Multislit-Based Emittance Measurement of Electron Beam from a Photocathode Radio-Frequency Gun

Measurement of emittance for a space-charge dominated electron beam from a photocathode rf gun is performed by employing the multislit-based method at Accelerator Laboratory of Tsinghua University. We present the design considerations on the multislit system and the experimental results, with special attention to the study of space charge induced emittance growth. The experimental results are in reasonable agreement with the PARMELA simulations. 相似文献

对光阴极微波电子枪进行了优化设计 ,给出了光阳极微波腔的形状、电参数和电场分布 .电子束团初始参数对束流横向发射度的影响 ,用 Parmela程序对其进行了优化 ,得到了一组最优参数 .考虑了补偿线圈对束流发射度的影响 ,对线圈的位置和电流的大小做了优化 .经过优化后得到腔出口处的横向发射度为 1 .39πmm.mrad,达到了设计时的要求. A 1.3 GHz photocathode RF gun is under study in peking University. The photocathode RF gun, composed of gun cavity, photocathode and Laser system, is expected to deliver a electron beam with a normalized transverse rms emittance of 1π mm·mrad at a charge of 1nC. This paper describes the development and application of an intense slow positron beam at IHEP with regard to its two main components.The Variable-Energy Positron Lifetime Spectroscopy (VEPLS) based on the pulsing system consisting of a chopper,a prebuncher and a buncher has been constructed in order to meet the needs of materials science development.At present,the time resolution of the VEPLS can easily reach about 386 ps with a peak-to-background ratio of about 600:1.A plugged-in 22Na positron source section for adjusting the newly built experimental station and for increasing the beam operation efficiency has been constructed.A slow positron beam with an intensity of 2.5x105 e+/s and the beam profile whose diameter is 10 mm has been obtained;the moderation efficiency of the tungsten mesh moderator reaches 5.1x 10-4 as calculated with an original positron source activity of 52 mCi. 相似文献

The high-power microwave devices with plasma-filled have been unique properties. One of the major problems associated with plasma-filled microwave sources is that ions from the plasma drift toward the gun regions of the tube. This bombardment is particularly dangerous for the gun,where high-energy ion impacts can damage The cathode surface and degrade its electron emission capabilities. One of the techniques investigated to mitigate this issue is to replace the material cathode with plasma cathode. A unique plasma cathode electron gun are investigated in detail experimentally in this paper. The PCE-gun has been operated at pulser voltage up to 8KV,discharge current up to 166A,and pulse lengths of up to 60s. 相似文献

GaAs光电阴极量子效率公式中用到的表面电子逸出概率,在阴极工作波段范围内通常视为与入射光子波长无关的常数。应用该结论对反射式GaAs光电阴极激活实验结果进行了拟合分析。实验采用分子束外延GaAs材料,外延发射层厚度为1.6μm、掺杂浓度为1×1019cm-3,分析结果显示理论曲线与实验曲线存在偏差,而在激活台内阴极灵敏度下降后的光谱响应曲线拟合结果偏差更大。这种偏差是由于表面电子逸出概率对入射光子波长的依赖关系造成的,并非通常认为的与波长无关。经过光谱响应曲线的拟合分析得出,反射式阴极表面电子逸出概率与入射光子波长之间近似满足指数关系,两者通过表面势垒因子相联系。高、低温激活后阴极表面势垒因子分别为3.53和1.36。 相似文献

A Physics-Based Compact Direct-Current and Alternating-Current Model for AlGaN/GaN High Electron Mobility Transistors

A set of analytical models for the dc and small signal characteristics of AIGaN/GaN high electron mobility transis- tors (HEMTs) are presented. A modified transferred-electron mobility model is adapted and a phenomenological low-field mobility model is developed. We calculate the channel charge considering the neutralization of donors and the contribution of free electrons in the AlGaN layer. The gate-to-source and gate-to-drain capacitances are obtained analytically, and the cut-off frequency is predicted. The models are implemented into the HSPICE simulator for the dc, ac and transient simulations and verified by experimental data for the first time. A high efficiency class-E GaN HEMT power amplifier is designed and simulated by the HSPICE to verify the applicability of our models. 相似文献

Results from computer aided design of a novel electron gun generating axis-encircling beams are presented and discussed. Numerical experiments were performed by the new version of the software package GUN-MIG named GUN-MIG/CUSP. It is based on a self-consistent relativistic model and is developed as a problem oriented tool for analysis of electron-optical systems with magnetron injection guns (MIG) and electron guns with field reversal (cusp guns), forming axis-encircling beams. As a result of the simulations an electron-optical design of a novel electron gun with permanent magnet system was accomplished. The gun is expected to form high quality beams with small velocity spread and beam ripple. Parameters of the generated beams are appropriate for a prospective weakly relativistic high harmonic large orbit gyrotron (LOG). The development of such device is in progress now at the Research Center for Development of Far-Infrared Region (FIR Center) at Fukui University. 相似文献

The energy recovery linac test facility(ERL-TF),a compact ERL-FEL(free electron laser)two-purpose machine,has been proposed at the Institute of High Energy Physics,Beijing.As one important component of the ERL-TF,the photo-injector was designed and preliminarily optimized.In this paper an evolutionary genetic method,non-dominated sorting genetic algorithmⅡ,is applied to optimize the injector beam dynamics,especially in the highcharge operation mode.Study shows that using an incident laser with rms transverse size of 1-1.2 mm,the normalized emittance of the electron beam can be kept below 1 mm·mrad at the end of the injector.This work,together with the previous optimization of the low-charge operation mode by using the iterative scan method,provides guidance and confidence for future construction and commissioning of the ERL-TF injector. 相似文献
