A hyperbranched poly(arylene oxindole), a poly(methacrylate), and a dendrimer, to which the same nonlinear optical chromophore was attached via a small, rigid spacer, were prepared. The difference in hyper‐Rayleigh scattering intensities was measured and compared. From this study, it was concluded that the chromophores, and hence the functional groups in the macromolecule before functionalization, are orientationally correlated in the dendrimer, whereas they are not in the linear and hyperbranched polymer. More in particular, the chromophores in the dendrimer are fixed in a centrosymmetric way because of the globular structure, whereas there is no orientational correlation between the chromophores in linear and hyperbranched polymer. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Four novel mononuclear ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(dmb)2L]2+ [dmb = 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine, L = imidazo‐[4,5‐f][1,10]phenanthroline (IP), 2‐phenylimidazo‐[4,5‐f][1,10]phenanthroline (PIP), 2‐(4′‐hydroxyphenyl)imidazo‐[4,5‐f] [1,10] phenanthroline (HOP), 2‐(4′‐dimethylaminophenyl) imidazo‐[4, 5‐f] [1,10] phenanthroline (DMNP)] were synthesized and characterized by ES‐MS, 1H NMR, UV‐vis and electrochemistry. The nonlinear optical properties of the ruthenium(II) complexes were investigated by Z‐scan techniques with 12 ns laser pulse at 540 nm, and all of them exhibit both nonlinear optical (NLO) absorption and self‐defocusing effect. The corresponding effective NLO susceptibility |x3| of the complexes is in the range of 2.68 × 10?12‐4.57 × 10?12 esu. 相似文献

In this paper we report on the potential dependent electrocrystallization of [Ag(4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine)2(NO3)2] ( 1 ) and Ag(4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine)(NO3)2 ( 2 ) from the same electrolytic bath. Thus it has been shown for the first time that the coordination number of silver ion to ligands can be tuned by the electrocrystallization potential. The single crystal structure analysis [ 1 : C2/c, a = 18.6308(15), b = 14.5708(12), c = 11.5867(10) Å, β = 126.5910(10)°, Z = 4, R = 3.9 %] [ 2 : P21/c, a = 8.5865(11) b = 11.0157(14) c = 16.4554(10) Å, β = 111.102(10), Z = 4 , R = 3.5 %] show divalent silver to be in an approximately square planar surrounding. Both complexes are paramagnetic following Curie's law with magnetic moments of 1.86 μB and 1.72 μB respectively. 相似文献

The nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of a double photochrome molecular switch are reported for the first time by considering the four trans forms of a dithienylethene–indolinooxazolidine hybrid. The four forms are characterized by means of hyper‐Rayleigh scattering (HRS) experiments and quantum chemical calculations. Experimental measurements provide evidence that the pH‐ and light‐triggered transformations between the different forms of the hybrid are accompanied by large variations of the first hyperpolarizability, which makes this compound an effective multistate NLO switch. Quantum chemical calculations conducted at the time‐dependent Hartree–Fock and time‐dependent DFT levels agree with the experimental data and allow a complete rationalization of the NLO responses of the different forms. The HRS signal of the forms with an open indolinooxazolidine moiety are more than one order of magnitude larger than that measured for the other forms, whereas the open/closed status of the dithienylethene subunit barely influences the dynamic NLO properties. However, extrapolation of the NLO responses to the static limit leads to univocally distinguishable intrinsic responses for three of the various forms. This hybrid system thus acts as a highly efficient multistate NLO switch for eventual exploitation in optical memory systems with multiple storage and nondestructive readout capacity. 相似文献

The synthesis of generational dendritic oligothiophenes (DOTs) has been successfully achieved by a divergent/convergent approach that involves halogenation, boronation, and palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki coupling reactions. The key point in the presented synthetic approach is the use of trimethylsilyl (TMS) protecting groups, which allow for the core‐lithiation and subsequent boronation of the dendrons and for the peripheral ipso‐substitution with iodine monochloride or N‐bromosuccimide. In addition, the TMS protecting groups can be completely removed by using tetrabutylammonium fluoride, thus yielding only‐thiophene‐based dendrons and dendrimers. Due to their highly branched structure, all these synthesized DOTs are soluble in organic solvents. Chemical structures were confirmed by NMR spectroscopic, mass spectrometric, and elemental analysis. Concentration‐dependent 1H NMR spectroscopic investigations revealed that the higher generation compounds tend to aggregate in solution. Such an aggregation behavior was further confirmed by measuring with MALDI‐TOF MS. Both MALDI‐TOF MS and gel‐permeation chromatography (GPC) analyses confirmed the monodispersity of the DOTs. Furthermore, GPC results revealed that these DOT molecules adopt a condensed globular molecular shape. Their optical and electronic properties were also investigated. The results indicated that these DOTs comprise various conjugated α‐oligothiophenes with different chain lengths, which results in the higher generation compounds showing broad and featureless UV/Vis absorption spectra and ill‐defined redox waves. 相似文献

New mixed ligand complexes of transition metals were synthesized from a Schiff base (L1) obtained by the condensation reaction of oxamide and furfural as primary ligand and 2,2′‐bipyridine (L2) as secondary ligand. The ligands and their metal complexes were studied using various spectroscopic methods. Also thermal analyses were conducted. The mixed ligand complexes were found to have formulae [M(L1)(L2)]Clm ⋅n H2O (M = Cr(III) and Fe(III): m = 3, n = 0; M = Cu(II) and Cd(II): m = 2, n = 1; M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II): m = 2, n = 0). The resultant data revealed that the metal complexes have octahedral structure. Also, the mixed ligand complexes are electrolytic. The biological and anticancer activities of the new compounds were tested against breast cancer (MCF‐7) and colon cancer (HCT‐116) cell lines. The results showed high activity for the synthesized compounds. 相似文献

Donor1+donor2→acceptor : The second‐order NLO molecular properties of a class of dipolar chromophores that incorporate the following design elements are investigated: 1) a substituted hydrazono moiety as a strong donor; 2) a pyrrole ring as an auxiliary donor; 3) strong acceptor groups (see figure). Their first hyperpolarisabilities show good promise for use in electro‐optical devices.

Two transition metal‐organic coordination polymers, [Mn2(1,3‐bdc)2(Me2bpy)2] · Me2bpy ( 1 ) and [Co(4,4′‐oba)(Me2bpy)] ( 2 ) were hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TG, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction [1,3‐H2bdc = benzene‐1,3‐dicarboxylic acid, H2oba = 4,4′‐oxybis(benzoic acid) Me2bpy = 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine]. Compound 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P212121, with a = 23.371(5), b = 14.419(3), and c = 14.251(3) Å. Compound 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c, with a = 7.4863(15), b = 18.272(4), c = 16.953(5) Å, and β = 107.44(3)°. The crystal structure of complex 1 is a wave‐like layer with central Mn2+ atoms bridged by 1,3‐bdc ligands, whereas the structure of compound 2 presents a ladder chain of hexacoordinate Co2+ atoms, in which the metal atoms are bridged by 4,4′‐oba ligands and decorated by Me2bpy ligands. The two compounds are further extended into 3D supramolecular structures through π–π stacking interactions. Additionally, the compounds show intense fluorescence in solid state at room temperature. 相似文献

A platinum complex with the 6‐(7‐benzothiazol‐2′‐yl‐9,9‐diethyl‐9H‐fluoren‐2‐yl)‐2,2′‐bipyridinyl ligand ( 1 ) was synthesized and the crystal structure was determined. UV/Vis absorption, emission, and transient difference absorption of 1 were systematically investigated. DFT calculations were carried out on 1 to characterize the electronic ground state and aid in the understanding of the nature of low‐lying excited electronic states. Complex 1 exhibits intense structured 1π–π* absorption at λabs<440 nm, and a broad, moderate 1M LCT/1LLCT transition at 440–520 nm in CH2Cl2 solution. A structured 3π–π*/3M LCT emission at about 590 nm was observed at room temperature and at 77 K. Complex 1 exhibits both singlet and triplet excited‐state absorption from 450 nm to 750 nm, which are tentatively attributed to the 1π–π* and 3π–π* excited states of the 6‐(7‐benzothiazol‐2′‐yl‐9,9‐diethyl‐9H‐fluoren‐2‐yl)‐2,2′‐bipyridine ligand, respectively. Z‐scan experiments were conducted by using ns and ps pulses at 532 nm, and ps pulses at a variety of visible and near‐IR wavelengths. The experimental data were fitted by a five‐level model by using the excited‐state parameters obtained from the photophysical study to deduce the effective singlet and triplet excited‐state absorption cross sections in the visible spectral region and the effective two‐photon absorption cross sections in the near‐IR region. Our results demonstrate that 1 possesses large ratios of excited‐state absorption cross sections relative to that of the ground‐state in the visible spectral region; this results in a remarkable degree of reverse saturable absorption from 1 in CH2Cl2 solution illuminated by ns laser pulses at 532 nm. The two‐photon absorption cross sections in the near‐IR region for 1 are among the largest values reported for platinum complexes. Therefore, 1 is an excellent, broadband, nonlinear absorbing material that exhibits strong reverse saturable absorption in the visible spectral region and large two‐photon‐assisted excited‐state absorption in the near‐IR region. 相似文献

A new chiral ligand N‐p‐toluenesulfonyl‐2,2′‐dimethoxy‐6,6′‐diaminobiphenyl (Ts‐DMBDPPA) was prepared from 2,2′‐dimethoxy‐6,6′‐diaminobiphenyl via N‐tosylation. New light emitting dendrimers were synthesized by reacting 3,5‐bis‐(3,5‐bis‐benzyloxy‐benzyloxy)‐benzoic acid or 3,5‐bis‐[3,5‐bis‐(3,5‐bis‐benzyloxy‐benzyloxy)‐benzyloxy]‐benzoic acid with a carbazolyl vinyl spirobifluorene moiety. A blue‐emitting core dye was encapsulated by multibenzyloxy dendrons, and two dendrimers having different densities of dendrons were prepared. Photoluminescence (PL) studies of the dendrimers demonstrated that at the higher density of benzyloxy dendrons, the featureless vibronic transitions were improved, causing lesser excimer emission. The similarity of the solution and solid emission spectra of the larger dendrimer, 10 , revealed the suppression of molecular aggregation in the solid film, which is attributed to the presence of the bulky benzyloxy dendrons. The electroluminescence spectra of multilayered devices made using 10 predominantly exhibited blue emissions; similar emission was observed in the PL spectra of its thin film. The multilayered devices made using 3 , 9 , and 10 showed luminances of 1021 cd m?2 at 5 V, 916 cd m?2 at 6 V, and 851 cd m?2 at 6.5 V, respectively. The largest dendrimer, 10 , bearing a greater number of benzyloxy dendrons, exhibited a blue‐like emission with CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates of x = 0.16 and y = 0.13, which is due to the influence of a higher shielding effect. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Enantiospecific intramolecular Suzuki–Miyaura‐type coupling with α‐(2‐halobenzoylamino)benzylboronic esters to give 3‐substituted isoindolinones is achieved by using copper catalysts with 2,2′‐bipyridine‐based achiral ligands. Enantioenriched α‐aminobenzylboron reactants bearing a hydrogen atom at the boron‐bound stereogenic carbons undergo stereoinvertive coupling in the presence of a 6‐phenyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine ligand with high enantiospecificity. α‐Aminobenzylboronates bearing fully substituted boron‐bound stereogenic centers also gave the 3,3‐disubstituted isoindolinones with stereospecific stereochemical inversion in the presence of simple 2,2′‐bipyridine as a ligand. 相似文献

Herein, high‐generation dendrimers G4‐NS and G5‐NS , which contained 30 and 62 azo‐benzene chromophore moieties, respectively, were conveniently prepared in high purity and satisfied yields by a combination of divergent and convergent approaches, coupled with the utilization of the powerful Sharpless click reaction. These dendrimers possessed a regular structure of alternating layers of nitro‐based and sulfonyl‐based azo chromophores in which the sulfonyl‐based azo‐chromophore moieties were utilized as co‐isolation groups for the nitro‐based moieties to achieve larger macroscopic second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) effects. These high‐generation dendrimers ( G4‐NS and G5‐NS ) displayed very large NLO efficiencies (up to 253.0 pm V?1), which is, to the best of our knowledge, the record highest efficiency for simple azo‐chromophore moieties. 相似文献

The polyfluorinated title compounds, [M Cl2(C16H16F4N2O2)] or [4,4′‐(HCF2CH2OCH2)2‐2,2′‐bpy]M Cl2 [M = Pd, ( 1 ), and M = Pt, ( 2 )], have –C(Hα)2OC(Hβ)2CF2H side chains with H‐atom donors at the α and β sites. The structures of ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) are isomorphous, with the nearly planar (bpy)M Cl2 molecules stacked in columns. Within one column, π‐dimer pairs alternate between a π‐dimer pair reinforced with C—H…Cl hydrogen bonds (α,α) and a π‐dimer pair reinforced with C—Hβ…F(—C) interactions (abbreviated as C—Hβ…F—C,C—Hβ…F—C). The compounds [4,4′‐(CF3CH2OCH2)2‐2,2′‐bpy]M Cl2 [M = Pd, ( 3 ), and M = Pt, ( 4 )] have been reported to be isomorphous [Lu et al. (2012). J. Fluorine Chem. 137 , 54–56], yet with disorder in the fluorous regions. The molecules of ( 3 ) [or ( 4 )] also form similar stacks, but with alternating π‐dimer pairs between the (α,β; α,β) and (β,β) forms. Through (C—)H…Cl hydrogen‐bond interactions, one molecule of ( 1 ) [or ( 2 )] is expanded into an aggregate of two inversion‐related π‐dimer pairs, one pair in the (α,α) form and the other pair in the (C—Hβ…F—C,C—Hβ…F—C) form, with the plane normals making an interplanar angle of 58.24 (3)°. Due to the demands of maintaining a high coordination number around the metal‐bound Cl atoms in molecule ( 1 ) [or ( 2 )], the ponytails of molecule ( 1 ) [or ( 2 )] bend outward; in contrast, the ponytails of molecule ( 3 ) [or ( 4 )] bend inward. 相似文献

Syntheses and Structures of Bis(4,4′‐t‐butyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine) Ruthenium(II) Complexes with functional Derivatives of Tetramethyl‐bibenzimidazole [(tbbpy)2RuCl2] reacts with dinitro‐tetramethylbibenzimidazole ( A ) in DMF to form the complex [(tbbpy)2Ru( A )](PF6)2 ( 1a ) (tbbpy: bis(4,4′‐t‐butyl)‐2,2′bipyridine). Exchange of the two PF6? anions by a mixture of tetrafluor‐terephthalat/tetrafluor‐terephthalic acid results in the formation of 1b in which an extended hydrogen‐bonded network is formed. According to the 1H NMR spectra and X‐ray analyses of both 1a and 1b , the two nitro groups of the bibenzimidazole ligand are situated at the periphery of the complex in cis position to each other. Reduction of the nitro groups in 1a with SnCl2/HCl results in the corresponding diamino complex 2 which is a useful starting product for further functionalization reactions. Substitution of the two amino groups in 2 by bromide or iodide via Sandmeyer reaction results in the crystalline complexes [(tbbpy)2Ru( C )](PF6)2 and [(tbbpy)2Ru( D )](PF6)2 ( C : dibromo‐tetrabibenzimidazole, D : diiodo‐tetrabibenzimidazole). Furthermore, 2 readily reacts with 4‐t‐butyl‐salicylaldehyde or pyridine‐2‐carbaldehyde under formation of the corresponding Schiff base RuII complexes 5 and 6 . 1H NMR spectra show that the substituents (NH2, Br, I, azomethines) in 2 ‐ 6 are also situated in peripheral positions, cis to each other. The solid state structure of both 2 , and 3 , determined by X‐ray analyses confirm this structure. In addition, the X‐ray diffraction analyses of single crystals of the complexes [(tri‐t‐butyl‐terpy)(Cl)Ru( A )] ( 7 ) and [( A )PtCl2] ( 8 ) display also that the nitro groups in these complexes are in a cis‐arrangement. 相似文献

A series of 2,2‐dimethyl‐5‐(5′‐R‐hetarylidene)‐1,3‐dioxane‐4,6‐diones has been synthesized for examing a structure–activity relationship. Furyl and thienyl derivatives of Meldrum's acid possess neurotropic activity comprising both depriming and activating components. Comparison of acute toxicity of carbon, silicon and germanium analogues in the furan series of the compounds has demonstrated that the germanium derivative is 11.5 times less toxic than the carbon analogue and four times less toxic than the silicon derivative. 2,2‐Dimethyl‐5‐(5′‐triethylsilyl‐2′‐thenylidene)‐1,3‐dioxane‐4,6‐dione has moderate toxicity with the highest neurotropic and cytotoxic activity Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Polyimide copolymers containing 2,2′‐bipyridine were synthesized and characterized. The glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's) of the polymers ranged from 260 to 300 °C. In contrast to most known organic chromophore‐containing polyimides, the polyimide copolymers in this study showed elevated Tg's (270–320 °C) after coordination with nickel malenonitriledithiolate inorganic chromophores. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
