Based on the basic theory of molecular vibration relaxation and semi-classical density matrix theory, operating parameters optimization of buffer gas in the process of miniature pulsed optically pumped submillimeter wave laser was systemically studied and the theoretical calculated result was tested by experiments. The result would do favor to develop and study high-power and wide-range tunable miniature and high-efficient pulsed optically pumped submillimeter wave laser and also had some instruction to its application.  相似文献

An unified miniature optically pumped NH3 submillimeter wave laser (OPSMMWL), including a mini TEA-CO2 pump laser, was developed. It lased successfully with coherent emission at 67.2m, 90.4m and 151.5m. The optimum operation of the unified mini-OPSMMWL was studied experimentally and the relations among SMMW laser output power, operating gas pressure, length and coupling condition of the cavity were measured. It has been found that buffer gas N2 has significant effect on 67.2m and 151.5m emissions and very wide band SMMW laser emission was a common feature of the mini-OPSMMW cavity laser.  相似文献

Higher harmonic operation of gyrotrons is necessary to obtain high frequencies. Some gyrotrons included in the Gyrotron FU series developed at Fukui University have achieved operation at the third and even fourth harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency. The output lies in the millimeter to submillimeter wavelength range and the output powers are several watts to several tens of watts. In this paper, the gyrotrons and the conditions under which they operate are described in detail.  相似文献

Gyrotron FU II has been successfully applied as a submillimeter wave radiation source to plasma scattering measurements on the Compact Helical System (CHS) in National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) in Japan. The gyrotron operates in a long pulse mode (the pulse width is about 600 ms) at a frequency of about 350 GHz (the corresponding wavelength is 0.85 mm). The output power is about 110 W. The output power is transmitted along a circular waveguide system and converted to a Gaussian-like beam by a quasi-optical antenna. After that, the beam is directed onto the CHS plasma and the scattered signal is detected by a homodyne detection system. The frequency and the wave number of the scattered signal are analyzed. The results suggest that a broad band low frequency (several tens to several hundreds kHz) density fluctuation is excited in the CHS plasma only during neutral beam injection (NBI) or ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) heating.  相似文献

Energy exchange process in two-longitudinal-mode optically pumped submillimeter wave laser was studied in detail. Laser output intensity was calculated and discussed in case of different operating parameters such as operating gas pressure, length of laser cavity. By means of the iteration method, the output power density of the miniature optically pumped NH3 submillimeter wave (SMMW) laser was calculated based on the density matrix equations of a quantum system. Optimization of operating parameters including operating gas pressure, reflection coefficients of input and output meshes of the laser were studied systematically. In the paper, the concepts of the average activated length and the synthetical optimum value were defined, and some rules of the optimization were explained successfully. Experimentally, a cavity NH3 SMMW laser that was composed of a pair of inductive metallic meshes and pumped by TEA-CO2 10R(8) line was used. The experimental results were in good agreement with our theoretical calculations.  相似文献

双色激光脉冲激励气体等离子体产生太赫兹波是得到高强度宽频带太赫兹波的重要方法,本文利用光电流模型研究了该方法中激光能量对产生太赫兹波的影响。理论计算表明,太赫兹波随激光能量的增大而增强,而太赫兹波的频谱结构不受激光能量的影响。分析了双色激光能量影响太赫兹波强度的原因,并利用自由电子浓度和电子电流密度诠释了该影响的内在物理机制。该研究为提高太赫兹辐射强度提供了一种有效的途径。  相似文献

By means of solving the density matrix equations, base on the mechanism model of buffer gas, the output intensity of FIR and the FIR signal gain coefficient Gs and IR pumping signal absorption coefficient Gp were calculated, energy exchanged process of superradiant OPFIRL with buffer gas was analyzed. It was found that after adding buffer gas into the laser medium, the FIR output could be increased, and the active region of a FIR laser was lengthened.  相似文献

The variation of the laser linewidth within an optically pumped NH3 FIR laser has been studied theoretically on the basis of three-level quantum system approach. It has been shown that the activated medium within the sample tube of an optically pumped ASE FIR laser can be divided into three regions: A). Laser induced line narrowing region, in which the FIR laser linewidth is less than Lorentz linewidth; B). Saturation broadening region, in which the power density of the FIR. signal becomes large enough to make saturation effect important and the linewidth broadens; C), Self-absorption narrowing region, in which the pumping energy density is below the threshold, so self-absorption dominates and the linewidth decreases. The necessary linewidth of the OPFIRL can be obtained by appropriate selection of the length of the sample tube.  相似文献

采用脉冲激光沉积(PLD)技术,在20、200、400和600 oC下制备出了高质量的ZnS薄膜.XRD分析结果表明,PLD法制备的ZnS多晶薄膜为立方闪锌矿结构而并非Murali报道的六方的纤锌矿结构,并沿(111)方向择优取向生长.Raman光谱进一步证明了在350 cm-1出现了立方相ZnS薄膜的A1振动模式.通过ZnS薄膜的SEM平面和断面图可观察到采用PLD技术生长出了非常密实、光滑、均匀的薄膜.PLD生长的ZnS薄膜的颗粒远小于化学浴沉积的CdS颗粒,这也是影响其电池效率的主要原因.XRF化学组成分析结果表明ZnS薄膜符合化学计量比,但略微富S.最后通过光吸收谱测得不同温度下的ZnS薄膜的光学带隙在3.2~3.7 eV,并随薄膜沉积温度的升高,光学带隙反而增加.采用宽带隙的ZnS缓冲层材料,与CdS(2.4 eV)相比,可以增加电池蓝波段的响应.  相似文献

The gain and the tuning characteristics of miniature optically pumped super-radiant NH3 submillimeter-wave gas laser have been studied theoretically based on the quantum density matrix equations. The density matrix equations of three-level quantum system have been solved, and the gain and the output density versus different frequency detuning of submillimeter laser and infrared pumping laser have been calculated respectively by means of iteration method. The characteristic curves corresponding to ideal monochromatic IR pumping model and broadened IR pumping model have been obtained. Meanwhile, the tuning and the nonlinear properties of the system have been revealed.  相似文献

The first cw operation of our submillimeter wave gyrotron (Gyrotron FU IV) using a 12 T superconducting magnet has been successfully carried out. Output power is more than 20 W at a frequency of 301 GHz in the TE031 resonant cavity mode. Time-resolved frequency measurement s shows that the frequency fluctuation of the gyrotron output is smaller than 2 MHz. This frequency fluctuation is mainly due to the fluctuation in the output voltage of the power supply.  相似文献

针对研制的新型机载激光测深系统的海上飞行试验数据,进行预处理、信息提取、数据同步和坐标转换后,开展波浪改正研究.对海底高程的GPS高程信息无波浪改正、GPS高程信息改正飞机航高变化计算波浪和加速度信息改正飞机航高变化计算波浪三种技术进行了分析.数据处理结果表明,采用加速度信息改正飞机航高变化计算得到的波浪信息的方法,结果较好,可满足研制的机载激光测深系统的要求.  相似文献

Based on the rate equation of laser oscillation, we study the possibility of square wave output of a solid state laser in temporal domain. By means of the smooth cavity dumping, the reduction of output loss compensates the photon decrease in cavity. In experiment, we use two sets of avalanche transistor chains to control the functional voltage applied on the Pockels cell for getting uniform and pulsewidth-variable square wave laser pulse.  相似文献
