Novel axially chiral N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) Pd(II) complexes were prepared from optically active 1,1′‐binaphthalenyl‐2,2′‐diamine (BINAM) and H8‐BINAM and their crystal structures were unambiguously determined by X‐ray diffraction. These chiral N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) Pd(II) complexes were applied in the oxidative kinetic resolution of secondary alcohols using molecular oxygen as a terminal oxidant or under aerobic conditions, affording the corresponding sec‐alcohols in good yields with moderate to good enantioselectivities. Two new cobalt complexes were successfully synthesized from the reaction of binaphthyl Schiff base 2 with Co(OAc)2 in the presence of sodium methoxide at 80 °C for 24 h and Co(acac)3 in toluene under reflux. Their unique crystal structures are unambiguously disclosed by X‐ray analysis. Complex 3 is triclinic, space group P1 , unit cell dimensions a = 10.742(2) Å, b = 11.153(2) Å, c = 12.715 Å, α = 79.865(3) °, β = 76.053 °, γ = 72.532(4) °, volume 1401.3(5) Å3, Z = 2. Complex 4 is triclinic, space group P1 , unit cell dimensions a = 10.801(2) Å, b = 12.554(3) Å, c = 15.219(3) Å, α = 105.672(4) °, β = 103.048 °, γ = 104.594(4) °, volume 1824.8(7) Å3, Z = 2, calculated density 1.428 Mg m−3. A series of new benzimidazolium salts as N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors has been synthesized. Reactions of these salts with Ag2O with varying metal‐to‐salt ratio facilitate the formation of a series of new binuclear and mononuclear Ag(I)–NHC complexes. All compounds were characterized using physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study reveals a binuclear structure for one of the complexes and a mononuclear one for two others. These complexes exist as cationic Ag(I)–NHC complexes with the chelation of carbene carbons to the silver centre in an almost linear manner. The compounds were screened for their anti‐bacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 12600) as a Gram‐positive bacterium and Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922) as a Gram‐negative bacterium. The results show that both bacteria appear markedly inhibited. Furthermore, the results suggest the possibility of steric variation as a modulation of the anti‐bacterial activities. The nuclease activities of the compounds were assessed using gel electrophoresis and the results indicate that these complexes can cleave or degrade DNA and RNA via a non‐oxidative mechanism. Salts of meta‐xylyl‐linked N‐ethyl/n‐butyl/benzyl‐substituted bis‐benzimidazolium having hexafluorophosphate counterions have been synthesized. The corresponding binuclear Ag(I)‐N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes were prepared by the reaction of Ag2O. The N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligand precursor 7 and Ag(I)–NHC complexes 10 and 11 have been structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction technique. All of the reported compounds have been tested for their anticancer activity using human colorectal (HCT 116) cancer cell lines. Sterically varied benzimidazolium salts displayed significant activity against HCT 116 cell line, yielding IC50 values in the range 0.1–19.4 µ m , while Ag(I)–carbene complexes showed exceptionally good activity (0.2–1.3 µ m ) against tested cancer cell lines. New chiral binaphthyl‐containing polyfluorene (PF) derivatives, PFOH , PFMOM , and PFP , bearing different binaphthyl units ((S)‐2,2′‐bis(methoxymethoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl for PFMOM , (S)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl‐2,2′‐diol for PFOH , and (S)‐2,2′‐bis(diphenylphosphinyl)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl for PFP ) in the backbone have been designed and synthesized through Pd‐catalyzed Suzuki polycondensation. Their properties have been investigated in detail by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, TGA, DSC, UV–vis, photoluminescence (in solutions, in thin films before and after annealing), and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopic methods compared with poly(9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐diyl) ( PF ). The resulting copolymers possessed excellent solubility in organic solvents and emitted strong blue light. The phosphine oxide‐containing copolymers PFP and PFMOM exhibited higher quantum yields and better thermal spectral stability in comparison with PF . All the copolymers exhibited obviously the linearly polarized photoluminescent properties both in solutions and in solid states. High emission polarization ratios (RPL) of PFP were observed with no obvious decrease upon thermal annealing. In addition, investigation of the CD spectroscopic properties of these copolymers in THF solutions indicated that the chirality of the binaphthyls could be transferred to the whole PF backbone. All these results demonstrated that introduction of the chiral binaphthyls, particularly BINAPO, into the backbone could effectively improve the performances of the copolymers. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of optically active poly(ester imide)s (PEsI's) has been synthesized by the polycondensation reactions of new axially asymmetric dianhydrides, that is, (R)‐2,2′‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxybenzoyloxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl dianhydride and (S)‐2,2′‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxybenzoyloxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl dianhydride, and various diamines with aromatic, semiaromatic, and aliphatic structures. The polymers have inherent viscosities of 0.45–0.70 dL/g, very good solubility in common organic solvents, glass‐transition temperatures of 124–290 °C, and good thermal stability. Wide‐angle X‐ray crystallography of these polymers shows no crystal diffraction. In comparison with model compounds, an enhanced optical rotatory power has been observed for the repeat unit of optically active PEsI's based on aromatic diamines, and it has been attributed to a collaborative asymmetric perturbation of chiral 1,1′‐binaphthyls along the rigid backbones. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel luminescent copper(I) complex with formula [Cu(PPh3)2(PIP)]BF4 (PPh3 = triphenyl phosphine, PIP = 2‐phenyl‐1H‐imidazo[4,5‐f][1,10]phenanthroline) has been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, IR, elemental analysis and X‐ray crystal structure analysis. In solid state, it displays broad band emission upon excitation at λ = 420 nm with the emission maximum locates at 551 nm. Its excited‐state lifetime is in the microsecond time scale (3.02 µs); as a result, its emission intensity is sensitive to oxygen concentration and shows oxygen‐sensing properties after being encapsulated into mesoporous silica MCM‐41. For the system with 60 mg/g loading level, a sensitivity (I0/I) of 4.35, a fluorescence quenching time (tQ) of 5 s and a recovery time (tR) of 36 s were achieved. Even after aging for 5 months, the sensitivities of the three loading level systems can be retained, ignoring the measurement error, which indicates that they possess long‐term stability. (PhCH2NH2)2CuCl2 ( 2 ), an effective oxidation reagent for oxidative coupling of 2‐naphthylamine ( 1 ) to form 2,2′‐diamino‐1,1′‐binaphthyl ( 4 ), is studied. Oxidative coupling of 2‐naphthylamine ( 1 ) is carried out at room temperature in methanol by (PhCH2NH2)2CuCl2 ( 2 ), which is prepared from CuCl2·2H2O and benzylamine in methanol, to give a novel copper complex, [{1,1′‐(C10H6)2‐2,2′‐(NH2)2}2CuCl]Cl·CH3OH·3H2O ( 3 ), in good yield. Treatment of 3 with aqueous HCl (37%), followed by addition of NH3·H2O (25%), gives 2,2′‐diamino‐1,1′‐binaphthyl ( 4 ) in a moderate yield (total yield from 1 : > 70%). A novel NHC–Pd complex of 1,3‐bis (4‐ethoxycarbonylphenyl) imidazolium chloride has been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR and X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction studies. TG analysis shows that the NHC‐Pd complex is stable under 208 °C. The catalytic activities have been explored for the synthesis of axially chiral N‐(2′‐methoxy‐1,1′‐binaphthalen‐2‐yl) benzophenone hydrazone. The result indicates that the novel NHC‐Pd complex can achieve better catalytic activity than the Pd‐phosphine catalysts in the synthesis of axially chiral N‐(2′‐methoxy‐1,1′‐binaphthalen‐2‐yl) benzophenone hydrazone.  相似文献

A new synthetic route to 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA (where BTDA is benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride), an isomer of 2,3′,3′,4′‐BTDA and 3,3′,4,4′‐BTDA, is described. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis of 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA has shown that this dianhydride has a bent and noncoplanar structure. The polymerizations of 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA with 4,4′‐oxydianiline (ODA) and 4,4′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)benzene (TPEQ) have been investigated with a conventional two‐step process. A trend of cyclic oligomers forming in the reaction of 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA and ODA has been found and characterized with IR, NMR, matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry, and elemental analyses. Films based on 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA/TPEQ can only be obtained from corresponding polyimide (PI) solutions prepared by chemical imidization because those from their polyamic acids by thermal imidization are brittle. PIs from 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA have lower inherent viscosities and worse thermal and mechanical properties than the corresponding 2,3′,3′,4′‐BTDA‐ and 3,3′,4,4′‐BTDA‐based PIs. PIs from 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA and 2,3′,3′,4′‐BTDA are amorphous, whereas those from 3,3′,4,4′‐BTDA have some crystallinity, according to wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. Furthermore, PIs from 2,2′,3,3′‐BTDA have better solubility, higher glass‐transition temperatures, and higher melt viscosity than those from 2,3′,3′,4′‐BTDA and 3,3′,4,4′‐BTDA. Model compounds have been prepared to explain the order of the glass‐transition temperatures found in the isomeric PI series. A stable dimeric mono‐coordinated NHC–Pd(II) complex with bridging iodine atoms was synthesized and characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. It has been successfully applied to the Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction under aerobic conditions. Good to excellent yields were obtained in most cases with the addition of H2O. In this work, four bimetallic Ru(II)–Ir(III) complexes with the general formula [(bpy)2Ru(bpm)Ir(C^N)2](PF6)3 (bpy = 2,2‐bipyridine, bpm = 2,2′‐bipyrimidine, C^N = 2‐phenylpyridinato ( 2 ), (2‐p‐tolyl)pyridinato ( 3 ), 2‐(2,4‐difluorophenyl)pyridinato ( 4 ), and 2‐thienylpyridinato ( 5 )) were synthesized. Complexes 2 – 5 were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, high‐resolution mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The structures of the complexes 2 and 4 were further confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. All the complexes display strong absorption in the high‐energy UV region assigned to intraligand (IL) transitions, and the lower energy bands are ascribed to metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions. The reduction and oxidation behavior of the complexes 2 – 5 were examined by cyclic voltammetry. Variation of the ligands on Ir(III) center resulted in significant changes in electrochemical properties.  相似文献

Novel 4,4′‐dichloro‐2,2′‐[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L) and its complexes [CuL] and {[CoL(THF)]2(OAc)2Co} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H‐NMR and X‐ray crystallography. [CuL] forms a mononuclear structure which may be stabilized by the intermolecular contacts between copper atom (Cu) and oxygen atom (O3) to form a head‐to‐tail dimer. In {[CoL(THF)]2(OAc)2Co}, two acetates coordinate to three cobalt ions through Co? O? C? O? Co bridges and four µ‐phenoxo oxygen atoms from two [CoL(THF)] units also coordinate to cobalt ions. A new series of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligand precursors ( 1 and 2 ) with their [Ag(I)(NHC)2]PF6 complexes ( 3 and 4 ) and [ClAu(I)(NHC)] complexes ( 5 and 6 ) are reported. Complexes 5 and 6 were synthesized via transmetalation reaction using either 3 or 4 and AuCl(SMe2) as reactants, respectively. All the synthesized compounds were fully characterized using elemental analyses and Fourier transform infrared, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. In the crystal structures of 3 , 5 and 6 , the Ag(I) and Au(I) ions are in a linear geometry. The entire structure of 3 is stabilized by significant π–π interactions, while the structures of 5 and 6 are stabilized with the presence of aurophilic interactions between the adjacent Au(I) ions as well as CH–π or π–π interactions. From photoluminescence studies, complexes 5 and 6 show dual‐emission characteristics. The higher‐energy fluorescence originates from 1XLCT mixed with 1MLCT, while the lower‐energy phosphorescence is ascribed to 3XLCT and 3MLCT with small contribution of 3ILCT, as evidenced by density functional theory (DFT) and time‐dependent DFT calculations of the modelled molecules.  相似文献

A novel sulfonated diamine monomer, 2,2′‐bis(p‐aminophenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl‐6,6′‐disulfonic acid (BNDADS), was synthesized. A series of sulfonated polyimide copolymers containing 30–80 mol % BNDADS as a hydrophilic component were prepared. The copolymers showed excellent solubility and good film‐forming capability. Atomic force microscopy phase images clearly showed hydrophilic/hydrophobic microphase separation. The relationship between the proton conductivity and degree of sulfonation was examined. The sulfonated polyimide copolymer with 60 mol % BNDADS showed higher proton conductivity (0.0945–0.161 S/cm) at 20–80 °C in liquid water. The membranes exhibited methanol permeability from 9 × 10?8 to 5 × 10?7 cm2/s at 20 °C, which was much lower than that of Nafion (2 × 10?6cm2/s). The copolymers were thermally stable up to 300 °C. The sulfonated polyimide copolymers with 30–60 mol % BNDADS showed reasonable mechanical strength; for example, the maximum tensile strength at break of the sulfonated polyimide copolymer with 40 mol % BNDADS was 80.6 MPa under high moisture conditions. The optimum concentration of BNDADS was found to be 60 mol % from the viewpoint of proton conductivity, methanol permeability, and membrane stability. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The aurophilicity exhibited by AuI complexes depends strongly on the nature of the supporting ligands present and the length of the Au–element (Au—E) bond may be used as a measure of the donor–acceptor properties of the coordinated ligands. A binuclear iron–gold complex, [1,3‐bis(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazol‐2‐ylidene‐2κC2]dicarbonyl‐1κ2C‐(1η5‐cyclopentadienyl)gold(I)iron(II)(AuFe) benzene trisolvate, [AuFe(C5H5)(C27H36N2)(CO)2]·3C6H6, was prepared by reaction of K[CpFe(CO)2] (Cp is cyclopentadienyl) with (NHC)AuCl [NHC = 1,3‐bis(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazol‐2‐ylidene]. In addition to the binuclear complex, the asymmetric unit contains three benzene solvent molecules. This is the first example of a two‐coordinated Au atom bonded to an Fe and a C atom of an N‐heterocyclic carbene.  相似文献

Optically active 2,2′-bis(2-trifluoro-4-aminophenoxy)-1,1′-binaphthyl and its corresponding racemate were prepared by a nucleophilic substitution reaction of 1,1′-bi-2-naphthol with 2-chloro-5-nitrotrifluorotoluene and subsequently by the reduction of the resulting dinitro compounds. A series of optically active and optically inactive aromatic polyimides also were prepared therefrom. These polymers readily were soluble in common organic solvents such as pyridine, N,N′-dimethylacetamide, and m-cresol and had glass-transition temperatures of 256 ∼ 278 °C. The specific rotations of the chiral polymers ranged from 167 ∼ 258°, and their chiroptical properties also were studied. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 以1,2-反式-二(4-吡啶基)乙烯桥连卤化铜分别得到配合物[Cu2(bpe)Cl 2] n (1), [Cu2(bpe)Br2] n (2) 和 [Cu2(bpe)I2] n (3)。通过X-射线单晶衍射法对配合物1的结构进行了研究,晶体学数据:单斜晶系, P 2(1)/c空间群, a = 0.3788(8) nm, b = 1.5059(3) nm, c = 1.0875(2)nm, β = 96.262(4) °, V = 616.5(2)Å3, Z = 2, S = 1.002,最终残差因子( I >2 σ ( I )) R 1 = 0.0288, wR 2 = 0.0579,对于全部数据 R 1 = 0.0509, wR 2 = 0.0615。元素分析及红外光谱分析表明,该类配合物为同晶化合物。另外,通过热重分析对配合物的热稳定性进行了研究。  相似文献

The reaction of CoSO4 with 2,4‐oxydibenzoic acid (H2oba) and 4,4′‐bipyridine (bipy) under hydrothermal condition yielded a new one‐dimensional cobalt(II) coordination polymer, {[Co(C14H9O5)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]·2H2O}n, which was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, magnetic properties and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The CoII ions are connected by bipy ligands into infinite one‐dimensional chains. The Hoba ligands extend out from the two sides of the one‐dimensional chain. O—H...O hydrogen bonding extends these chains into a two‐dimensional supramolecular architecture.  相似文献
