We investigate domains on which a nonmanipulable, nondictatorial social choice function exists, having at least three distinct values. We do not make the assumptions of Kalai and Muller (1977). We classify all such 2-person functions on the domain which is the cyclic group Zm. We show that for any domain containing Zm, existence for 2 voters and existence for some n > 2 voters are equivalent. We show that for an n-person, onto, nonmanipulable social choice function F on Zm, F(P1, P2,…, Pn) {x1, x2,…, xn} always, xi being the most preferred alternative under preference Pi. We show that no domain containing the dihedral group admits such a social choice function. We show that there exists a domain on which all k-tuples are free for arbitrarily large k, for which such a social choice function does exist.  相似文献

F*-Rings Are O*

O *-rings were introduced by Fuchs and recently characterized by Steinberg. A ring R is called O * if every partial order on R extends to a total order. We weaken the condition on the ordering of the ring by requiring that every partial order on R extends to an f-order. We call those rings F *-rings. We show that LUB of the set of G-expansive constants for a G-expansive homeomorphism h on a compact metric G-space, G compact, is not a G-expansive constant for h. We obtain a result regarding projecting and lifting of G-expansive homeomorphisms having interesting applications. We also prove that the G-expansiveness is a dynamical property for homeomorphisms on compact metric G-spaces and study G-periodic points.  相似文献

We construct the polynomial quantization on the space G/H where G=SL(n,R),H=GL(n–1,R). It is a variant of quantization in the spirit of Berezin. In our case covariant and contravariant symbols are polynomials on G/H. We introduce a multiplication of covariant symbols, establish the correspondence principle, study transformations of symbols (the Berezin transform) and of operators. We write a full asymptotic decomposition of the Berezin transform.  相似文献

Let V denote a vector space with finite positive dimension over an algebraically closed field 𝔽. Let K, K* be a q-inverting pair on V, an ordered pair of invertible linear transformations on V satisfying certain conditions. In this article we study the q-inverting pairs with shape 1, 2, 1. We define a pair of scalars called the parameter pair for K, K*. We give six bases for V and give the action of K, K ?1, K* and (K*)?1 on each of these bases, respectively. We classify the q-inverting pairs of shape 1, 2, 1 in terms of the parameter pairs. We conclude with some trace formulae involving the parameter pair.  相似文献

We prove that if G and H are graphs containing at least one edge each, then their lexicographic product G[H] is weakly pancyclic, i. e., it contains a cycle of every length between the length of a shortest cycle and that of a longest one. This supports some conjectures on locally connected graphs and on product graphs. We obtain an analogous result on even cycles in products G[H] that are bipartite. We introduce the notion of a quasicoherent sheaf on a complex noncommutative two-torus T as an ind-object in the category of holomorphic vector bundles on T. Extending the results of [10] and [9] we prove that the derived category of quasicoherent sheaves on T is equivalent to the derived category of usual quasicoherent sheaves on the corresponding elliptic curve. We define the rank of a quasicoherent sheaf on T that can take arbitrary nonnegative real values. We study the category Qcoh(η T ) obtained by taking the quotient of the category of quasicoherent sheaves by the subcategory of objects of rank zero (called torsion sheaves). We show that projective objects of finite rank in Qcoh(η T ) are classified up to an isomorphism by their rank. We also prove that the subcategory of objects of finite rank in Qcoh(η T ) is equivalent to the category of finitely presented modules over a semihereditary algebra.  相似文献

A vector field E on an F-manifold (M,°,e) is an eventual identity if it is invertible and the multiplication X?Y:=X°Y°E−1 defines a new F-manifold structure on M. We give a characterization of such eventual identities, this being a problem raised by Manin (2005) [12]. We develop a duality between F-manifolds with eventual identities and we show that this duality is compatible with the local irreducible decomposition of F-manifolds and preserves the class of Riemannian F-manifolds. We find necessary and sufficient conditions on the eventual identity which ensure that the classes of harmonic Higgs bundles, DChk-structures and weak CV-structures are preserved by our duality. Examples of such structures are given in the case of a semi-simple multiplication. We use eventual identities to construct compatible pairs of metrics.  相似文献

We investigate the n-variable real functions G that are solutions of the Chisini functional equation F(x) = F(G(x), . . . , G(x)), where F is a given function of n real variables. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on F for the existence and uniqueness of solutions. When F is nondecreasing in each variable, we show in a constructive way that if a solution exists then a nondecreasing and idempotent solution always exists. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions on F for the existence of continuous solutions and we show how to construct such a solution. We present a criterion for an operator on L p to belong to the set I p of all sums of integral operators on L p and multiplication operators by functions in L . We describe the closure of I p in the operator norm. We describe the structure of irreducible matrix groups with submultiplicative spectrum. Since all such groups are nilpotent, the study is focused on p-groups. We obtain a block-monomial structure of matrices in irreducible p-groups and build polycyclic series arising from that structure. We give an upper bound to the exponent of these groups. We determine all minimal irreducible groups of p× p matrices with submultiplicative spectrum and discuss the case of p 2× p 2 matrices if p is an odd prime.  相似文献

We find the precise number of non-K?hler SO(2n)-invariant Einstein metrics on the generalized flag manifold M = SO(2n)/U(pU(np) with n ≥ 4 and 2 ≤ p ≤ n−2. We use an analysis on parametric systems of polynomial equations and we give some insight towards the study of such systems. We consider a material with thermal memory occupying a bounded region Ω with boundary Γ. The evolution of the temperature u(t,x) is described by an integrodifferential parabolic equation containing a heat source of the form f(t)z0(x). We formulate an initial and boundary value control problem based on a feedback device located on Γ and prescribed by means of a quite general memory operator. Assuming both u and the source factor f are unknown, we study the corresponding inverse and control problem on account of an additional information. We prove that a very general form of the Calderón reproducing formula converges in L p (w), for all 1<p<∞, whenever w belongs to the Muckenhoupt class A p . We show that the formula converges whether we interpret its defining integral, in very natural senses, as a limit of L p (w)-valued Riemann or Lebesgue integrals. We propose an algorithm to estimate the common density s of a stationary process X 1, ..., X n . We suppose that the process is either β or τ-mixing. We provide a model selection procedure based on a generalization of Mallows’ C p and we prove oracle inequalities for the selected estimator under a few prior assumptions on the collection of models and on the mixing coefficients. We prove that our estimator is adaptive over a class of Besov spaces, namely, we prove that it achieves the same rates of convergence as in the i.i.d. framework.   相似文献

Finite groups acting on rings by automorphisms, and group-graded rings are instances of Hopf algebras H acting on H-module algebras A. We study such actions. Let AH = {a ε A¦h · A = (h) a, all h ε H}, the ring of H-invariants, and form the smash product A # H. We study the ring extensions AH A A # H. We prove a Maschke-type theorem for A # H-modules.
