Over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero simple Lie algebras admit outer automorphisms of order 3 if and only if they are of type D4. Moreover, thereare two conjugacy classes of such automorphisms. Among orthogonal Lie algebras over arbitrary fields of characteristic zero, only orthogonal Lie algebras relative to quadratic norm forms of Cayley algebras admit outer automorphisms of order 3. We give a complete list of conjugacy classes of outer automorphisms of order 3 for orthogonal Lie algebras over arbitrary fields of characteristic zero. For the norm form of a given Cayley algebra, one class is associated with the Cayley algebra and the others with central simple algebras of degree 3 with involution of the second kind such that the cohomological invariant of the involution is the norm form.  相似文献

In this paper we give a complete classification of the traceable factor representations of the C1-algebra which is the crossed product of the gauge group of automorphisms with the fermion algebra. Besides the type I representations, this algebra has an uncountable family of type II traceable factor representations. Unlike the fermion algebra, it has no finite factor representations. We present a similar analysis of the crossed product of SU(2) with the fermion algebra, where the action is the natural product action.  相似文献

The outer automorphism group of a nest algebra is canonically isomorphic to the (spatial) automorphism group of the nest itself. The outer automorphism group of the associated quasitriangular algebra is canonically isomorphic to a group of “approximate” automorphisms of the nest. A simple proof that every derivation of a quasitriangular algebra is inner is obtained as a corollary.  相似文献

For a C1-dynamical system (A, G, α) we show that the crossed product C1-algebra is induced from a simple C1-algebra equipped with an action of the Connes Spectrum, provided that A is G-simple and all isotropy subgroups of G under the action on the primitive ideal space of A are discrete. We then study the Borchers Spectrum of α and characterize its annihilator in G as the group of locally derivable automorphisms, under the assumption that the Arveson Spectrum of α is compact modulo the Borchers Spectrum. Finally a properly outer automorphism α is characterized by a series of equivalent conditions, one of which says that α is not close to the inner automorphisms on any ideal, another that α is not universally weakly inner on any ideal, and a third that the Borchers Spectrum of α on any invariant hereditary C1-subalgebra is non-zero. This characterization leads to the conclusion that α is aperiodic (i.e., every non-zero power is properly outer) precisely when the Connes Spectrum of α is the full circle group.  相似文献

Schur showed that if the center of a group has finite index, then the commutator subgroup is finite. By replacing inner automorphisms by automorphisms, Hegarty obtained a variation of Schur's result. The Lie algebra analogue of Schur's result is well-known. We obtain a strong Lie algebra version of Hegarty's result.  相似文献

For projectionless C-algebras absorbing the Jiang-Su algebra tensorially, we study a kind of the Rohlin property for automorphisms. We show that the crossed products obtained by automorphisms with this Rohlin property also absorb the Jiang-Su algebra tensorially under a mild technical condition on the C-algebras. In particular, for the Jiang-Su algebra we show the uniqueness up to outer conjugacy of the automorphism with this Rohlin property.  相似文献

The Cremona group acts on the field of two independent commutative variables over complex numbers. We provide a noncommutative algebra that is an analog of a noncommutative field of two independent variables and prove that the Cremona group embeds in a group of outer automorphisms of this algebra. We give two proofs of it, the first proof is technical, the second one is conceptual and proceeds through a construction of a birational invariant of an algebraic variety from its bounded derived category of coherent sheaves.  相似文献

We obtain deformations of a crossed product of a polynomial algebra with a group, under some conditions, from universal deformation formulas. We show that the resulting deformations are nontrivial by a comparison with Hochschild cohomology. The universal deformation formulas arise from actions of Hopf algebras generated by automorphisms and skew derivations, and are universal in the sense that they apply to deform all algebras with such Hopf algebra actions.  相似文献

In this article, we study the existence of gradings on finite dimensional associative algebras. We prove that a connected algebra A does not have a nontrivial grading if and only if A is basic, its quiver has one vertex, and its group of outer automorphisms is unipotent. We apply this result to prove that up to graded Morita equivalence there do not exist nontrivial gradings on the blocks of group algebras with quaternion defect groups and one isomorphism class of simple modules.  相似文献

Under composition, the set of automorphisms of a single algebra forms a group. The topic of this paper is the full set of all automorphisms of all algebra structures in a given abstract class on a fixed finite set. A lambda-ring, known as the automorphism type ring, is associated with this full set of automorphisms, and its structure is described. For certain classes (such as the variety of lattices), the full set of automorphisms is represented up to conjugation in the symmetric group by the automorphisms of a single, so-called representative algebra. In this case, the automorphism type ring is a subring of the ring of class functions on the automorphism group of the representative algebra.  相似文献

In this paper we study integral extensions of noncommutative rings. To begin, we prove that finite subnormalizing extensions are integral. This is done by proving a generalization of the Paré-Schelter result that a matrix ring is integral over the coefficient ring. Our methods are similar to those of Lorenz and Passman, who showed that finite normalizing extensions are integral. As corollaries we note that the (twisted) smash product over the restricted enveloping algebra of a finite dimensional restricted Lie algebra is integral over the coefficient ring and then prove a Going Up theorem for prime ideals in these ring extensions. Next we study automorphisms of rings. In particular, we prove an integrality theorem for algebraic automorphisms. Combining group gradings and actions, we show that if a ringR is graded by a finite groupG, andH is a finite group of automorphisms ofR that permute the homogeneous components, with the order ofH invertible inR, thenR is integral overR 1 H , the fixed ring of the identity component. This, in turn, is used to prove our final result: Suppose that ifH is a finite dimensional semisimple cocommutative Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. IfR is anH-module algebra, thenR is integral overR H , its subring of invariants.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate when various Banach algebras associated to a locally compact group G have the weak or weak fixed point property for left reversible semigroups. We proved, for example, that if G is a separable locally compact group with a compact neighborhood of the identity invariant under inner automorphisms, then the Fourier-Stieltjes algebra of G has the weak fixed point property for left reversible semigroups if and only if G is compact. This generalizes a classical result of T.C. Lim for the case when G is the circle group T.  相似文献

We show that an algebra with a non-nilpotent Lie group of automorphisms or “symmetries” (e.g., smooth functions on a manifold with such a group of diffeomorphisms) may generally be deformed (in the function case, “quantized”) in such a way that only a proper subgroup of the original group acts. This symmetry breaking is a consequence of the existence of certain “universal deformation formulas” which are elements, independent of the original algebra, in the tensor algebra of the enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of the group.  相似文献

Let R be a group graded ring . The map ( , ): R × R →1 defined by: (x,y) = (xy)1 , is an inner product on R. In this paper we investigate aspects of nondegeneracy of the product, which is a generalization of the notion of strongly G —graded rings,introduced by Dade. We show that various chain conditions are satisfied by R if and only if they are satisfied by R1 , and that when R1 is simple artinian, then R is a crossed product R1 * G. We give conditions for simple R-modules to be completely reducible R1 -modules . Finally, we prove an incomparability theorem,when G is finite abelian.  相似文献

Let R ? G denote a crossed product of the finite group G over the ring R and let V be an R ? G-module. Maschke's theorem states that if 1/∣G∣ ε R and if V is completely reducible as an R-module, then V is also completely reducible as an R ? G -module. In this paper, we obtain two applications of this theorem, both under the assumption that R is semiprime with no ∣G∣ -torsion. The first concerns group actions and here we show that if G acts on R and if I is an essential right ideal of the fixed ring RG , then IR is essential in Rs. This result, in turn, simplifies a number of proofs already in the literature. The second application here is a short proof of a theorem of Fisher and Montgomery which asserts that the crossed product R ? G is semiprime.  相似文献
