This paper is devoted to strict K-monotonicity and K-order continuity in symmetric spaces. Using a local approach to the geometric structure in a symmetric space E we investigate a connection between strict K-monotonicity and global convergence in measure of a sequence of the maximal functions. Next, we solve an essential problem whether an existence of a point of K-order continuity in a symmetric space E on \([0,\infty )\) implies that the embedding \(E\hookrightarrow {L^1}[0,\infty )\) does not hold. We present a complete characterization of an equivalent condition to K-order continuity in a symmetric space E using a notion of order continuity and the fundamental function of E. We also investigate a relationship between strict K-monotonicity and K-order continuity in symmetric spaces and show some examples of Lorentz spaces and Marcinkiewicz spaces having these properties or not. Finally, we discuss a local version of a crucial correspondence between order continuity and the Kadec–Klee property for global convergence in measure in a symmetric space E.  相似文献

The real rectangular tensors arise from the strong ellipticity condition problem in solid mechanics and the entanglement problem in quantum physics. In this paper, we first study properties of l k,s -singular values of real rectangular tensors. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for the positive definiteness of partially symmetric rectangular tensors is given. Furthermore, we show that the weak Perron-Frobenius theorem for nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensor keeps valid under some new conditions and we prove a maximum property for the largest l k,s -singular values of nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensor. Finally, we prove that the largest l k,s -singular value of nonnegative weakly irreducible partially symmetric rectangular tensor is still geometrically simple.  相似文献

We characterize A-linear symmetric and contraction module operator semigroup{Tt}t∈R+L(l2(A)),where A is a finite-dimensional C-algebra,and L(l2(A))is the C-algebra of all adjointable module maps on l2(A).Next,we introduce the concept of operator-valued quadratic forms,and give a one to one correspondence between the set of non-positive definite self-adjoint regular module operators on l2(A)and the set of non-negative densely defined A-valued quadratic forms.In the end,we obtain that a real and strongly continuous symmetric semigroup{Tt}t∈R+L(l2(A))being Markovian if and only if the associated closed densely defined A-valued quadratic form is a Dirichlet form.  相似文献

A hypersurface in a Riemannian manifold is r-minimal if its (r+1)-curvature, the (r+1)th elementary symmetric function of its principal curvatures, vanishes identically. If n>2(r+1) we show that the rotationally invariant r-minimal hypersurfaces in ? n+1 are nondegenerate in the sense that they carry no nontrivial Jacobi fields decaying rapidly enough at infinity. Combining this with a computation of the (r+1)-curvature of normal graphs and the deformation theory in weighted Hölder spaces developed by Mazzeo, Pacard, Pollack, Uhlenbeck and others, we produce new infinite dimensional families of r-minimal hypersurfaces in ? n+1 obtained by perturbing noncompact portions of the catenoids. We also consider the moduli space \({\mathcal{M}}_{r,k}(g)\) of elliptic r-minimal hypersurfaces with k≥2 ends of planar type in ? n+1 endowed with an ALE metric g, and show that \({\mathcal{M}}_{r,k}(g)\) is an analytic manifold of formal dimension k(n+1), with \({\mathcal{M}}_{r,k}(g)\) being smooth for a generic g in a neighborhood of the standard Euclidean metric.  相似文献

We study the following questionWhat is the smallest t such that every symmetric boolean function on κ variables (which is not a constant or a parity function), has a non-zero Fourier coefficient of order at least 1 and at most t?We exclude the constant functions for which there is no such t and the parity functions for which t has to be κ. Let τ (κ) be the smallest such t. Our main result is that for large κ, τ (κ)≤4κ/logκ.The motivation for our work is to understand the complexity of learning symmetric juntas. A κ-junta is a boolean function of n variables that depends only on an unknown subset of κ variables. A symmetric κ-junta is a junta that is symmetric in the variables it depends on. Our result implies an algorithm to learn the class of symmetric κ-juntas, in the uniform PAC learning model, in time n o(κ) . This improves on a result of Mossel, O’Donnell and Servedio in [16], who show that symmetric κ-juntas can be learned in time n 2κ/3.  相似文献

We propose a method to assess the intrinsic risk carried by a financial position X when the agent faces uncertainty about the pricing rule assigning its present value. Our approach is inspired by a new interpretation of the quasiconvex duality in a Knightian setting, where a family of probability measures replaces the single reference probability and is then applied to value financial positions. Diametrically, our construction of Value and Risk measures is based on the selection of a basket of claims to test the reliability of models. We compare a random payoff X with a given class of derivatives written on X, and use these derivatives to “test” the pricing measures. We further introduce and study a general class of Value and Risk measures \( R(p,X,\mathbb {P})\) that describes the additional capital that is required to make X acceptable under a probability \(\mathbb {P}\) and given the initial price p paid to acquire X.  相似文献

A graph is said to be symmetric if its automorphism group acts transitively on its arcs. In this paper, all connected valency seven symmetric graphs of order 2pq are classified, where p, q are distinct primes. It follows from the classification that there is a unique connected valency seven symmetric graph of order 4p, and that for odd primes p and q, there is an infinite family of connected valency seven one-regular graphs of order 2pq with solvable automorphism groups, and there are four sporadic ones with nonsolvable automorphism groups, which is 1, 2, 3-arc transitive, respectively. In particular, one of the four sporadic ones is primitive, and the other two of the four sporadic ones are bi-primitive.  相似文献

The investigation of the pairs of irreducible characters of the symmetric group S n that have the same set of roots in one of the sets A n and S n ? A n is continued. All such pairs of irreducible characters of the group S n are found in the case when the least of the main diagonal’s lengths of the Young diagrams corresponding to these characters does not exceed 2. Stimulated by odd-bipartite and even-bipartite hypergraphs, we define odd-bipartite (weakly odd-bipartie) and even-bipartite (weakly evenbipartite) tensors. It is verified that all even order odd-bipartite tensors are irreducible tensors, while all even-bipartite tensors are reducible no matter the parity of the order. Based on properties of odd-bipartite tensors, we study the relationship between the largest H-eigenvalue of a Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal elements, and the largest H-eigenvalue of absolute tensor of that Ztensor. When the order is even and the Z-tensor is weakly irreducible, we prove that the largest H-eigenvalue of the Z-tensor and the largest H-eigenvalue of the absolute tensor of that Z-tensor are equal, if and only if the Z-tensor is weakly odd-bipartite. Examples show the authenticity of the conclusions. Then, we prove that a symmetric Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal entries and the absolute tensor of the Z-tensor are diagonal similar, if and only if the Z-tensor has even order and it is weakly odd-bipartite. After that, it is proved that, when an even order symmetric Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal entries is weakly irreducible, the equality of the spectrum of the Z-tensor and the spectrum of absolute tensor of that Z-tensor, can be characterized by the equality of their spectral radii.  相似文献

The paper considers a class of g-natural metrics G on the tangent bundle TM of a Riemannian manifold (M, g). We prove that the flatness of g is necessary and sufficient for a metric G to be weakly symmetric (recurrent or pseudo-symmetric). Also, it is shown that the weak symmetry and recurrent or pseudo-symmetry properties of Sasakian lift metric, studied by Bejan and Crasmareanu, and Binh and Tamássy, respectively, are special cases of our result.  相似文献

A 2-coloring of the n-cube in the n-dimensional Euclidean space can be considered as an assignment of weights of 1 or 0 to the vertices. Such a colored n-cube is said to be balanced if its center of mass coincides with its geometric center. Let B n,2k be the number of balanced 2-colorings of the n-cube with 2k vertices having weight 1. Palmer, Read, and Robinson conjectured that for n≥1, the sequence \(\{B_{n,2k}\}_{k=0,1,\ldots,2^{n-1}}\) is symmetric and unimodal. We give a proof of this conjecture. We also propose a conjecture on the log-concavity of B n,2k for fixed k, and by probabilistic method we show that it holds when n is sufficiently large.  相似文献

The present paper is devoted to the study of n-tuple semigroups. A free n-tuple semigroup of arbitrary rank is constructed and, as a consequence, singly generated free n-tuple semigroups are characterized. Moreover, examples of n-tuple semigroups are presented, the independence of the n-tuple semigroup axioms is proved, and it is shown that the natural semigroups of the constructed free n-tuple semigroup are isomorphic and the automorphism group of this n-tuple semigroup is isomorphic to a symmetric group.  相似文献

Let \({\mathcal{M}}\) be a semifinite von Neumann algebra with a faithful, normal, semifinite trace \({\tau}\) and E be a strongly symmetric Banach function space on \({[0,\tau({\bf 1}))}\) . We show that an operator x in the unit sphere of \({E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)}\) is k-extreme, \({k \in {\mathbb{N}}}\) , whenever its singular value function \({\mu(x)}\) is k-extreme and one of the following conditions hold (i) \({\mu(\infty, x) = \lim_{t\to\infty}\mu(t, x) = 0}\) or (ii) \({n(x)\mathcal{M}n(x^*) = 0}\) and \({|x| \geq \mu(\infty, x)s(x)}\) , where n(x) and s(x) are null and support projections of x, respectively. The converse is true whenever \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic. The global k-rotundity property follows, that is if \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic then E is k-rotund if and only if \(E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)\) is k-rotund. As a consequence of the noncommutative results we obtain that f is a k-extreme point of the unit ball of the strongly symmetric function space E if and only if its decreasing rearrangement \({\mu(f)}\) is k-extreme and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty,f)}\) . We conclude with the corollary on orbits Ω(g) and Ω′(g). We get that f is a k-extreme point of the orbit \({\Omega(g),\,g \in L_1 + L_{\infty}}\) , or \({\Omega'(g),\,g \in L_1[0, \alpha),\,\alpha < \infty}\) , if and only if \({\mu(f) = \mu(g)}\) and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty, f)}\) . From this we obtain a characterization of k-extreme points in Marcinkiewicz spaces.  相似文献

Let D[X] be the polynomial ring over D, c(f) be the ideal of D generated by the coefficients of fD[X], and N v = {fD[X] | c(f) v = D}. In this paper, we study integral domains D in which w-P(D) ? t-V (D), t-V (D) ? w-P(D), or t-V (D) = w-P(D). We also study the relationship between t-V (D) and \(V\left( {D{{\left[ X \right]}_{{N_v}}}} \right)\), and characterize when t-V (A + XB[X]) ? w-P(A + XB[X]) holds for a proper extension A ?
