关于一个奇异Dirichlet问题的注记

The Dirichlet problem to a second order differential equation with some singularities is studied. Some existence results are established to the problem which generalize some results recently obtained by D. O‘Regan by eliminating some superfluous constrains to the problem. Also, some new results have been proven which may provide more useful information for the study of the problem.     

Structure of positive solution sets of semi-positone singular boundary value problems

In this paper we first obtain some results on the structure of positive solution sets of some differential boundary value problems. Then by using these results we obtain some existence and multiplicity results for positive solutions of differential boundary value problems. The method used to show the main results is that of global bifurcation theories.     

Geometric properties of some Lommel and Struve functions

In this paper our aim is to deduce some new results on the zeros of the derivatives of some Lommel and Struve functions of the first kind and to apply these results in order to determine the radii of convexity of some normalized Lommel and Struve functions of the first kind.     

On the solutions of a second order nonlinear system with almost periodic forcing

A second order almost periodic perturbed nonlinear system with small parameter is discussed in this paper. Based on some analytical techniques and the method of averaging, some sufficient conditions are obtained for existence of one almost periodic solution. Also some suitable conditions are given for existence of two almost periodic solutions. The obtained new results generalized the known results in Seifert [1], [3] and He [2], [4]. Finally, some applications are presented to illustrate that our results are a good generalization of the known results.     

STUDY OF THE STABILITY BEHAVIOUR AND THE BOUNDEDNESS OF SOLUTIONS TO A CERTAIN THIRD-ORDER DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION WITH A RETARDED ARGUMENT

Lyapunov direct method is employed to investigate the asymptotic behaviour and the boundedness of solutions to a certain third-order differential equation with delay and some new results are obtained. Our results improve and complement some earlier results. Two examples are given to illustrate the importance of the topic and the main results obtained.     

Stability and Stabilization of Second-order Systems

A new method of constructing Liapunov functions is applied tosystems described by non-linear, second-order, ordinary differentialequations. General results are presented for which such systemsare asymptotically stable and some consideration is given tothe construction of feedback control loops which guarantee thecontrolled system is asymptotically stable. The general theoryis applied to some simple systems and the results compared withknown results.     

THE NORMALITY OF ALGEBROID MULTIFUNCTIONS AND THEIR COEFFICIENT FUNCTIONS

In this paper, we investigate the normality relationship between algebroid multifunctions and their coefficient functions. We prove that the normality of a k-valued entire algebroid multifunctions family is equivalent to their coefficient functions in some conditions.Furthermore, we obtain some new normality criteria for algebroid multifunctions families based on these results. We also provide some examples to expound that some restricted conditions of our main results are necessary.     

Congruence numerical ranges and their radii

The earliest congruence numerical range was introduced by Thompson in 1980. Since then, congruence numerical ranges and their radii have been studied by some authors. The purpose of this article is to discuss several aspects of this subject. We survey some known results and propose some problems for furthur study. A few new results are also presented.     

On CLARKSON's Inequalities and Interpolation

We consider some elementary proofs of local versions of CLARKSON 's inequalities and point out the fact that these inequalities can be generalized to hold for a much wider class of parameters. In particular it is easy to generalize our interpolation proof in various ways to higher dimensions. We point out explicitely some examples of such generalizations and we also prove some corresponding global versions. In this elementary way we obtain both new proofs of some previous results of this kind and also some new complements, unifications and further generalizations of these results.     

Some improved criteria for global robust exponential stability of neural networks with time-varying delays

In this paper, some sufficient conditions for global robust exponential stability of interval neural networks with time-varying delays are presented. It is shown that our results include some counterparts of the previous literatures. On basis of the obtained results, some linear matrix inequality (LMI) criteria are derived. Moreover, three numerical examples and a simulation are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.     

Congruence numerical ranges and their radii

Stability for several type of interval matrices

The robust stability for some types of tlme-varying interval raatrices and nonlineartime-varying interval matrices is considered and some sufficient conditions for robust stability of such interval matrices are given, The main results of this paper are only related to the verticesset of a interval matrices, and therefore, can be easily applied to test robust stability of interval matrices. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the results.     

THE CONTINUITY OF OPERATORS IN MATHEMATICAL MORPHOLOGY

In pattern analysis and image management, the information of an objective image can be recovered from a sequence approximate images. In mathematical form of expression it is needed to consider some types of continuity. Many researchers defined the limit and the upper limit of a sequence and, using the concepts, characterized continuity in the space consisted of images. In the present paper, the authors give firstly some examples to show that there are some theoretical shortcomings in those results, then give some corresponding correct results.     

Fixed points of multivalued quasi-nonexpansive mappings using a faster iterative process

In this article, we prove some strong and weak convergence theorems for quasi-nonexpansive multivalued mappings in Banach spaces. The iterative process used is independent of Ishikawa iterative process and converges faster. Some examples are provided to validate our results. Our results extend and unify some results in the contemporary literature.     

Minimizing cyclic cutwidth of graphs using a memetic algorithm

Cyclic cutwidth minimization problem (CCMP) consists of embedding a graph onto a circle such that the maximum cutwidth in a region is minimized. It is an NP-complete problem and for some classes of graphs, exact results of cyclic cutwidth have been proved in literature. However, no algorithm has been reported for general graphs. In this paper, a memetic algorithm is proposed for CCMP in which we have designed six construction heuristics in order to generate a good initial population and also local search is employed to improve the solutions in each generational phase. The algorithm achieves optimal results for the classes of graphs with known exact results. Extensive experiments have also been conducted on some classes of graphs for which exact results are not known such as the complete split graph, join of hypercubes, toroidal meshes, cone graph and some instances of Harwell-Boeing graphs which are a subset of public domain Matrix Market library. Trends observed in the experimental results for some of the classes of graphs have led to conjectures for cyclic cutwidth.     

Large Deviations for Random Sums on Some Kind of Heavy-tailed Classes in Risk Models

This paper is a further investigation into the large deviations for random sums of heavy-tailed,we extended and improved some results in ref. [1] and [2]. These results can applied to some questions in Insurance and Finance.

Certain Sub classes of Analytic Functions Involving the Generalized Dziok-Srivastava Op erator

The generalized Dziok-Srivastava operator is used here to introduce a class of analytic functions in the open unit disc. We provide convolution properties, some subordi-nation relations and the problem of radius. The results presented here extend some of the earlier results.     

On partitioning of hypergraphs

We study edge-isoperimetric problems (EIP) for hypergraphs and extend some technique in this area from graphs to hypergraphs. In particular, we establish some new results on a relationship between the EIP and some extremal poset problems, and apply them to obtain an exact solution of the EIP for certain hypergraph families. We also show how to solve the EIP on hypergraphs in some cases when the link to posets does not work. Another outcome of our results is a new series of hypergraphs admitting nested solutions in the EIP.     

Multicriteria Semi-Obnoxious Network Location Problems (MSNLP) with Sum and Center Objectives

Locating a facility is often modeled as either the maxisum or the minisum problem, reflecting whether the facility is undesirable (obnoxious) or desirable. But many facilities are both desirable and undesirable at the same time, e.g., an airport. This can be modeled as a multicriteria network location problem, where some of the sum-objectives are maximized (push effect) and some of the sum-objectives are minimized (pull effect).We present a polynomial time algorithm for this model along with some basic theoretical results, and generalize the results also to incorporate maximin and minimax objectives. In fact, the method works for any piecewise linear objective functions. Finally, we present some computational results.
