x=1?6), C2H4Sx (x=1?5) and CH2Sx (x=1?4). Three general fragmentation mechanisms are discussed using metastable transitions: (1) the unimolecular loss of structural parts (CH2S, CH2 and Sx); (2) fragmentations which involve ring opening reactions, hydrogen migrations and recyclizations of the product ions ([M? CH3]+, [M? CH3S]+, [M? SH]+ and [M? CS2]); and (3) complete rearrangements preceding the fragmentations ([M? S2H]+ and [M? C2H4]). The cyclic structures of [M] and of specific fragment ions have been investigated by comparing the collisional activation spectra of model ions. On the basis of these results the cyclic ions decompose via linear intermediates and then recyclizations of the product ions occur. The stabilities of the fragment ions have been determined by electron efficiency vs electron energy curves.  相似文献

We report the first positive chemical ionization (PCI) fragmentation mechanisms of phthalates using triple‐quadrupole mass spectrometry and ab initio computational studies using density functional theories (DFT). Methane PCI spectra showed abundant [M + H]+, together with [M + C2H5]+ and [M + C3H5]+. Fragmentation of [M + H]+, [M + C2H5]+ and [M + C3H5]+ involved characteristic ions at m/z 149, 177 and 189, assigned as protonated phthalic anhydride and an adduct of phthalic anhydride with C2H5+ and C3H5+, respectively. Fragmentation of these ions provided more structural information from the PCI spectra. A multi‐pathway fragmentation was proposed for these ions leading to the protonated phthalic anhydride. DFT methods were used to calculate relative free energies and to determine structures of intermediate ions for these pathways. The first step of the fragmentation of [M + C2H5]+ and [M + C3H5]+ is the elimination of [R? H] from an ester group. The second ester group undergoes either a McLafferty rearrangement route or a neutral loss elimination of ROH. DFT calculations (B3LYP, B3PW91 and BPW91) using 6‐311G(d,p) basis sets showed that McLafferty rearrangement of dibutyl, di(‐n‐octyl) and di(2‐ethyl‐n‐hexyl) phthalates is an energetically more favorable pathway than loss of an alcohol moiety. Prominent ions in these pathways were confirmed with deuterium labeled phthalates. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A study of the electron impact and chemical ionization (H2, CH4, and iso-C4H10) mass spectra of stereoisomeric benzoin oximes and phenylhydrazones indicates that while the former can be distinguished only by their chemical ionization mass spectra the latter are readily distinguishable by both their electron impact and chemical ionization mass spectra. The electron impact mass spectra of the isomeric oximes are practically identical; however, the chemical ionization spectra show that the E isomer forms more stable [MH]+ and [MH? H2O]+ ions than the Z isomer for which both the [MH]+ and [MH? H2O]+ ions are relatively unstable. In electron impact the Z-phenylhydrazone shows a lower [M]+˙ ion abundance and more facile loss of H2O than does the E isomer. This more facile H2O loss also is observed for the [MH]+ ion of the Z isomer under chemical ionization conditions.  相似文献

Under electron impact o-phthalanilic acids show the retrosynthetic reaction previously described for other phthalamic acids. As primary amine derivatives they undergo thermal and electron impact induced water loss. Like the molecular ions of the related phthalimides, their [M? H2O] do not give [C8H6NO2]+ fragments, which are obtained from the N-cyclohexyl derivative. The structure of such fragments is investigated by collisionally activated mass analysed ion kinetic energy spectra, and compared with the [MH]+ of phthalimide, obtained by chemical ionization with CH4 or NH3 and assumed to be possible models.  相似文献

The tetramethylsilane (TMS) chemical ionization (CI) mass spectra of some geometrical isomers of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, esters and isomeric phthalic acids reveal explicit differences. The (E)-acids show an abundant [M + 73 ? CH4]+Ion whereas the (Z)-acids exhibit a strong [M + 73 ? H2O]+ ion in their TMS CI spectra. The loss of CH4 from the adduct of fumaric acid has been confirmed by the study of fumaric acid-d2 and B/E linked scan studies. In the case of esters, the TMS CI spectra of (E)-isomers contain abundant [M + 73]+ adduct ions, whereas these are weakly abundant in the TMS CI of the (Z)-isomers.  相似文献

The apparently equal binding of all 9 H-atoms, demonstrated with the aid of deuterium labeling by N. M. M. Nibbering et al.,3 in [C8H9]+-ions generated from β-phenylethyl bromides has been confirmed. This result has been explained by a cyclooctatrienyl structure (a) of the ions. A comparison of the heats of formation of [C8H9]+-ions of different origin reveals, however, that this is not true for [C8H9]+-ions of β-phenylethyl bromide in the ground state. As a result of a study of the influence of substituents at the phenylring of β-phenylethyl bromide on the intensities of the [M ? Br]+-ions, R. H. Shapiro et al.4 proposed a phenonium structure (c) for the [C8H9]+-ions. The substituent effect on intensities and AP of [M ? CH2Br]+- and [M ? Br]+-ions of β-phenylethyl bromides is quite different and can be explained much better by a ‘classical’ structure of the [C8H9]+- ions. This structure can also be deduced by a comparison of the IP and AP of [M ? Br]+-ions of benzyl-, β-phenylethyl- and γ-phenylpropyl-bromide.  相似文献

Dissociative ionization of 1,2-epoxy n-alkanes gives rise to abundant [C4H7O]+ ions of structure [CH3OCHCHCH2]+. This conclusion is drawn from metastable ion analysis and from collisional activation spectra. This fragmentation involves the C? C ring opening and a 1,4-H migration leading to the corresponding enol ether [CH3OCHCHCH2R]+. precursor of [CH3OCHCHCH2]+ fragment. The same isomerization scheme applies to 1,2-epoxy methyl substituted alkanes and 2,3-epoxy n-alkanes.  相似文献

A series of five complexes that incorporate the guanidinium ion and various deprotonated forms of Kemp’s triacid (H3KTA) have been synthesized and characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis. The complex [C(NH2)3+] ? [H2KTA?] ( 1 ) exhibits a sinusoidal layer structure with a centrosymmetric pseudo‐rosette motif composed of two ion pairs. The fully deprotonated Kemp’s triacid moiety in 3 [C(NH2)3+] ? [KTA3?] ( 2 ) forms a record number of eighteen acceptor hydrogen bonds, thus leading to a closely knit three‐dimensional network. The KTA3? anion adopts an uncommon twist conformation in [(CH3)4N+] ? 2 [C(NH2)3+] ? [KTA3?] ? 2 H2O ( 3 ). The crystal structure of [(nC3H7)4N+] ? 2 [C(NH2)3+] ? [KTA3?] ( 4 ) features a tetrahedral aggregate of four guanidinium ions stabilized by an outer shell that comprises six equatorial carboxylate groups that belong to separate [KTA3?] anions. In 3 [(C2H5)4N+] ? 20 [C(NH2)3+] ? 11 [HKTA2?] ? [H2KTA?] ? 17 H2O ( 5 ), an even larger centrosymmetric inner core composed of eight guanidinium ions and six bridging water molecules is enclosed by a crust composed of eighteen axial carboxyl/carboxylate groups from six HKTA2? anions.  相似文献

The mass spectra of 30 sulfinamide derivatives (RSONHR', R' alkyl or p-XC6H4) are reported. Most of the spectra had peaks attributable to thermal decomposition products. For some compounds these were identified by pyrolysis under similar conditions to be: RSO2NHR', RSO2SR, RSSR and NH2R' (in all kinds of sulfinyl amides); RSNHR' (in the case of arylsulfinyl arylamides); RSO2C6H4NH2, RSOC6H4NH2 and RSC6H4NH2 (in the case of arylsulfinyl arylamides of the type of X = H) The mass spectra of the three thermally stable compounds showed that there are several kinds of common fragment ions. The mass spectra of the thermally labile compounds had two groups of ions; (i) characteristic fragment ions of the intact molecules and (ii) the molecular ions of the thermal decomposition products. It was concluded that the sulfinamides give the following ions after electron impact: [M]+, [M ? R]+, [M ? R + H]+, [M ? SO]+, [RS]+, [NHR']+, [NHR' + H]+, [RSO]+, [RSO + H]+, [R]+, [R + H]+, [R']+ and [M ? OH]+, and that the thermal decomposition products give the following ions: [RSO2SR]+, [RSSR]+, [M ? O]+, [M + O]+ and [RSOC6H4NH2]+.  相似文献

The gas phase heats of formation of several organosulfur cations were determined from thiirane, thietane and tetrahydrothiophene precursor molecules by photoionization mass spectrometry. Heats of formation at 0 K and 298 K are reported for the following ions: [H2CS], [H3CS]+, [C2H3S]+, [C2H4S], [C3H5S]+, [C3H6S], [C4H7S]+ and [C4H8S]. The [C4H7S]+ (m/z 87), [C2H4S] (m/z 60), [C2H3S]+ (m/z 59), [C4H7]+ (m/z 55), [C4H6] (m/z 54) and [CH2S] (m/z 46) ions are produced from metastable tetrahydrothiophene ions at photon energies between 10.2 and 10.7 eV. Decay rates of internal energy selected parent ions to the m/z 60, 59, 55 and 54 fragments were measured by threshold photoelectron-photoion coincidence, the results of which are compared to statistical theory (RRKM/QET) calculations. The [C2H4S] ion from tetrahydrothiophene is found to have the thioacetaldehyde structure. From the measured [C2H4S] onset a ΔH = 50±8 kJ mol?1 was calculated for the thioacetaldehyde molecule.  相似文献

The gas-phase ion chemistry of protonated O,O-diethyl O-aryl phosphorothionates was studied with tandem mass spectrometric and ab initio theoretical methods. Collision-activated dissociation (CAD) experiments were performed for the [M+H]+ ions on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Various amounts of internal energy were deposited into the ions upon CAD by variation of the collision energy and collision gas pressure. In addition to isobutane, deuterated isobutane C4D10 also was used as reagent gas in chemical ionization. The daughter ions [M+H?C2H4]+ and [M+H?2C2H4]+ dominate the CAD spectra. These fragments arise via various pathways, each of which involves γ-proton migration. Formation of the terminal ions [M+H?2C2H4?H2O]+, [M+H?2C2H4?H2S]+, [ZPhOH2]+, [ZPhSH2]+, and [ZPhS]+ [Z = substituent(s) on the benzene ring] suggests that (1) the fragmenting [M+H]+ ions of O,O-diethyl O-aryl phosphorothionates have protons attached on the oxygen of an ethoxy group and on the oxygen of the phenoxy group; (2) thiono-thiolo rearrangement by aryl migration to sulfur occurs; (3) the fragmenting rear-ranged [M+H]+ ions have protons attached on the oxygen of an ethoxy group and on the sulfur of the thiophenoxy group. To get additional support for our interpretation of the mass spectrometric results, some characteristics of three protomers of O,O-diethyl O-phenyl phosphorothionate were investigated by carrying out ab initio molecular orbital calculations at the RHF/3–21G* level of theory.  相似文献
