In this paper, a boundary perturbation interior point homotopy method is proposed to give a constructive proof of the general Brouwer fixed point theorem and thus solve fixed point problems in a class of nonconvex sets. Compared with the previous results, by using the newly proposed method, initial points can be chosen in the whole space of Rn, which may improve greatly the computational efficiency of reduced predictor-corrector algorithms resulted from that method. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the results of this paper.  相似文献

In this paper we will give necessary and sufficient conditions under which a map is a contraction on a certain subset of a normed linear space. These conditions are already well known for maps on intervals in R. Using the conditions and Banach’s fixed point theorem we can prove a fixed point theorem for operators on a normed linear space. The fixed point theorem will be applied to the matrix equation X = In + Af(X)A, where f is a map on the set of positive definite matrices induced by a real valued map on (0, ∞). This will give conditions on A and f under which the equation has a unique solution in a certain set. We will consider two examples of f in detail. In one example the application of the fixed point theorem is the first step in proving that the equation has a unique positive definite solution under the conditions on A.  相似文献

Daneš' drop theorem is extended to bornological vector spaces. An immediate application is to establish Ekeland-type variational principle and its equivalence, Caristi fixed point theorem, in bornological vector spaces. Meanwhile, since every locally convex space becomes a convex bornological vector space when equipped with the canonical von Neumann bornology, Qiu's generalization of Daneš' work to locally convex spaces is recovered.  相似文献

By using sequentially lower complete spaces (see [Zhu, J., Wei, L., Zhu, C. C.: Caristi type coincidence point theorem in topological spaces. J. Applied Math., 2013, ID 902692 (2013)]), we give a new version of vectorial Ekeland’s variational principle. In the new version, the objective function is defined on a sequentially lower complete space and taking values in a quasi-ordered locally convex space, and the perturbation consists of a weakly countably compact set and a non-negative function p which only needs to satisfy p(x, y) = 0 iff x = y. Here, the function p need not satisfy the subadditivity. From the new Ekeland’s principle, we deduce a vectorial Caristi’s fixed point theorem and a vectorial Takahashi’s non-convex minimization theorem. Moreover, we show that the above three theorems are equivalent to each other. By considering some particular cases, we obtain a number of corollaries, which include some interesting versions of fixed point theorem.  相似文献

In this paper approximate and complete controllability for semilinear functional differential systems is studied in Hilbert spaces. Sufficient conditions are established for each of these types of controllability. The results address the limitation that linear systems in infinite-dimensional spaces with compact semigroup cannot be completely controllable. The conditions are obtained by using the Schauder fixed point theorem when the semigroup is compact and the Banach fixed point theorem when the semigroup is not compact.  相似文献

Recently Kirk introduced the notion of asymptotic contractions on a metric space and using ultrapower techniques he obtained an asymptotic version of the Boyd-Wong fixed point theorem. In this paper we extend this result and moreover, we give a constructive proof of it. Furthermore, we obtain a complete characterization of asymptotic contractions on a compact metric space. As a by-product we establish a separation theorem for upper semicontinuous functions satisfying some limit condition.  相似文献

We study the existence problem of a zero point of a function defined on a finite set of elements of the integer lattice Zn of the n-dimensional Euclidean space Rn. It is assumed that the set is integrally convex, which implies that the convex hull of the set can be subdivided in simplices such that every vertex is an element of Zn and each simplex of the triangulation lies in an n-dimensional cube of size one. With respect to this triangulation we assume that the function satisfies some property that replaces continuity. Under this property and some boundary condition the function has a zero point. To prove this we use a simplicial algorithm that terminates with a zero point within a finite number of iterations. The standard technique of applying a fixed point theorem to a piecewise linear approximation cannot be applied, because the ‘continuity property’ is too weak to assure that a zero point of the piecewise linear approximation induces a zero point of the function itself. We apply the main existence result to prove the existence of a pure Cournot-Nash equilibrium in a Cournot oligopoly model. We further obtain a discrete analogue of the well-known Borsuk-Ulam theorem and a theorem for the existence of a solution for the discrete nonlinear complementarity problem.  相似文献

In this paper, a better admissible class B+ is introduced and a new fixed point theorem for better admissible multimap is proved on abstract convex spaces. As a consequence, we deduce a new fixed point theorem on abstract convex Φ-spaces. Our main results generalize some recent work due to Lassonde, Kakutani, Browder, and Park.  相似文献

In this work we prove a C1-linearization result for contraction diffeomorphisms, near a fixed point, valid in infinite-dimensional Banach spaces. As an intermediate step, we prove a specific result of existence of invariant manifolds, which can be interesting by itself and that was needed on the proof of our main theorem. Our results essentially generalize some classical results by P. Hartman in finite dimensions, and a result of Mora-Sola-Morales in the infinite-dimensional case. It is shown that the result can be applied to some abstract systems of semilinear damped wave equations.  相似文献

The following results are proved: (1) X be either a locally convex Lusin space1 or a locally convex metrizable (not necessarily separable) space, let Γ be a weakly upper semicontinuous random multimapping defined on a convex compact subspace of X taking convex weakly compact values and satisfying the Browder-Halpern's “inward” condition. Then Γ has a fixed point. We study a differential equation for delayed negative feedback which models a situation where the delay depends on the present state and becomes effective in the future. The main result is existence of a periodic solution in case the equilibrium is linearly unstable. The proof employs the ejective fixed point principle on a compact convex set K0C([−h,0],R) of Lipschitz continuous functions and uses that the equation generates a smooth semiflow on an infinite-dimensional submanifold of the space C1([−h,0],R).  相似文献

Strengthened fixed point property for ordered sets is formulated. It is weaker than the strong fixed point property due to Duffus and Sauer and stronger than the product property meaning that A × Y has the fixed point property whenever A has the former and Y has the latter. In particular, doubly chain complete ordered sets with no infinite antichain have the strengthened fixed point property whenever they have the fixed point property, which yields a transparent proof of the well-known theorem saying that doubly chain complete ordered sets with no infinite antichain have the product property whenever they have the fixed point property. Recently, Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A generalized Banach contraction principle that characterizes metric completeness, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 136 (2008), 1861-1869] proved a fixed point theorem that is a generalization of the Banach contraction principle and characterizes the metric completeness. Paesano and Vetro [D. Paesano and P. Vetro, Suzuki's type characterizations of completeness for partial metric spaces and fixed points for partially ordered metric spaces, Topology Appl., 159 (2012), 911-920] proved an analogous fixed point result for a self-mapping on a partial metric space that characterizes the partial metric 0-completeness. In this article, we introduce the notion of partial G-metric spaces and prove a result of Suzuki type in the setting of partial G-metric spaces.
