In this work, the poly(methacrylic acid‐coN‐isopropylacrylamide) thermosensitive composite hollow latex particles was synthesized by a three‐step reaction. The first step was to synthesize the poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid) (poly(MMA‐MAA)) copolymer latex particles by the method of soapless emulsion polymerization. The second step was to polymerize methacrylic acid (MAA), N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm), and N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide in the presence of poly(MMA‐MAA) latex particles to form the linear poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid)/crosslinking poly(methacrylic acid‐coN‐isopropylacrylamide) (poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm)) core–shell latex particles. In the third step, the core–shell latex particles were heated in the presence of ammonia solution to form the crosslinking poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) thermosensitive hollow latex particles. The morphologies of poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) core–shell latex particles and poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) hollow latex particles were observed. The influences of crosslinking agent and shell composition on the lower critical solution temperature of poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) core–shell latex particles and poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) hollow latex particles were, respectively, studied. Besides, the poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) thermosensitive hollow latex particles were used as carriers to load with the model drug, caffeine. The effect of various variables on the amount of caffeine loading and the efficiency of caffeine release was investigated. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. In this work, the poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid)/poly(methacrylic acid‐co‐N‐isopropylacrylamide) thermosensitive composite semi‐hollow latex particles was synthesized by three processes. The first process was to synthesize the poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid) (poly (MMA‐MAA)) copolymer latex particles by the method of soapless emulsion polymerization. The second process was to polymerize methacrylic acid (MAA), N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm), and crosslinking agent, N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide, in the presence of poly(MMA‐MAA) latex particles to form the linear poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid)/crosslinking poly(methacrylic acid‐co‐N‐isopropylacrylamide) (poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm)) core–shell latex particles with solid structure. In the third process, part of the linear poly(MMA‐MAA) core of core–shell latex particles was dissolved by ammonia to form the poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) thermosensitive semi‐hollow latex particles. The morphologies of the semi‐hollow latex particles show that there is a hollow zone between the linear poly(MMA‐MAA) core and the crosslinked poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) shell. The crosslinking agent and shell composition significantly influenced the lower critical solution temperature of poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) semi‐hollow latex particles. Besides, the poly(MMA‐MAA)/poly(MAA‐NIPAAm) thermosensitive semi‐hollow latex particles were used as carriers to load with the model drug, caffeine. The processes of caffeine loaded into the semi‐hollow latex particles appeared four situations, which was different from that of solid latex particles. In addition, the phenomenon of caffeine released from the semi‐hollow latex particles was obviously different from that of solid latex particles. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. In this study, the poly(NIPAAm–MAA)/Fe3O4 hollow latex particles were synthesized by three steps. The first step was to synthesize the poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methylacrylate acid) (poly(MMA‐MAA)) copolymer latex particles by the method of soapless emulsion polymerization. Following the first step, the second step was to polymerize N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm), MAA, and crosslinking agent (N,N'‐methylene‐bisacrylamide (MBA)) in the presence of poly(MMA‐MAA) latex particles to form the linear poly(MMA‐MAA)/crosslinking poly (NIPAAm‐MAA) core‐shell latex particles. After the previous processes, the core‐shell latex particles were heated in the presence of NH4OH to dissolve the linear poly(MMA‐MAA) core in order to form the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) hollow latex particles. In the third step, Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions were introduced to bond with the ? COOH groups of MAA segments in the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) hollow polymer latex particles. Further by a reaction with NH4OH and then Fe3O4 nanoparticles were generated in situ and the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)/Fe3O4 magnetic composite hollow latex particles were formed. The concentrations of MAA, crosslinking agent (N,N'‐methylene bisacrylamide), and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were important factors to influence the morphology of hollow latex particles and lower critical solution temperature of poly(NIPAAm–MAA)/Fe3O4 magnetic composite hollow latex particles. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study, the poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐methylacrylate acid)/Fe3O4/poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐methylacrylate acid) (poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)/Fe3O4/poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)) two‐shell magnetic composite hollow latex particles were synthesized by four steps. The poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methylacrylate acid) (poly(MMA‐MAA)) copolymer latex particles were synthesized first. Then, the second step was to polymerize NIPAAm, MAA, and crosslinking agent in the presence of poly(MMA‐MAA) latex particles to form the linear poly(MMA‐MAA)/crosslinking poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) core–shell latex particles. Then, the core–shell latex particles were heated in the presence of NH4OH to dissolve the linear poly(MMA‐MAA) core to form the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) hollow latex particles. In the third step, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles were generated in the presence of poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) hollow polymer latex particles and formed the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)/Fe3O4 magnetic composite hollow latex particles. The fourth step was to synthesize poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) in the presence of poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)/Fe3O4 latex particles to form the poly(NIPAAm‐MAA)/Fe3O4/poly(NIPAAm‐MAA) two‐shell magnetic composite hollow latex particles. The effect of various variables such as reactant concentration, monomer ratio, and pH value on the morphology and volume‐phase transition temperature of two‐shell magnetic composite hollow latex particles was studied. Moreover, the latex particles were used as carriers to load with caffeine, and the caffeine‐loading characteristics and caffeine release rate of latex particles were also studied. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Double‐shelled zirconia/titania (ZrO2/TiO2) hollow microspheres were prepared by the selective removal of the polymer components via the calcination of the corresponding tetra‐layer poly(N,N′‐methylenebisacryl amide‐co‐methacrylic acid) (P(MBA‐co‐MAA))/Zr(OH)4/poly(ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid) (P(EGDMA‐co‐MAA))/TiO2 hybrid microspheres. These tetra‐layer microspheres were synthesized by the combination of the distillation copolymerization of N,N(‐methylenebisacryl amide‐co‐methacrylic acid (MBA) or ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) crosslinker and methacrylic acid (MAA) for the preparation of polymer core and third‐layer as well as the controlled sol‐gel hydrolysis of inorganic precursors for the construction of zirconium hydroxide (Zr(OH)4) and titania (TiO2) layers. The thicknesses of zirconia and titania shell‐layers were conveniently controlled via varying the feed of zirconium n‐butoxide (Zr(OBu)4) and titanium tetrabutoxide (TBOT) during the sol‐gel hydrolysis, while the sizes of polymer layers were tuned through a multi‐stage distillation precipitation copolymerization. The structure and morphology of the resultant microspheres were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X‐ray diffractometer (XRD), X‐ray photoelectronic spectroscopy (XPS), and thermogrametric analysis (TGA).  相似文献

Magnetic poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/poly(methyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid) [P(MMA–MAA)] composite polymer latices were synthesized by two‐stage soapless emulsion polymerization in the presence of magnetite (Fe3O4) ferrofluids. Different types and concentrations of fatty acids were reacted with the Fe3O4 particles, which were prepared by the coprecipitation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) salts to obtain stable Fe3O4 ferrofluids. The Fe3O4/polymer particles were monodisperse, and the composite polymer particle size was approximately 100 nm. The morphology of the magnetic composite polymer latex particles was a core–shell structure. The core was PMMA encapsulating Fe3O4 particles, and the shell was the P(MMA–MAA) copolymer. The carboxylic acid functional groups (COOH) of methacrylic acid (MAA) were mostly distributed on the surface of the composite polymer latex particles. Antibodies (anti‐human immunoglobulin G) were then chemically bound with COOH groups onto the surface of the magnetic core–shell composite latices through the medium of carbodiimide to form the antibody‐coated magnetic latices (magnetic immunolatices). The MAA shell composition of the composite latex could be adjusted to control the number of COOH groups and thus the number of antibody molecules on the magnetic composite latex particles. With a magnetic sorting device, the magnetic immunolatices derived from the magnetic PMMA/P(MMA–MAA) core–shell composite polymer latex performed well in cell‐separation experiments based on the antigen–antibody reaction. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, Fe3O4/polystyrene/poly(N‐isopropylacryl amide‐co‐methylacrylate acid) (Fe3O4/PS/P(NIPAAM‐co‐MAA)) magnetic composite latex was synthesized by the method of two stage emulsion polymerization. In this reaction system, 2,2′‐azobis(2‐methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride (AIBA) was used as initiator to initiate the first stage reaction and second stage reaction. The Fe3O4 particles were prepared by a traditional coprecipitation method. Fe3O4 particles were surface treated by either PAA oligomer or lauric acid to form the stable ferrofluid. The first stage for the synthesis of magnetic composite latex was to synthesize PS in the presence of ferrofluid by soapless emulsion polymerization to form the Fe3O4/PS composite latex particles. Following the first stage of reaction, the second stage of polymerization was carried out by the method of soapless emulsion polymerization with NIPAAM and MAA as monomers and Fe3O4/PS latex as seeds. The magnetic composite particles, Fe3O4/PS/P(NIPAAM‐co‐MAA), were thus obtained. The mechanism of the first stage reaction and second stage reaction were investigated. Moreover, the effects of PAA and lauric acid on the reaction kinetics, morphology, and particle size distribution were studied. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of new polymer colloids based on renewable resources, such as sugar‐derived monomers, is nowadays a matter of interest. These new polymeric particles should be useful in biomedical applications, such as drug delivery, because of their assumed biodegradability. In this work, two new families of polymer latex particles, based on a sugar‐derived monomer, 3‐O‐methacryloyl‐1,2:5,6‐di‐O‐isopropylidene‐α‐D ‐glucofuranose (3‐MDG), were produced and characterized. The syntheses of poly(3‐MDG) crosslinked particles and those obtained by copolymerization with methacrylic acid (MAA), poly(3‐MDG‐co‐MAA) crosslinked particles, were prepared by surfactant‐free emulsion polymerization in a batch reactor. The average particle diameter evolutions, the effect of pH of the dispersion medium on the final average diameters, together with the microscopic and morphological analysis of the particle's surface and inner dominium, were analyzed. Poly(3‐MDG‐co‐EGDMA) stable particles were obtained by adding low amounts of initiator. The surface‐charge density of these particles corresponded to the sulfate groups coming from the initiator. In the second family of latices, poly(3‐MDG‐co‐MAA‐co‐EGDMA) particles, DCP measurements and SEM and TEM observations showed that the sizes and surface characteristics depended on the amounts of MAA and crosslinker used in the reaction mixture. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The hairy poly(methacrylic acid‐co‐divinylbenzene)‐g‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (P(MAA‐co‐DVB)‐g‐PNIPAm) nanocapsules with pH‐responsive P(MAA‐co‐DVB) inner shell and temperature‐responsive PNIPAm brushes were prepared by combined distillation–precipitation copolymerization and surface thiol‐ene click grafting reaction using 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate‐modified silica (SiO2‐MPS) nanospheres as a sacrificial core material. The well‐defined PNIPAm was synthesized by a reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The chain end was converted to a thiol by chemical reduction. The PNIPAm was integrated into the nanocapsules via thiol‐ene click reaction. The surface thiol‐ene click reaction conduced to tunable grafting density of PNIPAm brushes. The grafting densities decreased from 0.70 chains nm?2 to 0.15 chains nm?2 with increasing the molecular weight of grafted PNIPAm chains. Using water soluble doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX·HCl) as a model molecular, the tunable shell permeability of the nanocapsule was investigated in detail. The permeability constant can be tuned by controlling the thickness of the P(MAA‐co‐DVB) inner shell, the grafting density of PNIPAm brushes, and the environmental pH and temperature. The tunable shell permeability of these nanocapsules results in the release of the loaded guest molecules with manipulable releasing kinetics. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Through reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of t‐butyl acrylate (tBA) and RAFT copolymerization of 2‐dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) with poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMEMA), block‐comb copolymer of PtBA‐b‐P(PEGMEMA‐co‐DMAEMA) was prepared. After the self‐assembly of PtBA‐b‐P(PEGMEMA‐co‐DMAEMA) into core‐shell spherical micelles, P(PEGMEMA‐co‐DMAEMA) segments of the shell was crosslinked with 1,2‐bis(2‐iodoethoxy)ethane and the core of PtBA was selectively hydrolysized with trifluoroacetic acid. Thus, zwitterionic shell‐crosslinked micelles with positively charged outer shell and negatively charged inner core were obtained. Dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscope, Zeta potential measurement, and nuclear magnetic resonance were used to confirm the formation of the zwitterionic shell‐crosslinked micelles. They showed the excellent resistance to the variation of pH value and possessed the positive values throughout the whole range of pH range even if the carboxylic groups of the micelles was much more than ammonium groups. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Our objective was to synthesize and evaluate lactic acid‐ and carbonate‐based biodegradable core‐ and core‐corona crosslinkable copolymers for anticancer drug delivery. Methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(carbonate‐co‐lactide‐co‐5‐methyl‐5‐allyloxycarbonyl‐1,3‐dioxane‐2‐one) [mPEG‐b‐P(CB‐co‐LA‐co‐MAC)] and methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(acryloyl carbonate)‐b‐poly(carbonate‐co‐lactide) [mPEG‐b‐PMAC‐b‐P(CB‐co‐LA)] copolymers were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of LA, CB, and MAC using mPEG as an macroinitiator and 1,8‐diazabicycloundec‐7‐ene as a catalyst. These amphiphilic copolymers which exhibited low polydispersity and critical micelle concentration values (0.8–1 mg/L) were used to prepare micelles with or without drug and stabilized by crosslinking via radical polymerization of double bonds introduced in the core and interface to improve stability. mPEG114b‐P(CB8co‐LA35co‐MAC2.5) had a higher drug encapsulation efficiency (78.72% ± 0.15%) compared to mPEG114b‐PMAC2.5b‐P(CB9co‐LA39) (20.29% ± 0.11%).1H NMR and IR spectroscopy confirmed successful crosslinking (~70%) while light scattering and transmission electron microscopy were used to determine micelle size and morphology. Crosslinked micelles demonstrated enhanced stability against extensive dilution with aqueous solvents and in the presence of physiological simulating serum concentration. Furthermore, bicalutamide‐loaded crosslinked micelles were more potent compared to non‐crosslinked micelles in inhibiting LNCaP cell proliferation irrespective of polymer type. Finally, these results suggest crosslinked micelles to be promising drug delivery vehicles for chemotherapy. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

Unimolecular amphiphilic nanoreactors with a poly(4-vinyl-N-methylpyridinium iodide) (P4VPMe+I) polycationic outer shell and two different architectures (core-cross-linked micelles, CCM, and nanogels, NG), with narrow size distributions around 130–150 nm in diameter, were synthesized by RAFT polymerization from an R0-4VPMe+I140-b-S50-SC(S)SPr macroRAFT agent by either chain extension with a long (300 monomer units) hydrophobic polystyrene-based block followed by cross-linking with diethylene glycol dimethacrylate (DEGDMA) for the CCM particles, or by simultaneous chain extension and cross-linking for the NG particles. A core-anchored triphenylphosphine (TPP) ligand functionality was introduced by using 4-diphenylphosphinostyrene (DPPS) as a comonomer (5–20 % mol mol−1) in the chain extension (for CCM) or chain extension/cross-linking (for NG) step. The products were directly obtained as stable colloidal dispersions in water (latexes). After loading with [RhCl(COD)]2 to yield [RhCl(COD)(TPP@CCM)] or [RhCl(COD)(TPP@NG)], respectively, the polymers were used as polymeric nanoreactors in Rh-catalyzed aqueous biphasic hydrogenation of the model substrates styrene and 1-octene, either neat (for styrene) or in an organic solvent (toluene or 1-nonanol). All hydrogenations were rapid (TOF up to 300 h−1) at 25 °C and 20 bar of H2 pressure, the biphasic mixture rapidly decanted at the end of the reaction (<2 min), the Rh loss was negligible (<0.1 ppm in the recovered organic phase), and the catalyst phase could be recycled 10 times without significant loss of catalytic activity.  相似文献

The hollow composite spheres with a raspberry‐like structure were prepared by a self‐assemble heterocoagulation based on the inter‐particle hydrogen‐bonding interaction between the amide groups of hollow poly (N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide‐coN‐isopropyl acrylamide) (P(MBA‐co‐NIPAAm)) microspheres and the carboxylic acid groups of poly(ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid) (P(EGDMA‐co‐MAA)) nanoparticles, in which P(EGDMA‐co‐MAA) nanoparticle acted as the corona and the hollow P(MBA‐co‐NIPAAm) microsphere behaved as the core. The control coverage of the corona particles on the surface of hollow core microspheres of P(MBA‐co‐NIPAAm)/P(EGDMA‐co‐MAA) hollow composite sphere was studied in detail through adjustment of the mass ratio between the core and corona particles. The effect of the pH on the stability of the raspberry‐like hollow spheres was investigated. The polymer particles and the resultant heterocoagulated raspberry‐like hollow spheres were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Preparation and study of a series of copolymers incorporating 2‐vinyl‐4,4‐dimethylazlactone (VDMA) is reported. The reactivity ratios for photo‐initiated free radical copolymerization of VDMA with methacrylic acid (MAA), acrylic acid (AA), acrylamide (AAm), dimethylacrylamide (DMAA), hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (MPEG300MA), and 2‐methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC), were determined by fitting comonomer conversion data obtained by in situ 1H NMR to a terminal copolymerization equation. Semi‐batch photo‐copolymerizations were then used to synthesize the corresponding VDMA copolymers with constant composition. Their solubility and dissolution behavior, as well as their hydrolysis half‐lives under physiological conditions, were determined. P(VDMA‐co‐MAA) copolymers with 52 to 93 mol % VDMA showed decreasing initial solubility and increasing hydrolysis half‐lives with increasing VDMA content. VDMA copolymers with nonionic monomers AAm and DMAA were water soluble only at VDMA contents of 41 and 22 mol % or less, respectively, and showed longer hydrolysis half‐lives than comparable MAA copolymers. VDMA copolymers with HEMA and MPEG300MA were found to crosslink during storage, so their hydrolysis half‐lives were not determined. VDMA copolymers with 18% zwitterionic MPC showed a much longer half‐life and superior initial solubility compared to analogous p(VDMA‐co‐MAA), identifying this copolymer as a promising candidate for macromolecular crosslinkers in, for example, aqueous layer‐by‐layer co‐depositions with polyamines. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The catalyst system Nd(acac)3·2 H2O/Bu2Mg/CHCl3 shows a fairly high activity in both the homo‐ and copolymerization of isoprene (IP) and styrene (St) in toluene at 60°C. Copolymers obtained from various comonomer feed ratios were characterized by means of NMR spectroscopy and gel‐permeation chromatography. The polyisoprene and poly(IP‐co‐St) obtained predominantly consist of cis‐1,4 IP units. Monomer reactivity ratios were evaluated to be rIP = 5.4 and rSt = 0.38 in the copolymerization.  相似文献

In this work, an iron oxide (Fe3O4)/polystyrene (PS)/poly(N‐isopropylacryl amide‐co‐methacrylic acid) [P(NIPAAM–MAA)] thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was synthesized by the method of two‐stage emulsion polymerization. The Fe3O4 particles were prepared by a traditional coprecipitation method and then surface‐treated with either a PAA oligomer or lauric acid to form a stable ferrofluid. The first stage for the synthesis of the thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was to synthesize PS in the presence of a ferrofluid by emulsion polymerization to form Fe3O4/PS composite latex particles. Following the first stage of reaction, the second stage of polymerization was carried out with N‐isopropylacryl amide and methacrylic acid as monomers and with Fe3O4/PS latex as seeds. The Fe3O4/PS/[P(NIPAAM–MAA)] thermosensitive magnetic particles were thus obtained. The effects of the ferrofluids on the reaction kinetics, morphology, and particle size of the latex were discussed. A reaction mechanism was proposed in accordance with the morphology observation of the latex particles. The thermosensitive property of the thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was also studied. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 45: 3062–3072, 2007  相似文献

A novel amphiphilic thermosensitive poly(ethylene glycol)45b‐poly(methyl methacrylate46co‐3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate)2b‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)429 (PEG45b‐P(MMA46co‐MPMA2)‐b‐PNIPAAm429) triblock copolymer was synthesized via consecutive atom transfer radical polymerization techniques. The thermoinduced association behavior of the resulting triblock copolymers in aqueous medium was further investigated in detail by 1H NMR, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering. The results showed that at the temperature (25 °C) below the LCST, PEG45b‐P(MMA46co‐MPMA2)‐b‐PNIPAAm429 triblock copolymers self‐assembled into the core crosslinked micelles with the hydrophobic P(MMA‐co‐MPMA) block constructing a dense core, protected by the mixed soluble PEG and PNIPAAm chains acting as a hydrophilic shell simultaneously. With an increase in temperature, the resulting core‐shell micelles converted into a new type of micelles with the hydrophilic PEG chains stretching out from the hydrophobic core through the collapsed PNIPAAm shell. On the other hand, at the temperature (40 °C) above the LCST, such triblock copolymers formed the crosslinked vesicles with the hydrophobic PNIPAAm and P(MMA‐co‐MPMA) blocks constructing a membrane core and the soluble PEG chains building the hydrophilic lumen and the shell. On further decreasing the temperature, the resulting vesicles underwent transformation from the shrunken to the expanded status, leading to the formation of swollen vesicles with enlarged size. This study is believed to present the first formation of two types of hybrid crosslinked self‐assemblies by thermoinduced regulation. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The catalytic performances of Co‐Rh/Fe3O4 catalysts modified with phosphine ligands (PPh3) and its analogues on dicyclopentadiene hydroformylation were evaluated. Among these catalysts, Co‐Rh/Fe3O4 modified with tris(p‐trifluoromethylphenyl)phosphine was determined to be effective for monoformyltricyclodecanes production, whereas Co‐Rh/Fe3O4 modified with PPh3 or tri‐p‐tolylphosphine was effective for the diformyltricyclodecanes production. To investigate the ligand effects, the complex catalyst system (Co‐Rh/Fe3O4 and phosphine ligand) was subjected to pretreatment with syngas and then characterized by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG‐DTA). It was determined that the threshold decomposition temperature reflected the corresponding Rh‐phosphine interaction strength, affecting the catalytic selectivity toward different products. A weak Rh‐phosphine interaction was desirable to produce monoformyltricyclodecanes with fast reaction kinetics, whereas a strong Rh‐phosphine complex was required for the synthesis of diformyltricyclodecanes. In addition to the selectivity rule shown in the PPh3 series, experiments with other ligands also demonstrated similar selectivity trends.  相似文献

3‐Ethynylthiophene (3ETh) was polymerized with Rh(I) complexes: [Rh(cod)acac], [Rh(nbd)acac], [Rh(cod)Cl]2, and [Rh(nbd)Cl]2 (cod is η22‐cycloocta‐1,5‐diene and nbd η22‐norborna‐2,5‐diene), used as homogeneous catalysts and with the last two complexes anchored on mesoporous polybenzimidazole (PBI) beads: [Rh(cod)Cl]2/PBI and [Rh(nbd)Cl]2/PBI used as heterogeneous catalysts. All tested catalyst systems give high‐cis poly(3ETh). In situ NMR study of homogeneous polymerizations induced with [Rh(cod)acac] and [Rh(nbd)acac] complexes has revealed: (i) a transformation of acac ligands into free acetylacetone (Hacac) occurring since the early stage of polymerization, which suggests that this reaction is part of the initiation, (ii) that the initiation is rather slow in both of these polymerization systems, and (iii) a release of cod ligand from [Rh(cod)acac] complex but no release of nbd ligand from [Rh(nbd)acac] complex during the polymerization. The stability of diene ligand binding to Rh‐atom in [Rh(diene)acac] catalysts remarkably affects only the molecular weight but not the yield of poly(3ETh). The heterogeneous catalyst systems also provide high‐cis poly(3ETh), which is of very low contamination with catalyst residues since a leaching of anchored Rh complexes is negligible. The course of heterogeneous polymerizations is somewhat affected by limitations arising from the diffusion of monomer inside catalyst beads. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The emulsion polymerization of styrene using the reactive surfactant sodium dodecyl allyl sulfosuccinate (TREM LF‐40) was studied. The polymerization kinetics were found to be unusual in that Rp was not directly proportional to Np (RpNp0.67). Several reasons are stated to explain the unusual kinetics, including chain transfer to TREM LF‐40, copolymerization of styrene with TREM LF‐40, and the influence of the homopolymer of TREM LF‐40 [poly(TREM)] and/or the copolymer [poly(TREM‐co‐styrene)] on the entry and exit rates of free radicals. The possibility of both chain transfer and copolymerization exists primarily at the oil/water interface, whereas both can also occur in the aqueous and monomer phases. Bulk polymerizations of styrene in the presence of TREM LF‐40 and poly(TREM) were conducted, and the results show that the reaction rate decreased for the styrene/TREM LF‐40 system. Latex characterization by serum replacement and titration measurements provided evidence for the chemical bonding of TREM LF‐40 to the polymer particles. The fraction of chemically bound reactive surfactant decreased with increasing surfactant concentration and increased with increasing initiator concentration. Relatively high contact angles of water on films cast from the latexes showed that TREM LF‐40 did not migrate significantly to the surface of the film, which was consistent with the latex‐surface characterization results. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
