Bacterial contamination of implanted devices is a common cause of their failure. The aim of the present study was to assess the capability of electrochemical procedures to: (a) promote the formation of anatase on the surface of commercially pure Grade 2 Ti and Ti Grade 5 (Ti6Al4V) alloy; (b) inhibit in vitro biofilm formation of Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus mutans and Porphyromonas gingivalis and oral plaque in vivo, (c) preserve favorable response of osteoblasts and fibroblasts to materials surfaces. Ti Grade 2 and Ti Grade 5 were respectively anodized at two different voltages: 90 and 130V for pure titanium; 100 and 120V for Ti6Al4V alloy. Surface characterization was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with EDS probe, laser profilometry and X-ray diffractometry. Bacterial adhesion characterization was performed either in vitro and in vivo in patients. Osteoblast and fibroblast response was evaluated by metabolic activity assessment. The higher voltage applied in the anodization treatment of pure titanium (130V) and Ti6Al4V alloy (120V) surfaces, compared to the untreated pure titanium and Ti6Al4V and to lower voltage treatments, resulted in a greater decrease in bacterial attachment and biofilm formation in both in vitro and in vivo experiments. In contrast, the high voltage treatments were found to promote osteoblasts and fibroblasts proliferation. The observations indicated that the experimented high voltage anodization treatments may contribute to preserve the tissue integration and reduce bacteria colonization of titanium and titanium alloy for implantable applications.  相似文献

Despite the widespread use of Ti6Al4V in orthopaedics, the bioinert nature of this alloy limits its biological fixation with the bone tissue. To enhance its bone fixation, two different types of Ti6Al4V foams were fabricated, and their surfaces were modified zto possess nanofeatures. To prepare the foams, spherical- or irregular-shaped Ti6Al4V particles were used to form the backbones of the foams, while magnesium or carbamide powders were used as space holder agents. Once Ti6Al4V foams were fabricated, oxide-based nanotubular arrays having 40 nm diameter were formed on the interconnected pore surfaces via anodization. Results showed successful growth of nanotubular oxide arrays independent of the pore surface morphology, chemistry, and porosity content. Nanotubular surfaces induced formation of calcium phosphate minerals independent of the Ti6Al4V particle type and the space holder agent. Thus, anodized nanotubular Ti6Al4V foams could potentially induce enhanced integration of Ti6Al4V-based porous implants with the bone tissue.  相似文献

报道了一种新的非腐蚀性表面化学处理用于Ti6Al4V合金表面仿生磷酸钙涂层的制备. 将Ti6Al4V合金从浸入的过饱和磷酸钙溶液中拉出, 在空气中挥干表面附着的过饱和润湿膜, 在Ti6Al4V表面生成磷酸钙晶体, 且其表面覆盖率随处理次数增加而增加, 直至表面完全被覆盖. 再将磷酸钙晶体覆盖的Ti6Al4V浸入过饱和溶液后, 表面的磷酸钙晶体迅速生长成为均匀的磷酸钙涂层. 该表面化学处理的机理可能为一个挥发表面结晶过程, 其优点在于润湿膜干燥为表面成核提供驱动力, 因此无需采用表面腐蚀性处理或不稳定的高过饱和溶液处理.  相似文献

Electrophoresis in capillary and microfluidic systems, used in analytical chemistry to separate charged species, are quite sensitive to surface phenomena in terms of separation performances. In order to improve theses performances, new surface functionalization techniques are required. There is a need for methods to provide fast and accurate quantification about surface charges at liquid/solid interfaces. We present a fast, simple, and low-cost technique for the measurement of the zeta-potential, via the modelization and the measurement of streaming currents. Due to the small channel cross section in microfluidic devices, the streaming current modelization is easier than the streaming potential measurement. The modelization combines microfluidic simulations based on the Navier-Stokes equation and charge repartition simulations based on the Poisson-Boltzmann equation. This method has been validated with square and circular cross section shape fused-silica capillaries and can be easily transposed to any lab-on-chip microsystems.  相似文献

In order to improve the cell compatibility of biomedical carbon/carbon composites, Ti6Al4V coatings were applied on carbon/carbon composites by magnetron sputtering technique. The microstructure and cell responses of the coatings were evaluated, and the bonding strength between the coatings and carbon/carbon composites was analyzed. The Ti6Al4V coatings modulated the surface morphology, decreased the surface roughness, improved the surface wettability and achieved a strong bonding strength to carbon/carbon composites. The cells showed larger cell extension and higher cell proliferation for the Ti6Al4V coatings than for the carbon/carbon composites. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The thermal stability of the interface in an SiC-fiber reinforced Ti6Al4V-alloy was investigated using analytical transmission electron microscopy. Composites processed by hiping were heat-treated in vacuum between 600 °C and 800 °C for several hundred hours. The structure of the interface was investigated by TEM, and the element concentration in and near the interface was measured using EDX-STEM and EELS. Experimental errors resulting from the sample preparation are discussed. Based on the structural and analytical investigations, the conclusion can be drawn that the interface is stable for application temperatures of up to about 600 °C.Dedicated to Professor Günther Tölg on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

The effects of surface sputtering by 1.0‐MeV Au ion implantation in commercially pure Ti and its alloy Ti‐6Al‐4V have been studied. These materials are associated with applications in orthopaedic implants. There are few studies that try to explain the ion implantation process of Au in these materials when considering the effects generated on the surface by sputtering, especially at energies of the order of MeV. Discs of these materials were mirror polished and then implanted with 1.0‐MeV Au ions for 4.7 × 1017 ions/cm2 at 45° incident angle with respect to the surface. Part of the eroded material was deposited simultaneously on glass slides to determine their spatial distribution. These discs and the slides were analysed by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy and atomic force microscopy. An asymptotic solution was obtained to describe one-dimensional, steady-state transport of a symmetric binary electrolyte normal to two large parallel electrodes, in the limit in which the Debye length is infinitesimal compared to the distance separating the two electrodes. Despite the nonzero ion flux, Boltzmann's equation continues to describe the relationship between either ion concentration and the electrostatic potential inside the diffuse part of the double layer, while local electroneutrality applies outside, even for current densities approaching the limiting value. In the absence of ion adsorption or dissociation reactions at the electrodes, the magnitude of any charge or zeta potential arising on the electrodes at zero current is determined by the equilibrium constant for the redox reactions which would exchange ionic charge carriers for electric charge carriers at the electrode surface. Nonzero current causes the ionic strength of the bulk to vary with position. This perturbs the Debye length of the diffuse cloud on either electrode: it is the local ionic strength just outside the cloud which determines the Debye length for that cloud. Nonzero current also changes the zeta potential. The dimensionless rate of change dζ/dJ was as large as 30.  相似文献

The effect of temperature on the adsorption/desorption of ammonia from the air mixture on the surface of commercial binary V/Al and ternary Pd/V/Al, V(0.65 wt.%) /W(6.73 wt.%) /Ti and V(1.8 wt.%) /W(7.3 wt.%) /Ti de-NOx catalysts has been investigated by temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) method. The ability of the commercial catalysts to adsorb ammonia in the most stable surface species was shown to correlate well with their suppression of the NH3 oxidation.  相似文献

用ICP-AES法测定钛合金中的铝、钒、钼、铁、锆,研究了高频功率、雾化压力、辅助气流量、泵速对待测元素发射谱线强度的影响,优化的测定条件为:高频功率1150W,雾化压力165.7kPa,辅助气流量0.5L/min,泵速100r/rain。该法测定结果的相对标准偏差不大于1.2%,待测元素的回收率为98.0%~101.1%。  相似文献

The effect of molybdenum additions on the phases, microstructures, and mechanical properties of pre-alloyed Ti6Al4V was studied through the spark plasma sintering technique. Ti6Al4V-xMo (where x = 0, 2, 4, 6 wt.% of Mo) alloys were developed, and the sintered compacts were characterized in terms of their phase composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties. The results show that the equiaxed primary alpha and Widmänstatten (alpha + beta) microstructure in pre-alloyed Ti6Al4V is transformed into a duplex and globular model with the increasing content of Mo from 0 to 6%. The changing pattern of the microstructure of the sample strongly influences the properties of the material. The solid solution hardening element such as Mo enhances mechanical properties such as yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, ductility, and hardness compared with the pre-alloyed Ti6Al4V alloy.  相似文献

Sol-Gel Derived Functionally Graded TiO2/HAP Films on Ti-6Al-4V Implants   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Functionally graded TiO2/HAP coatings were prepared on Ti6Al4V implants by sol-gel process using calcium nitrate and phosphoric acid dissolved in ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, and titanium isopropoxide chelated by acethylacetone, isopropanol and water as starting materials. TiO2/HAP coating sols with variable HAP concentrations from 0% to 100% at 10% intervals were orderly spin coated on the substrates and pyrolyzed at 500°C in air. Well-crystallized HAP coatings between coating and substrate confirmed by X-ray diffraction and field emission-scanning electron microscopy were obtained by final annealing at 500°C in argon. In this work, bioactivities of the coating were studied by examining the variation of ion concentration of Ca and P in simulated body fluid after soaking using an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer. Coating surfaces after soaking in simulated body fluid indicated significant morphological changes by field emission-scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

本文采用共沉淀法合成了Ti:Al2O3纳米粉体.利用热重/差热(TG/DTA)/X射线衍射(XRD)/红外光谱(FTIR)/扫描电镜(SEM)以及能谱(EDS)等分析方法对合成的Ti:Al2O3纳米粉体进行了表征.结果分析表明:前驱体在1200℃下,保温1h可以得到纯的α-Al2O3晶相;粉体的粒径均匀、分散性好,平均粒径在25~50 nm之间.  相似文献

本文采用电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱法测定钛合金TC4中Fe、Al、V含量。使用硝酸与氢氟酸溶解试样,大幅缩短了溶样时间;确定了Fe、Al、V分析线分别为238.204nm、309.271nm、292.402nm。精密度实验表明,待测组分的相对标准偏差均低于1.26%(RSD,n=10),能满足钛合金TC4中Fe、Al、V含量的检测要求。  相似文献

Thermal oxidation of Ti6Al4V increases the thickness, modifies the structure, and changes the amount of alloying elements of the surface titanium dioxide layer with respect to the spontaneous passive layer of Ti6Al4V. The effects on the surface properties of Ti6Al4V and thermally oxidized Ti6Al4V after different periods of UV irradiation have been studied by measurement of water, formamide, and diiodomethane contact angles. The rate of modification of the water contact angle with the irradiation time is dependent on the surface treatment, but the water adhesion work, after an initial energetic step, follows a similar trend for both. Application of the Young equation together with the van Oss approach allowed evaluation of the surface Gibbs energy of the alloys. Similar to the water adhesion work, the surface Gibbs energy dependence on the irradiation time follows a similar trend for both samples and it is due to the change of the electron-donor parameter of the acid-base component. Also, a linear relationship common for both samples has been obtained between the cosines of the water contact angle and the formamide or diiodomethane contact angle. These facts indicate that the surface modification continuously produced by the UV irradiation is similar all along the process and similar for both samples after an energetic threshold for the thermally oxidized sample. It has been also tested that the hydrophilic-hydrophobic conversion is reversible for Ti6Al4V and Ti6Al4V thermally treated.  相似文献

In the present study, we investigate the implications of streaming potential on the mass flow rate control in a microfluidic device actuated by the combined application of a pulsating pressure gradient and a pulsating, externally applied, electric field. We demonstrate that the temporal dynamics due to streaming potential effects may lead to interesting non-trivial aspects of the resultant transport characteristics. Our results highlight the importance of an adequate accounting of the streaming potential effects for temporally tunable mass flow rate control strategies, which may act as a useful design artifice to augment mass flow rates in practical scenarios.  相似文献

研究了La的添加对Ti-Cu-Ni基钎料的性能,以及对Ti3Al和GH536钎焊接头的显微组织和机械性能的影响.研究结果表明: 采用添加La的钎料,可显著提高钎焊接头的拉伸强度,其原因在于La能明显提高钎料与母材的润湿性能,促进母材和钎料中元素的扩散.  相似文献
