Recently, many new dwarf spheroidal satellites(dSphs) have been discovered by the Dark Energy Survey(DES). These dSphs are ideal candidates for probing for gamma-ray emissions from dark matter(DM) annihilation.However, no significant signature has been found by the Fermi-LAT dSph observations. In this work, we reanalyze the Fermi-LAT Pass 8 data from the direction of Reticulum II, where a slight excess has been reported by some previous studies. We treat Reticulum II(DES J0335.6-5403) as a spatially extended source, and find that no significant gamma-ray signature is observed. Based on this result, we set upper-limits on the DM annihilation cross section.  相似文献

We calculate double-differential cross sections for energetic photon production in intermediate energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. The production mechanism is assumed to be either that of collective bremsstrahlung or that of electromagnetic transitions between time-dependent single-particle states as emerging from a self-consistent treatment of the heavy-ion dynamics in the one-body limit (TDHF). Effects from residual nucleon-nucleon collisions on the collective current are further taken into account via a relaxation ansatz for the single-particle occupation numbers. The total yields for energetic photon production above 50 MeV in the simple limit considered indicate that up to 10% of the experimental cross sections can be attributed to collective bremsstrahlung and electromagnetic transitions.  相似文献

-rays are measured in coincidence with the dissipative complex fragments from the35Cl +64Ni reaction at 7.7 A MeV. Theoretical -ray coincidence spectra are determined through a fitting procedure using the contribution of the excited fragment statistical -decay calculated by means of the CASCADE code. Whereas the expected statistical spectra fit very well the data in the energy regionE =2 to 8 MeV, above this energy another emission mechanism in addition to the statistical decay has to be considered in order to reproduce the experimental spectra. Simulations based on the Vlasov equation suggest that this emission could come from the decay of dipole strength excited in the intermediate dinuclear system.The authors are greatly indebted with A. In 2011, JIANG Li-Yang deduced a new value for 1077 keV γ-ray emission probability by measuring the 69Ga(n,2n) 6SGa reaction cross section. The new value is about 20% lower than values obtained from previous absolute measurements and evaluations. In this paper, the discrepancies among the measurements and evaluations are analyzed carefully and the new values are re-recommended. Our recommended value for the emission probability of 1077 keV γ-ray is (2.72±0.16)%.  相似文献

Recent results from the PAMELA, ATIC, FERMI and HESS experiments have focused attention on the possible existence of high energy cosmic rays e+ e- that may originate from dark matter annihilations or decays in the Milky Way. Here we examine the morphology of the associated γ-ray emission after propagation of the electrons generated by both annihilating and decaying dark matter models. We focus on photon energies of 1, 10, and 50 GeV (relevant for the FERMI satellite) and consider different propagation parameters. Our main conclusion is that distinguishing annihilating from decaying dark matter may only be possible if the propagation parameters correspond to the most optimistic diffusion models. In addition, we point to examples where morphology can lead to an erroneous interpretation of the source injection energy.  相似文献

Nd3+ 1%, 5% and 10% doped BaF2 single crystals were grown by the micro-pulling down method. Photoluminescence properties, including excitation and emission spectra and luminescence decay were measured under synchrotron radiation excitation at the Superlumi station in HASYLAB at DESY (Hamburg, Germany). The Nd3+ related 5d-4f emission lines peaking around 180 nm, 230 nm, and 260 nm, identified as the 5d–4Ij, 5d–4Fj, and 5d–2Gj transitions, were observed under 140–168 nm excitation. In photoluminescence decay under the 160 nm excitation, the dominant component decay time is about 12, 2.5 and 1.2 ns for Nd3+ 1%, 5% and 10% concentration, respectively. The decay time shortening is explained by the concentration quenching effect. Transmittance of Nd1% sample is about 80% for wavelengths above 185 nm. Finally, gamma-ray responses, non-proportionality and energy resolution of Nd1% sample were compared with the undoped BaF2 scintillator. The light yield of the Nd1%:BaF2 is about 93% of that of undoped BaF2. ©2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.  相似文献

An efficient scheme for generating ultrabright γ-rays from the interaction of an intense laser pulse with a near-critical-density plasma is studied by using the two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation including quantum electrodynamic effects. We investigate the effects of target shape on γ-ray generation efficiency using three configurations of the solid foils attached behind the near-critical-density plasma: a flat foil without a channel (target 1), a flat foil with a channel (target 2), and a convex foil with a channel (target 3). When an intense laser propagates in a near-critical-density plasma, a large number of electrons are trapped and accelerated to GeV energy, and emit γ-rays via nonlinear betatron oscillation in the first stage. In the second stage, the accelerated electrons collide with the laser pulse reflected from the foil and emit high-energy, high-density γ-rays via nonlinear Compton scattering. The simulation results show that compared with the other two targets, target 3 affords better focusing of the laser field and electrons, which decreases the divergence angle of γ-photons. Consequently, denser and brighter γ-rays are emitted when target 3 is used. Specifically, a dense γ-ray pulse with a peak brightness of 4.6×1026 photons/s/mm2/mrad2/0.1%BW (at 100 MeV) and 1.8×1023 photons/s/mm2/mrad2/0.1%BW (at 2 GeV) are obtained at a laser intensity of 8.5×1022 W/cm2 when the plasma density is equal to the critical plasma density nc. In addition, for target 3, the effects of plasma channel length, foil curvature radius, laser polarization, and laser intensity on the γ-ray emission are discussed, and optimal values based on a series of simulations are proposed.  相似文献

Neutrinos produced from γ-ray bursts(GRBs) carry significant physical information. The electron density in the GRBs outflow is very large. In this study, we calculate the matter effect on neutrinos when they propagate through such a dense region. The average survival probability and the flavor ratio of neutrinos are determined. The ratio of resonant neutrino energy from different spherical shells provides the information of power index N for the power-law distribution of electrons in the hot fireball model. Electron density in the magnetic jet model is sufficiently lower than in the hot fireball model. The matter effect on neutrinos can be used to distinguish these two models. The coherent effect of strongly lensed PeV neutrinos is also discussed. The average survival probability of strongly-lensed electron neutrinos in the normal and inverted hierarchical cases are presented. The results show that this coherent effect can be used to determine the hierarchical mass of neutrinos.  相似文献

Correlations between the neutron and γ-ray emission and the kinetic energy of light charged particles (LCPs), such as protons, deuterons, tritons and alphas, from the fission of 252Cf were studied in a four parameter experiment. A ⊘ 16 cm × 5 cm liquid scintillator with n-γ discrimination and a ⊘ 10 cm × 10 cm NaI(Tl) crystal were employed to detect the neutrons and the γ rays, respectively, while a thin CsI(Tl) crystal, which had the ability to separate the LCPs, was used to determine the LCP energy. The experimental results show that for the α particle accompanied fission, the average total number of neutrons emitted per fission increases in the case of varying the alpha particle energy Eα from 7 to 11 MeV and then falls off linearly in a first approximation with increasing Eα, and the average total energy and the average total number of γ-rays per fission as well as the average γ-ray energy as functions of Eα show similar correlation features. For the hydrogen-ion accompanied fission, the correlations of the neutron and γ-ray emission with hydrogen ion (t, d and p) energy are very similar to those for the alpha-particle accompanied fission. The correlations of the neutron and γ-ray emission in the low LCP energy region, in contrast to that observed in the high LCP energy range, are called anomalies. On the basis of the results obtained by the three-point charge model and the liquid drop model calculation with shell and pairing correction, the anomalous behavior of the neutron and γ-ray emission is explained tentatively.  相似文献

Direct photon emission in heavy-ion collisions is calculated within the relativistic microscopic transport model UrQMD. We compare the results from the pure transport calculation to a hybrid-model calculation, where the high-density part of the evolution is replaced by an ideal 3-dimensional fluid-dynamic calculation. The effects of viscosity, present in the transport model but neglected in ideal fluid dynamics, are examined. We study the contribution of different production channels and non-thermal collisions to the spectrum of direct photons. Detailed comparisons to the measurements by the WA 98 collaboration are undertaken.  相似文献

The high energy γ-ray emission accompanying the spontaneous fission of 252Cf has been measured in coincidence with individual fission fragments selected by discrete γ-ray transitions. The enhancement of the γ-ray emission probability in the energy range Eγ= 3–8 MeV has been observed for the fission fragments in the region of nearly symmetric mass splitting, confirming results reported in previous investigations. The γ-γ coincidence technique employed in the present work clearly demonstrate that the major contribution to this enhancement is caused by the fission channels where one fragment is near to the N= 82 or Z= 50 shell closures. The high energy γ-ray emission probability does not show any significant dependence on the number of neutrons emitted in the fission process, supporting the hypothesis that high energy γ-rays are mainly emitted from the fragments after the neutron evaporation. The performance of the multi-detector array GASP is described in detail with emphasis on the improvement due to utilization of ancillary detectors. GASP has been running for three years producing interesting new data on different nuclear structure topics. The study of the decay-out of superdeformed bands in the A=130 mass region is presented. The sudden disappearance of the superdeformed bands in the odd133, 135, 137Nd isotopes is explained by the Total Routhian Surface calculations through a change of the nuclear shape which is microscopically related to the transfer of the valence neutron from a N=6 to a N=4 Nilsson orbital. A transient fieldg-factor measurement in the superdeformed band of133Nd will also be presented. A meang-factor of $\bar g = 0.31(8)$ has been determined at the I*=41/2+ superdeformed state. The experimental value is compared with theoretical predictions and supports the assignment of the superdeformed band to thev[660]1/2+ Nilsson intruder orbital.  相似文献

High-spin states of the 42Ca nucleus, populated in the 68 MeV 18O + 30Si reaction, have been studied in a γ-γ-recoil coincidence experiment. The level scheme of 42Ca has been extended up to 13.7 MeV. An elaborate decay pattern with various paths, together with high-quality DCO and polarization information assigns spins and parities for almost all observed levels. The sequence of non-yrast positive-parity states is discussed and compared with highly deformed bands in 36Ar and 40Ca. High intensity γ-ray source can be obtained through resonance reaction induced by protons. In this work, the possibility of using such high intensity MeV-range γ-ray source to transmute nuclear waste is investigated through Mont Carlo simulation.~(197) Au(γ, n)~(196)Au experiment is performed to obtain the transmutation rate and compared with the simulation result. If the current of the proton beam is 10 mA at the resonance energy of 441 keV, with the γ photons emitted from~7 Li(p, γ)~8 Be, then the corresponding transmutation yield for~(129)I in 2π direction can reach 9.4 × 10~9 per hour. The result is compared with that of LCS γ-ray source.  相似文献

This instrument has a number of advantages over the semiconductor and scintillation spectrometers that are used in radioecology. Excited states of 103Cd were studied in the reaction 58Ni(50Cr,4pn)103Cd. The NORDBALL array with neutron and charged particle detectors was employed for the detection of γ rays and light evaporated particles. The level scheme of 103Cd was significantly extended. A strong cascade of E2 transitions connecting negative parity states was found. Shell model calculations were performed and positive parity excited states were interpreted in terms of neutron-particle and proton-hole excitations with respect to the doubly magic N = Z = 50 core. The negative parity band was well reproduced by the total routhian surface calculations.  相似文献

Effects of γ-ray radiation grafting on aramid fibers and its composites   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Armos fiber was modified by Co60 γ-ray radiation in the different concentrations’ mixtures of phenol-formaldehyde and ethanol. Interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) was examined to characterize the effects of the treatment upon the interfacial bonding properties of Armos fibers/epoxy resin composites. The results showed that the ILSS of the composite, whose fibers were treated by 500 kGy radiation in 1.5 wt% PF, was improved by 25.4%. Nanoindentation technique analysis showed that the nanohardnesses of the various phases (the fiber, the interface and the matrix) in the composite, whose fibers were treated, were correspondingly higher than those in the composite, whose fibers were untreated. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrum confirmed the increase in the polar groups at the fibers’ surface. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) results revealed that the surface of the fibers treated was rougher than that of the fibers untreated. The wettability of the fibers’ surface was also enhanced by the treatment. The conclusion that γ-ray irradiation grafting significantly improved the surface properties of Armos fibers could be drawn.  相似文献
