We study Lp-theory of second-order elliptic divergence-type operators with measurable coefficients. To this end, we introduce a new method of constructing positive C0-semigroups on Lp associated with sesquilinear (not necessarily sectorial) forms in L2. A precise condition ensuring that the elliptic operator is associated with a quasi-contractive C0-semigroup on Lp is established.  相似文献

We prove a number of results concerning isomorphisms between spaces of the type Lp(X), where X is a separable p-Banach space and 0 < p < 1. Our results imply that the quotient of Lp([0, 1] × [0, 1]) by the subspace of functions depending only on the first variable is not isomorphic to Lp, answering a question of N. T. Peck. More generally if B0 is a sub-σ-algebra of the Borel sets of [0, 1], then Lp([0, 1])Lp([0, 1], B0) is isomorphic to Lp if and only if Lp([0, 1], B0) is complemented. We also show that Lp has, up to isomorphism, at most one complemented subspace non-isomorphic to Lp and classify completely those spaces X for which Lp(X) ? Lp. In particular if L(Lp, X) = {0} and Lp(X) ? Lp then X ? lp or is finite-dimensional. If X has trivial dual and Lp(X) ? Lpthen X ? Lp.  相似文献

We study positive C0-semigroups on Lp associated with second-order uniformly elliptic divergence-type operators with singular lower-order terms, subject to a wide class of boundary conditions. We obtain an interval (pmin, pmax) in the Lp-scale where these semigroups can be defined, including the case 2∉(pmin, pmax). We present an example showing that the result is optimal. We also show that the semigroups are analytic with angles of analyticity and spectra of the generators independent of p, for the whole range of p where the semigroups are defined.  相似文献

We consider linear operators T mapping a couple of weighted Lp spaces {Lp0(U0), Lp1(U1)} into {Lq0(V0),Lq1(V1)} for any 1?p0, p1, q0, q1?∞, and describe the interpolation orbit of any aLp0(U0)+Lp1(U1) that is we describe a space of all {Ta}, where T runs over all linear bounded mappings from {Lp0(U0),Lp1(U1)} into {Lq0(V0),Lq1(V1)}. We show that interpolation orbit is obtained by the Lions–Peetre method of means with functional parameter as well as by the K-method with a weighted Orlicz space as a parameter. Let G be an exceptional Lie group G2, F4, E6, E7 or E8, and also set p is the corresponding prime 7, 13, 13, 19 or 31 respectively. If we localize spaces at p, G can be decomposed into a product of spheres. Using this decomposition, we take some elements in the homotopy groups of p-localized G, and we offer some non-zero 3-fold Samelson products of them. This implies that the nilpotency class of the localized self-homotopy group of G is greater than or equal to 3.The key lemma for these results is about a calculation on the cohomology operator P1 in the cohomology of BG, where G and p are as above. During this calculation, we use some original ideas, which are also used in Kishimoto and Kaji (in press) [7] recently.  相似文献

We derive a sharp nonasymptotic bound of parameter estimation of the L1/2 regularization.The bound shows that the solutions of the L1/2 regularization can achieve a loss within logarithmic factor of an ideal mean squared error and therefore underlies the feasibility and effectiveness of the L1/2regularization.Interestingly,when applied to compressive sensing,the L1/2 regularization scheme has exhibited a very promising capability of completed recovery from a much less sampling information.As compared with the Lp(0 p 1) penalty,it is appeared that the L1/2 penalty can always yield the most sparse solution among all the Lp penalty when 1/2 ≤ p 1,and when 0 p 1/2,the Lp penalty exhibits the similar properties as the L1/2 penalty.This suggests that the L1/2 regularization scheme can be accepted as the best and therefore the representative of all the Lp(0 p 1) regularization schemes.  相似文献

Let (T, Σ, μ) be a measure space, E a Banach space, and Lp(E, μ) the Lebesque-Bochner function spaces for 1 < p < ∞. It is shown that Lp(E, μ) is smooth if and only if E is smooth. From this result a Radon-Nikodym theorem for conjugates of smooth Banach spaces is established, and thus a general geometric condition on E sufficient to ensure that Lp(E, μ)1 ? The equation ut=Δp(u1/(p−1)) for p>1 is a nonlinear generalization of the heat equation which is also homogeneous, of degree 1. For large time asymptotics, its links with the optimal Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality have recently been investigated. Here we focus on the existence and the uniqueness of the solutions to the Cauchy problem and on the regularization properties (hypercontractivity and ultracontractivity) of the equation using the Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality. A large deviation result based on a Hamilton-Jacobi equation and also related to the Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality is then stated.  相似文献

Using these notions, the author studies the setL of infinite non-repetitive words over {1,2,3}, and its proper subsetsL 121,L 121,323,L 121,212, where words ofL 121 (L 121,323;L 121,212) do not contain 121 (121,323;121,212) as subwords. The uniqueness of monosplines and perfect splines of leastL p-norm is treated in the framework of generalized monosplines and total positivity. The analysis is based on the invariance properties of the degree of a certain mapping and on a new composition result for totally positive kernels. For theL p-case 1<p<∞, uniqueness is shown under the same extra conditions as were previously shown to be needed in theL p-case. The main idea of this paper is to clarify why it is sometimes incorrect to interpolate inequalities in a “formal” way. For this we consider two Hardy type inequalities, which are true for each parameter α≠0 but which fail for the “critical” point α=0. This means that we cannot interpolate these inequalities between the noncritical points α=1 and α=?1 and conclude that it is also true at the critical point α=0. Why? An accurate analysis shows that this problem is connected with the investigation of the interpolation of intersections (NL p(w0), N∩Lp(w1)), whereN is the linear space which consists of all functions with the integral equal to 0. We calculate theK-functional for the couple (NL p(w0),NL p (w1)), which turns out to be essentially different from theK-functional for (L p(w0), Lp(w1)), even for the case whenNL p(wi) is dense inL p(wi) (i=0,1). This essential difference is the reason why the “naive” interpolation above gives an incorrect result.  相似文献

We announce results on rectifiability of singular sets of pointed metric spaces which are pointed Gromov–Hausdorff limits on sequences of Riemannian manifolds, satisfying uniform lower bounds on Ricci curvature and volume, and uniform Lp-bounds on curvature. The rectifiability theorems depend on estimates for |Hessh|L2p, (|?Hessh·|Hessh|p?2)L2, where Δh=c, for some constant c. We also observe that (absent any integral bound on curvature) in the Kähler case, given a uniform 2-sided bound on Ricci curvature, the singular set has complex codimension 2. The unitary group U(n) has elements εiπ2i+1(U(n)) (0?i?n−1) of its homotopy groups in the stable range. In this paper we show that certain multi Samelson products of type 〈εi,〈εj,εk〉〉 are non-trivial. This leads us to the result that the nilpotency class of the group of the self homotopy set [SU(n),SU(n)] is no less than 3, if 4?n.
