We prove that the invariant Hilbert scheme parameterising the equivariant deformations of the affine multicone over a flag variety is, under certain hypotheses, an affine space. More specifically, we obtain that the isomorphism classes of equivariant deformations of such a multicone are in correspondence with the orbits of a well-determined wonderful variety.  相似文献

We describe a method of computing equivariant and ordinary intersection cohomology of certain varieties with actions of algebraic tori, in terms of structure of the zero- and one-dimensional orbits. The class of varieties to which our formula applies includes Schubert varieties in flag varieties and affine flag varieties. We also prove a monotonicity result on local intersection cohomology stalks. Received: 9 November 2000 / Published online: 24 September 2001  相似文献

We consider arithmetic varieties endowed with an action of the group scheme of n-th roots of unity and we define equivariant arithmetic K 0-theory for these varieties. We use the equivariant analytic torsion to define direct image maps in this context and we prove a Riemann-Roch theorem for the natural transformation of equivariant arithmetic K 0-theory induced by the restriction to the fixed point scheme; this theorem can be viewed as an analog, in the context of Arakelov geometry, of the regular case of the theorem proved by P. Baum, W. Fulton and G. Quart in [BaFQ]. We show that it implies an equivariant refinement of the arithmetic Riemann-Roch theorem, in a form conjectured by J.-M. Bismut (cf. [B2, Par. (l), p. 353] and also Ch. Soulé’s question in [SABK, 1.5, p. 162]). Oblatum 22-I-1999 & 20-II-2001?Published online: 4 May 2001  相似文献

We give a generalization of the Atiyah-Bott-Berline-Vergne localization theorem for the equivariant cohomology of a torus action. We replace the manifold having a torus action by an equivariant map of manifolds having a compact connected Lie group action. This provides a systematic method for calculating the Gysin homomorphism in ordinary cohomology of an equivariant map. As an example, we recover a formula of Akyildiz-Carrell for the Gysin homomorphism of flag manifolds.  相似文献

A general formula is proved for the change in the Schur index of a central simple algebra on passing from the ground field F to the function field F(X) of a twisted flag variety X, i.e., a projective variety such that there is an adjoint semisimple algebraic group G acting on X over F such that the action becomes transitive over the separable closure of F. The general formula encompasses special cases previously proved where X is a Brauer-Severi variety, or a generic partial splitting variety of a central simple algebra, or the transfer of such a variety, a quadric, or the involution variety of an algebra with orthogonal involution. For the classical simple groups G of inner type, all the corresponding varieties X are described, and the specific index reduction formula is given for each such X.The second author would like to express his thanks to J.-L. Colliot-Thélène for stimulating discussions on this subject.Supported in part by the NSF.  相似文献

We prove an equivariant Riemann–Roch formula for divisors on algebraic curves over perfect fields. By reduction to the known case of curves over algebraically closed fields, we first show a preliminary formula with coefficients in . We then prove and shed some further light on a divisibility result that yields a formula with integral coefficients. Moreover, we give variants of the main theorem for equivariant locally free sheaves of higher rank.  相似文献

We study two aspects of quantum Schubert calculus: a presentation of the (small) quantum cohomology ring of partial flag manifolds and a quantum Giambelli formula. Our proof gives a relationship between universal Schubert polynomials as defined by Fulton and quantum Schubert polynomials, as defined by Fomin, Gelfand, and Postnikov, and later extended by Ciocan-Fontanine. Intersection theory on hyperquot schemes is an essential element of the proof.  相似文献

We give a purely algebro-geometric proof of the fact that every nonsingular projective curve can be defined over a finite extension of its moduli field. This extends a result byWolfart [7] to curves over fields of arbitrary characteristic. Received: 30 November 2001  相似文献

We prove a new formula for the generating function of polynomials counting absolutely stable representations of quivers over finite fields. The case of irreducible representations is studied in more detail.  相似文献

Let R be a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristics, with algebraically closed residue field k. We study the existence problem of equivariant liftings to R of Galois covers of nodal curves over k. Using formal geometry, we show that this problem is actually a local one. We apply this local-to-global principle to obtain new results concerning the existence of such liftings. Received: 10 February 2000 / Revised version: 13 September 2000  相似文献

The author apples the Atiyah-Bott-Berline-Vergne formula to the equivariant tautological integrals over flag varieties of types A, B, C, D, and recovers the formulas expressing the integrals as iterated residues at infinity, which were first obtained by Zielenkiewicz using symplectic reduction.  相似文献

We establish an equivariant quantum Giambelli formula for partial flag varieties. The answer is given in terms of a specialization of universal double Schubert polynomials. Along the way, we give new proofs of the presentation of the equivariant quantum cohomology ring, as well as Graham-positivity of the structure constants in equivariant quantum Schubert calculus.  相似文献

The subring of the Grothendieck ring of k-varieties generated by smooth conics is described, giving many zero divisors. The proof uses only elementary projective geometry.  相似文献

We find a closed formula for the number hyp(g) of hyperelliptic curves of genus g over a finite field k=Fq of odd characteristic. These numbers hyp(g) are expressed as a polynomial in q with integer coefficients that depend on g and the set of divisors of q−1 and q+1. As a by-product we obtain a closed formula for the number of self-dual curves of genus g. A hyperelliptic curve is defined to be self-dual if it is k-isomorphic to its own hyperelliptic twist.  相似文献

We prove, as an analogy of a conjecture of Artin, that if is a finite flat morphism between two singular reduced absolutely irreducible projective algebraic curves defined over a finite field, then the numerator of the zeta function of X divides that of Y in . Then, we give some interpretations of this result in terms of semi-abelian varieties. Received: 23 July 2001  相似文献

Let G be a split semisimple algebraic group over a field k and let X be the flag variety (i.e., the variety of Borel subgroups) of G twisted by a generic G‐torsor. We start a systematic study of the conjecture, raised in 5 in form of a question, that the canonical epimorphism of the Chow ring of X onto the associated graded ring of the topological filtration on the Grothendieck ring of X is an isomorphism. Since the topological filtration in this case is known to coincide with the computable gamma filtration, this conjecture indicates a way to compute the Chow ring. We reduce its proof to the case of . For simply‐connected or adjoint G , we reduce the proof to the case of simple G . Finally, we provide a list of types of simple groups for which the conjecture holds. Besides of some classical types considered previously (namely, A, C, and the special orthogonal groups of types B and D), the list contains the exceptional types G2, F4, and simply‐connected E6.  相似文献

Let A be an abelian variety over a discretely valued field. Edixhoven has defined a filtration on the special fiber of the Néron model of A that measures the behavior of the Néron model under tame base change. We interpret the jumps in this filtration in terms of lattices of logarithmic differential forms in the case where A is the Jacobian of a curve C, and we give a compact explicit formula for the jumps in terms of the combinatorial reduction data of C.  相似文献

We discuss a relationship between Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes for Schubert cells in flag manifolds, the Fomin–Kirillov algebra, and the generalized nil-Hecke algebra. We show that the nonnegativity conjecture in the Fomin–Kirillov algebra implies the nonnegativity of the Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes for Schubert cells in flag manifolds for type A. Motivated by this connection, we also prove that the (equivariant) Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes for Schubert cells in flag manifolds are certain summations of the structure constants of the equivariant cohomology of Bott–Samelson varieties. We also discuss refined positivity conjectures of the Chern–Schwartz–MacPherson classes for Schubert cells motivated by the nonnegativity conjecture in the Fomin–Kirillov algebra.  相似文献
