This paper proposes a modified Morley element method for a fourth order ellipticsingular perturbation problem. The method also uses Morley element or rectangle Morleyelement, but linear or bilinear approximation of finite element functions is used in the lowerpart of the bilinear form. It is shown that the modified method converges uniformly in theperturbation parameter.  相似文献

In this paper, using a bubble function, we construct a cuboid element to solve the fourth order elliptic singular perturbation problem in three dimensions. We prove that the nonconforming CO-cuboid element converges in the energy norm uniformly with respect to the perturbation parameter.  相似文献

In this paper we give a convergence theorem for non C^0 nonconforming finite element to solve the elliptic fourth order singular perturbation problem. Two such kind of elements, a nine parameter triangular element and a twelve parameter rectangular element both with double set parameters, are presented. In this paper we extend the idea of interpolated coefficients for a semilinear problem to the triangular finite volume element method. We first introduce triangular finite volume element method with interpolated coefficients for a boundary value problem of semilinear elliptic equation. We then derive convergence estimate in Hi-norm, L2-norm and L∞-norm, respectively. Finally an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

We present the Crouzeix-Raviart linear nonconforming finite element approximation of the variational inequality resulting from Signorini problem. We show if the displacement field is of H2 regularity, then the convergence rate can be improved from O(h3/4) to quasi-optimal O(h|log h|1/4) with respect to the energy norm as that of the continuous linear finite element approximation. If stronger but reasonable regularity is available, the convergence rate can be improved to the optimal O(h) as expected by the linear approximation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the nonconforming finite element approximations of fourth order elliptic perturbation problems in two dimensions. We present an a posteriori error estimator under certain conditions, and give an h-version adaptive algorithm based on the error estimation. The local behavior of the estimator is analyzed as well. This estimator works for several nonconforming methods, such as the modified Morley method and the modified Zienkiewicz method, and under some assumptions, it is an optimal one. Numerical examples are reported, with a linear stationary Cahn-HiUiard-type equation as a model problem.  相似文献

This paper proposes a reliable and efficient a posteriori error estimator for the finite element methods for the beam problem. Based on the analysis of [7] and [10], we present the mixed finite element approximation of the variational inequality resulting from the contact problem in elasticity. The convergence rate of the stress and displacement field are both improved from O(h3/4) to quasi-optimal O(h│logh│^1/4). Based on two-grid discretizations, in this paper, some new local and parallel finiteelement algorithms are proposed and analyzed for the stationary incompressible Navier-Stokes problem. These algorithms are motivated by the observation that for a solutionto the Navier-Stokes problem, low frequency components can be approximated well by arelatively coarse grid and high frequency components can be computed on a fine grid bysome local and parallel procedure. One major technical tool for the analysis is some locala priori error estimates that are also obtained in this paper for the finite element solutionson general shape-regular grids.  相似文献

In this paper, a mortar finite element method for parabolic problem is presented. Multi-grid method is used for solving the resulting discrete system.
