Thermal decomposition of transition metal malonates, MCH2C2O4?xH2O and transition metal succinates, M(CH2)2C2O4?xH2O (M=Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) has been studied employing TG, DTG, DTA, XRD, SEM, IR and Mössbauer spectroscopic techniques. After dehydration, the anhydrous metal malonates and succinates decompose directly to their respective metal oxides in the temperature ranges 310–400 and 400–525°C, respectively. The oxides obtained have been found to be nanosized. The thermal stability of succinates have been found to be higher than that of the respective malonates.  相似文献

Solid state M-L, where M stands for bivalent transition metals (Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)) and L is mandelate, were synthesized. Simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry, elemental analysis and complexometry were used to establish the stoichiometry and to study the thermal behaviour of these compounds in CO2 and N2 atmospheres. The results show that all the compounds were obtained in the anhydrous state and in agreement with the general formula ML2. The thermal decomposition of the compounds occurs in a single (Cu(II)), two (Ni(II)) three (Fe(II), Co(II)), four (Mn(II)) and five (Zn(II)) steps. The results also provided information concerning the ligand’s denticity, thermal behaviour, final residues and identification of gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition of these compounds.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) 3-methyladipates were investigated and their qualitative composition and magnetic moments were determined. The IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared of the general formula M(C7H10O4nH2O (n=0-11) were recorded and their thermal decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes are dehydrated in one (Co, Ni) or two steps (Mn, Zn) losing all crystallization water molecules (Co, Ni) or some water molecules (Mn, Zn) and then anhydrous (Co, Ni, Cu) or hydrated complexes (Mn, Zn) decompose directly to oxides (Mn, Co, Zn) or with intermediate formation the mixture of M+MO (Ni, Cu). The carboxylate groups are bidentate (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or monodentate (Zn). The complexes exist as polymers. The magnetic moments for the paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.48, 4.49, 2.84 and 1.45 B.M., respectively. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The new complexes of 2-[(2-oxo-1,2-dihydroindol-3-ylidene)amino]butanoic acid, LH (where L = C12H11N2O3), with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) of general formulae MLCl·nH2O, for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), and ML2·H2O for Mn(II) and Zn(II), where n = 1, 2 depending on M(II) ions, are synthesized. The complexes crystallize in a monoclinic system, and upon heating in the air (293–1173 K) decompose in three steps forming eventually the corresponding oxides of the metals(II). In the course of this process the organic ligand decomposes releasing the molecules of H2O, CO2, NH3, CO, hydrocarbons, and additionally HCl for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. Magnetic moments of compounds are determined in the ranges of 76–303 and 2–300 K. All analyzed compounds, except that of Zn(II), demonstrate the paramagnetic properties with the ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions between molecular centres.

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 4-methylphthalates were investigated and their composition, solubility in water at 295 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with molar ratio of metal to organic ligand of 1.0:1.0 and general formula: M [ CH3C6H3(CO2)2nH2o (n=1-3) were recorded and their decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes are dehydrated in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd) or two steps (Cu) and next the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Cu, Zn), with intermediate formation of carbonates (Mn, Cd), oxocarbonates (Ni) or carbonate and free metal (Co). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are mono- and bidentate (Co, Ni), bidentate chelating and bridging (Zn) or bidentate chelating (Mn, Cu, Cd). The magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.92, 5.05, 3.36 and 1.96 M.B., respectively. The thermal decomposition (TG, DTG and DTA) of the complexes of biguanide with the following metals was studied: V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn. Structural water, when present, is first eliminated at ~100–150°C; this is followed by a main decomposition state at ~300–350°C. Pyrolytic residues are analysed and characterised by their x-ray powder diffraction patterns and are found to be the oxides V2O5, Cr2O3, Mn3O4, Co3O4, NiO, CuO and ZnO, respectively. The decomposition curves of the free ligand (biguanide) and biguanide sulphate are also given. The decomposition characteristics are discussed.  相似文献

In this study, COx-free hydrogen production via methane decomposition was studied over Cu–Zn-promoted tri-metallic Ni–Co–Al catalysts. The catalysts have been prepared by the constant pH co-precipitation method, and the nominal Ni metal loading was fixed at 50 wt % along with other metals at 10 wt% each. The catalyst activity for methane decomposition reaction was examined in a reactor between 400 °C and 700 °C and at atmospheric pressure. Different techniques such as N2-physisorption, X-ray diffraction, H2-TPR SEM, TEM, ICP-MS, TGA, and Raman spectroscopy were applied to characterize the catalysts. The relation between the catalyst composition and their catalytic activity has been investigated. The controlled synthesis has resulted in a series of catalysts with a high surface area. Ni–Co–Cu–Zn–Al was the most active and productive catalyst. Various characterizations indicate that the promotional effects of Cu–Zn interaction were the critical factor in catalysts' activity and stability. Ni–Co–Cu–Zn catalyst gave the highest methane conversion of 85% at 700 °C. Zn addition improves the stability of the catalyst by retaining the active metal size during the decomposition reaction. The catalyst was active for 80 h of stability study. The rapid deactivation of the Ni–Co catalyst was due to the sintering of the catalyst at 650 °C. Moreover, carbon species accumulated during the methane decomposition reaction depend on the catalysts' composition. Zn promotes the growth of reasonably long and thin carbon nanotubes, whereas the diameter of carbon nanotubes on unpromoted catalysts was large.  相似文献

Characterization, thermal stability and thermal decomposition of transition metal malonates, MCH2C2O4·nH2O (M = Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II)), as well as, the thermal behaviour of malonic acid (C3H4O4) and its sodium salt (Na2CH2C2O4·H2O) were investigated employing simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared spectroscopy, TG-FTIR system, elemental analysis and complexometry. The dehydration, as well as, the thermal decomposition of the anhydrous compounds occurs in a single step. For the sodium malonate the final residue up to 700 °C is sodium carbonate, while the transition metal malonates the final residue up to 335 °C (Mn), 400 °C (Fe), 340 °C (Co), 350 °C (Ni), 520 °C (Cu) and 450 °C (Zn) is Mn3O4, Fe2O3, Co3O4, NiO, CuO and ZnO, respectively. The results also provided information concerning the ligand's denticity, thermal behaviour and identification of some gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition of these compounds.  相似文献

A series of MnOx modified cobalt oxides with different atomic molar ratios of Mn/(Mn?+?Co) were prepared by a soft reactive grinding route and investigated for CO preferential oxidation in H2. It was found that as-prepared Mn-doped cobalt oxides exhibited superior activity compared to the single constituted oxides, other Mn–Co–O mixed oxides synthesized by solution-based route, and other grinding-derived mixed metal oxides M–Co–O (M?=?Zn, Ni, Cu, Fe). The grinding-derived MnCo10 catalyst with Mn/(Mn?+?Co) molar ration of 10% showed the best CO oxidation activity and higher selectivity at low temperature. The surface richness of Co3+ was not found as increasing the Mn molar ratio in the present work. However, the incoporation of MnOx with proper amount into Co3O4 could produce high surface area, high structure defects, and rich surface active oxygen species, while the ability to supply the active oxygen species was suggested to play the crucial role in promoting the catalytic performance of Mn–Co–O mixed oxides.  相似文献

Thermal investigation of metal carboxylato complexes of the first transition metals, Mn(II), Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and non-transition metals like Zn(II) and Cd(II) in the solid state has been carried out under non-isothermal conditions in nitrogen atmosphere by simultaneous TG and DTA. TG and DTA curves inferred that the thermal stability of the complex decreased approximately with the increase of the standard potential of the central metal ion. The thermal parameters like activation energy, Ea, enthalpy change, ΔH, and entropy change, ΔS, corresponding to the dehydration and decomposition of the complexes are determined from TG and DTA curves by standard methods. A linear correlation is found between ΔH and ΔS and Ea and ΔS in dehydration and decomposition processes. DTA curves show an irreversible phase transition for Na2Mn(mal)2], Na2[Cu(mal)2] and Na2,[Co(suc)2] complexes. The residual products in these decomposition processes being a mixture of two oxides, of oxide and carbonate or a mixture of two carbonates.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzoates were investigated and their quantitative composition and magnetic moments were determined. The IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared of general formula M(C9H9O3)2·nH2O (n=2 for Mn, Co n=1 for Ni, Cu, n=0 for Zn, Cd) were prepared and their thermal decomposition in air was studied. Their solubility in water at 293 K is of the order 10–2 (Mn)–10–4 (Cu) mol dm–3. IR spectra of the prepared 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzoates suggest that carboxylate groups are bidentate bridging. The magnetic moments for the paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.50, 4.45, 3.16 and 1.79 B. M., respectively. During heating the hydrated complexes lose crystallization water molecules in one step and then the anhydrous complexes decompose directly to oxides MO and Mn3O4. Only Co(II) complex decomposes to Co3O4 with intermediate formation CoO.  相似文献

The vaporization behaviors of eight heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cu, Cd, Cr, Co, Mn, and Ni) in municipal solid wastes incineration (MSWI) fly ash during thermal treatment under air atmosphere (21% O2/79% N2), an inert atmosphere (100% N2), and a reducing atmosphere (50% CO/50% N2) were evaluated based on a thermodynamic equilibrium calculation by FactSage 8.1. The results show that the reducing atmosphere promotes the melting of MSWI fly ash, resulting in a more liquid phase than in air or an inert atmosphere. Except for Cd, the formation of liquids can dissolve heavy metals and reduce their vaporization ratio. In the air and inert atmospheres, Pb, Zn, Cu, Co, Mn, and Ni vaporize mainly in the form of metallic chlorides, while Cd volatilizes in the form of metallic Cd (g) and CdO (g). In the reducing atmosphere, Co, Mn, and Ni still vaporize as chlorides. Zn and Cd mainly vaporize in the form of Zn (g) and Cd (g), respectively. In terms of Pb, in addition to its chlorides, the volatiles of Pb contain some Pb (g) and PbS (g). Cr has a low vaporization ratio, accounting for 2.4% of the air atmosphere. Cr, on the other hand, readily reacts with Ca to form water-soluble CrCaO4, potentially increasing Cr leaching. Except for Cd, the results of this study suggest that the reducing atmosphere is used for the thermal treatment of MSWI fly ash because it promotes the melting of fly ash and thus prevents heavy metal vaporization.  相似文献

A silica-based inorganic sorbent was synthesized by the thermal decomposition of ammonium heptamolybdate on silica and applied for the preconcentration and simultaneous determination of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, and Pb in river water samples using a column system with flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Attenuated total reflection-Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and electron dispersive spectroscopy were used for sorbent characterization. The effects of pH, sample volume, eluent type, eluent concentration, eluent volume, sample flow rate, and matrix ions (Al, Bi, Ca, Mg, and Zn) on the recovery of the metals in model solutions were investigated. The adsorption capacities (µmol g?1) of SiO2-MoO3 were 88.96 (Cd), 169.69 (Co), 153.85 (Cr), 188.88 (Cu), 179.05 (Fe), 163.81 (Mn), 136.31 (Ni), and 38.61 (Pb). The detection limits of the method were 9.09, 10.82, 10.77, 49.57, 31.64, 6.40, 8.86, 19.15?µg L?1 for Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, and Pb, respectively, with a preconcentration factor of 25. The developed method was used for the determination of the target metals in real samples and the recoveries for spiked samples were found to be from 91.2% to 102.9%.  相似文献

Solid-state M-2-MeO-CP compounds, where M represents bivalent Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and 2-MeO-CP is 2-methoxycinnamylidenepyruvate, were synthesized for the first time. Simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffractometry, infrared spectroscopy, TG-FTIR system, elemental analysis and complexometry have been used to characterize and to study the thermal behaviour of the compounds. The dehydration in all the compounds, except for iron occurs in a single step. The thermal decomposition of the anhydrous compounds occurs in two or three steps with the formation of the respective oxides, Mn3O4, Fe2O3, Co3O4, NiO, CuO and ZnO, as final residue. The results also provided information concerning the thermal behaviour and identification of the gaseous products evolved during the heating of these compounds.  相似文献

New boracites containing nitrato- or fluoroanions that appear to be true low-pressure phases have been synthesized at superatmospheric pressures. The M3B7O13NO3 compounds (M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd) transform rapidly and reversibly in the temperature region 300–500°C between probable orthorhombic and face centered cubic symmetry, while the M3B7O13F compounds (M = Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Zn) appear to maintain rhombohedral symmetry up to their decomposition temperatures of 800–900°C. True high-pressure boracite-like phases containing F and Cr, Mn, Fe, or Co that decompose upon heating to M3B7O13F have also been isolated.  相似文献
