We study the von Kármán–Howarth (KH) equation by group theoretical methods. This scalar partial differential equation involves two dependent variables (closure problem) and, it has been derived from the Navier–Stokes equations. The equivalence Lie algebra L has been found to be infinite-dimensional and, it is spanned by the four operators. The subalgebra of L is spanned by the three operators. Furthermore, ideal comprises one operator. Optimal systems of one-, two- and three-dimensional subalgebras have been obtained. Normalizers for the one- and two-dimensional subalgebras have been calculated. Finally we have obtained the submodels of the KH equation corresponding to optimal system of one- and two-dimensional subalgebras. This merely suggests alternative solutions to the closure problem of isotropic turbulence.  相似文献

A closed 3-manifold M is said to be hyperelliptic if it has an involution τ such that the quotient space of M by the action of τ is homeomorphic to the standard 3-sphere. We show that the hyperbolic football manifolds of Emil Molnár [12] are hyperelliptic. Then we determine the isometry groups of such manifolds. Another consequence is that the unique hyperbolic dodecahedral and icosahedral 3-space forms with first homology group ℤ35 (constructed by I. Prok in [16], on the basis of a principal algorithm due to Emil Molnár [13], and by Richardson and Rubinstein in [18]) are also hyperelliptic.  相似文献

Extremal problems are treated in the classP D which is a generalization, to the two complex variables case, of the class of close-to-starlike functions regular in a disc. Our considerations include estimates of the basic functionals, in particular, those specific for the functions of several complex variables; exactness of estimates is considered, as well.
