The various scattering times of two-dimensional electron gas were investigated in modulation-doped Al0.22Ga0.78N/GaN quantum wells by means of magnetotransport measurements. The ratio of transport and quantum scattering times, τt/τq∼1, shows that the dominant mobility-limiting mechanisms are short-range scattering potentials. The low-field magnetoresistance shows the weak antilocalization and localization phenomenon from which the spin-orbit scattering and inelastic scattering times are obtained. The inelastic scattering time is found to follow the T−1 law, indicating that electron-electron scattering with small energy transfer is the dominant inelastic process.  相似文献

Precision measurements of transport and magnetic parameters of high-quality CeB6 single crystals are performed in the temperature range 1.8—300 K. It is shown that their resistivity in the temperature interval 5 K < T < T* ≈ 80 K obeys not a logarithmic law, which is typical of the Kondo mechanism of charge carrier scattering, but the law ρ ∝ T ?1/η corresponding to the weak localization regime with a critical index 1/η = 0.39 ± 0.02. Instead of the Curie-Weiss dependences, the asymptotic form χ(T) ∝ T ?0.8 is obtained for magnetic susceptibility of CeB6 in a temperature range of 15–300 K. Analysis of the field dependences of magnetization, magnetoresistance, and the Hall coefficient in the paramagnetic and magnetically ordered phases of CeB6 and comparison with the results of measurements of Seebeck coefficient, the inelastic neutron scattering coefficient, and EPR spectroscopy lead to the conclusion that the Kondo lattice model and skew scattering model cannot be used for describing the transport and thermodynamic parameters of this compound with strong electron correlations. On the basis of detailed analysis of experimental data, an alternative approach to interpreting the properties of CeB6 is proposed using (1) the assumption concerning itinerant paramagnetism and substantial renormalization of the density of electron states upon cooling in the vicinity of the Fermi energy, which is associated with the formation of heavy fermions (spin-polaron states) in the metallic CeB6 matrix in the vicinity of Ce sites; (2) the formation of ferromagnetic nanosize regions from spin polarons at 3.3 K < T < 7 K and a transition to a state with a spin density wave (SDW) at T Q ≈ 3.3 K; and (3) realization of a complex magnetic phase H-T diagram of CeB6, which is associated with an increase in the SDW amplitude and competition between the SDW and antiferromagnetism of localized magnetic moments of cerium ions.  相似文献

Applying Kubo's formulae and damping theoretical arguments the electric, thermoelectric and thermal transport coefficients for a system of free and independent electrons and fixed scatterers in the presence of an external magnetic field are calculated. Assumingδ-type scatterers it is shown that in the quantum regionkT?ω?ζ the Wiedemann-Franz law holds for the oscillating symmetric conductivities, whereas in the case of the antisymmetric ones quantum mechanical deviations from this law occur. For strong magnetic fields and arbitrary scattering potential the symmetric transversal transport coefficients can be expressed by Titeica type formulae.  相似文献

We study the influence of Coulomb interaction on the thermoelectric transport coefficients for a metallic single-electron transistor. By performing a perturbation expansion up to second order in the tunnel-barrier conductance, we include sequential and cotunneling processes as well as quantum fluctuations that renormalize the charging energy and the tunnel conductance. We find that Coulomb interaction leads to a strong violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law: the Lorenz ratio becomes gate-voltage dependent for sequential tunneling, and is increased by a factor 9/5 in the cotunneling regime. Finally, we suggest a measurement scheme for an experimental realization.  相似文献

We discuss Higgs boson decays in the CP-violating MSSM, and examine their phenomenological impact using cross section limits from the LEP Higgs searches. This includes a discussion of the full 1-loop results for the partial decay widths of neutral Higgs bosons into lighter neutral Higgs bosons (h a h b h c ) and of neutral Higgs bosons into fermions (\(h_{a} \to f \bar{f}\)). In calculating the genuine vertex corrections, we take into account the full spectrum of supersymmetric particles and all complex phases of the supersymmetric parameters. These genuine vertex corrections are supplemented with Higgs propagator corrections incorporating the full 1-loop and the dominant 2-loop contributions, and we illustrate a method of consistently treating diagrams involving mixing with Goldstone and Z bosons. In particular, the genuine vertex corrections to the process h a h b h c are found to be very large and, where this process is kinematically allowed, can have a significant effect on the regions of the CPX benchmark scenario which can be excluded by the results of the Higgs searches at LEP. However, there remains an unexcluded region of CPX parameter space at a lightest neutral Higgs boson mass of ~45 GeV. In the analysis, we pay particular attention to the conversion between parameters defined in different renormalisation schemes and are therefore able to make a comparison to the results found using renormalisation group improved/effective potential calculations.  相似文献

We estimate the cpntributions to HERA e±p deep inelastic scattering process from the color-triplet pseudo-Goldstone bosons appeared in technicolor theory. We find that the F = 0 scalar technicolor leptoquark P3', the lighter mixed state of charge 2/3 color-triplet pseudo-Goldstone bosons, can provide the required extra contributions to account for the excesses of both neutral and charged current events with very high Q2 at HERA simultaneously.  相似文献

Many complex oxides (including titanates, nickelates and cuprates) show a regime in which resistivity follows a power law in temperature (ρT 2). By analogy to a similar phenomenon observed in some metals at low temperature, this has often been attributed to electron-electron (Baber) scattering. We show that Baber scattering results in a T 2 power law only under several crucial assumptions which may not hold for complex oxides. We illustrate this with sodium metal (ρ el?elT 2) and strontium titanate (ρ el?el \(\hbox{$\not\propto$}\) T 2). We conclude that an observation of ρT 2 is not always sufficient evidence for electron-electron scattering.  相似文献

Using the Kubo formula approach, we study the effect of electron interaction on thermal transport in the vicinity of a metal-insulator transition, with a granular metal as our model. For small values of dimensionless intergrain tunneling conductance, g<1, we find that the thermal conductivity surprisingly shows a phononlike algebraic decrease, kappa(T) approximately g2T3/E2c even though the electrical conductivity obeys an Arrhenius law, sigma(T) approximately ge-Ec/T ; therefore the Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law is seriously violated. We explicitly show that this violation arises from nonmagnetic bosonic excitations of low energy that transport heat but not charge. At large values of intergrain tunneling, we find it plausible that the WF law weakly deviates from the free-electron theory due to potential fluctuations. Implications for experiment are discussed.  相似文献

We describe the electronic conductivity, as a function of the Fermi energy, in the Bernal bilayer graphene (BLG) in presence of a random distribution of vacancies that simulate resonant adsorbates. We compare it to monolayer (MLG) with the same defect concentrations. These transport properties are related to the values of fundamental length scales such as the elastic mean free path L e , the localization length ξ and the inelastic mean free path L i . Usually the later, which reflect the effect of inelastic scattering by phonons, strongly depends on temperature T. In BLG an additional characteristic distance l 1 exists which is the typical traveling distance between two interlayer hopping events. We find that when the concentration of defects is smaller than 1%–2%, one has l 1L e ? ξ and the BLG has transport properties that differ from those of the MLG independently of L i (T). Whereas for larger concentration of defects L e <l 1 ? ξ, and depending on L i (T), the transport in the BLG can be equivalent (or not) to that of two decoupled MLG. We compare two tight-binding model Hamiltonians with and without hopping beyond the nearest neighbors.  相似文献

Within the framework of quantum hydrodynamics of a superfluid helium surface, the momentum relaxation rate caused by the annihilation of two ripplons with phonon creation, inelastic phonon scattering with ripplon annihilation, and in the case of helium films one-particle ripplon scattering from the surface-level inhomogeneities introduced by the substrate roughness (new relaxation mechanism) was obtained for a ripplon gas at T?0.25 K. The contribution from the inelastic phonon scattering is negligible at these temperatures. For a film at T≤0.15 K, one-particle scattering dominates, leading to a temperature dependence of the form KT5/3 for the convective thermal conductance. At higher temperatures, phonon creation with annihilation of two ripplons is the dominant mechanism, giving KT?3. These results are in quantitative agreement with the available experimental data.  相似文献

We present an exact diagrammatic approach for the problem of dimer-dimer scattering in 3D for dimers being a resonance bound state of two fermions in a spin-singlet state, with corresponding scattering length a F . Applying this approach to the calculation of the dimmer-dimer scattering length a B , we recover exactly the already known result a B = 0.6 a F . We use the developed approach to obtain new results in 2D for fermions and bosons. Namely, we calculate bound state energies for three bbb and four bbbb resonantly interacting bosons in 2D. For the case of resonance interaction between fermions and bosons, we exactly calculate bound state energies of the following complexes: two bosons plus one fermion bbf, two bosons plus two fermions bfbf↓, and three bosons plus one fermion bbbf.  相似文献

The main properties and the type of the field-tuned quantum critical point in the heavy-fermion metal CeCoIn5 that arise upon application of magnetic fields B are considered within a scenario based on fermion condensation quantum phase transition. We analyze the behavior of the effective mass, resistivity, specific heat, charge, and heat transport as functions of applied magnetic fields B and show that, in the Landau Fermi liquid regime, these quantities demonstrate critical behavior, which is scaled by the critical behavior of the effective mass. We show that, in the high-field non-Fermi liquid regime, the effective mass exhibits very specific behavior, M*~ T? 2/3, and the resistivity demonstrates T2/3 dependence. Finally, at elevated temperatures, it changes to M*~T?1/2, while the resistivity becomes linear in T. In zero magnetic field, the effective mass is controlled by temperature T and the resistivity is also linear in T. The obtained results are in good agreement with recent experimental facts.  相似文献

Using the effective potential method, we computed one-loop corrections to the mass matrix of neutral Higgs bosons of the Non-Holomorphic Supersymmetric Standard Model (NHSSM) with explicit CP violation, where the radiative corrections due to the quarks and squarks of the third generation were taken into account. We observed that the non-holomorphic trilinear couplings can compete with the holomorphic ones in CP violating issues for the mass and mixing of the neutral Higgs bosons.  相似文献

Regularities are studied in charge transport due to the hopping conduction of holes along two-dimensional layers of Ge quantum dots in Si. It is shown that the temperature dependence of the conductivity obeys the Efros-Shklovskii law. It is found that the effective localization radius of charge carriers in quantum dots varies nonmonotonically upon filling quantum dots with holes, which is explained by the successive filling of electron shells. The preexponential factor of the hopping conductivity ceases to depend on temperature at low temperatures (T<10 K) and oscillates as the degree of filling quantum dots with holes varies, assuming values divisible by the conductance quantum e2/h. The results obtained indicate that a transition from phonon-assisted hopping conduction to phononless charge transfer occurs as the temperature decreases. The Coulomb interaction of localized charge carriers has a dominant role in these phononless processes.  相似文献

Within the minimal supersymmetric standard model, two vertex functions for the three-particle interaction of the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and H0 are analyzed in the one-loop approximation with allowance for a complete set of one-loop diagrams. The analysis is performed in the c.m. frame under the assumption that one of the Higgs bosons is virtual. The results obtained in this way are compared with those that involve only leading corrections in the low-energy approximation. The vertex functions in question are presented graphically versus the mixing angle β and the energy \(\sqrt s\). It is shown that corrections to these vertex functions may be significant in some domain of the model-parameter space, so that they must be taken into account in performing a detailed analysis of experimental data and theoretical predictions. The possibility of experimentally observing the dependences under study is explored.  相似文献

Heat and charge transport were used to probe the magnetic field-tuned quantum critical point in the heavy-fermion metal CeCoIn5. A comparison of electrical and thermal resistivities reveals three characteristic energy scales. A Fermi-liquid regime is observed below T(FL), with both transport coefficients diverging in parallel and T(FL) -->0 as H --> Hc, the critical field. The characteristic temperature of antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations, T(SF), is tuned to a minimum but finite value at Hc, which coincides with the end of the T-linear regime in the electrical resistivity. A third temperature scale, T(QP), signals the formation of quasiparticles, as fermions of charge e obeying the Wiedemann-Franz law. Unlike T(FL), it remains finite at Hc, so that the integrity of quasiparticles is preserved, even though the standard signature of Fermi-liquid theory fails.  相似文献

We analyze in detail the results of experimental investigations of the evolution of the thermal vibration spectra for iron atoms in iron monosilicide FeSi depending on two external parameters, viz., temperature T (in the range 46–297 K at pressure P = 0.1 MPa) and pressure P (in the range 0.1 MPa–43 GPa at temperature T = 297 K), obtained by nuclear inelastic scattering of synchrotron radiation. The decrease of the atomic volume is accompanied by a rearrangement of the phonon spectrum, which is manifested, in particular, in the splitting of the low-energy peak in the spectrum and in an increase of the energy for all phonons. The changes of the average energy of the iron atom vibrational spectrum and of the Debye energy with decreasing atomic volume are analyzed. Different versions of FeSi electron spectrum variation, which can be used to explain the observed phonon anomalies, are considered.  相似文献

The effect of Higgs bosons on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is considered within the model that is based on the SU(2)L×SU(2)R×U(1)B–L gauge group and which involves a bidoublet and two triplets of Higgs fields (left-right model). For the Yukawa coupling constants and the masses of Higgs bosons, the regions are found where the model leads to agreement with experimental results obtained at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. In order to explore corollaries from the constraints obtained for the parameters of the Higgs sector, the processes e+e?μ+μ?, τ+τ? and μ+μ?μ+μ?, τ+τ? are considered both within the left-right model and within the model involving two Higgs doublets (two-Higgs-doublet model). It is shown that, if the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson does indeed lie in the range 3.1–10 GeV, as is inferred from the condition requiring the consistency of the two-Higgs-doublet model with the data of the BNL experiment, this Higgs boson may be observed as a resonance peak at currently operating e+e? colliders (VEPP-4M, CESR, KEKB, PEP-II, and SLC). In order to implement this program, however, it is necessary to reduce considerably the scatter of energy in the e+ and e? beams used, since the decay width of the lightest neutral Higgs boson is extremely small at such mass values. It is demonstrated that, in the case of the left-right model, for which the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson is not less than 115 GeV, the resonance peak associated with it may be detected at a muon collider.  相似文献
