本文主要讨论了度量空间的序列覆盖边界紧映象.用序列商、序列覆盖或1-序列覆盖的纤维边界紧或有限来刻画具有sn网或弱基的空间.主要结果如下:(1)度量空间上的序列覆盖边界紧映射是1-序列覆盖映射;(2)空间X是度量空间的序列商边界紧映象当且仅当X是snf-第一可数空间;(3)空间X是度量空间的序列覆盖边界紧S映象当且仅当X有点可数sn-网.  相似文献

We prove that the existence of positively expansive measures for continuous maps on compact metric spaces implies the existence of e 0 and a sequence of(m, e)-separated sets whose cardinalities go to infinite as m →∞. This paper studies relationships between coupled-expanding maps and one-sided symbolic dynamical systems. The concept of coupled-expanding map is extended to a more general one: coupled-expansion for a transitive matrix. It is found that the subshift for a transitive matrix is strictly coupled-expanding for the matrix in certain disjoint compact subsets; the topological conjugacy of a continuous map in its compact invariant set of a metric space to a subshift for a transitive matrix has a close relationship with that the map is strictly coupled-expanding for the matrix in some disjoint compact subsets. A certain relationship between strictly coupled-expanding maps for a transitive matrix in disjoint bounded and closed subsets of a complete metric space and their topological conjugacy to the subshift for the matrix is also obtained. Dynamical behaviors of subshifts for irreducible matrices are then studied and several equivalent statements to chaos are obtained; especially, chaos in the sense of Li–Yorke is equivalent to chaos in the sense of Devaney for the subshift, and is also equivalent to that the domain of the subshift is infinite. Based on these results, several new criteria of chaos for maps are finally established via strict coupled-expansions for irreducible transitive matrices in compact subsets of metric spaces and in bounded and closed subsets of complete metric spaces, respectively, where their conditions are weaker than those existing in the literature.  相似文献

Two classes of metrics are introduced for spaces of fuzzy sets. Their equivalence is discussed and basic properties established. We consider finite-sheeted covering maps from 2-dimensional compact connected abelian groups to Klein bottle weak solenoidal spaces, metric continua which are not groups. We show that whenever a group covers a Klein bottle weak solenoidal space it covers groups as well, moreover it covers the product of two solenoids. The converse is not true, we give an example of group which covers groups with any finite number of sheets, but does not cover any Klein bottle weak solenoidal space.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with sensitive dependence on initial conditions for maps and semi-flows. Several sufficient conditions for sensitive dependence are given, where it is not required that maps and semi-flows are continuous and spaces are compact. In particular, it is shown that if a measure-preserving map (resp. a measure-preserving semi-flow) on a metric probability space with a fully supported measure is topologically strongly ergodic, then it has sensitive dependence. These results relax and extend the conditions of some existing results.  相似文献

We take a list of properties of continuous maps on compact metric spaces, e.g. the existence of an arc horseshoe, the positivity of topological entropy, the existence of a homoclinic trajectory, the existence of an omega-limit set containing two minimal sets and others. Our aim is to find the relations between the properties in the case of dendrite maps. To achieve the aim at least partially, we consider several examples of dendrite maps and check which of the properties particular examples have. This paper is concerned with chaos induced by regular snap-back repellers. One new criterion of chaos induced by strictly coupled-expanding maps in compact sets of metric spaces is established. By employing this criterion, the nondegenerateness assumption in the Marotto theorem established in 1978 is weakened. In addition, it is proved that a regular snap-back repeller and a regular homoclinic orbit to a regular expanding fixed point in finite-dimensional spaces imply chaos in the sense of Li-Yorke. The set C(X,Y) of continuous functions from a topological space X into a topological space Y is extended to the set D(X,Y) of densely continuous forms from X to Y, such form being a kind of multifunction from X to Y. The topologies of pointwise convergence, uniform convergence, and uniform convergence on compact sets are defined for D(X,Y), for locally compact spaces X and metric spaces Y having a metric satisfying the Heine–Borel property. Under these assumptions, D(X,Y) with the uniform topology is shown to be completely metrizable. In addition, if X is compact, D(X,Y) is completely metrizable under the topology of uniform convergence on compact sets. For this latter topology, an Ascoli theorem is established giving necessary and sufficient conditions for a subset of D(X,Y) to be compact.  相似文献

This paper studies properties of refinable maps and contains applications to dimension theory. It is proved that refinable maps between compact Hausdorff spaces preserve covering dimension exactly and do not raise small cohomological dimension with any coefficient group. The notion of a c-refinable map is introduced and is shown to play a comparable role in the setting of normal spaces. For example, c-refinable maps between normal spaces are shown to preserve covering dimension and S-weak infinite-dimensionality. These facts do not hold for refinable maps.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of the set-valued dynamical systems of asymptotic contractions of Meir–Keeler type and set-valued dynamical systems of strict contractions in uniform spaces and we present a method which is useful for establishing conditions guaranteeing the existence and uniqueness of endpoints of these contractions and the convergence to these endpoints of all generalized sequences of iterations of these contractions. The result, concerning the investigations of problems of the set-valued asymptotic fixed point theory, include some well-known results of Meir and Keeler, Kirk and Suzuki concerning the asymptotic fixed point theory of single-valued maps in metric spaces. The result, concerning set-valued strict contractions (in which the contractive coefficient is not constant), is different from the result of Yuan concerning the existence of endpoints of Tarafdar–Vyborny generalized contractions (in which the contractive coefficient is constant) in bounded metric spaces and provides some examples of Tarafdar–Yuan topological contractions in compact uniform spaces. Definitions and results presented here are new for set-valued dynamical systems in uniform, locally convex and metric spaces and even for single-valued maps. Examples show a fundamental difference between our results and the well-known ones.  相似文献

It is shown that the invariant set of an ϵ-contractive map f on a compact metric space X is the same as the set of periodic points of f. Furthermore, the set of periodic points of f is finite and, only assuming that X is locally compact, there is at most one periodic point in each component X. The theorems are applied to prove a known fixed-point theorem, a result concerning inverse limits, a result about periodic points of compositions, and a result showing that ϵ-contractive maps on continua are really contraction maps with a change in metric. It is shown that all our results hold for locally contractive maps on compact metric spaces.  相似文献
