LR Tests for Random-Coefficient Covariance Structures in an Extended Growth Curve Model

This paper is concerned with an extended growth curve model with two within-individual design matrices which are hierarchically related. For the model some random-coefficient covariance structures are reduced. LR tests for testing the adequacy of each of these random-coefficient structures and their asymptotic null distributions are derived.

Bayesian Influence Assessment in the Growth Curve Model with Unstructured Covariance

From a Bayesian point of view, in this paper we discuss the influence of a subset of observations on the posterior distributions of parameters in a growth curve model with unstructured covariance. The measure used to assess the influence is based on a Bayesian entropy, namely Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD). Several new properties of the Bayesian entropy are studied, and analytically closed forms of the KLD measurement both for the matrix-variate normal distribution and the Wishart distribution are established. In the growth curve model, the KLD measurements for all combinations of the parameters are also studied. For illustration, a practical data set is analyzed using the proposed approach, which shows that the diagnostics measurements are useful in practice.

Variable Selection for the Growth Curve Model

In this paper we consider the problem of selecting the covariables within individuals in the growth curve model. We propose two modifications ofAICandMIC(Cp-static), which have improvements on the bias properties. Asymptotic distributions of variable slection criteria are derived under a general situation where a polynomial growth curve of degreej₀is approximately suitable. A simulation study is also given to gain some understanding on the small sample properties of these variable selection criteria

Logistic模型的改进——双S形曲线模型的研究

在Logistic模型的基础上,对一类空间饱和容量会随着时间发生变化的问题进行了讨论,指出了Lo-gistic模型应用在这类问题上的局限性,建立了解决该类问题的双S形曲线模型.对一组实际数据进行了拟合,结果表明双S形曲线模型能够更好地刻画实际问题,相对准确地预测未来的发展趋势.

ADMISSIBILITY OF LINEAR ESTIMATORS IN A GROWTH CURVE MODEL SUBJECT TO AN INCOMPLETE ELLIPSOIDAL RESTRICTION

This article considers the admissibility of the linear estimators for the regression coefficients in the growth curve model subject to an incomplete ellipsoidal restriction. The necessary and sufficient conditions for linear estimators to be admissible in classes of the homogeneous and non-homogeneous linear estimators, respectively, are obtained under the quadratic loss function. They are generalizations of some existing results in literature.     

Resolving Singularities in a Ramsey-type Growth Model

The aim of this paper is to discuss a mathematical solution procedure to solve a Ramsay-type growth model that explains the fundamentals of consumption and capital accumula-tion in a dynamic equilibrium setting. The problem is formulated as a system of recursive equations and studied through some numerical experiments for the time path of the different variables of the model under some alternative assumption for the steady-state equilibrium of the labour market conditioning the possible singularity of the model.
