In a previous article we proposed an algebraic setting in which to perform harmonic analysis on noncompact, nondiscrete quantum groups and in particular, on quantum E(2). In the present paper we shall explicitly construct Fourier transforms between quantum E(2) and its Pontryagin dual, involving Hahn—Exton q-Bessel functions as kernel, prove Plancherel and inversion formulas, etc. We also develop a theory of q-Hankel transformation of entire functions, based on the definition proposed by Koornwinder and Swarttouw.  相似文献

A -version of the sampling theorem is derived using the -Hankel transform introduced by Koornwinder and Swarttouw. The sampling points are the zeros of the third Jackson -Bessel function.

After the analysis of the q-even translation and the q-cosine Fourier transform by A. Fitouhi and F. Bouzeffour in [q-cosine Fourier transform and q-heat equation, Ramanujan J., in press], it is natural to look for the q-analogue of some well-known classical theorems. In this paper, we purpose to give a q-version of the Paley-Wiener theorem related to this Fourier transform using standard methods of the q-calculus.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to establish in great detail The q-Fourier analysis related to the q-cosine. The wise reader will note that the considered q-cosine coincides with the one given by T.H.?Koornwinder and S.F.?Swarttouw. Through the q-cosine product formula, we define and analyze the properties of the q-even translation and the q-convolution. Adopting the Titchmarsh approach, we study the q-cosine Fourier transform and its inverse formula. The second theme of this paper is an application of the q-Fourier analysis developed earlier. We extend the heat representation theory inaugurated by P.C.?Rosenbloom and D.V.?Widder to the q-analogue. We construct the q-solution source, the q-heat polynomials and solve the q-analytic Cauchy problem.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce and study a class of tableaux which we call permutation tableaux; these tableaux are naturally in bijection with permutations, and they are a distinguished subset of the -diagrams of Alex Postnikov [A. Postnikov, Webs in totally positive Grassmann cells, in preparation; L. Williams, Enumeration of totally positive Grassmann cells, Adv. Math. 190 (2005) 319-342]. The structure of these tableaux is in some ways more transparent than the structure of permutations; therefore we believe that permutation tableaux will be useful in furthering the understanding of permutations. We give two bijections from permutation tableaux to permutations. The first bijection carries tableaux statistics to permutation statistics based on relative sizes of pairs of letters in a permutation and their places. We call these statistics weak excedance statistics because of their close relation to weak excedances. The second bijection carries tableaux statistics (via the weak excedance statistics) to statistics based on generalized permutation patterns. We then give enumerative applications of these bijections. One nice consequence of these results is that the polynomial enumerating permutation tableaux according to their content generalizes both Carlitz' q-analog of the Eulerian numbers [L. Carlitz, q-Bernoulli and Eulerian numbers, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 76 (1954) 332-350] and the more recent q-analog of the Eulerian numbers found in [L. Williams, Enumeration of totally positive Grassmann cells, Adv. Math. 190 (2005) 319-342]. We conclude our paper with a list of open problems, as well as remarks on progress on these problems which has been made by A. Burstein, S. Corteel, N. Eriksen, A. Reifegerste, and X. Viennot.  相似文献

We prove oscillation and nonoscillation theorems for the second order linear differential equation (E) y″+q(t)y=0, where q(t)?0 and locally integrable on These results are extensions of earlier results of Huang [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 210 (1997) 712-723]. Furthermore, we show that the oscillation criterion established for Eq. (E) can be extended to the delayed differential equation y″+q(t)y(σ(t))=0, where σ(t)?t and limt→∞σ(t)=∞.  相似文献

In this paper, we first give several operator identities involving the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials. By applying the technique of parameter augmentation to the multiple q-binomial theorems given by Milne [S.C. Milne, Balanced summation theorems for U(n) basic hypergeometric series, Adv. Math. 131 (1997) 93-187], we obtain several new multiple q-series identities involving the bivariate Rogers-Szegö polynomials. These include multiple extensions of Mehler's formula and Rogers's formula. Our U(n+1) generalizations are quite natural as they are also a direct and immediate consequence of their (often classical) known one-variable cases and Milne's fundamental theorem for An or U(n+1) basic hypergeometric series in Theorem 1.49 of [S.C. Milne, An elementary proof of the Macdonald identities for , Adv. Math. 57 (1985) 34-70], as rewritten in Lemma 7.3 on p. 163 of [S.C. Milne, Balanced summation theorems for U(n) basic hypergeometric series, Adv. Math. 131 (1997) 93-187] or Corollary 4.4 on pp. 768-769 of [S.C. Milne, M. Schlosser, A new An extension of Ramanujan's summation with applications to multilateral An series, Rocky Mountain J. Math. 32 (2002) 759-792].  相似文献

We study the oscillation problems for the second order half-linear differential equation [p(t)Φ(x)]+q(t)Φ(x)=0, where Φ(u)=|u|r−1u with r>0, 1/p and q are locally integrable on R+; p>0, q?0 a.e. on R+, and . We establish new criteria for this equation to be nonoscillatory and oscillatory, respectively. When p≡1, our results are complete extensions of work by Huang [C. Huang, Oscillation and nonoscillation for second order linear differential equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 210 (1997) 712-723] and by Wong [J.S.W. Wong, Remarks on a paper of C. Huang, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 291 (2004) 180-188] on linear equations to the half-linear case for all r>0. These results provide corrections to the wrongly established results in [J. Jiang, Oscillation and nonoscillation for second order quasilinear differential equations, Math. Sci. Res. Hot-Line 4 (6) (2000) 39-47] on nonoscillation when 0<r<1 and on oscillation when r>1. The approach in this paper can also be used to fully extend Elbert's criteria on linear equations to half-linear equations which will cover and improve a partial extension by Yang [X. Yang, Oscillation/nonoscillation criteria for quasilinear differential equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 298 (2004) 363-373].  相似文献

Viscosity approximation methods for a family of finite nonexpansive mappings are established in Banach spaces. The main theorems extend the main results of Moudafi [Viscosity approximation methods for fixed-points problems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 241 (2000) 46–55] and Xu [Viscosity approximation methods for nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 298 (2004) 279–291] to the case of finite mappings. Our results also improve and unify the corresponding results of Bauschke [The approximation of fixed points of compositions of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 202 (1996) 150–159], Browder [Convergence of approximations to fixed points of nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces, Archiv. Ration. Mech. Anal. 24 (1967) 82–90], Cho et al. We study Riesz and Bessel potentials in the settings of Hankel transform, modified Hankel transform and Hankel-Dunkl transform. We prove sharp or qualitatively sharp pointwise estimates of the corresponding potential kernels. Then we characterize those 1 ≤ p, q≤∞, for which the potential operators satisfy L p -L q estimates. In case of the Riesz potentials, we also characterize those 1 ≤ p, q ≤ ∞, for which two-weight L p -L q estimates, with power weights involved, hold. As a special case of our results, we obtain a full characterization of two power-weight L p -L q bounds for the classical Riesz potentials in the radial case. This complements an old result of Rubin and its recent reinvestigations by De Nápoli, Drelichman and Durán, and Duoandikoetxea.  相似文献

In this paper we use real analysis techniques to establish a new real Paley-Wiener theorems for the Fourier-Bessel transform associated with the Weinstein operator. More precisely we characterize the C -functions whose image under the Fourier-Bessel transform are functions with compact support through an L p growth condition, p ∈ [1, +∞] and we give another version of the real Paley-Wiener theorem for L 2-functions.  相似文献

We give new characterizations of the subsets S of the unit disc of the complex plane such that the topology of the space A−∞ of holomorphic functions of polynomial growth on coincides with the topology of space of the restrictions of the functions to the set S. These sets are called weakly sufficient sets for A−∞. Our approach is based on a study of the so-called (p,q)-sampling sets which generalize the Ap-sampling sets of Seip. A characterization of (p,q)-sampling and weakly sufficient rotation invariant sets is included. It permits us to obtain new examples and to solve an open question of Khôi and Thomas.  相似文献

In the paper [J. Ritt, Prime and composite polynomials, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 23 (1922) 51-66] Ritt constructed the theory of functional decompositions of polynomials with complex coefficients. In particular, he described explicitly polynomial solutions of the functional equation f(p(z))=g(q(z)). In this paper we study the equation above in the case where f,g,p,q are holomorphic functions on compact Riemann surfaces. We also construct a self-contained theory of functional decompositions of rational functions with at most two poles generalizing the Ritt theory. In particular, we give new proofs of the theorems of Ritt and of the theorem of Bilu and Tichy.  相似文献

Let Fq denote the finite field with q elements. For nonnegative integers n,k, let dq(n,k) denote the number of n×nFq-matrices having k as the sum of the dimensions of the eigenspaces (of the eigenvalues lying in Fq). Let dq(n)=dq(n,0), i.e., dq(n) denotes the number of n×nFq-matrices having no eigenvalues in Fq. The Eulerian generating function of dq(n) has been well studied in the last 20 years [Kung, The cycle structure of a linear transformation over a finite field, Linear Algebra Appl. 36 (1981) 141-155, Neumann and Praeger, Derangements and eigenvalue-free elements in finite classical groups, J. London Math. Soc. (2) 58 (1998) 564-586 and Stong, Some asymptotic results on finite vector spaces, Adv. Appl. Math. 9(2) (1988) 167-199]. The main tools have been the rational canonical form, nilpotent matrices, and a q-series identity of Euler. In this paper we take an elementary approach to this problem, based on Möbius inversion, and find the following bivariate generating function:

We develop the Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for finite families of mappings on a metric space endowed with a directed graph. In particular, our results subsume a classical theorem of J.E. Hutchinson [J.E. Hutchinson, Fractals and self-similarity, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 30 (1981) 713-747] on the existence of an invariant set for an iterated function system of Banach contractions, and a theorem of L. Máté [L. Máté, The Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for certain non-contraction mappings, Period. Math. Hungar. 27 (1993) 21-33] concerning finite families of locally uniformly contractions introduced by Edelstein. Also, they generalize recent fixed point theorems of A.C.M. Ran and M.C.B. Reurings [A.C.M. Ran, M.C.B. Reurings, A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443], J.J. Nieto and R. Rodríguez-López [J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239; J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Existence and uniqueness of fixed point in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.) 23 (2007) 2205-2212], and A. Petru?el and I.A. Rus [A. Petru?el, I.A. Rus, Fixed point theorems in ordered L-spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 134 (2006) 411-418] for contractive mappings on an ordered metric space. As an application, we obtain a theorem on the convergence of infinite products of linear operators on an arbitrary Banach space. This result yields new generalizations of the Kelisky-Rivlin theorem on iterates of the Bernstein operators on the space C[0,1] as well as its extensions given recently by H. Oruç and N. Tuncer [H. New integrability and L1-convergence classes for the r-times differentiated trigonometric series are derived using known results on integrability and L1-convergence of trigonometric series. These classes, Theorems 1 and 2, subsume all known integrability and L1-convergence classes for differentiated series. In particular, the extensions of the Fomin type theorems to r-times differentiated series, due to S.S. Bhatia and B. Ram (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 124 (1996) 1821-1829) and S.Y. Sheng (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 110 (1990) 895-904), are deduced from our Theorem 2 and its corollary Theorem 4. Another extension of the known results for differentiated series is given in Theorem 6. This result is proved using Fomin's theorem on cosine and sine series (Mat. Zametki 23 (1978) 213-222), and as a corollary of Theorem 2. The first proof yields another interesting conclusion, namely that the Fomin type theorems for differentiated series can be deduced as consequences of the original Fomin's results.  相似文献

The little Grothendieck theorem for Banach spaces says that every bounded linear operator between C(K) and ?2 is 2-summing. However, it is shown in [M. Junge, Embedding of the operator space OH and the logarithmic ‘little Grothendieck inequality’, Invent. Math. 161 (2) (2005) 225-286] that the operator space analogue fails. Not every cb-map is completely 2-summing. In this paper, we show an operator space analogue of Maurey's theorem: every cb-map is (q,cb)-summing for any q>2 and hence admits a factorization ‖v(x)‖?c(q)‖vcbaxbq with a,b in the unit ball of the Schatten class S2q.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend the oscillation criteria that have been established by Hille [E. Hille, Non-oscillation theorems, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 64 (1948) 234-252] and Nehari [Z. Nehari, Oscillation criteria for second-order linear differential equations, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 85 (1957) 428-445] for second-order differential equations to third-order dynamic equations on an arbitrary time scale T, which is unbounded above. Our results are essentially new even for third-order differential and difference equations, i.e., when T=R and T=N. We consider several examples to illustrate our results.  相似文献

First, we systematize earlier results on the global stability of the model of population growth. Second, we investigate the effect of delay on the asymptotic behavior when the nonlinearity f is a unimodal function. Our results can be applied to several population models [Elements of Mathematical Ecology, 2001 [7]; Appl. Anal. 43 (1992) 109-124; Math. Comput. Modelling, in press; Funkt. Biol. Med. 256 (1982) 156-164; Math. Comput. Modelling 35 (2002) 719-731; Mat. Stos. 6 (1976) 25-40] because the function f does not need to be monotone or differentiable. Specifically, our results generalize earlier result of [Delay Differential Equations with Applications in Population Dynamics, 1993], since our function f may not be differentiable.  相似文献
