A boundary integral method is developed for the mixed boundary value problem for the vector Helmholtz equation in R3. The obtained boundary integral equations for the unknown Cauchy data build a strong elliptic system of pseudodifferential equations which can therefore be used for numerical computations using Galerkin's procedure. We show existence, uniqueness and regularity of the solution of the integral equations. Especially we give the local "edge" behavior of the solution near the submanifold which divides the Dirichlet boundary from the Neumann boundary  相似文献

The Dirichlet and Neumann problems for the Laplacian are reformulated in the usual way as boundary integral equations of the first kind with symmetric kernels. These integral equations are solved using Galerkin's method with piecewise-constant and piecewise-linear boundary elements, respectively. In both cases, the stiffness matrix is symmetric and positive-definite, and has a condition number of order N, the number of degrees of freedom. By contrast, the condition number of the product of the two stiffness matrices is bounded independently of N. Hence, we can use the Neumann stiffness matrix to precondition the Dirichlet stiffness matrix, and vice versa. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We provide the numerical analysis of the combination of finite elements and Dirichlet-to-Neumann mappings (based on boundary integral operators) for a class of nonlinear exterior transmission problems whose weak formulations reduce to Lipschitz-continuous and strongly monotone operator equations. As a model we consider a nonlinear second order elliptic equation in divergence form in a bounded inner region of the plane, coupled with the Laplace equation in the corresponding unbounded exterior part. A discrete Galerkin scheme is presented by using linear finite elements on a triangulation of the domain, and then applying numerical quadrature and analytical formulae to evaluate all the linear, bilinear and semilinear forms involved. We prove the unique solvability of the discrete equations, and show the strong convergence of the approximate solutions. Furthermore, assuming additional regularity on the solution of the continuous operator equation, the asymptotic rate of convergence O(h) is also derived. Finally, numerical experiments are presented, which confirm the convergence results.  相似文献

In this paper we present a boundary integral equation method for the numerical conformal mapping of bounded multiply connected region Ω onto a disk with circular slits. The method is based on some uniquely solvable boundary integral equations with classical adjoint and generalized Neumann kernels. These boundary integral equations are constructed from a boundary relationship satisfied by a function analytic on a multiply connected region. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the presented method.  相似文献

In this paper we study the application of boundary integral equation methods for the solution of the third, or Robin, boundary value problem for the exterior Helmholtz equation. In contrast to earlier work, the boundary value problem is interpreted here in a weak sense which allows data to be specified in L (?D), ?D being the boundary of the exterior domain which we assume to be Lyapunov of index 1. For this exterior boundary value problem, we employ Green's theorem to derive a pair of boundary integral equations which have a unique simultaneous solution. We then show that this solution yields a solution of the original exterior boundary value problem.  相似文献

For the computation of the local singular behaviour of an homogeneous anisotropic clastic field near the three-dimensional vertex subjected to displacement boundary conditions, one can use a boundary integral equation of the first kind whose unkown is the boundary stress. Mellin transformation yields a one - dimensional integral equation on the intersection curve 7 of the cone with the unit sphere. The Mellin transformed operator defines the singular exponents and Jordan chains, which provide via inverse Mellin transformation a local expansion of the solution near the vertex. Based on Kondratiev's technique which yields a holomorphic operator pencil of elliptic boundary value problems on the cross - sectional interior and exterior intersection of the unit sphere with the conical interior and exterior original cones, respectively, and using results by Maz'ya and Kozlov, it can be shown how the Jordan chains of the one-dimensional boundary integral equation are related to the corresponding Jordan chains of the operator pencil and their jumps across γ. This allows a new and detailed analysis of the asymptotic behaviour of the boundary integral equation solutions near the vertex of the cone. In particular, the integral equation method developed by Schmitz, Volk and Wendland for the special case of the elastic Dirichlet problem in isotropic homogeneous materials could be completed and generalized to the anisotropic case.  相似文献

In this paper, based on the natural integral operator on elliptic boundary, a nonoverlapping domain decomposition method is presented for a kind of anisotropic elliptic problem with constant coefficients in an exterior domain, and the convergence of the method is analyzed. The choice of the relaxition factor is discussed.Some numerical examples are given. Theoretical analysis as well as numerical examples show that our method is performance.  相似文献

We investigate a free boundary value problem of the stationary Stokes' equations. In a previous paper adapted hydrodynamical potentials have been constructed and their jump relations have been discussed. Here we study a direct method to obtain an equivalent boundary integral equations' system of the first kind. Its solution properties are investigated in the framework of strongly elliptic pseudodifferential operators. For numerical purposes a suitable representation formula for the variational equation is given in terms of integro-differential operators which avoids the evaluation of hypersingular integrals.  相似文献

Based on the coupling of the natural boundary integral method and the finite elements method, we mainly investigate the numerical solution of Neumann problem of harmonic equation in an exterior elliptic. Using our trigonometric wavelets and Galerkin method, there obtained stiffness matrix is symmetrical and circulant, which lead us to a fast numerical method based on fast Fourier transform. Furthermore, we do not need to compute the entries of the stiffness matrix. On the other hand, we prove that the numerical solution possesses exponential convergence rate. Especially, examples state that our method still has good accuracy for small j when the solution u 0(θ) is almost singular.  相似文献

我们熟知,利用位势理论或由Green公式及基本解出发区域内调和及重调和边值问题可归化为边界上的积分方程。近年来冯康又提出一种更自然而直接的归化,即从Green公式及Green函数出发将微分方程边值问题化为边界上的含有广义函数意义下发散积分有限部分的奇异积分方程,这种归化在各种边界归化中占有特殊地位,被称为正则边界归化,本文将这一理论应用于重调和椭圆边值问题,研究了其正则归化的性质,并通过利用Green函数、Fourier分析及复变函数论方法等不同途径求出了在上半平面、单位圆内部、单位圆外部三种区域的Poisson积分公式及正则积分方程,其离散化可用于实际计算。 本文是在导师冯康教授指导下完成的,作者谨在此对他表示衷心的感谢。  相似文献

Both exterior and interior mixed Dirichlet-Neumann problems in R3 for the scalar Helmholtz equation are solved via boundary integral equations. The integral equations are equivalent to the original problem in the sense that the traces of the weak seolution satisfy the integral equations, and, conversely, the solution of the integral equations inserted into Green's formula yields the solution of the mixed boundary value problem. The calculus of pseudodifferential operators is used to prove existence and regularity of the solution of the integral equations. The regularity results — obtained via Wiener-Hopf technique — show the explicit “edge” behavior of the solution near the submanifold which separates the Dirichlet boundary from the Neumann boundary.  相似文献

In this paper we develop and analyze a bootstrapping algorithm for the extraction of potentials and arbitrary derivatives of the Cauchy data of regular three-dimensional second order elliptic boundary value problems in connection with corresponding boundary integral equations. The method rests on the derivatives of the generalized Green's representation formula, which are expressed in terms of singular boundary integrals as Hadamard's finite parts. Their regularization, together with asymptotic pseudohomogeneous kernel expansions, yields a constructive method for obtaining generalized jump relations. These expansions are obtained via composition of Taylor expansions of the local surface representation, the density functions, differential operators and the fundamental solution of the original problem, together with the use of local polar coordinates in the parameter domain. For boundary integral equations obtained by the direct method, this method allows the recursive numerical extraction of potentials and their derivatives near and up to the boundary surface.

Using a standard application of Green's theorem, the exterior Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation in three dimensions is reduced to a pair of integral equations. One integral equation is of the second kind and the other is of the first kind. It is known that the integral equation of the second kind is not uniquely solvable, however, it has been demonstrated that the pair of integral equations has a unique solution. The present approach is based on the observation that the known function appearing in the integral equation of the second kind lies in a certain Banach space E which is a proper subspace of the Banach space of continuous complex-valued functions equipped with the maximum norm. Furthermore, it can be shown that the related integral operator when restricted to E has spectral radius less than unity. Consequently, a particular solution to the integral equation of the second kind can be obtained by the method of successive approximations and the unique solution to the problem is then obtained by using the integral equation of the first kind. Comparisons are made between the present algorithm and other known constructive methods. Finally, an example is supplied to illustrate the method of this paper.  相似文献

Firstly, the Riemann boundary value problem for a kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R 4 is proposed. Then, with the help of the one-to-one correspondence between the theory of Clifford valued generalized regular functions and that of the degenerate elliptic system’s solution, the boundary value problem as stated above is transformed into a boundary value problem related to the generalized regular functions in Clifford analysis. Moreover, the solution of the Riemann boundary value problem for the degenerate elliptic system is explicitly described by using a kind of singular integral operator. Finally, the conditions for the existence of solutions of the oblique derivative problem for another kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R 4 are derived.  相似文献

Solutions of linear elliptic partial differential equations in unbounded domains can be represented by boundary potentials if they satisfy certain conditions at infinity. These radiation conditions depend on the fundamental solution chosen for the integral representation. We prove some basic results about radiation conditions in a rather general framework. Fundamental solutions G are considered that are defined only on the complement of a compact set. It turns out, however, and we present examples for this, that the more interesting results only hold if G is defined on all of ℝn or if it is a Green function for an exterior boundary value problem. © 1997 by B.G. Although the plane boundary value problem for the Laplacian with given Dirichlet data on one part Γ2 and given Neumann data on the remaining part Γ2 of the boundary is the simplest case of mixed boundary value problems, we present several applications in classical mathematical physics. Using Green's formula the problem is converted into a system of Fredholm integral equations for the yet unknown values of the solution u on Γ2 and the also desired values of the normal derivatie on Γ1. One of these equations has principal part of the second kind, whereas that one of the other is of the first kind. Since any improvement of constructive methods requires higher regularity of u but, on the other hand, grad u possesses singularities at the collision points Γ1 ∩ Γ2 even for C data, u is decomposed into special singular terms and a regular rest. This is incorporated into the integral equations and the modified system is solved in appropriate Sobolev spaces. The solution of the system requires to solve a Fredholm equation of the first kind on the arc Γ2 providing an improvement of regularity for the smooth part of u. Since the integral equations form a strongly elliptic system of pseudodifferential operators, the Galerkin procedure converges. Using regular finite element functions on Γ1 and Γ2 augmented by the special singular functions we obtain optimal order of asymptotic convergence in the norm corresponding to the energy norm of u and also superconvergence as well as high orders in smoother norms if the given data are smooth (and not the solution).  相似文献
