A heterotritopic copillar[5]arene monomer by introducing effective neutral guest moieties (methylene chains end‐capped with cyano and triazole groups) to a pillar[5]arene macrocycle is prepared. This well‐designed AB2‐type copillar[5]arene contains strong host–guest recognition motifs that are connected with relatively flexible and long linkers, thus efficiently assembles to form supramolecular hyperbranched polymer (SHP) in chloroform solution, which is characterized by various techniques including 1H NMR, DOSY, viscosity, DLS, and TEM. Particularly, this supramolecular polymer can be effectively depolymerized by adding a competitive butanedinitrile guest.

The synthesis, structure and anion binding properties of the first calix[4]arene‐based [2]rotaxane anion host systems are described. Rotaxanes 9? Cl and 12? Cl, consisting of a calix[4]arene functionalised macrocycle wheel and different pyridinium axle components, are prepared via adaption of an anion templated synthetic strategy to investigate the effect of preorganisation of the interlocked host’s binding cavity on anion binding. Rotaxane 12? Cl contains a conformationally flexible pyridinium axle, whereas rotaxane 9? Cl incorporates a more preorganised pyridinium axle component. The X‐ray crystal structure of 9? Cl and solution phase 1H NMR spectroscopy demonstrate the successful interlocking of the calix[4]arene macrocycle and pyridinium axle components in the rotaxane structures. Following removal of the chloride anion template, anion binding studies on the resulting rotaxanes 9? PF6 and 12? PF6 reveal the importance of preorganisation of the host binding cavity on anion binding. The more preorganised rotaxane 9? PF6 is the superior anion host system. The interlocked host cavity is selective for chloride in 1:1 CDCl3/CD3OD and remains selective for chloride and bromide in 10 % aqueous media over the more basic oxoanions. Rotaxane 12? PF6 with a relatively conformationally flexible binding cavity is a less effective and discriminating anion host system although the rotaxane still binds halide anions in preference to oxoanions. 相似文献

Noncovalent interactions between purified HiPCO single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNT) and a [60]fullerene-pyrene dyad, synthesized through a regioselective double-cyclopropanation process, produce stable suspensions in which the tubes are very well dispersed, as evidenced by microscopy characterization. Cyclic voltammetry experiments and photophysical characterization of the suspensions in organic solvents are all indicative of sizeable interactions of the pyrene moiety with the SWNT and, therefore, of the prevalence in solution of [60]fullerene-pyreneSWNT hybrids. 相似文献

In toluene fullerene C(70) forms 2:1 complexes with p-benzylcalix[5]arene (1) and p-phenylcalix[5]arene (2), [C(70) subset1(2)].6(C(7)H(8)) and [C(70) subset2(2)].7(C(7)H(8)). The fullerene molecules are completely shrouded by two calix[5]arenes in addition to terminal benzyl groups from other supermolecules, [C(70) subset1(2)], and solvent. Within the capsule-like supermolecules the calixarenes have distinctly different arrangements relative to the principal axis of the fullerene; for [C(70) subset1(2)].6(C(7)H(8)) the oxygen planes of the two calixarenes are skewed by 37.0 and 47.5 degrees , whereas in [C(70) subset2(2)].7(C(7)H(8)) the principal axes of the fullerene and the two encapsulating calixarenes are more closely aligned with the corresponding angles at 9.7 and 8.6 degrees , and features a pentaphenyl inter-calixarene embrace. The Hirshfeld surfaces of these two complexes have been investigated for a detailed understanding of the orientation and nature of interactions of C(70) with the cavitand-type molecules and toluene. 相似文献

New oval‐shaped capsular and bilayer‐type hydrogen‐bonded arrangements of C‐propyl‐ol‐pyrogallol[4]arene (PgC3‐OH) with bipyridine‐type spacer complexes are reported here. These complexes are engineered by virtue of derivatization of C‐alkyl tails of pyrogallol[4]arene and the use of divergent spacer ligands. Complexes of PgC3‐OH, PgC3‐OH with bpy (4,4′‐bipyridine) and PgC3‐OH with bpa (1,2‐bis(4‐pyridyl)acetylene) have bilayer type arrangements; however, the use of hydrogen chloride causes protonation of bpy molecule, which is then entrapped flat within an offset oval‐shaped dimeric hydrogen‐bonded PgC3‐OH nanocapsule. The presence of chloride anion in the crystal lattice controls the geometry of the resultant nanoassembly. 相似文献

We describe a electrochemically driven molecular shuttle, in which shuttling takes place by means of fullerene radical‐anion recognition that results in a very low operation potential (E1/2=?0.580 V vs. decamethylferrocene). This has been achieved by introducing positive charges on the macrocycle, which strengthen the existing π–π interactions between the macrocycle and the electrogenerated fullerene radical anion by means of an electrostatic component. In addition, the synthesis of such a molecular shuttle has been accomplished by developing a new synthetic approach that exploits the controlled translocation of the macrocycle as a selective protecting group. 相似文献

Employing bis(p‐sulfonatocalix[4]arenes) (bisSC4A) and N′,N′′hexamethylenebis(1‐methyl‐4,4′‐bipyridinium) (HBV4+) as monomer building blocks, the assembly morphologies can be modulated by cucurbit[n]uril (CB[n]) (n=7, 8), achieving the interesting topological conversion from cyclic oligomers to linear polymers. The binary supramolecular assembly fabricated by HBV4+ and bisSC4A units, forms an oligomeric structure, which was characterized by NMR spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) experiments. The ternary supramolecular polymer participated by CB[8] is constructed on the basis of host–guest interactions by bisSC4A and the [2]pseudorotaxane HBV4+@CB[8], which is characterized by means of AFM, DLS, NMR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV/Vis spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. CB[n] plays vital roles in rigidifying the conformation of HBV4+, and reinforcing the host–guest inclusion of bisSC4A with HBV4+, which prompts the formation of a linear polymer. Moreover, the CB[8]‐participated ternary assembly could disassemble into the molecular loop HBV2+@CB[8] and free bisSC4A after reduction of HBV4+ to HBV2+, whereas the CB[7]‐based assembly remained unchanged after the reduction. CB[8] not only controlled the topological conversion of the supramolecular assemblies, but also improved the redox‐responsive assembly/disassembly property practically. 相似文献

Biphen[n]arenes (n=3, 4) are a new family of macrocyclic hosts. Here, we describe the molecular recognition behavior of hydroxylated biphen[4]arene (OHBP4) for the first time. A series of cationic guests with different sizes and shapes, including quaternary ammonium salts ( 1? PF6 and 2? PF6), pyridinium‐based guests ( 3? 2 PF6– 6? 2 PF6), and cobaltocenium hexafluorophosphate ( 7? PF6), were chosen as model guest molecules. OHBP4 exhibits good selectivity towards the 2,7‐dibutyldiazapyrenium bis(hexafluorophosphate) ( 4? 2 PF6) axle to form a [2]pseudorotaxane‐type complex. In contrast, hydroxylated biphen[3]arene (OHBP3) cannot bind with this big guest. In addition, OHBP4 strongly interacts with adamantane derivative 2? PF6 and cobaltocenium 7? PF6, which have tridimensional shape and relatively large size. The association constant of the 7 +?OHBP4 complex in 1:1 (v/v) [D6]acetone/CD2Cl2 solution is up to 3100±300 m ?1. 相似文献
