The real part of the time-dependent ac susceptibility of the short-range Ising spin glass in a transverse field has been investigated at very low temperatures. We have used the quantum linear response theory and domain coarsening ideas of quantum droplet scaling theory. It is found that after a temperature quench to a temperature T 1 (lower than the spin glass transition temperature T g ) the ac susceptibility decreases with time approximately in a logarithmic way as the system tends to the equilibrium. It is shown that the transverse field of tunneling has unessential effect on the nonequilibrium dynamical properties of the magnetic droplet system. The real and imaginary parts of the dynamic linear magnetic susceptibility at very low temperatures are found within the quantum droplet model of Ising spin glass, and their temperature and frequency dependences are calculated analytically and numerically. The nonequilibrium theory of the response of quantum-mechanical systems is used. The slow, quasi-equilibrium dynamics and the divergence of the dynamic linear susceptibility are investigated. Numerical calculations illustrate the crossover between the low-frequency and high-frequency regimes. A transition to the glasslike state is assumed to occur at a nonzero temperature. At zero temperature, the results are identical to those obtained earlier. The spin-glass ageing is considered briefly in the model at hand.  相似文献

We compute the exact partition function of 2d Ising spin glasses with binary couplings. In these systems, the ground state is highly degenerate and is separated from the first excited state by a gap of size 4J. Nevertheless, we find that the low temperature specific heat density scales as exp(-2J/T), corresponding to an "effective" gap of size 2J; in addition, an associated crossover length scale grows as exp(J/T). We justify these scalings via the degeneracy of the low lying excitations and by the way low energy domain walls proliferate in this model.  相似文献

The ageing effect is studied analytically in a disordered quantum system interacting with its surroundings and subjected to an external ac magnetic field. Energy dissipation is due to the interaction of the system with a set of independent harmonic oscillators, imitating a quantum thermal bath. Dynamic equations for the autocorrelation function and linear-response function are derived using the method of closed-path integrals. The effect of an external field is studied on the correlation function and response in the spin-glass and paramagnetic phases. Both functions are found to depend on the spin interaction strength.  相似文献

With the help of recent results in the mathematical theory of master equations, we present a rigorous derivation of the stochastic Glauber dynamics of Ising models from Hamiltonian quantum mechanics. A thermal bath is explicitly constructed and, as an illustration, the dynamics of the Ising-Weiss model is analyzed in the thermodynamic limit. We thus obtain an example of a nonequilibrium statistical mechanical system for which a link without mathematical gap can be established from microscopic quantum mechanics to a macroscopic irreversible thermodynamic process.  相似文献

通过动力学蒙特卡罗模拟对Sherrington-Kirkpatric (SK)自旋玻璃模型进行研究. 结果表明,弱场下自旋玻璃的磁化率在转变点非常陡峭,而比热容则呈现比较宽的转变. 同时,也成功地模拟了自旋玻璃体的年龄效应和记忆效应. 通过模拟发现,不同的弛豫时间对系统的能量影响很大,这直接导致了年龄效应和记忆效应;各向同性的SK模型不能给出实验中的交换偏移现象. 关键词: 自旋玻璃 记忆效应 年龄效应 磁化率  相似文献

We study the spin dynamics in charged quantum dots in the situation where the resident electron is coupled to only about 200 nuclear spins and where the electron spin splitting induced by the Overhauser field does not exceed markedly the spectral broadening. The formation of a dynamical nuclear polarization as well as its subsequent decay by the dipole-dipole interaction is directly resolved in time. Because not limited by intrinsic nonlinearities, almost complete nuclear polarization is achieved, even at elevated temperatures. The data suggest a nonequilibrium mode of nuclear polarization, distinctly different from the spin temperature concept exploited on bulk semiconductors.  相似文献

The effect of a uniform field H on the dynamics of the Ising spin glass FexZn1-xF2, x=0.25, is studied through Monte Carlo simulations. The correlation function data are consistent with the droplets picture, with a single scaling variable t/tw, where tw is the waiting time under H, activation over logarithmic energy barriers near the percolation threshold, xp=0.24, and considerable change of the glassy phase for intermediate and high H.  相似文献

Using the Ising model and the random-field approximation, it is demonstrated that, in amorphous diluted magnets and crystalline metal alloys, the nearest neighbor interaction promotes a superparamagnetic state, which is followed by “freezing” of the magnetic moments of clusters and by transition into a macrospin glass state (cluster spin glass) as the temperature decreases. An interacting Ising spin system on a lattice with the competing influence of spin-flip (Glauber) and spin-exchange (Kawasaki) dynamics is studied. The exact nonequilibrium steady-state solution of the pair correlation function in one dimension is derived and compared with the simulation data.
