We consider quadratic functions f that satisfy the additional equation y2 f(x) =  x2 f(y) for the pairs \({ (x,y) \in \mathbb{R}^2}\) that fulfill the condition P(x, y) =  0 for some fixed polynomial P of two variables. If P(x, y) =  axbyc with \({ a , b , c \in \mathbb{R}}\) and \({(a^2 + b^2)c \neq 0}\) or P(x,y) =  x n ? y with a natural number \({n \geq 2}\), we prove that f(x) =  f(1) x2 for all \({x \in \mathbb{R}}\). Some related problems, admitting quadratic functions generated by derivations, are considered as well.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence of positive solutions of the third-order boundary value problem with full nonlinearity
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} u'''(t)&{}=f(t,u(t),u'(t),u''(t)),\quad t\in [0,1],\\ u(0)&{}=u'(1)=u''(1)=0, \end{array}\right. \end{aligned}$$
where \(f:[0,1]\times \mathbb {R}^+\times \mathbb {R}^+\times \mathbb {R}^-\rightarrow \mathbb {R}^+\) is continuous. Under some inequality conditions on f as |(xyz)| small or large enough, the existence results of positive solution are obtained. These inequality conditions allow that f(txyz) may be superlinear, sublinear or asymptotically linear on x, y and z as \(|(x,y,z)|\rightarrow 0\) and \(|(x,y,z)|\rightarrow \infty \). For the superlinear case as \(|(x,y,z)|\rightarrow \infty \), a Nagumo-type growth condition is presented to restrict the growth of f on y and z. Our discussion is based on the fixed point index theory in cones.

We study the heat kernel p(x,y,t) associated to the real Schrödinger operator H=?Δ + V on \(L^{2}(\mathbb {R}^{n})\), n≥1. Our main result is a pointwise upper bound on p when the potential \(V \in A_{\infty }\). In the case that \(V\in RH_{\infty }\), we also prove a lower bound. Additionally, we compute p explicitly when V is a quadratic polynomial.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for the following second-order p(t)-Laplacian–Hamiltonian systems
$$\frac{{\rm d}}{{\rm d}t}(|\dot{u}(t)|^{p(t)-2}\dot{u}(t))-a(t)|u(t)|^{p(t)-2}u(t)+\nabla W(t,u(t))=0,$$
where \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\), \({u \in \mathbb{R}^n}\), \({p \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\) with p(t) > 1, \({a \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\), \({W\in C^1(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{R})}\) and \({\nabla W(t,u)}\) is the gradient of W(t, u) in u. The point is that, assuming that a(t) is bounded in the sense that there are constants \({0<\tau_1<\tau_2<\infty}\) such that \({\tau_1\leq a(t)\leq \tau_2 }\) for all \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\) and W(t, u) is of super-p(t) growth or sub-p(t) growth as \({|u|\rightarrow \infty}\), we provide two new criteria to ensure the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions, respectively. Recent results in the literature are extended and significantly improved.

Let f (x 1, . . . , x s ) be a regular indefinite integral quadratic form, and t an integer. Denote by V the affine quadric {x : f (x) = t}, and by \({V(\mathbb {P})}\) the set of \({{\bf x}\in V}\) whose coordinates are simultaneously prime. It is proved that, under suitable conditions, \({V(\mathbb{P})}\) is Zariski dense in V as long as s ≥ 10.  相似文献

Let M be a smooth compact oriented Riemannian manifold, and let Δ M be the Laplace–Beltrami operator on M. Say \({0 \neq f \in \mathcal{S}(\mathbb {R}^+)}\) , and that f (0)  =  0. For t  >  0, let K t (x, y) denote the kernel of f (t 2 Δ M ). We show that K t is well-localized near the diagonal, in the sense that it satisfies estimates akin to those satisfied by the kernel of the convolution operator f (t 2Δ) on \({\mathbb {R}^n}\) . We define continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelets on M, in such a manner that K t (x, y) satisfies this definition, because of its localization near the diagonal. Continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelets on M are analogous to continuous wavelets on \({\mathbb {R}^n}\) in \({\mathcal {S}}\) (\({\mathbb {R}^n}\)). In particular, we are able to characterize the Hölder continuous functions on M by the size of their continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelet transforms, for Hölder exponents strictly between 0 and 1. If M is the torus \({\mathbb T^2}\) or the sphere S 2, and f (s)  =  se ?s (the “Mexican hat” situation), we obtain two explicit approximate formulas for K t , one to be used when t is large, and one to be used when t is small.  相似文献

We consider the system of differential inclusions
$$\dot x \in \mu F(t, x, y, \mu ), x(0) = x_0 , \dot y \in G(t, x, y, \mu ), y(0) = y_0 $$
, where F,G: D (\(R^{m_1 } \)), (\(R^{m_2 } \)) are mappings into the sets of nonempty convex compact sets in the Euclidean spaces \(R^{m_1 } \) and \(R^{m_2 } \), respectively, D = R + × \(R^{m_1 } \) × \(R^{m_2 } \) × [0, a], a > 0, and µ is a small parameter. The functions F and G and the right-hand side of the averaged problem \(\dot u\) ∈ µF 0(u), u(0) = x 0, F 0(u) ∈ (\(R^{m_1 } \)), satisfy the one-sided Lipschitz condition with respect to the corresponding phase variables. Under these and some other conditions, we prove that, for each ? > 0, there exists a µ > 0 such that, for an arbitrary µ ∈ (0, µ0] and any solution x µ(·), y µ(·) of the original problem, there exists a solution u µ(·) of the averaged problem such that ∥x µ(t) ? y µ(t) ∥ ≤ ? for t ∈ [0, 1/µ]. Furthermore, for each solution u µ(·)of the averaged problem, there exists a solution x µ(·), y µ(·) of the original problem with the same estimate.

It is well-known that there is a deep interplay between analysis and probability theory. For example, for a Markovian infinitesimal generator \({\mathcal{L}}\) , the transition density function p(t, x, y) of the Markov process associated with \({\mathcal{L}}\) (if it exists) is the fundamental solution (or heat kernel) of \({\mathcal{L}}\) . A fundamental problem in analysis and in probability theory is to obtain sharp estimates of p(t, x, y). In this paper, we consider a class of non-local (integro-differential) operators \({\mathcal{L}}\) on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\) of the form
$\mathcal{L}u(x) = \lim\limits_{{\varepsilon \downarrow 0}} \int\limits_{\{y\in \mathbb {R}^d: \, |y-x| > \varepsilon\}} (u(y)-u(x)) J(x, y) dy,$
where \({\displaystyle J(x, y)= \frac{c (x, y)}{|x-y|^{d+\alpha}} {\bf 1}_{\{|x-y| \leq \kappa\}}}\) for some constant \({\kappa > 0}\) and a measurable symmetric function c(x, y) that is bounded between two positive constants. Associated with such a non-local operator \({\mathcal{L}}\) is an \({\mathbb{R}^d}\) -valued symmetric jump process of finite range with jumping kernel J(x, y). We establish sharp two-sided heat kernel estimate and derive parabolic Harnack principle for them. Along the way, some new heat kernel estimates are obtained for more general finite range jump processes that were studied in (Barlow et al. in Trans Am Math Soc, 2008). One of our key tools is a new form of weighted Poincaré inequality of fractional order, which corresponds to the one established by Jerison in (Duke Math J 53(2):503–523, 1986) for differential operators. Using Meyer’s construction of adding new jumps, we also obtain various a priori estimates such as Hölder continuity estimates for parabolic functions of jump processes (not necessarily of finite range) where only a very mild integrability condition is assumed for large jumps. To establish these results, we employ methods from both probability theory and analysis extensively.

In this paper we investigate the existence of permutation polynomials of the form x d  + L(x) on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) , where \({{L(x)\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}[x]}}\) is a linearized polynomial. It is shown that for some special d with gcd(d, 2 n ?1) > 1, x d  + L(x) is nerve a permutation on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) for any linearized polynomial \({{L(x)\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}[x]}}\) . For the Gold functions \({{x^{2^i+1}}}\) , it is shown that \({{x^{2^i+1}+L(x)}}\) is a permutation on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) if and only if n is odd and \({{L(x)=\alpha^{2^i}x+\alpha x^{2^i}}}\) for some \({{\alpha\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}^{*}}}\) . We also disprove a conjecture in (Macchetti Addendum to on the generalized linear equivalence of functions over finite fields. Cryptology ePrint Archive, Report2004/347, 2004) in a very simple way. At last some interesting results concerning permutation polynomials of the form x ?1 + L(x) are given.  相似文献

Given an i.i.d sample (Y i , Z i ), taking values in \({\mathbb{R}^{d'}\times\mathbb{R}^d}\), we consider a collection Nadarya–Watson kernel estimators of the conditional expectations \({\mathbb{E}( <\,c_g(z),g(Y)>+d_g(z)\mid Z=z)}\), where z belongs to a compact set \({H\subset \mathbb{R}^d}\), g a Borel function on \({\mathbb{R}^{d'}}\) and c g (·), d g (·) are continuous functions on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\). Given two bandwidth sequences \({h_n<\mathfrak{h}_n}\) fulfilling mild conditions, we obtain an exact and explicit almost sure limit bounds for the deviations of these estimators around their expectations, uniformly in \({g\in\mathcal{G},\;z\in H}\) and \({h_n\le h\le \mathfrak{h}_n}\) under mild conditions on the density f Z , the class \({\mathcal{G}}\), the kernel K and the functions c g (·), d g (·). We apply this result to prove that smoothed empirical likelihood can be used to build confidence intervals for conditional probabilities \({\mathbb{P}( Y\in C\mid Z=z)}\), that hold uniformly in \({z\in H,\; C\in \mathcal{C},\; h\in [h_n,\mathfrak{h}_n]}\). Here \({\mathcal{C}}\) is a Vapnik–Chervonenkis class of sets.  相似文献

We consider the perturbed Schrödinger equation
$\left\{\begin{array}{ll}{- \varepsilon ^2 \Delta u + V(x)u = P(x)|u|^{p - 2} u + k(x)|u|^{2* - 2} u} &; {\text{for}}\, x \in {\mathbb{R}}^N\\ \qquad \qquad \quad {u(x) \rightarrow 0} &; \text{as}\, {|x| \rightarrow \infty} \end{array} \right.$
where \(N\geq 3, \ 2^*=2N/(N-2)\) is the Sobolev critical exponent, \(p\in (2, 2^*)\) , P(x) and K(x) are bounded positive functions. Under proper conditions on V we show that it has at least one positive solution provided that \(\varepsilon\leq{\mathcal{E}}\) ; for any \(m\in{\mathbb{N}}\) , it has m pairs of solutions if \(\varepsilon\leq{\mathcal{E}}_{m}\) ; and suppose there exists an orthogonal involution \(\tau:{\mathbb{R}}^{N}\to{\mathbb{R}}^{N}\) such that V(x), P(x) and K(x) are τ -invariant, then it has at least one pair of solutions which change sign exactly once provided that \(\varepsilon\leq{\mathcal{E}}\) , where \({\mathcal{E}}\) and \({\mathcal{E}}_{m}\) are sufficiently small positive numbers. Moreover, these solutions \(u_\varepsilon\to 0\) in \(H^1({\mathbb{R}}^N)\) as \(\varepsilon\to 0\) .

In this paper we consider the Schrödinger operator ?Δ + V on \({\mathbb R^d}\), where the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Hölder class \({B_{q_{_1}}}\) for some \({q_{_1}\geq \frac{d}{2}}\) with d ≥ 3. Let \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) denote the Hardy space related to the Schrödinger operator L = ?Δ + V and \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) be the dual space of \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\). We show that the Schrödinger type operator \({\nabla(-\Delta +V)^{-\beta}}\) is bounded from \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{d-(2\beta-1)}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta<\frac{3}{2} }\) and that it is also bounded from \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{2\beta-1}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta< 2}\).  相似文献

Let \(\mathcal Lf(x)=-\Delta f (x)+V(x)f(x)\), V?≥?0, \(V\in L^1_{loc}(\mathbb R^d)\), be a non-negative self-adjoint Schrödinger operator on \(\mathbb R^d\). We say that an L 1-function f is an element of the Hardy space \(H^1_{\mathcal L}\) if the maximal function
$ \mathcal M_{\mathcal L} f(x)=\sup\limits_{t>0}|e^{-t\mathcal L} f(x)| $
belongs to \(L^1(\mathbb R^d)\). We prove that under certain assumptions on V the space \(H^1_{\mathcal L}\) is also characterized by the Riesz transforms \(R_j=\frac{\partial}{\partial x_j}\mathcal L^{-1\slash 2}\), j?=?1,...,d, associated with \(\mathcal L\). As an example of such a potential V one can take any V?≥?0, \(V\in L^1_{loc}\), in one dimension.

We consider the model space \(\mathbb {M}^{n}_{K}\) of constant curvature K and dimension \(n\ge 1\) (Euclidean space for \(K=0\), sphere for \(K>0\) and hyperbolic space for \(K<0\)), and we show that given a function \(\rho :[0,\infty )\rightarrow [0, \infty )\) with \(\rho (0)=\mathrm {dist}(x,y)\) there exists a coadapted coupling (X(t), Y(t)) of Brownian motions on \(\mathbb {M}^{n}_{K}\) starting at (xy) such that \(\rho (t)=\mathrm {dist}(X(t),Y(t))\) for every \(t\ge 0\) if and only if \(\rho \) is continuous and satisfies for almost every \(t\ge 0\) the differential inequality
$$\begin{aligned} -(n-1)\sqrt{K}\tan \left( \tfrac{\sqrt{K}\rho (t)}{2}\right) \le \rho '(t)\le -(n-1)\sqrt{K}\tan \left( \tfrac{\sqrt{K}\rho (t)}{2}\right) +\tfrac{2(n-1)\sqrt{K}}{\sin (\sqrt{K}\rho (t))}. \end{aligned}$$
In other words, we characterize all coadapted couplings of Brownian motions on the model space \(\mathbb {M}^{n}_{K}\) for which the distance between the processes is deterministic. In addition, the construction of the coupling is explicit for every choice of \(\rho \) satisfying the above hypotheses.

This paper is concerned with the following Kirchhoff-type equations:
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} \displaystyle -\big (a+b\int _{\mathbb {R}^{3}}|\nabla u|^{2}\mathrm {d}x\big )\Delta u+ V(x)u+\mu \phi |u|^{p-2}u=f(x, u)+g(x,u), &{} \text{ in } \mathbb {R}^{3},\\ (-\Delta )^{\frac{\alpha }{2}} \phi = \mu |u|^{p}, &{} \text{ in } \mathbb {R}^{3},\\ \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$
where \(a>0,~b,~\mu \ge 0\) are constants, \(\alpha \in (0,3)\), \(p\in [2,3+2\alpha )\), the potential V(x) may be unbounded from below and \(\phi |u|^{p-2}u\) is a Hartree-type nonlinearity. Under some mild conditions on V(x), f(xu) and g(xu), we prove that the above system has infinitely many nontrivial solutions. Specially, our results cover the general Schrödinger equations, the Kirchhoff equations and the Schrödinger–Poisson system.

Let \({{\{ V(t) | \ t \in [0 , \infty) \}}}\) be a one-parameter strongly continuous semigroup of contractions on a separable Hilbert space and let V(?t) : = V*(t) for \({t \in [0, \infty)}\). It is shown that if V(t) is a partial isometry for all \({t \in [-t_0 , t_0], t_0 > 0}\), then the pointwise two-sided derivative of V(t) exists on a dense domain of vectors. This derivative B is necessarily a densely defined symmetric operator. This result can be viewed as a generalization of Stone’s theorem for one-parameter strongly continuous unitary groups, and is used to establish sufficient conditions for a self-adjoint operator on a Hilbert space \({\mathcal{K}}\) to have a symmetric restriction to a dense linear manifold of a closed subspace \({\mathcal H \subset \mathcal K}\). A large class of examples of such semigroups consisting of the compression of the unitary group generated by the operator of multiplication by the independent variable in \({\mathcal {K} := \oplus _{i=1} ^n L^2 (\mathbb {R})}\) to certain model subspaces of the Hardy space of n?compenent vector valued functions which are analytic in the upper half plane is presented.  相似文献

For any 1 < p < ∞ and any \({X, Y\in \mathbb{R}}\) satisfying \({|X|\leq Y}\) , we determine the optimal constant C p (X,Y) such that the following holds. If F is a holomorphic function on the unit disc satisfying ReF(0) = X and \({||{\rm Re}F||_{L^{p}(\mathbb{T})}=Y}\) , then
$$||F||_{L^p(\mathbb{T})}\geq C_p(X,Y).$$
This can be regarded as a reverse version of the classical estimates of Riesz and Essén. The proof rests on the exploitation of certain families of special subharmonic functions on the plane.

We deal with functions which fulfil the condition \({\Delta_h^{n+1} \varphi(x)\in\mathbb{Z}}\) for all x, h taken from some linear space V. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for such a function to be decent in the following sense: there exist functions \({f\colon V\rightarrow \mathbb{R},\ g\colon V \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}}\) such that \({\varphi = f + g}\) and \({\Delta_h^{n+1}f(x)=0}\) for all \({x, h\in V}\).  相似文献

We study the nonlinear Schrödinger equations: \(-\epsilon^{2}\Delta u + V(x)u=u^p,\quad u > 0\quad \mbox{in } {\bf R}^{N},\quad u\in H^{1} ({\bf R}^{N}).\) where p > 1 is a subcritical exponent and V(x) is nonnegative potential function which has “critical frequency” \(\inf_{x\in{\bf R}^{N}} V(x)=0\). We also assume that V(x) satisfies \(0 < \liminf_{|x|\to\infty}V(x)\le \sup_{x\in{\bf R}^{N}}V(x) < \infty\) and V(x) has k local or global minima. In critical frequency cases, Byeon-Wang [5,6] showed the existence of single-peak solutions which concentrating around global minimum of V(x). Their limiting profiles—which depend on the local behavior of the potential V(x)—are quite different features from non-critical frequency case. We show the existence of multi-peak positive solutions joining single-peak solutions which concentrate around prescribed local or global minima of V(x). Moreover, under additional conditions on the behavior of V(x), we state the limiting profiles of peaks of solutions u ε(x) as follows: rescaled function \(w_\epsilon(y)=\left(\frac{g(\epsilon)}{\epsilon}\right)^{\frac{2}{p-1}} u_\epsilon(g(\epsilon)y+x_\epsilon)\) converges to a least energy solution of ?Δw + V 0(y) ww p , w > 0 in Ω0, \(w\in H^{1}_0(\Omega_0)\). Here g(ε), V 0(x) and Ω0 depend on the local behaviors of V(x).  相似文献
