Three-dimensional free vibration analysis of functionally graded piezoelectric (FGPM) annular plates resting on Pasternak foundations with different boundary conditions is presented. The material properties are assumed to have an exponent-law variation along the thickness. A semi-analytical approach which makes use of state-space method in thickness direction and one-dimensional differential quadrature method in radial direction is utilized to obtain the influences of the Winkler and shearing layer elastic coefficients of the foundations on the non-dimensional natural frequencies of functionally graded piezoelectric annular plates. The analytical solution in the thickness direction can be acquired using the state-space method and approximate solution in the radial direction can be obtained using the one-dimensional differential quadrature method. Numerical results are given to demonstrate the convergency and accuracy of the present method. The influences of the material property graded index, circumferential wave number and thickness of the annular plate on the dynamic behavior are also investigated. Since three-dimensional free vibration analysis of FGPM annular plates on elastic foundations has not been implemented before, the new results can be used as benchmark solutions for future researches.  相似文献

The three-dimensional free vibration analysis of a multi-directional functionally graded piezoelectric(FGP) annular plate resting on two parameter(Pasternak)elastic foundations is investigated under different boundary conditions. The material properties are assumed to vary continuously along the radial and thickness directions and have exponent-law distribution. A semi-analytical approach named the state space based differential quadrature method(SSDQM) is used to provide an analytical solution along the thickness using the state space method(SSM) and an approximate solution along the radial direction using the one-dimensional differential quadrature method(DQM).The influence of the Winkler and shear stiffness of the foundation, the material property graded variations, and the circumferential wave number on the non-dimensional natural frequency of multi-directional FGP annular plates is studied.  相似文献

As a first endeavor, the buckling analysis of functionally graded (FG) arbitrary straight-sided quadrilateral plates rested on two-parameter elastic foundation under in-plane loads is presented. The formulation is based on the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The material properties are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction. The solution procedure is composed of transforming the governing equations from physical domain to computational domain and then discretization of the spatial derivatives by employing the differential quadrature method (DQM) as an efficient and accurate numerical tool. After studying the convergence of the method, its accuracy is demonstrated by comparing the obtained solutions with the existing results in literature for isotropic skew and FG rectangular plates. Then, the effects of thickness-to-length ratio, elastic foundation parameters, volume fraction index, geometrical shape and the boundary conditions on the critical buckling load parameter of the FG plates are studied.  相似文献

Within the framework of three-dimensional elasticity theory, this paper investigates the thermal response of functionally graded annular plates in which the material can be transversely isotropic and vary along the thickness direction in an arbitrary manner. The generalized Mian and Spencer method is utilized to obtain the analytical solutions of annular plates under a through-thickness steady temperature field. The present analytical solutions are validated through comparisons against those available in open literature. A parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of gradient distribution, different temperature fields, different diameter ratio and boundary conditions on the deformation and stress fields of the plate. The results show that these factors can have obvious effects on the thermo-elastic behavior of functionally gradient materials(FGM)annular plates.  相似文献

Thermoelastic bending behaviour of novel functionally graded polymer nanocomposite rectangular plate reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) whose weight fraction varies continuously and smoothly along the thickness direction is investigated. The generalized Mian and Spencer method is utilized to obtain the analytical solutions of nanocomposite rectangular plate with two opposite edges simply supported and under a uniformly distributed transverse load and a temperature change. Three GPL distribution patterns are considered. Comparison between the present analytical solutions and those available in literature is carried out to verify the accuracy of our analytical solutions. A parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of GPL’s weight fraction, distribution pattern, geometry and size as well as the temperature change and plate boundary conditions on the stress and deformation fields of the nanocomposite plates. Numerical results show that the addition of GPLs at a very low content can have a significant reinforcing effect on the thermo-mechanical response of the plate.  相似文献

This paper presents a three-dimensional elasticity solution for a simply supported, transversely isotropic functionally graded plate subjected to transverse loading, with Young’s moduli and the shear modulus varying exponentially through the thickness and Poisson’s ratios being constant. The approach makes use of the recently developed displacement functions for inhomogeneous transversely isotropic media. Dependence of stress and displacement fields in the plate on the inhomogeneity ratio, geometry and degree of anisotropy is examined and discussed. The developed three-dimensional solution for transversely isotropic functionally graded plate is validated through comparison with the available three-dimensional solutions for isotropic functionally graded plates, as well as the classical and higher-order plate theories.  相似文献

In this article, the bending response of a functionally graded plate resting on elastic foundations and subjected to a transverse mechanical load is investigated. An accurate solution for the functionally graded plate with simply supported edges resting on elastic foundations is presented. The interaction between the plate and the elastic foundations is considered and included in the equilibrium equations. Pasternak’s model is used to describe the two-parameter elastic foundations, and get a special case of Winkler’s model by considering one-parameter of elastic foundation. A relationship between the simple and mixed first-order transverse shear deformation theories is presented. Numerical results for deflections and stresses of functionally graded plates are investigated. Comparisons between the results of the simple and mixed first-order theories are made, and appropriate conclusion is formulated. Additional boundary conditions at the edges of the present plates are investigated.  相似文献

Bending of functionally graded piezoelectric rectangular plates   总被引:25,自引:0,他引:25
By introducing two displacement functions as well as two stress functions, two independent state equations with variable coefficients are derived from the three-dimensional theory equations of piezoelasticity for transverse isotropy. A laminated approximation is used to transform the state equations to those with constant coefficients in each sub-layer. The bending problem of a functionally graded rectangular plate is then analyzed based on the state equations. Numerical results are presented and the effect of material gradient index is discussed. Three-dimensional elastic solutions are obtained for a functionally graded thick circular plate subject to axisymmetric conditions. We consider a isotropic material where the Young modulus depends exponentially on the position along the thickness, while the Poisson ratio is constant. The solution method utilises a Plevako’s representation form which reduces the problem to the construction of a potential function satisfying a linear fourth-order partial differential equation. We write this potential function in terms of Bessel functions and we pointwise assign mixed boundary conditions. The analytic solution is obtained in a general form and explicitly presented by assuming transversal load on the upper face and zero displacements on the mantle; this is done by superposing the solutions of problems with suitably imposed radial displacement. We validate the solution by means of a finite element approach; in this way, we highlight the effects of the material inhomogeneity and the limits of the employed numerical method near the mantle, where the solution shows a large sensitivity to the boundary conditions.  相似文献

The bending responses of porous functionally graded (FG) thick rectangular plates are investigated according to a high-order shear deformation theory. Both the effect of shear strain and normal deformation are included in the present theory and so it does not need any shear correction factor. The equilibrium equations according to the porous FG plates are derived. The solution to the problem is derived by using Navier's technique. Numerical results have been reported and compared with those available in the open literature for non-porous plates. The effects of the exponent graded and porosity factors are investigated.  相似文献

In this article, an analytical solution for buckling of moderately thick functionally graded (FG) sectorial plates is presented. It is assumed that the material properties of the FG plate vary through the thickness of the plate as a power function. The stability equations are derived according to the Mindlin plate theory. By introducing four new functions, the stability equations are decoupled. The decoupled stability equations are solved analytically for both sector and annular sector plates with two simply supported radial edges. Satisfying the edges conditions along the circular edges of the plate, an eigenvalue problem for finding the critical buckling load is obtained. Solving the eigenvalue problem, the numerical results for the critical buckling load and mode shapes are obtained for both sector and annular sector plates. Finally, the effects of boundary conditions, volume fraction, inner to outer radius ratio (annularity) and plate thickness are studied. The results for critical buckling load of functionally graded sectorial plates are reported for the first time and can be used as benchmark.  相似文献

Based on England’s expansion formula for displacements, the elastic field in a transversely isotropic functionally graded annular plate subjected to biharmonic transverse forces on its top surface is investigated using the complex variables method. The material parameters are assumed to vary along the thickness direction in an arbitrary fashion. The problem is converted to determine the expressions of four analytic functions α (ζ), β (ζ), ? (ζ) and ψ (ζ) under certain boundary conditions. A series of simple and practical biharmonic loads are presented. The four analytic functions are constructed carefully in a biconnected annular region corresponding to the presented loads, which guarantee the single-valuedness of the mid-plane displacements of the plate. The unknown constants contained in the analytic functions can be determined from the boundary conditions that are similar to those in the plane elasticity as well as those in the classical plate theory. Numerical examples show that the material gradient index and boundary conditions have a significant influence on the elastic field.  相似文献

In the present paper, a three-dimensional problem of elasticity of normal and tangential loading of surface of the functionally graded coated half-space is considered. In case when Poisson's ratio is constant and the Young's modulus is a power or exponential function of the distance from the surface of the half-space, analytical solution using Fourier transform is obtained. Stress field due to Hertz contact pressure in an elliptical region are studied as a function of the parameter b/a (where a and b are axes of the contact ellipse) and coating thickness.  相似文献

We extend the differential quadrature element method (DQEM) to the buckling analysis of uniformly in-plane loaded functionally graded (FG) plates fully or partially resting on the Pasternak model of elastic support. Material properties of the FG plate are graded in the thickness direction and assumed to obey a power law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents. To set up the global eigenvalue equation, the plate is divided into sub-domains or elements and the generalized differential quadrature procedure is applied to discretize the governing, boundary and compatibility equations. By assembling discrete equations at all nodal points, the weighting coefficient and force matrices are derived. To validate the accuracy of this method, the results are compared with those of the exact solution and the finite element method. At the end, the effects of different variables and local elastic support arrangements on the buckling load factor are investigated.  相似文献

Free vibration analysis of moderately thick rectangular FG plates on elastic foundation with various combinations of simply supported and clamped boundary conditions are studied. Winkler model is considered to describe the reaction of elastic foundation on the plate. Governing equations of motion are obtained based on the Mindlin plate theory. A semi-analytical solution is presented for the governing equations using the extended Kantorovich method together with infinite power series solution. Results are compared and validated with available results in the literature. Effects of elastic foundation, boundary conditions, material, and geometrical parameters on natural frequencies of the FG plates are investigated.  相似文献

The creep buckling and post-buckling of the laminated piezoelectric viscoelastic functionally graded material (FGM) plates are studied in this research. Considering the transverse shear deformation and geometric nonlinearity, the Von Karman geometric relation of the laminated piezoelectric viscoelastic FGM plates with initial deflection is established. And then nonlinear creep governing equations of the laminated piezoelectric viscoelastic FGM plates subjected to an in-plane compressive load are derived on the basis of the elastic piezoelectric theory and Boltzmann superposition principle. Applying the finite difference method and the Newmark scheme, the whole problem is solved by the iterative method. In numerical examples, the effects of geometric nonlinearity, transverse shear deformation, the applied electric load, the volume fraction and the geometric parameters on the creep buckling and post-buckling of laminated piezoelectric viscoelastic FGM plates with initial deflection are investigated.  相似文献

In this article, post-buckling and non-linear bending analysis of functionally graded annular sector plates based on three dimensional theory of elasticity in conjunction with non-linear Green strain tensor is considered. In-plane normal compressive loads have been applied to either radial, circumferential, or all edges of annular sector plates. Material properties are graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of constituents while Poisson׳s ratio is assumed to be constant. The governing equations are developed based on the principle of minimum total potential energy and solved based on graded finite element method. Non-linear equilibrium equations are solved based on iterative Newton–Raphson method. The effects of material gradient exponent, different sector angles, thickness ratio, loading condition and two different boundary conditions on the post-buckling behavior of FGM annular sector plates have been investigated. Results denote that due to the stretching–bending coupling effects of the FGMs, the post-buckling behavior of movable simply supported FGM plates is not of the bifurcation-type buckling. Moreover, FGM annular sector plates subjected to uniaxial compression at radial edges show a non-linear bending behavior with unique and stable equilibrium paths following a flattening feature.  相似文献

Three-dimensional elasticity solutions for static bending of thick functionally graded plates are presented using a hybrid semi-analytical approach-the state-space based differential quadrature method (SSDQM). The plate is generally supported at four edges for which the two-way differential quadrature method is used to solve the in-plane variations of the stress and displacement fields numerically. An approximate laminate model (ALM) is exploited to reduce the inhomogeneous plate into a multi-layered laminate, thus applying the state space method to solve analytically in the thickness direction. Both the convergence properties of SSDQM and ALM are examined. The SSDQM is validated by comparing the numerical results with the exact solutions reported in the literature. As an example, the Mori-Tanaka model is used to predict the effective bulk and shear moduli. Effects of gradient index and aspect ratios on the bending behavior of functionally graded thick plates are investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, the basic formulae for the semi-analytical graded FEM on FGM members are derived. Since FGM parameters vary along three space coordinates, the parameters can be integrated in mechanical equations. Therefore with the parameters of a given FGM plate, problems of FGM plate under various conditions can be solved. The approach uses 1D discretization to obtain 3D solutions, which is proven to be an effective numerical method for the mechanical analyses of FGM structures. Examples of FGM plates with complex shapes and various holes are presented.  相似文献
