The depth profiles of 40-keV cobalt, chromium, and copper ions implanted into a titanium dioxide matrix at doses of 1016–1017 ions/cm2 are simulated with the DYNA software package. Its algorithm is based on the effects of pair collisions of introduced ions with substrate atoms, which result in a dynamic change in the elemental composition of the near-surface layer in the irradiated material, and takes into account surface sputtering. The results obtained are compared with the standard statistical distribution calculated by the TRIM algorithm.  相似文献

The dielectronic recombination (DR) rate coefficient αDR is explicitly calculated for the Si, Ar, Fe and Mo target ions of the Mg isoelectronic sequence with twelve electrons. Both the 3s, Δn ≠ 0 and 3s, Δn = 0 transitions are considered in detail. An explicit LS coupling scheme was applied to all the dominant transitions of these ions. Recombination of highly charged ions with free electrons is studied in merged-beams experiments at the UNILAC accelerator in Darmstadt and at the heavy-ion storage ring TSR in Heidelberg. Unexpected high recombination rates are observed for a number of ions at very low energiesE cm in the electron-ion center-of-mass frame. In particular, theoretical estimates for radiative recombination are dramatically exceeded by the experimental recombination rates of U28+ ions nearE cm=0 eV. The observations point to a general phenomenon in electron ion recombination depending onE cm, on the ion charge state, and possibly also on electron density, electron beam temperature, and strength of external magnetic fields.  相似文献

Technique and instrumentation to detect reliably, multiplicity of neutrons emitted in sharp bursts (≤100 μs) has been developed where a burst of as low as 15 neutrons and continuous emission of ⋍10−1 neutron/s may be detected. Using this technique, attempts were made to detect neutron emission from various experiments in which anomalous nuclear effects (or what is commonly referred to as cold fusion) may be expected to occur. No neutrons, above our detection threshold, were detected in the recent series of experiments.  相似文献

Pure metals (Cu, Ti, Zr, V, Pd) and diluted Pd alloys (Pd-Ag, Pd-Pt, Pd-Ru, Pd-Rh) were implanted by 25-keV deuterium ions at fluences in the range (1.2–2.3) × 1022 m−2. The post-treatment depth distributions of deuterium ions were measured 10 days and three months after the implantation by using Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA) and Rutherford Backscattering (RBS). Comparison of the obtained results allowed us to make conclusions about relative stability of deuterium and hydrogen gases in pure metals and diluted Pd alloys. Very high diffusion rates of implanted deuterium ions in V and Pd pure metals and Pd alloys were observed. Small-angle X-ray scattering revealed formation of nanosized defects in implanted corundum and titanium.  相似文献

All presently available experimental data on deuteron photodisintegration below 40 MeV (i.e., total and differential cross sections, photon asymmetry and neutron polarization) are collected and carefully compared with the present status of the conventional theory (i.e., in the framework of mesontheoretical or semi-phenomenologicalN-N potentials including subnuclear degrees of freedom and relativistic corrections). Recent experimental data obtained by the OBELIX collaboration on ˉpD and ˉp4 He total annihilation cross sections are analyzed. The combined analysis of these data with existing antiprotonic atom data allows, for the first time, the imaginary parts of the S-wave scattering lengths for the two nuclei to be extracted. The obtained values are: Im asc 0= [−0.62 ± 0.02 stat) ± 0.04 (sys)] fm for ˉpD and Im asc 0= [−0.36 ± 0.03 (stat)+0.19 −0.11 (sys)] fm for ˉp 4He. This analysis indicates an unexpected behaviour of the imaginary part of the ˉp-nucleus S-wave scattering length as a function of the atomic weight A: |Im asc 0| (macr;pp) > |Im asc 0| (ˉpD) > |Im asc 0 (ˉp4 He). Through precision measurements of fusion cross sections at energies close to the Coulomb barrier and through the application of the method of “experimental barrier distributions” which these permit, many recent advances have been made in our understanding of the dynamical processes occurring during a heavy-ion collision. It is now clear that the target and projectile reach one another in superpositions of states which correspond to different orientations for rotational nuclei or to different induced deformations for vibrational nuclei. The creation of a neck of neutron matter has also long been postulated and by studying the isotopic dependence of the fusion reaction, some recent results in the 10Ca+90,96Zr systems appear to confirm this result. For large Z 1 Z 2 a type of extra-push effect can arise from the same inelastic entrance-channel effects which enhance the fusion of lighter systems, though this will be absent in cases where the enhancement arises from neutron transfers. The existence of different barriers will of course influence all other reaction channels. Fusion simply allows one to visualise the barriers most easily, since for this process, the total cross section is an incoherent sum of the contributions from all relevant eigenchannels. Some effects in other channels have already been observed. Other possible effects will be discussed. These include; the exploitation of the lowest-energy barrier to produce exotic evaporation residues and strongly deformed high-spin states at low excitation energy.  相似文献

Understanding how quantum chromodynamics, the theory of strong interaction, works in the low-energy region, the so-called confinement region is one of the major challenges facing physicists. Low energy hadron physics, particularly the structure of hadron is one of the most active areas of research in nuclear physics addressing this challenge. The lectures review some of the basic concepts relevant for an understanding of the low energy properties of the strong interactions: chiral symmetry, spontaneous symmetry breakdown, Goldstone bosons, quark condensate. The effective field theory used to analyze the low energy structure is briefly sketched. The main cause of loss of trapped AH is due to collisions with H2 and He. As a first step towards treating these reactions we are studying the interaction of AH with H. We have carried out variational calculations to determine an upper bound to the smallest internuclear distance at which the light particles are still bound to the nuclei. We are currently in the process of taking into account the motion of the nuclei. This will enable us to calculate cross-sections for low energy H-AH scattering. A physical and mathematical model of mass transfer in polycrystalline metallic materials under exposure to ion beams is proposed. Alongside bulk indiffusion from the irradiated surface, diffusion along the migrating extensive defects interacting with an impurity is considered. For a polyenergetic ion beam, the contribution of bulk indiffusion is presented as an integral over energy of the product of two functions; one of them describes the energy distribution of ions in a beam and the second represents the implantation profile of monoenergetic ion beam.  相似文献

The effect of the environmental vibrations on the tunneling in the two- level systems in glasses is discussed. It is shown that the temperature, frequency and other dependences of the tunneling constant are charged drastically due to this mechanism. This allows one to explain the peculiar temperature dependence of the ultrasonic attenuation in glasses in a wide temperature range.  相似文献

Transition Metal (TM) ions V, Cr, Mn and Co were implanted into GaN/sapphire films at fluences 5×1014, 5×1015 and 5×1016 cm−2. First order Raman Scattering (RS) measurements were carried out to study the effects of ion implantation on the microstructure of the materials, which revealed the appearance of disorder and new phonon modes in the lattice. The variations in characteristic modes 1GaN i.e. E2(high) and A1(LO), observed for different implanted samples is discussed in detail. The intensity of nitrogen vacancy related vibrational modes appearing at 363 and 665 cm−1 was observed for samples having different fluences. A gallium vacancy related mode observed at 277/281 cm−1 for TM ions implanted at 5×1014 cm−2 disappeared for all samples implanted with rest of fluences. The fluence dependent production of implantation induced disorder and substitution of TM ions on cationic sites is discussed, which is expected to provide necessary information for the potential use of these materials as diluted magnetic semiconductors in future spintronic devices.  相似文献

The hadronic sector of the standard model at low energies is described by a nondecoupling effective field theory, chiral perturbation theory. An introduction is given to the construction of effective chiral Lagrangians, both in the purely mesonic sector and with inclusion of baryons.
