To enhance the applicability of the nuclear analytical technique in the field of industry and the environment, the inorganic elemental content of the bottom ash from a municipal solid waste incinerator was determined by instrumental neutron activation analysis. Bottom ash samples were monthly collected from an incinerator located at a metropolitan city in Korea, strained through a 5 mm sieve, dried by an oven and pulverized by an agate mortar. The samples were irradiated at the NAA #1 irradiation hole (thermal neutron flux: 2.92·1013 n·cm−2·s−1) in the HANARO research reactor of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and the irradiated samples were measured by a HP Ge gamma-ray spectrometer. Thirty-three elements including As, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Sb and Zn were analyzed by an absolute method. The quality control was conducted by a simultaneous analysis with NIST standard reference materials. The average concentrations of the major elements such as Ca, Fe, Al, Na, Mg, K and Ti measured in the sample were 19.9%, 4.85%, 3.79%, 2.11%, 1.84%, 1.22% and 1.02%, respectively. In addition, the concentrations of the hazardous metals like Zn, Cu, Cr, Sb and As were 0.77%, 0.31%, 729 mg·kg−1, 116 mg·kg−1 and 22.2 mg·kg−1, respectively.  相似文献

The electrochemical behavior of the ofloxacin–copper complex, Cu(II)L2, at a mercury electrode, and the interaction of DNA with the complex have been investigated. The experiments indicate that the electrode reaction of Cu(II)L2 is an irreversible surface electrochemical reaction and that the reactant is of adsorbed character. In the presence of DNA, the formation of the electrochemically non-active complexes Cu(II)L2-DNA, results in the decrease of the peak current of Cu(II)L2. Based on the electrochemical behavior of the Cu(II)L2 with DNA, binding by electrostatic interaction is suggested and a new method for determining nucleic acid is proposed. Under the optimum conditions, the decrease of the peak current is in proportional to the concentration of nucleic acids in the range from 3 × 10−8 to 3 × 10−6 g · mL−1 for calf thymus DNA, from 1.6 × 10−8 to 9.0 × 10−7 g · mL−1 for fish sperm DNA, and from 3.3 × 10−8 to 5.5 × 10−7 g · mL−1 for yeast RNA. The detection limits are 3.3 × 10−9, 6.7 × 10−9 and 8.0 × 10−9 g · mL−1, respectively. The method exhibits good recovery and high sensitivity in synthetic samples and in real samples.  相似文献

The possibility of using coprecipitation on Cu(OH)2·nH2O and Fe2O3·nH2O precipitates to separate a part of zirconium unreacted with complexone in the presence of a 100-fold amount of impurities has been examined. The reaction between ethylenedia-minetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and zirconium 10−3−10−5 M has been used as substoichiometric reaction. A zirconium determination in the concentration range of 10−4−10−6 g/ml in artificial mixtures and steel samples has been developed using the systems of EDTA-Zr−Cu(OH)2·nH2O and EDTA−Zr−Fe2O3·nH2O.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of iron (III) acrylate, [Fe3O(CH2=CHCOO)6 · 3H2O]OH (FeAcr), a monomer with a complex cluster cation, has been studied at 200–370 °C. Thermal transformations of FeAcr occur in two temperature regions. The rates of gas evolution in the low temperature region (200–300 °C) and the high temperature region (300–370 °C) are described by first-order equations withk=4.2 · 1021exp[−59000/(RT)] s−1 andk=1.3 · 106exp[−30500/(RT)] s−1, respectively. A study of the qualitative and quantitative composition of the products of FeAcr thermolysis was carried out. The thermal transformation of FeAcr is a complex process of dehydration, degradation, and polymerization in the solid phase followed by decarboxylation of the metal-carboxyl groups of the polymer. for part 33 see Ref. 1. Activation analysis and autoradiography were used to investigate the concentration distribution of contaminants in poly-Si−Si3N4−SiO2−Si substrate multilayer structures (SNOS) on sampling each technological product. Samples were irradiated for 36 hrs at a thermal neutron flux of 4·1013n·cm−2·sec−1. The thin films of the analysed sample were removed stepwise by selective chemical etching using appropriate masking techniques. Simultaneously autoradiographs were made of the surface of parallel samples activated under the same conditions. The concentration of the technological contaminants (e.g. Na, Cu, Au) increases in the junction interface of the layers as unambiguously shown by the results obtained. The concentrations of iodine in fresh waters are known to be within the range of 0.5 to 35 ng·ml−1, much lower than in oceanic waters. The iodine concentrations, particularly that of129I which is significant from the radiation safety aspect, in public drinking waters have to be specified in order to verify the required level before distribution for domestic use. A modified version of an established method was used in the adsorption of iodine, iodate, total inorganic iodine and charcoal-adsorbable iodine using activated carbon prepared from oil palm kernel wastes. A thorough investigation of the physical properties of the activated carbon was carried out to determine its viability as an adsorbent for volatile species such as iodine. The iodine species were preconcentrated from water samples collected from wells in villages and from water intake points along rivers. The quantitative analysis of the species adsorbed was done by irradiating the activated charcoal loaded with the respective species in a neutron flux of 5.1·1012 n·cm−2·s−1 from a TRIGA MkII, nuclear reactor. Recovery experiments using spiked samples was done to provide quality assurance controls.  相似文献

An ensemble of carbon fibers ultra-microelectrode modified with carbon nanotubes (EUME-CNTS) has been constructed based on a thin carbon nanotubes film which was coated onto surfaces of carbon fibers of ultra-microelectrode. SEM micrographs illustrated the image of carbon nanotubes on the carbon fiber surface. The electrochemical characteristics of the EUME-CNTS has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical properties of dopamine on this electrode were also studied, and the detection limit was found to be 2.0 × 10−9 mol·L−1. Linear calibration plots were obtained for the oxidation peak current in a range 1.0 × 10−7–8.0 × 10−5 mol·L−1. Representative banded iron-formations (BIFs) from various locations of the eastern Indian geological belt were investigated by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). After pre-concentration, irradiation was carried out using a neutron flux of 5.1·1016 m−2·s−1, 1.0·1015 m−2·s−1 and 3.7·1015 m−2s−1, with thermal, epi-thermal and fast neutrons, respectively. The activities in these samples were measured by a HPGe detector. Ten rare-earth elements, such as La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Ho, Tm, Yb and Lu, have been qualitatively identified and quantitatively estimated in these samples. The present investigation is an example of employing a pre-concentration method for high iron-containing ores prior to neutron activation analysis.  相似文献

A new tripodal rhodamine B derivative 2 was designed and synthesized by tripodal trialdehyde and rhodamine B hydrazide for the first time. This derivative could be used as a fluorescent chemosensor for the selective and sensitive determination of copper(II) in Tris-HCl buffer and ethanol aqueous mixed media. Under the optimum conditions described herein, fluorescence enhancement at 557/577 nm was linearly related to the concentration of copper(II) in the range of 0.10 to 10.00×10−5 mol·L−1, with a correlation coefficient of R 2=0.9964 (n=15) and a detection limit of 1.129×10−7 mol·L−1 (the relative standard deviation for five repeated measurements at 4.00×10−5 mol·L−1 Cu(II) was 2.2%). The absorbance measurements at 557 nm were linearly related to the concentration of Cu(II) in the range of 0.50 to 25.00×10−5 mol·L−1, with a correlation coefficient of R 2=0.9948 (n=13) and a detection limit of 3.338×10−7mol·L−1. Hydroxyl radicals were generated radiolytically in N2O-saturated aqueous solutions of the aminoglycoside antibiotic, gentamycin. Using the pulse radiolysis technique, the rate constant of OH radicals with gentamycin determined was 1.2·109 dm3·mol−1·s−1. Upon.OH attack a transient species with an absorption maximum at 270 nm is observed which decays by second-order kinetics within the solute concentration range of 3.2·10−5 to 1·10−3mol·dm−3. Transient species undergoes transformation to a permanent product absorbing between 260 and 340 nm with maximum absorption at 300 nm. Rate constant of the reaction of bimolecular decay of gentamycin radicals, k (Gen.+Gen.) was found to be ≈ 1.4·107 dm3·mol−1·s−1.  相似文献

A piece of fused-silica fibre coated with silica modified with ketamine-groups was used as a solidphase microextraction (SPME) fibre and its efficiency in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile organic compounds released from coloured overprinting on DVDs was evaluated. The effect of the parameters that can affect the SPME procedure, such as extraction time, extraction temperature, desorption temperature, was investigated to determine the analytical performance of this novel fibre in the qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic compounds. The optimised procedure was applied to the qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic compounds released from coloured overprinting on DVDs. The limit of detection of 4-methoxyphenol (mequinol) was 88 × 10−3 μg mL−1, while the limit of quantification (LOQ) was calculated as ten times the baseline noise, i.e. 3.1 × 10−1 μg mL−1. The proposed fibre was used successfully for preconcentration of the volatile organic compounds from the gaseous phase of DVD samples.  相似文献

A method has been worked out for the determination of Mn, Cu, Zn, K and Na in tissue biopsies weighing between 10 and 50 mg. The samples were dried, packed in polyethylene containers and irradiated at a flux of 1.8·1012 n·cm−2·sec−1 for 48 hrs. They were dissolved and separated into five fractions by ion exchange chromatography. Managenese was precipitated and counted as MnO2 and zinc as quinaldate. Copper and potassium were counted in solution. Sodium was taken up in hydrated antimony pentoxide (HAP) and counted in that stage. Accuracy, precision and specificity were determined by recovery experiments and by analysis ofBowen's biological standard.  相似文献

The role of dead biomasses viz., mango (Mangifera indica) and neem (Azadirachta indica) bark samples are assessed in the removal behavior of, one of important fission fragments, Cs(I) from aqueous solutions employing a radiotracer technique. The batch type studies were carried out to obtain various physico-chemical data. It is to be noted that the increase in sorptive concentration (from 1.0·10−8 to 1.0·10−2 mol·dm−3), temperature (from 298 to 328 K) and pH (2.6 to 10.3) apparently favor the uptake of Cs(I) by these two bark samples. The concentration dependence data obeyed Freundlich adsorption isotherm and the uptake follows first order rate law. Thermodynamic data evaluation and desorption experiments reveal the adsorption to be irreversible and endothermic in nature proceeding through ion-exchange and surface complexation for both dead biomasses. Both bark samples showed a fairly good radiation stability in respect of adsorption uptake of Cs(I) when irradiated with a 300 mCi (Ra-Be) neutron source having an integral neutron flux of ∼3.85·106 n·cm−2·s−1 and associated with a nominal γ-dose of ∼1.72 Gy·h−1.  相似文献

Two new hybrid organic–inorganic salts, [BzDMAP]2[Cu(mnt)2](1) and [NO2BzDMAP]2[Cu(mnt)2] (2) ([BzDMAP]+ = 1-benzyl-4′-dimethylaminopyridinium, [NO2BzDMAP]+ = 1-(4′-nitrobenzyl)-4′-dimethylaminopyridinium, and mnt2− = maleonitriledithiolate) have been characterized structurally and magnetically. The [BzDMAP]+ or [NO2BzDMAP]+ cations (C) and the [Cu(mnt)2]2− anions (A) in 1 and 2 stack into a 1D alternating CC-A-CC-A-CC column. The Cu···N, π···π, C–H···N, C–H···O, and C–H···S weak interactions play important roles in the molecular stacking and generate a 2D or 3D structure of 1 and 2. The magnetic susceptibilities of these salts measured in the temperature range 2.0–300 K show weak antiferromagnetic coupling features with θ = −2.370 K for 1 and −0.222 K for 2.  相似文献

The atmospheric deposition fluxes of 7Be, 210Pb and 210Po at Xiamen were measured. The samples were collected from March 2004 to April 2005 and the sampling period was one month. The 7Be and 210Pb activity were measured using HPGe γ-spectrometer after concentration using Fe(OH)3 co-precipitation method. The 210Po was counted with an α-spectrometer after the sample was digested and spontaneous plated onto a silver planchet. At Xiamen, the atmospheric deposition fluxes of 7Be varied between 0.11 and 2.93 Bq·m−2·d−1 and the average was 1.64 Bq·m−2·d−1; 210Pb fluxes varied between 0.04 and 0.85 Bq·m−2·d−1, and the average was 0.51 Bq·m−2·d−1; 210Po fluxes varied between 0.002 and 0.133 Bq·m−2·d−1, and the average was 0.061 Bq·m−2·d−1. There were positive correlations between the deposition fluxes of 7Be, 210Pb or 210Po and the amount of precipitation. The residence time of aerosols varied between 6.0 and 54.0 days with a mean of 27.1 days, which were calculated by 210Po/210Pb fluxes ratios.  相似文献

Vanadium in serum has been investigated by the aid of neutron activation analysis (8 min irradiation at 8·1013 n·cm−2·s−1 in the reactor FR-II of the Kernforschungszentrum in Karlsruhe). The lyophilized samples were dry-ashed before irradiation and the52V activity extracted after irradiation. The values for V in the sera of 22 healthy males ranged from 0.029–0.939 ng V·ml−1. There is a real assumption that some of the high figures are due to persons being contaminated with V. The 18 healthy females yielded a mean value of 0.033±0.012 ng V·ml−1 for 17 of them and one additional value of 0.139 ng V·ml−1. These V-data are the lowest ever reported in the literature. The analyses of two packed blood cell samples yielded 0.031 and 0.020 ng·g−1, indicating that about 68% of the total V in blood is present in serum. There was no correlation between the V-content and age, nor between the V-content and the cholesterol, triglycerides or the lipoprotein fractions in serum.  相似文献

A method was developed for determining selenium with a self-made ion-selective electrode was developed. This electrode was made by using Ag2Se as electroactive material. Optimal working conditions and interferences were investigated. The electrode exhibits good potentiometric response for Se2− ions over the concentration range from 6 × 10−7 mol · L−1 to 1 × 10−4 mol · L−1 with a Nernstian slope of 28 ± 1 mV per decade and a detection limit of about 4.5 × 10−7 mol · L−1. It was used over six months and exhibits good selectivity and sensitivity towards Se2−. The method was applied to determine selenium in biological materials. The recovery ranges between 92% and 105.5%, and the relative standard derivation is less than 3.6% (n = 6).  相似文献

New bis-benzimidazole based diamide ligands N, N′-bis(2-methyl benzimidazolyl)-benzene-1,3-dicarboxamide [GBBA] and N-Octyl-N, N′-bis(2-methyl benzimidazolyl)-benzene- 1,3-dicarboxamide [O-GBBA] have been synthesized and utilized to prepare Cu(II) complexes of general composition [Cu(GBBA)X 2] · nH2O and [Cu(O-GBBA)X2] · n H2O, where X is an exogenous anionic ligand (X = Cl, NO3, SCN). The oxidation of electron deficient olefins has been investigated using [Cu(O-GBBA)X2] · nH2O as catalyst and TBHP as an alternate source of oxygen. The respective ketonic products have been isolated and characterized by 1H-NMR. The complex [Cu(GBBA)(NO3)2] · 4H2O has been characterized structurally. It crystallizes in a monoclinic space group C2/c. Low temperature EPR spectra have been obtained for the complexes that shows gII > gI > 2.0024, indicating a tetragonal geometry in the solution state. The complexes display a quasi reversible redox wave due to the Cu(II)/Cu(I) reduction process. The E1/2 values shift anodically as NO3 < SCN < Cl.  相似文献

Two new salts, [BzTPP]2[Cu(mnt)2] (1) and [4NO2BzTPP]2[Cu(mnt)2] (2) (BzTPP+ = benzyltriphenylphosphonium and mnt2− = maleonitriledithiolate) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, UV, IR, molar conductivity and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The single-crystal structure analysis shows that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n, while 2 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P−1. The effects of weak intramolecular interactions such as C–H···O, C–H···S, C–H···N, C–H···Cu hydrogen bonds and p···π, π···π stacking interactions in the solids generate a 3D network structure. It is noted that the change in the molecular topology of the counteraction when the 4-substituted group in the benzyl ring is changed from H to NO2 results in differences in the crystal system, space group, weak interactions and the stacking mode of the cations and anions of 1 and 2. The magnetic susceptibilities of these salts measured in the temperature range 2.0 to 300 K show weak ferromagnetic coupling features with θ = 2.05 × 10−2 K for 1 and 5.13 × 10−3 K for 2.  相似文献

An activation analysis method has been developed for the determination of chromium and zinc in biological material. After the samples had been activated in a thermal flux of 7·1011 n·cm−2·sec−1 for 100 hours, both elements were separated from interfering radionuclides by means of ion-exchange and distillation processes. Gamma spectrometry was used to measure the activities of51Cr and65Zn. The practical limits of detection were found to be 1·10−8 g for chromium and 1·10−7 g for zinc. The results of model experiments and of the analysis of blood taken from two individuals proved to be accurate and reproducible.   相似文献
