We review the theory of strongly elliptic operators on Lie groups and describe some new simplifications. Let U be a continuous representation of a Lie group G on a Banach space and a 1,...,a d a basis of the Lie algebra g of G. We investigate differential operators and their compatibility with subgroups of SL2n(R). In particular, we construct Rankin-Cohen brackets for Hilbert modular forms, and more generally, multilinear differential operators on the space of Hilbert modular forms. As an application, we explicitly determine the Rankin-Cohen bracket of a Hilbert-Eisenstein series and an arbitrary Hilbert modular form. We use this result to compute the Petersson inner product of such a bracket and a Hilbert modular cusp form.  相似文献

It is proved that a Lie algebra of compact operators with a non-zero Volterra ideal is reducible (has a nontrivial invariant subspace). A number of other criteria of reducibility for collections of operators is obtained. The results are applied to the structure theory of Lie algebras of compact operators and normed Lie algebras with compact adjoint action.  相似文献

Let T be a polynomially bounded operator on a Banach space X whose spectrum contains the unit circle. Then T∗ has a nontrivial invariant subspace. In particular, if X is reflexive, then T itself has a nontrivial invariant subspace. This generalizes the well-known result of Brown, Chevreau, and Pearcy for Hilbert space contractions.  相似文献

Let G be a connected simply connected nilpotent Lie group. In [A. Baklouti, N. Ben Salah, The LpLq version of Hardy's Theorem on nilpotent Lie groups, Forum Math. 18 (2006) 245-262], we proved for 2?p,q?+∞ the LpLq version of Hardy's Theorem known as the Cowling-Price Theorem. In the setup where 1?p,q?+∞, the problem is still unsolved and the upshot is known only for few cases. We prove in this paper such a result in the context of 2-NPC nilpotent Lie groups. A proof of the analogue of Beurling's Theorem is also provided in the same context.  相似文献

In [P. Sarnak, Class numbers of indefinite binary quadratic forms, J. Number Theory 15 (1982) 229-247], it was proved that the Selberg zeta function for SL2(Z) is expressed in terms of the fundamental units and the class numbers of the primitive indefinite binary quadratic forms. The aim of this paper is to obtain similar arithmetic expressions of the logarithmic derivatives of the Selberg zeta functions for congruence subgroups of SL2(Z). As applications, we study the Brun-Titchmarsh type prime geodesic theorem and the asymptotic formula of the sum of the class number.  相似文献

We give a sufficient condition for essential self-adjointness of symmetric operators associated with classical Dirichlet forms on Hilbert spaces. Consider the empirical spectral distribution of complex random n×n matrix whose entries are independent and identically distributed random variables with mean zero and variance 1/n. In this paper, via applying potential theory in the complex plane and analyzing extreme singular values, we prove that this distribution converges, with probability one, to the uniform distribution over the unit disk in the complex plane, i.e. the well known circular law, under the finite fourth moment assumption on matrix elements.  相似文献

Some Kolmogorov probability inequalities for quadratic forms and weighted quadratic forms of negative superadditive dependent (NSD) uniformly bounded random variables are provided. Using these inequalities, some complete convergence of randomized quadratic forms under some suitable conditions are evaluated. In this paper we study the asymptotic joint behavior of the maximum and the partial sum of a multivariate Gaussian sequence. The multivariate maximum is defined to be the coordinatewise maximum. Results extend univariate results of McCormick and Qi. We show that, under regularity conditions, if the maximum has a limiting distribution it is asymptotically independent of the partial sum. We also prove that the maximum of a stationary sequence, when normalized in a special sense which includes subtracting the sample mean, is asymptotically independent of the partial sum (again, under regularity conditions). In the present paper we consider the Volterra integration operator V   on the Wiener algebra W(D)W(D) of analytic functions on the unit disc DD of the complex plane CC. A complex number λλ is called an extended eigenvalue of V if there exists a nonzero operator A   satisfying the equation AVVAAV=λVA. We prove that the set of all extended eigenvalues of V   is precisely the set C?{0}C?{0}, and describe in terms of Duhamel operators and composition operators the set of corresponding extended eigenvectors of VV.
