This paper studies the scattering of a TE plane wave from a periodic random surface generated by a stochastic binary sequence using a stochastic functional method. The scattered wave is first expressed as a product of an exponential phase factor and a periodic stationary process. The periodic stationary process is then expressed by a harmonic series representation, that is a 'Fourier series' with 'Fourier coefficients' given by mutually correlated stationary processes. These stationary processes are regarded as stochastic functionals of the binary sequence and they are represented by orthogonal binary functional expansions with band-limited binary kernels. The binary kernels are determined up to the second order from the boundary condition. Then, several statistical properties of the scattering are calculated numerically and illustrated in figures. It is found that, in the binary case, the second-order scattering cross section has a subtractive term and becomes much smaller than the first-order one. 相似文献

In this paper,we discuss the coefficients of Gravitational waveform due to eccentric binaries periastron advance with evolved eccentricity.For the basic harmonic modes(n ≤ 5),the frequency split and corresponding relative strengths in the spectrum are figured out.Taking the well known binary systems PSRB 1913+16 and PSRB 1534+12 as examples,we study the dominant harmonic and its frequency split caused by periastron advance in the spectra,and give an estimation of detectability for PSRB 1913+16 and PSRB 1534+12,which are the promising targets for space observatories of gravitational wave. 相似文献

Harmonic injection locking behavior of millimeter wave second harmonic Gunn oscillators is studied based on an equivalent circuit model. A large signal model of Gunn device in harmonic mode operation is employed. Injection locking curves of voltage amplitude and phase difference between injected current and harmonic voltage are calculated by means of describing function technique. Stability of the locked harmonic oscillators is also investigated. It is revealed that the harmonic locking bandwidth is much smaller than that of fundamental wave oscillators and is closely related to the susceptance slope parameter of fundamental wave circuit. It is also found that the stable region is smaller than that of fundamental wave oscillators. Some conclusions have been made for the application of harmonic injection locking technique. 相似文献

Understanding the generation and growth of nonlinear harmonic (and intermodulation) distortion in microwave amplifiers such as traveling wave tubes (TWTs), free electron lasers (FELs), and klystrons is of current research interest. Similar to FELs, the nonlinear harmonic growth rate scales with the harmonic number in TWTs. In klystrons, the wave number scaling applies to the nonlinear harmonic bunching and associated nonlinear space-charge waves. Using a custom-modified TWT that has sensors along the helix, we provide the first experimental confirmation of the scaling of nonlinear harmonic growth rate and wave number in TWTs. These scalings of a nonlinearly generated harmonic mode versus an injected linear harmonic mode imply that suppression by harmonic injection occurs at a single axial position that can be located as desired by changing the injected amplitude and phase. 相似文献

The inverse problem for harmonic waves and wave packets was studied based on a full dispersive wave equation.First,a full dispersive wave equation which describes wave propagation in nondissipative microstructured linear solids is established based on the Mindlin theory,and the dispersion characteristics are discussed.Second,based on the full dispersive wave equation,an inverse problem for determining the four unknown coefficients of wave equation is posed in terms of the frequencies and corresponding wave numbers of four different harmonic waves,and the inverse problem is demonstrated with rigorous mathematical theory. Research proves that the coefficients of wave equation related to material properties can be uniquely determined in cases of normal and anomalous dispersions by measuring the frequencies and corresponding wave numbers of four different harmonic waves which propagate in a nondissipative microstructured linear solids. 相似文献

Parametric simultaneous solitary wave (simulton) excitations are shown to be possible in nonlinear lattices. Taking a one-dimensional diatomic lattice with a cubic potential as an example, we consider the nonlinear coupling between the upper cut-off mode of acoustic branch (as a fundamental wave) and the upper cut-off mode of optical branch (as a second harmonic wave). Based on a quasi-discreteness approach the Karamzin-Sukhorukov equations for two slowly varying amplitudes of the fundamental and the second harmonic waves in the lattice are derived when the condition of second harmonic generation is satisfied. The lattice simulton solutions are given explicitly and the results show that these lattice simultons can be nonpropagating when the wave vectors of the fundamental wave and the second harmonic waves are exactly at π/a (where a is the lattice constant) and zero, respectively. 相似文献
