依据近场波数积分、远场耦合简正波相结合的二维噪声场模型,侧重理论研究孤子内波所在扇区,环境噪声垂直阵响应的变化,分析了某些孤子内波情形下垂直阵环境噪声水平凹槽变深这一异常现象的原因:孤子内波离垂直阵较近时,远离内波的海面噪声源多,其激发的简正波能量由低号耦合到高号,在垂直阵处高号简正波能量对环境噪声场贡献增大,导致环境噪声水平凹槽加深;对于大尺度、多波包孤子内波,其范围相对较大,内波所在区的局部简正波本征值和本征函数产生的变化影响显著,使低号简正波衰减变快,而高号衰减慢,导致接收阵处高号简正波能量增加,低号简正波变弱,这样,无论孤子内波群靠近或离接收阵远,都将使垂直阵环境噪声水平凹槽加深。  相似文献

In a two-fluid system where the lower fluid is bounded below by a rigid bottom and the upper fluid is bounded above by a free surface, two kinds of solitary waves can propagate along the interface and the free surface: classical solitary waves characterized by a solitary pulse or generalized solitary waves with nondecaying oscillations in their tails in addition to the solitary pulse. The classical solitary waves move faster than the generalized solitary waves. The origin of the nonlocal solitary waves can be understood from a physical point of view. The dispersion relation for the above system shows that short waves can propagate at the same speed as a “slow” solitary wave. The interaction between the solitary wave and the short waves creates a nonlocal solitary wave. In this paper, the interfacial-wave problem is reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations by using a classical perturbation method, which takes into consideration the possible resonance between short waves and “slow” solitary waves. In the past, classical Korteweg–de Vries type models have been derived but cannot deal with the resonance. All solutions of the new system of model equations, including classical as well as generalized solitary waves, are constructed. The domain of validity of the model is discussed as well. It is also shown that fronts connecting two conjugate states cannot occur for “fast” waves. For “slow” waves, fronts exist but they have ripples in their tails.  相似文献

Optical solitary waves that propagate in a Kerr medium exhibiting a power-law nonlocal response are studied analytically. The first-principles stability analysis based on quantum field theory shows that within the whole range of the exponent (the fractal dimension) the solitary wave can be stabilized.  相似文献

A generalized Boussinesq equation that includes the dissipation effect is derived to describe a kind of algebraic Rossby solitary waves in a rotating fluid by employing perturbation expansions and stretching transformations of time and space.Using this equation, the conservation laws of algebraic Rossby solitary waves are discussed. It is found that the mass, the momentum, the energy, and the velocity of center of gravity of the algebraic solitary waves are conserved in the propagation process. Finally, the analytical solution of the equation is generated. Based on the analytical solution, the properties of the algebraic solitary waves and the dissipation effect are discussed. The results point out that, similar to classic solitary waves,the dissipation can cause the amplitude and the speed of solitary waves to decrease; however, unlike classic solitary waves,the algebraic solitary waves can split during propagation and the decrease of the detuning parameter can accelerate the occurrence of the solitary waves fission phenomenon.  相似文献

We construct a class of three-dimensional strongly nonlocal spatiotemporal solitary waves of the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation, by using superpositions of single accessible solitons as initial conditions. Evolution of such solitary waves, termed the accessible light bullets, is studied numerically by choosing specific values of topological charges and other solitonic parameters. Our numerical results reveal that in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media with a Gaussian response function, different classes of accessible spatiotemporal solitons can be generated and controlled by tailoring different soliton parameters.  相似文献

An investigation has been made of ion-acoustic solitary waves in an unmagnetized nonthermal plasma whose constituents are an inertial ion fluid and nonthermally distributed electrons. The properties of stationary solitary structures are briefly studied by the pseudo-potential approach, which is valid for arbitrary amplitude waves, and by the reductive perturbation method which is valid for small but finite amplitude limit. The time evolution of both compressive and rarefactive solitary waves, which are found to coexist in this nonthermal plasma model, is also examined by solving numerically the full set of fluid equations. The temporal behaviour of positive (compressive) solitary waves is found to be typical, i.e., the positive initial disturbance breaks up into a series of solitary waves with the largest in front. However, the behaviour of negative (rarefactive) solitary waves is quite different. These waves appear to be unstable and produce positive solitary waves at a later time. The relevancy of this investigation to observations in the magnetosphere of density depressions is briefly pointed out. Received 12 October 1999  相似文献

In this paper, the interactions of three types of adjacent combined solitary waves, which are conveniently called Types I, II, and III combined solitary wave, respectively, are numerically investigated. The results show that their interactions exhibit quite different properties. For Type I combined solitary waves, the interaction is quite weaker than that of dark solitons for the standard nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation. Interestingly, the interaction can be well suppressed when they are reduced to the pure dark ones. But for Type II combined solitary waves, the interaction is much stronger than those of Types I and III combined solitary waves and is very difficult to be suppressed. Surprisingly, two adjacent Type III combined solitary waves, both brightlike and darklike ones, hardly interplay each other. These results imply that Type I pure dark solitary waves and Type III combined solitary waves may be regarded as appropriate candidates for information carriers. In addition, the propagation of pulse trains composed of combined solitary waves is investigated.  相似文献

The bifurcation theory of dynamical systems is applied to an integrable nonlinear wave equation. As a result, it is pointed out that the solitary waves of this equation evolve from bell-shaped solitary waves to W/M-shaped solitary waves when wave speed passes certain critical wave speed. Based on the bifurcation and the idea that the solitary waves and shock waves of partial differential equations correspond respectively to the homoclinic and heteroclinic trajectories of nonlinear ordinary differential equations satisfied by the travelling waves,different conditions for the existence of solitary waves of a perturbed sine-Gordon equation are obtained.All of the corresponding approximate solitary wave solutions are given by integrating the derived approximate equations directly.  相似文献

利用数值方法研究了双温离子、磁场、非均匀性和波的斜向传播对三维非线性尘埃声孤波振幅和宽度的影响。运用约化摄动法得到描述三维非线性尘埃声孤波的非标准变系数Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)方程。然后把非标准变系数KdV方程变为标准变系数KdV方程,并且得到了此标准变系数KdV方程的近似解析解。研究结果表明,此系统中存在着两种形式的孤波,即压缩型孤波和稀疏型孤波,外部磁场对三维非线性尘埃声孤波的宽度有影响,而对其振幅没有影响。此外,波的相速度与波的斜向传播和非均匀性有着非常紧密的联系。  相似文献

Excitation of solitary waves and their propagation in surface-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal cells under alternating external electric field is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The effect of solitary waves on electro-optic response spectra is analyzed for different amplitudes of applied fields, temperatures, and sample thicknesses. It is shown that solitons can only be excited within narrow ranges of frequencies of the sufficiently strong electric fields. The minimal frequency, at which soliton waves appear in ferroelectric smectic liquid crystals, is found to be related to the material constants of these systems. It is proved that measuring this threshold frequency gives the possibility to determine one of the material parameters, if the others are known. In this way, the intra-smectic-layer elastic constant is found for systems with the chevron geometry.  相似文献

The dissipative nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a forcing item is derived by using of multiple scales analysis and perturbation method as a mathematical model of describing envelope solitary Rossby waves with dissipation effect and external forcing in rotational stratified fluids. By analyzing the evolution of amplitude of envelope solitary Rossby waves, it is found that the shear of basic flow, Brunt-Vaisala frequency and β effect are important factors in forming the envelope solitary Rossby waves. By employing Jacobi elliptic function expansion method and Hirota's direct method, the analytic solutions of dissipative nonlinear Schrödinger equation and forced nonlinear Schrödinger equation are derived, respectively. With the help of these solutions, the effects of dissipation and external forcing on the evolution of envelope solitary Rossby wave are also discussed in detail. The results show that dissipation causes slowly decrease of amplitude of envelope solitary Rossby waves and slowly increase of width, while it has no effect on the propagation speed and different types of external forcing can excite the same envelope solitary Rossby waves. It is notable that dissipation and different types of external forcing have certain influence on the carrier frequency of envelope solitary Rossby waves.  相似文献

We report the observation of depression solitary surface waves on a layer of mercury when its depth is thin enough compared to the capillary length. These waves, as well as the well known elevation solitary waves, are studied with a new measurement technique using inductive sensors. The shape of the solitary waves, their amplitude-dependent velocity, and their damping rates by viscosity are found in good agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

We show analytically the existence of nondegenerate symbiotic solitary waves in quadratic media with absorption losses. We study these new solitary waves in the particular case of a backward quasi-phase-matching configuration. Our numerical simulations reveal that, when it is used inside a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator, this configuration leads to the spontaneous formation of new solitary waves.  相似文献

This paper discusses the existence of ion-acoustic solitary waves and their interaction in a dense quantum electron-positron-ion plasma by using the quantum hydrodynamic equations.The extended Poincar’e-Lighthill-Kuo perturbation method is used to derive the Korteweg-de Vries equations for quantum ion-acoustic solitary waves in this plasma.The effects of the ratio of positrons to ions unperturbation number density p and the quantum diffraction parameter H e (H p) on the newly formed wave during interaction,and the phase shift of the colliding solitary waves are studied.It is found that the interaction between two solitary waves fits linear superposition principle and these plasma parameters have significantly influence on the newly formed wave and phase shift of the colliding solitary waves.The investigations should be useful for understanding the propagation and interaction of ion-acoustic solitary waves in dense astrophysical plasmas (such as white dwarfs) as well as in intense laser-solid matter interaction experiments.  相似文献

The random generation of coherent solitary waves from incoherent waves in a medium with an instantaneous nonlinearity has been observed. One excites a propagating incoherent spin wave packet in a magnetic film strip and observes the random appearance of solitary wave pulses. Existence of a new class of complex solitary waves is shown for Sasa Satsuma equation. These solitary waves are found to be stable in a certain domain of the parameter and become chaotic if the parameter exceeds the value 2.4. Significantly, the complex solitary waves propagate at higher bit rate over the most stable solitons under the same conditions of the input parameters.  相似文献

通过使用推广的 Poincar-Lighthill-Kuo 摄动方法,研究了二维热离子等离子体中两个沿不同方向传播的离子声孤波的相互作用,得到了两个分别描述沿ξη方向传播的孤波的KdV方程以及两个孤波以任意夹角碰撞后的相移和轨道.同时还研究了离子温度比σ、热容比γ和碰撞夹角α对孤波相移的影响.研究表明,这些参量可以明显地改变孤波的相移,且在该系统中存在压缩型孤波. 关键词: 热离子等离子体 离子声孤波 Poincar-Lighthill-Kuo方法 相移  相似文献

This review reports on plasma response to transient high voltage pulses in a low pressure unmagnetized plasma. Mainly, the experiments are reviewed, when a disc electrode (metallic and dielectric) is biased pulsed negative or positive. The main aim is to review the electron loss in plasmas and particle balance during the negative pulse electrode biasing, when the applied pulse width is less than the ion plasma period. Though the applied pulse width is less than the ion plasma period, ion rarefaction waves are excited. The solitary electron holes are reviewed for positive pulsed bias to the electrode. Also the excitation of waves (solitary electron and ion holes) is reviewed for a metallic electrode covered by a dielectric material. The wave excitation during and after the pulse withdrawal, excitation and propagation characteristics of various electrostatic plasma waves are reviewed here.  相似文献
