A method for calculating the photoionization cross sections of fullerenes taking into account many-electron correlations on the basis of the local density and random phase approximations is proposed and implemented. Calculations are made specifically for fullerenes C60 and C20. It is shown that the photoionization spectrum of C60 acquires a plasmon resonance whose position and magnitude are in good agreement with experimental results [I.V. Hertel, H. Steger, J. de Vries et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 68, 784 (1992)] and with the results of other calculations [M.J. Puska and R.N. Nieminen, Phys. Rev. A47, 1181 (1993)]. The emergence of a giant resonance is predicted in the photoionization spectrum of fullerene C20 with the center at a photon energy on the order of 27 eV, which corresponds to the frequency of resonant surface plasmon oscillations in a conducting sphere.  相似文献

We study a disordered nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with an additional relaxation process having a finite response time ??. Without the relaxation term, ?? = 0, this model has been widely studied in the past and numerical simulations showed subdiffusive spreading of initially localized excitations. However, recently Caetano et al. [Eur. Phys. J. B 80, 321 (2011)] found that by introducing a response time ?? > 0, spreading is suppressed and any initially localized excitation will remain localized. Here, we explain the lack of subdiffusive spreading for ?? > 0 by numerically analyzing the energy evolution. We find that in the presence of a relaxation process the energy drifts towards the band edge, which enforces the population of fewer and fewer localized modes and hence leads to re-localization. The explanation presented here relies on former findings by Mulansky et al. [Phys. Rev. E 80, 056212 (2009)] on the energy dependence of thermalized states.  相似文献

In this work, we study the long-term aging effect caused by Fe atoms in the superconductor CaLaBa{Cu1???xFex}3O7????? with 0 ?? x ?? 0.07. XRD confirms that this system has a YBCO-like structure. The critical temperature (Tc) is strongly affected by aging and depends on the amount of Fe in the structure. Room temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy reveals the presence of the typical species A, B?CB ??, C and new species E ?? and F. Interestingly; A, which corresponds to the Fe3?+? atom located in the Cu(1) of the chains with spin S z = 3/2, shows a drastic reduction which means migration to the species B, B ?? and C. Species B and B ?? correspond to the Fe3?+? in the Cu(2) site forming planar quasi-octahedral and planar square pyramidal, while the C specie is a square pyramidal with O(5) respectively (spin Sz = 3/2 in all these cases). Aging causes loss of superconductivity in the samples with 5 and 7% of iron content.  相似文献

We obtained an approximation of the force field of ??-quartz crystal using a new idea of applying density functional theory [J Purton, R Jones, C R A Catlow and M Leslie, Phys. Chem. Minerals 19, 392 (1993)]. Our calculations were based on B3LYP Hamiltonian [A N Lazarev and A P Mirgorodsky, Phys. Chem. Minerals 18, 231 (1991)] in 6?311+G(2d) basis set for H16Si7O6 cluster and included a unit cell of the lattice. The advantage of our method is the increase in the speed of calculations and the better adaption of simulation results with the experimental data.  相似文献

We present a combined experimental and theoretical study on the rotationally inelastic scattering of OH (X2Π3/2, J = 3/2, f) radicals with the collision partners He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, and D2 as a function of the collision energy between ~70 cm?1 and 400 cm?1. The OH radicals are state selected and velocity tuned prior to the collision using a Stark decelerator, and field-free parity-resolved state-to-state inelastic relative scattering cross sections are measured in a crossed molecular beam configuration. For all OH-rare gas atom systems excellent agreement is obtained with the cross sections predicted by coupled channel scattering calculations based on accurate ab initio potential energy surfaces. This series of experiments complements recent studies on the scattering of OH radicals with Xe [J.J. Gilijamse, S. Hoekstra, S.Y.T. van de Meerakker, G.C. Groenenboom, G. Meijer, Science 313, 1617 (2006)], Ar [L. Scharfenberg, J. K?os, P.J. Dagdigian, M.H. Alexander, G. Meijer, S.Y.T. van de Meerakker, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 12, 10660 (2010)], He, and D2 [M. Kirste, L. Scharfenberg, J. K?os, F. Lique, M.H. Alexander, G. Meijer, S.Y.T. van de Meerakker, Phys. Rev. A 82, 042717 (2010)]. A comparison of the relative scattering cross sections for this set of collision partners reveals interesting trends in the scattering behavior.  相似文献

The experimentally observed non-Gaussian form of passive tracer distributions in media stirred by active swimmers (Leptos et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 103, 198103 (2009)) are analyzed in terms of continuous time random walks. The walks are characterized by a trapping time distribution ??(??) with long time behaviour ??(??) ?? ?? ?1??? and a step size distribution p(??x) ?? (??x)?2??? . The experimentally observed behaviour that ??x 2?? ?? t is obtained for a one-parameter family of exponents with ?? = 2??. However, the distribution function for this case is non-Gaussian and shows exponential tails. The shape of the distributions agrees rather well with the experimental observations from Leptos et al. and allows for the determination of the exponents.   相似文献

Understanding of the production processes of the η meson will strongly rely on the precise determination of spin observables. So far these observables have been determined only for few excess energies and with low statistics (Winter et al. Eur. Phys. J. A18, 355 2003; Czyzykiewicz et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 122003 2007; Balestra et al. Phys. Rev. C69, 064003 2004). In the year 2010 WASA detector was used for the measurement of the \(\overrightarrow {p}p\rightarrow pp\eta \) reaction with the polarized proton beam of COSY (Moskal and Hodana J. Phys. Conf. Ser 295, 012080 2011). The measurement was done for the excess energy of Q = 15 MeV and Q = 72 MeV. In total about 106 events corresponding to the \(\overrightarrow {p}p\rightarrow pp\eta \) reaction have been collected.  相似文献

We report the first experimentally supported determination of the scattering length for positron scattering from krypton. Our result of  ?10.3 ± 1.5 a.u. compares favourably with that from a convergent close coupling calculation performed as a part of this investigation (?9.5 a.u.), and also with an earlier many body theory calculation of  ?10.1 a.u. from Gribakin and Ludlow [Phys. Rev. A 70, 032720 (2004)] and a polarized-orbital result of  ?10.4 a.u. from McEachran et al. [J. Phys. B 13, 1281 (1980)]. The present experimental scattering length supports the existence of a low-lying positron-krypton virtual state (Surko et al. [J. Phys. B 38, R57 (2005)]) at an energy ε = 0.13 eV.  相似文献

This paper describes a new fluorescent family of branched dyes containing benzophenone unit including 4-N, N-diphenylamino-4??-phenacyl-stilbene (C1), 4,4??-di(4-benzoylphenylethylene)yl-triphenylamine (C2) and 4,4??,4??-tri(4-benzoylphenylethylene)yl-triphenylamine (C3). Benzophenone part is coupled with core through C?CC double bond. The chemical structures of the derivatives are characterized with 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance and elemental analysis. Strong ?ШC?? stacking interactions are discovered with the analysis of the X-ray crystallographic data of C1. The absorption maxima and emission maxima of the derivatives exhibit gradual bathochromic shift from C1 to C3. The optical density of C1, C2 and C3 are shown to be related to the number of branches. The changes of dipole moments between the excited and ground states for C1, C2 and C3 were estimated to be 4.356, 8.091 and 8.479 Derby, respectively by Lippert equation, confirming that the internal charge transfer (ICT) dominates the process of excited singlet state. The possibility as fluorescence probes of the derivatives on the estimation of what region of micelles interacting with samples was evaluated.  相似文献

In this article the results of the evaluation of the contribution of nuclear disintegration, based on the basis of diffraction theory in the 208Pb(6Li, αd)208Pb Coulomb breakup at an energy of 156 MeV is presented. Comparison of the results of the calculation with the experimental data of Kiener et al. [Phys. Rev. C 44, 2195 (1991)] gives evidence for the dominance of the Coulomb dissociation mechanism and contribution of nuclear distortion, but essentially smaller than the value reported byHammache et al. [Phys. Rev. C 82, 065803 (2010)] and Sümmerer [Prog. Part. Nucl. Phys. 66, 298 (2011)].  相似文献

Two exotic objects are still not identified experimentally in chiral superfluids and superconductors. These are the half-quantum vortex, which plays the part of the Alice string in relativistic theories [A. S. Schwarz, Nucl. Phys. B 208, 141 (1982)], and the hedgehog in the Î field, which is the counterpart of the Dirac magnetic monopole. These two objects of different dimensionality are topologically connected. They form a combined object which is called a nexus [John M. Cornwall, hep-th/9911125; Phys. Rev. D 59, 125015 (1999); Phys. Rev. D 58, 105028 (1998)] or center monopole [N. N. Chernodub, M. I. Polikarpov, A. I. Veselov and M. A. Zubkov, Nucl. Phys. Proc. Suppl. 73, 575 (1999)] in relativistic theories. Such a combination will permit the observation of half-quantum vortices and monopoles in several realistic geometries.  相似文献

We performed an intermittency analysis of the proton density fluctuations in transverse momentum space for the collisions Si+A (A=Al,Si,P) and C+A (A=C,N) at maximum SPS energy $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ ?? 17 GeV). In our analysis we used exclusively proton tracks in the midrapidity region (|y CM | ?? 0.75). For the Si+A system we find signature of power-law distributed density fluctuations quantified by the intermittency index ? 2 which approaches in size the predictions of critical QCD [Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 032002 (2006)]. This result supports further the recent findings of power-law fluctuations in the density of (?? +, ?? ?) pairs with invariant mass close to their production threshold for the Si+Si at the same energy, reported in [Phys. The AE?IS experiment (Antimatter Experiment: Gravity, Interferometry, Spectroscopy (Drobychev et al., 2007)), aims at directly measuring the gravitational acceleration g on a beam of cold antihydrogen ( $\overline{\rm H}$ ). After production, the $\overline{\rm H}$ atoms will be driven to fly horizontally with a velocity of a few 100 m/s for a path length of about 1 meter. The small deflection, few tens of μm, will be measured using two material gratings coupled to a position-sensitive detector working as a Moiré deflectometer similarly to what has been done with atoms (Oberthaler et al., Phys Rev A 54:3165, 1996). Details about the detection of the $\overline{\rm H}$ annihilation point at the end of the flight path with a position-sensitive microstrip detector and a silicon tracker system will be discussed.  相似文献

The solution to Bell theorem for N-qubits was widely studied in [M. ?ukowski, ?. Brukner, Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 210401 (2002)]. Here we present a different way to obtain the solution of that theorem for the dichotomic experiment. In order to obtain a solution for the Werner-Wolf-?ukowski-Brukner WW?B inequality a new correlation function is proposed. This new correlation function expresses directly the constraints imposed by local theories. We use the general Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state, whereof, as it is well known, emerges a family of entangled states that do not violate the WW?B inequality [M. ?ukowski, ?. Brukner, W. Laskowski, M. Wie?niak, Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 210402 (2002)], i.e. it can be described by a local realistic theory, to illustrate our results.  相似文献

The scattering of fast charged particles in a bent crystal has been analyzed in the framework of relativistic classical mechanics. The expressions obtained for the deflection function are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data for the volume reflection of relativistic protons obtained by Yu. M. Ivanov et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 144801 (2006); Yu. M. Ivanov et al., Pis’ma Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 84, 445 (2006) [JETP Lett. 84, 372 (2006)]; and W. Scandale et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 154801 (2007). The features of the scattering of the particles on ring potentials are considered in a wide range of impact parameters.  相似文献

We study the structure of local baryon fields using the method of QCD sum rule. We only consider the single baryon fields and calculate their operator product expansions. We find that the octet baryon fields belonging to the chiral representations $[(\mathbf{3},\bar{\mathbf{3}}) \oplus(\bar{\mathbf{3}}, \mathbf{3})]$ and [(8,1)??(1,8)] and the decuplet baryon fields belonging to the chiral representations [(3,6)??(6,3)] lead to the baryon masses which are consistent with the experimental data of ground baryon masses. We also calculate their decay constants, check our normalizations for baryon fields in Chen et?al. (Phys. Rev.?D 81:054002, 2009) and find that they are well-defined.  相似文献

Experimental data on the diagonal resistivity ρ xx of GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures in a magnetic field at the filling factor ν = 1/2 have been compared with the existing theoretical predictions [B. I. Halperin et al., Phys. Rev. B 47, 7312 (1993) and F. Evers et al., Phys. Rev. B 60, 8951 (1999)]. The experimental results have been found to follow the relation ρ xx (1/2) ∝ n ?2 d ?1.64, which disagrees with the predictions.  相似文献

Space-based observations by PAMELA (Adriani et al., Nature 458, 607, 2009), Fermi-LAT (Ackerman et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 01103, 2012), and AMS (Aguilar et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 141102, 2013) have demonstrated that the positron fraction (e+/total-e) increases with increasing energy above about 10 GeV. According to the propagation model for Galactic cosmic rays in widespread use (Moskalenko & Strong, Astrophys. J. 493, 693, 1998), the production of secondary positrons from interaction of cosmic-ray protons and heavier nuclei with the interstellar medium gives a generally falling positron fraction between 10 and 100 GeV, with secondary positrons accounting for only ~20 % of the observed positron fraction at 100 GeV; so some other physical phenomena have been proposed to explain the data. An alternative approach to interpreting the positron observations is to consider these data as presenting an opportunity for re-examining models of Galactic cosmic-ray propagation. Following release of the PAMELA data, three groups published propagation models (Shaviv, et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 103, 111302, 2009, Cowsik and Burch, Phys. Rev. D. 82, 023009, 2010, Katz et al., Mon. Not. R. Aston. Soc. 405, 1458 2010) in which the observed positron fraction is explained entirely by secondary positrons produced in the interstellar medium. In May of this year, stimulated by the AMS extension of the positron data to higher energy with excellent statistics, two of those groups presented further development of their calculations (Cowsik et al. 2013, Blum et al. 2013), again concluding that the observed positrons can be understood as secondaries. None of the authors of these five papers was registered for the 33rd International Cosmic Ray Conference (ICRC). Although I am not an author of any of these papers, I have some close familiarity with one of these recent papers, so the conference organizers invited me to bring this alternative approach to the attention of the conference. The present paper is a summary of the material I presented, along with a brief comment about reaction at the conference to this approach.  相似文献
