By means of Auger- and Photoelectron-Spectroscopy as well as magnetic measurements we show that additives of Mn promote surface segregation of FeTi and the thereby produced Fe particles are protected more effectively from oxidation. This explains the relative ease of activation and the lower sensitivity to impurities of the H2 gas observed earlier by J.J. Reilly and J.R. Johnson1. We also show experimentally that the subsurface underneath the segregated layer is capable to dissociate H2 molecules. 相似文献

A simple modification of the definition of the S-matrix is proposed. It is expected that the divergences related to nonzero self-energies are considerably milder with the modified definition than with the usual one. This conjecture is verified in a few examples using perturbation theory. There is a pressing need to improve the reproducibility of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) measurements, if the technique is to be used routinely for trace analysis. This is particularly true for colloidal SERS, in which data reproducibility is dominated by the final shape and size of metal clusters produced during colloid aggregation. This study presents general guidelines for designing appropriate measurement strategies that can be used to identify and optimise crucial steps in a protocol that leads to better reproducibility of the results. We show that the data reproducibility can be improved by optimising vortexing time during colloid aggregation, which we attribute to the formation of more reproducible metal clusters under conditions of ‘forced convection’. The study also investigated the effects of different storage conditions on the data reproducibility of SERS during a 6‐month study period. Storage conditions did not significantly influence the SERS reproducibility. However, at the end of 6 months, colloids that were stored (in plastic containers) at room temperature showed a difference in their quality, as mirrored by their different opto‐physical properties. The principle that ‘the brand effect is attractive’ underlies the preferential attachment. Here we show that the brand effect is just one dimension of attractiveness. Another dimension is competitiveness. We firstly introduce a general framework that allows us to investigate the competitive aspect of real networks, instead of simply preferring popular nodes. Our model accurately describes the evolution of social and technological networks. The phenomenon that more competitive nodes become richer can help us to understand the evolution of many competitive systems in nature and society. In general,the paper provides an explicit analytical expression of degree distributions of the network. In particular, the model yields a nontrivial time evolution of nodes’ properties and the scale-free behavior with exponents depending on the microscopic parameters characterizing the competition rules. Secondly, through theoretical analyses and numerical simulations, we reveal that our model has not only the universality for the homogeneous weighted network, but also the character for the heterogeneous weighted network. Thirdly, we also develop a model based on the profit-driven mechanism. It can better describe the observed phenomenon in enterprise cooperation networks. We show that the standard preferential attachment,the growing random graph, the initial attractiveness model, the fitness model, and weighted networks can all be seen as degenerate cases of our model. 相似文献
