Intriguing properties and functions are expected to implant into metal–organic layers (MOLs) to achieve tailored pore environments and multiple functionalities owing to the synergies among multiple components. Herein, we demonstrate a facile one‐pot synthetic strategy to incorporate multiple functionalities into stable zirconium MOLs via secondary ligand pillaring. Through the combination of Zr6‐BTB (BTB=benzene‐1,3,5‐tribenzoate) layers and diverse secondary ligands (including ditopic and tetratopic linkers), 31 MOFs with multi‐functionalities were systematically prepared. Notably, a metal–phthalocyanine fragment was successfully incorporated into this Zr‐MOL system, giving rise to an ideal platform for the selective oxidation of anthracene. The organic functionalization of two‐dimensional MOLs can generate tunable porous structures and environments, which may facilitate the excellent catalytic performance of as‐synthesized materials.  相似文献

Metal–organic layers (MOLs) represent an emerging class of tunable and functionalizable two‐dimensional materials. In this work, the scalable solvothermal synthesis of self‐supporting MOLs composed of [Hf6O4(OH)4(HCO2)6] secondary building units (SBUs) and benzene‐1,3,5‐tribenzoate (BTB) bridging ligands is reported. The MOL structures were directly imaged by TEM and AFM, and doped with 4′‐(4‐benzoate)‐(2,2′,2′′‐terpyridine)‐5,5′′‐dicarboxylate (TPY) before being coordinated with iron centers to afford highly active and reusable single‐site solid catalysts for the hydrosilylation of terminal olefins. MOL‐based heterogeneous catalysts are free from the diffusional constraints placed on all known porous solid catalysts, including metal–organic frameworks. This work uncovers an entirely new strategy for designing single‐site solid catalysts and opens the door to a new class of two‐dimensional coordination materials with molecular functionalities.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) metal‐organic layers (MOLs) are the 2D version of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) with nanometer thickness in one dimension. MOLs are also known as 2D‐MOFs, 2D coordination polymers, ultrathin MOF nanosheets (UMOFNs) or coordination nanosheets in literature. This new category of 2D materials has attracted a lot of interests because of the opportunity in combining molecular chemistry, surface/interface chemistry and material chemistry of low dimensional materials in these systems. Several synthetic strategies have been developed for the construction of 2D MOLs, but the general synthesis of MOLs still presents a challenge. This tutorial level review summarizes the recent progress in the fabrication of novel 2D MOLs and aims to highlight challenges in this field.  相似文献

Although graphene nanomesh is an attractive 2D carbon material, general synthetic routes to produce functional graphene nanomesh in large‐scale are complex and tedious. Herein, we elaborately design a simple two‐step dimensional reduction strategy for exploring nitrogen‐doped graphene nanomesh by thermal exfoliation of crystal‐ and shape‐modified metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs). MOF nanoleaves with 2D rather than 3D crystal structure are used as the precursor, which are further thermally unraveled into nitrogen‐doped graphene nanomesh by using metal chlorides as the exfoliators and etching agent. The nitrogen‐doped graphene nanomesh has a unique ultrathin two‐dimensional morphology, high porosity, rich and accessible nitrogen‐doped active sites, and defective graphene edges, contributing to an unprecedented catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acid electrolytes. This approach is suitable for scalable production.  相似文献

Layered two‐dimensional (2D) conjugated metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a family of rising electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), due to the controllable architectures, excellent electrical conductivity, and highly exposed well‐defined molecular active sites. Herein, we report a copper phthalocyanine based 2D conjugated MOF with square‐planar cobalt bis(dihydroxy) complexes (Co‐O4) as linkages (PcCu‐O8‐Co) and layer‐stacked structures prepared via solvothermal synthesis. PcCu‐O8‐Co 2D MOF mixed with carbon nanotubes exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ORR activity (E1/2=0.83 V vs. RHE, n=3.93, and jL=5.3 mA cm?2) in alkaline media, which is the record value among the reported intrinsic MOF electrocatalysts. Supported by in situ Raman spectro‐electrochemistry and theoretical modeling as well as contrast catalytic tests, we identified the cobalt nodes as ORR active sites. Furthermore, when employed as a cathode electrocatalyst for zinc–air batteries, PcCu‐O8‐Co delivers a maximum power density of 94 mW cm?2, outperforming the state‐of‐the‐art Pt/C electrocatalysts (78.3 mW cm?2).  相似文献

The catalytic acceptorless dehydrogenation (CAD) is an attractive synthetic route to unsaturated compounds because of its high atomic efficiency. Here we report electrochemical acceptorless dehydrogenation of N‐heterocycles to obtain quinoline or indole derivatives using metal‐organic layer (MOL) catalyst. MOL is the two‐dimensional version of metal‐organic frameworks (MOF), and it can be constructed on conductive multi‐walled carbon nanotubes via facile solvothermal synthesis to overcome the conductivity constraint for MOFs in electrocatalysis. TEMPO‐OPO32? was incorporated into the system through a ligand exchange with capping formate on the MOL surface to serve as the active catalytic centers. The hybrid catalyst is efficient in the organic conversion and can be readily recycled and reused.  相似文献

A flexible and versatile method to fabricate two‐dimensional metal–organic coordination networks (MOCNs) by bottom‐up self‐assembly is described. 2D crystalline layers were formed at the air–water interface, coordinated by ions from the liquid phase, and transferred onto a solid substrate with their crystallinity preserved. By using an inherently three‐dimensional amphiphile, namely 25,26,27,28‐tetrapropoxycalix[4]arene‐5,11,17,23‐tetracarboxylic acid, and a copper metal node, large and monocrystalline dendritic MOCN domains were formed. The method described allows for the fabrication of monolayers of tunable crystallinity on liquid and solid substrates. It can be applied to a large range of differently functionalized organic building blocks, also beyond macrocycles, which can be interconnected by diverse metal nodes.  相似文献

To increase the red blood cell (RBC) cryopreservation efficiency by metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), a dimensional reduction approach has been proposed. Namely, 3D MOF nanoparticles are progressively reduced to 2D ultra-thin metal–organic layers (MOLs). We found that 2D MOLs are beneficial for enhanced interactions of the interfacial hydrogen-bonded water network and increased utilization of inner ordered structures, due to the higher surface-to-volume ratio. Specifically, a series of hafnium (Hf)-based 2D MOLs with different thicknesses (monolayer to stacked multilayers) and densities of hydrogen bonding sites have been synthesized. Both ice recrystallization inhibition activity (IRI) and RBCs cryopreservation assay confirm the pronounced better IRI activity and excellent cell recovery efficiency (up to ≈63 % at a very low concentration of 0.7 mg mL−1) of thin-layered Hf-MOLs compared to their 3D counterparts, thereby verifying the dimensional reduction strategy to improved cryoprotectant behaviors.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework (MOFs) two‐dimensional (2D) nanosheets have many coordinatively unsaturated metal sites that act as active centres for catalysis. To date, limited numbers of 2D MOFs nanosheets can be obtained through top‐down or bottom‐up synthesis strategies. Herein, we report a 2D oxide sacrifice approach (2dOSA) to facilely synthesize ultrathin MOF‐74 and BTC MOF nanosheets with a flexible combination of metal sites, which cannot be obtained through the delamination of their bulk counterparts (top‐down) or the conventional solvothermal method (bottom‐up). The ultrathin iron–cobalt MOF‐74 nanosheets prepared are only 2.6 nm thick. The sample enriched with surface coordinatively unsaturated metal sites, exhibits a significantly higher oxygen evolution reaction reactivity than bulk FeCo MOF‐74 particles and the state‐of‐the‐art MOF catalyst. It is believed that this 2dOSA could provide a new and simple way to synthesize various ultrathin MOF nanosheets for wide applications.  相似文献

We first studied the reactivity of H2O vapor in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with Pt nanocrystals (NCs) through the water–gas shift (WGS) reaction. A water‐stable MOF, UiO‐66, serves as a highly effective support material for the WGS reaction compared with ZrO2. The origin of the high catalytic performance was investigated using in situ IR spectroscopy. In addition, from a comparison of the catalytic activities of Pt on UiO‐66, where Pt NCs are located on the surface of UiO‐66 and Pt@UiO‐66, where Pt NCs are coated with UiO‐66, we found that the competitive effects of H2O condensation and diffusion in the UiO‐66 play important roles in the catalytic activity of Pt NCs. A thinner UiO‐66 coating further enhanced the WGS reaction activity of Pt NCs by minimizing the negative effect of slow H2O diffusion in UiO‐66.  相似文献

We report the rational design of metal–organic layers (MOLs) that are built from [Hf6O4(OH)4(HCO2)6] secondary building units (SBUs) and Ir[bpy(ppy)2]+‐ or [Ru(bpy)3]2+‐derived tricarboxylate ligands (Hf‐BPY‐Ir or Hf‐BPY‐Ru; bpy=2,2′‐bipyridine, ppy=2‐phenylpyridine) and their applications in X‐ray‐induced photodynamic therapy (X‐PDT) of colon cancer. Heavy Hf atoms in the SBUs efficiently absorb X‐rays and transfer energy to Ir[bpy(ppy)2]+ or [Ru(bpy)3]2+ moieties to induce PDT by generating reactive oxygen species (ROS). The ability of X‐rays to penetrate deeply into tissue and efficient ROS diffusion through ultrathin 2D MOLs (ca. 1.2 nm) enable highly effective X‐PDT to afford superb anticancer efficacy.  相似文献

The incorporation of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) into membrane‐shaped architectures is of great importance for practical applications. The currently synthesized MOF‐based membranes show many disadvantages, such as poor compatibility, low dispersity, and instability, which severely limit their utility. Herein, we present a general, facile, and robust approach for the synthesis of MOF‐based composite membranes through the in situ growth of MOF plates in the channels of anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes. After being used as catalysis reactors, they exhibit high catalytic performance and stability in the Knoevenagel condensation reaction. The high catalytic performance might be attributed to the intrinsic structure of MOF‐based composite membranes, which can remove the products from the reaction zone quickly, and prevent the aggregation and loss of catalysts during reaction and recycling process.  相似文献

The exploitation of new and active earth‐abundant metal catalysts is critical for sustainable chemical production. Herein, we demonstrate the design of highly efficient, robust, and reusable ZnII‐bipyridine‐based metal–organic framework (MOF) catalysts for the intramolecular hydroamination of o‐alkynylanilines to indoles. Under similar conditions homogeneous catalytic systems mainly provide hydrolysate. Our results prove that MOFs support unique internal environments that can affect the direction of chemical reactions. The ZnII‐catalyzed hydroamination reaction can be conducted without additional ligands, base, or acid, and is thus a very clean reaction system with regard to its environmental impact.  相似文献

Since the discovery of size‐selective metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), researchers have tried to incorporate these materials into gas separation membranes. Impressive gas selectivities were found, but these MOF membranes were mostly made on inorganic supports, which are generally too bulky and expensive for industrial gas separation. Forming MOF layers on porous polymer supports is industrially attractive but technically challenging. Two features to overcome these problems are described: 1) a metal chelating support polymer to bind the MOF layer, and 2) control of MOF crystal growth by contra‐diffusion, aiming at a very thin nanocrystalline MOF layer. Using a metal chelating poly‐thiosemicarbazide (PTSC) support and adjusting the metal and organic ligand concentrations carefully, a very compact ZIF‐8 (ZIF=zeolitic imidazolate framework) layer was produced that displayed interference colors because of its smooth surface and extreme thinness—within the range of visible light. High performances were measured in terms of hydrogen/propane (8350) and propylene/propane (150) selectivity.  相似文献

Ultrathin metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (NSs) offer potential for many applications, but the synthetic strategies are largely limited to top‐down, low‐yield exfoliation methods. Herein, Ni–M–MOF (M=Fe, Al, Co, Mn, Zn, and Cd) NSs are reported with a thickness of only several atomic layers, prepared by a large‐scale, bottom‐up solvothermal method. The solvent mixture of N,N‐dimethylacetamide and water plays key role in controlling the formation of these two‐dimensional MOF NSs. The MOF NSs can be directly used as efficient electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, in which the Ni–Fe–MOF NSs deliver a current density of 10 mA cm?2 at a low overpotential of 221 mV with a small Tafel slope of 56.0 mV dec?1, and exhibit excellent stability for at least 20 h without obvious activity decay. Density functional theory calculations on the energy barriers for OER occurring at different metal sites confirm that Fe is the active site for OER at Ni–Fe–MOF NSs.  相似文献

The development of efficient and low energy‐consumption catalysts for CO2 conversion is desired, yet remains a great challenge. Herein, a class of novel hollow porous carbons (HPC), featuring well dispersed dopants of nitrogen and single Zn atoms, have been fabricated, based on the templated growth of a hollow metal–organic framework precursor, followed by pyrolysis. The optimized HPC‐800 achieves efficient catalytic CO2 cycloaddition with epoxides, under light irradiation, at ambient temperature, by taking advantage of an ultrahigh loading of (11.3 wt %) single‐atom Zn and uniform N active sites, high‐efficiency photothermal conversion as well as the hierarchical pores in the carbon shell. As far as we know, this is the first report on the integration of the photothermal effect of carbon‐based materials with single metal atoms for catalytic CO2 fixation.  相似文献

Precise control of the number and position of the catalytic metal ions in heterogeneous catalysts remains a big challenge. Here we synthesized a series of two‐dimensional (2D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) containing two different types of nitrogen ligands, namely imine and bipyridine, with controllable contents. For the first time, the selective coordination of the two nitrogen ligands of the 2D COFs to two different metal complexes, chloro(1,5‐cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I) (Rh(COD)Cl) and palladium(II) acetate (Pd(OAc)2), has been realized using a programmed synthetic procedure. The bimetallically docked COFs showed excellent catalytic activity in a one‐pot addition–oxidation cascade reaction. The high surface area, controllable metal‐loading content, and predesigned active sites make them ideal candidates for their use as heterogeneous catalysts in a wide range of chemical reactions.  相似文献

Controlling the arrangement of different metal ions to achieve ordered heterogeneity in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has been a great challenge. Herein, we introduce a template‐directed approach, in which a 1D metal–organic polymer incorporating well‐defined binding pockets for the secondary metal ions used as a structural template and starting material for the preparation of well‐ordered bimetallic MOF‐74s under heterogeneous‐phase hydrothermal reaction conditions in the presence of secondary metal ions such as Ni2+ and Mg2+ in 3 h. The resulting bimetallic MOF‐74s were found to possess a nearly 1:1 metal ratio regardless of their initial stoichiometry in the reaction mixture, thus demonstrating the possibility of controlling the arrangement of metal ions within the secondary building blocks in MOFs to tune their intrinsic properties such as gas affinity.  相似文献

Materials with hysteretic multi‐step spin‐crossover (SCO) have potential application in high‐order data storage. Here, an unprecedented hysteretic four‐step SCO behavior with the sequence of LS↔HS0.25LS0.75↔HS0.5LS0.5↔ HS0.75LS0.25↔HS is found in a three‐dimensional (3D) Hofmann‐type metal–organic framework (MOF), which is evidenced by magnetic, differential scanning calorimetry, and crystal data. Further experiments involving guest exchange leads to the first reversible modulation of four‐, two‐, and one‐stepped SCO behaviors, which provides a new strategy for developing multi‐step SCO materials.  相似文献
