It is observed that if Δ is a system of orbit representatives for the action of a finite group G on a G-stable subset L of a finite set S and if F is a field of characteristic zero, then FS is an algebra of dimension |S|. Furthermore, if S = RD, the set of functions from a finite set D to a finite set R, then FS has a multilinear structure. A general problem is stated: Given linear operators T1 and T2, construct vectors v1, … vt?FS such that T2IΔ = T1(v1 + … + vt) where lΔ is the indicator or characteristic function of Δ. (Note that this construction gives, in some sense, a solution to the problem of isomorph rejection.) For appropriate choices of T1 and T2, two approaches to this construction problem are considered. These are the principle of inclusion-exclusion and backtrack computer programming. In particular, these approaches are discussed when S = RD and the vectors to be constructed are pure or homogeneous tensors.  相似文献

In this article we consider a spectral sequence (Er,dr) associated to a filtered Morse-Conley chain complex (C,Δ), where Δ is a connection matrix. The underlying motivation is to understand connection matrices under continuation. We show how the spectral sequence is completely determined by a family of connection matrices. This family is obtained by a sweeping algorithm for Δ over fields F as well as over Z. This algorithm constructs a sequence of similar matrices Δ0=Δ,Δ1,… , where each matrix is related to the others via a change-of-basis matrix. Each matrix Δr over F (resp., over Z) determines the vector space (resp., Z-module) Er and the differential dr. We also prove the integrality of the final matrix ΔR produced by the sweeping algorithm over Z which is quite surprising, mainly because the intermediate matrices in the process may not have this property. Several other properties of the change-of-basis matrices as well as the intermediate matrices Δr are obtained.  相似文献

Let (K, M, H) be an upper triangular biomodule problem. Brüstle and Hille showed that the opposite algebra A of the endomorphism algebra of a projective generator P of the matrices category of (K, M, H) is quasi-hereditary, and there is an equivalence between the category of Δ-good modules of A and Mat(K, M). In this note, based on the tame theorem for bimodule problems, we show that if the algebra A associated with an upper triangular bimodule problem is of Δ-tame representation type, then the category F(Δ) has the homogeneous property, i.e. almost all modules in F(Δ) are isomorphic to their Auslander-Reiten translations. Moreover, if (K, M, H) is an upper triangular bipartite bimodule problem, then A is of Δ-tame representation type if and only if F(Δ) is homogeneous.  相似文献

If A and B are self-adjoint operators, this paper shows that A and B have order isomorphic invariant subspace lattices if and only if there are Borel subsets E and F of σ(A) and σ(B), respectively, whose complements have spectral measure zero, and there is a bijective function φ: EF such that (i) Δ is a Borel subset of E if and only if φ(Δ) is a Borel subset of F; (ii) a Borel subset Δ of E has A-spectral measure zero if and only if φ(Δ) has B-spectral measure zero; (iii) B is unitarily equivalent to φ(A). If A is any self-adjoint operator, there is an associated function κA : N ∪ {∞} → (N ∪ {0, ∞}) × {0,1} defined in this paper. If F denotes the collection of all functions from N ∪ {∞} into (N ∪ {0,∞}) × {0,1}, then F is a parameter space for the isomorphism classes of the invariant subspace lattices of self-adjoint operators. That is, two self-adjoint operators A and B have isomorphic invariant subspace lattices if and only if κA = κB. The Legendrian Low conjecture formulated by Natário and Tod says that two events x, y ? X{x, y \in X} are causally related if and only if the Legendrian link of spheres \mathfrakSx, \mathfrakSy{{\mathfrak{S}_x,\,\mathfrak{S}_y}} whose points are light geodesics passing through x and y is non-trivial in the contact manifold of all light geodesics in X. The Low conjecture says that for m = 2 the events x, y are causally related if and only if \mathfrakSx, \mathfrakSy{{\mathfrak{S}_x,\,\mathfrak{S}_y}} is non-trivial as a topological link. We prove the Low and the Legendrian Low conjectures. We also show that similar statements hold for any globally hyperbolic (X m+1, g) such that a cover of its Cauchy surface is diffeomorphic to an open domain in \mathbbRm{\mathbb{R}^{m}} .  相似文献

Let (X,T) be a topological dynamical system and F be a Furstenberg family (a collection of subsets of Z+ with hereditary upward property). A point xX is called an F-transitive one if {nZ+:TnxU}∈F for every non-empty open subset U of X; the system (X,T) is called F-point transitive if there exists some F-transitive point. In this paper, we aim to classify transitive systems by F-point transitivity. Among other things, it is shown that (X,T) is a weakly mixing E-system (resp. weakly mixing M-system, HY-system) if and only if it is {D-sets}-point transitive (resp. {central sets}-point transitive, {weakly thick sets}-point transitive).It is shown that every weakly mixing system is Fip-point transitive, while we construct an Fip-point transitive system which is not weakly mixing. As applications, we show that every transitive system with dense small periodic sets is disjoint from every totally minimal system and a system is Δ?(Fwt)-transitive if and only if it is weakly disjoint from every P-system.  相似文献

Let Δ be a pure simplicial complex on the vertex set [n] = {1,..., n} and I Δ its Stanley-Reisner ideal in the polynomial ring S = K[x 1,..., x n]. We show that Δ is a matroid (complete intersection) if and only if S/I Δ (m) (S/I Δ (m)) is clean for all m ∈ N and this is equivalent to saying that S/I Δ (m) (S/I Δ (m), respectively) is Cohen-Macaulay for all m ∈ N. By this result, we show that there exists a monomial ideal I with (pretty) cleanness property while S/I m or S/I m is not (pretty) clean for all integer m ≥ 3. If dim(Δ) = 1, we also prove that S/I Δ (2) Δ (S/I Δ 2) is clean if and only if S/I Δ (2) (S/I Δ 2, respectively) is Cohen-Macaulay.  相似文献

Abstract

Let F be a free profinite group of countably infinite rank and 𝒞(Δ) the class of all finite groups whose composition factors are in Δ for a non-empty class Δ of finite simple groups. Let R Δ(F) be the intersection of all open normal subgroups N of F such that F/N is in 𝒞(Δ). Then we prove that, if 𝒩 is the class of finite groups which have no non-trivial 𝒞(Δ)-quotient, then R Δ(F) is a pro-𝒩 group of countable rank and every finite 𝒩-embedding problem for R Δ(F) is solvable.  相似文献

It is not uncommon for rings to have Gabriel localizations which do not possess the unique rank (UR) property although the rings themselves do have UR. We show that if F is a Gabriel filter of right ideals on a ring R and RF is the corresponding Gabriel localization, then free RF?modules of ranks m and n are isomorphic if and only if some F-dense submodule of (R/Tf(R))m is isomorphic to some F-dense submodule of (R/TF(R))n, where TF(R) is the F-torsion ideal of R.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. A power series fR[[x]] with (eventually) periodic coefficients is rational. We show that the converse holds if and only if R is an integral extension over Zm for some positive integer m. Let F be a field. We prove the equivalence between two versions of rationality in F[[x1,…,xn]]. We extend Kronecker’s criterion for rationality in F[[x]] to F[[x1,…,xn]]. We introduce the notion of sequential code which is a natural generalization of cyclic and even constacyclic codes over a (not necessarily finite) field. A truncation of a cyclic code over F is both left and right sequential (bisequential). We prove that the converse holds if and only if F is algebraic over Fp for some prime p. Finally, we show that all sequential codes are obtained by a simple and explicit construction.  相似文献

A vertex coloring of a simplicial complex Δ is called a linear coloring if it satisfies the property that for every pair of facets (F1,F2) of Δ, there exists no pair of vertices (v1,v2) with the same color such that v1F1?F2 and v2F2?F1. The linear chromatic numberlchr(Δ) of Δ is defined as the minimum integer k such that Δ has a linear coloring with k colors. We show that if Δ is a simplicial complex with lchr(Δ)=k, then it has a subcomplex Δ with k vertices such that Δ is simple homotopy equivalent to Δ. As a corollary, we obtain that lchr(Δ)?Homdim(Δ)+2. We also show in the case of linearly colored simplicial complexes, the usual assignment of a simplicial complex to a multicomplex has an inverse. Finally, we show that the chromatic number of a simple graph is bounded from above by the linear chromatic number of its neighborhood complex.  相似文献

Let D′m(Δ) be the vector space consisting of all pairs (F1, F2) with Fi∈S′m(Δ), such that Σt(?Ft/?xt=0, i.e., the pair is divergence-free. Both S′m(Δ) and D′m(Δ) can be described in terms of chain complexes using the usual boundary map of homology, and these complexes can be related by an epimorphism. When Δ is 2-disk the epimorphism gives the explicit result that \(\mathbb{R}^2 \) . Bases for D′m(Δ) are derived from bases of S′ m+1 +1 (Δ) via the epimorphism in this case.  相似文献
