The heat conductivity of three-dimensional Yukawa dusty plasma liquids (YDPLs) has been investigated by employing a homogenous nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (HNEMD) technique at a low normalized force field strength (F*). The obtained results for plasma heat conductivity with suitable normalizations are measured over a wide range of various plasma states of the Coulomb coupling (Γ) and screening length (κ) in a canonical ensemble (NVT). The calculations for lattice correlations (Ψ) show that our YDPLs system remains in a nonideal strongly coupled regime for a complete range of Γ. It has been shown that the presented Yukawa system obeys a simple analytical temperature demonstration of λ0 with a normalized Einstein frequency. The employed HNEMD algorithm is found to have a more efficient method than that of different earlier numerical methods and it gives more satisfactory results for lower to intermediate Γ with small system sizes at low F*. The obtained simulation results at nearly equilibrium F* (=?0.002) are in reasonable agreement with different earlier numerical results and with the present reference set of data showed deviations within less than ±15% for most of the present data points and generally underpredicted the λ0 by 2–22%, depending on (Γ, κ).  相似文献

A strongly coupled Yukawa liquid is a system of charged particles which interact via a screened Coulomb interaction and in which the electrostatic energy between neighboring particles is larger than their thermal energy but not large enough for crystallization. Various plasma systems including ultracold neutral plasmas and complex (dusty) plasmas can exist in this strongly coupled liquid phase. Here we investigate instabilities driven by the relative streaming of plasma components in three‐dimensional Yukawa liquids with a focus on complex plasmas. This includes a dust acoustic instability driven by weakly coupled ions streaming through the dust liquid, and a dust‐dust instability driven by the counter‐streaming of strongly coupled dust grains. Compared to the Vlasov behavior we find there can be a substantial modification of the unstable wavenumber spectrum due to strong coupling effects (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A two-dimensional Yukawa liquid is studied using two different nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation methods. Shear viscosity values in the limit of small shear rates are reported for a wide range of Coulomb coupling parameter and screening lengths. At high shear rates it is demonstrated that this liquid exhibits shear thinning; i.e., the viscosity eta diminishes with increasing shear rate. It is expected that two-dimensional dusty plasmas will exhibit this effect.  相似文献

The conductivity and diffusion of a color-charged two-dimensional thermostatted Lorentz gas in a color field is studied by a variety of methods. In this gas, point particles move through a regular triangular array of soft scatterers, where, in the presence of a field, a nonequilibrium stationary state is reached by coupling to a Gaussian thermostat. The zero-field conductivity and diffusion coefficient are computed with equilibrium molecular dynamics dynamics from the Green-Kubo formula and the Einstein relation. Their values are consistent and approach those obtained by Machta and Zwanzig in the limit of hard (disk) scatterers. The field-dependent conductivity is obtained from its constitutive relation, from the coupling constant to the thermostat, and by using the recently derived conjugate pairing rule of Evans, Cohen, and Morriss, from the two maximal Lyapunov exponents of the Lorentz gas in the stationary state. All these methods give consistent results. Finally, elements of the field-dependent diffusion tensor have been computed. At zero field, they are consistent with the zero-field conductivity, but they vanish beyond a critical field strength, suggesting a dynamical phase transition at the critical field; the conductivity appears to remain finite, approaching a constant value for large field strengths.  相似文献

Yukawa potentials are often used as effective potentials for systems such as colloids, plasmas, etc. When the Debye screening length is large, the Yukawa potential tends to the non-screened Coulomb potential; in this small screening limit, or Coulomb limit, the potential is long-ranged. As is well known in computer simulation, a simple truncation of the long-ranged potential and the minimum image convention are insufficient to obtain accurate numerical data on systems. The Ewald method for bulk systems, i.e. with periodic boundary conditions in all three directions of space, has already been derived for the Yukawa potential [Molec. Phys. 88, 1357 (1996); J. Chem. Phys. 113, 10459 (2000)], but for systems with partial periodic boundary conditions, the Ewald sums have only recently been obtained [J. Chem. Phys. 126, 056101 (2007)]. In this paper, we provide a closed derivation of the Ewald sums for Yukawa potentials in systems with periodic boundary conditions in only two directions and for any value of the Debye length. Special attention is paid to the Coulomb limit and its relation to the electroneutrality of systems.  相似文献

An integral equation approach is developed to investigate phase coexistence properties of Ising spin fluids with Yukawa ferromagnetic and Lennard-Jones nonmagnetic interactions in the presence of an external field. The calculations are carried out on the basis of the Duh and Henderson closure with a specific Duh-like partitioning of the total potential. The coupled set of the Ornstein-Zernike equation, the closure relation and the external field constraint are solved using an efficient numerical algorithm. The phase diagrams are evaluated in a wide range of varying the external field and the ratio of strengths of Yukawa to Lennard-Jones interactions. Different types of the phase diagram topology as well as various external field dependencies of critical temperatures and densities are identified. The complexity with respect to simple Lennard-Jones fluids is explained by coupling between spatial and spin degrees of freedom in the system. A comparison of the obtained theoretical results with simulation data is made and a good agreement is observed.  相似文献

The shear viscosity of a two-dimensional (2D) liquid was calculated using molecular dynamics simulations with a Yukawa potential. The viscosity has a minimum at a Coulomb coupling parameter Gamma of about 17, arising from the temperature dependence of the kinetic and potential contributions. Previous calculations of 2D viscosity were less extensive as well as for a different potential. The stress autocorrelation function was found to decay rapidly, contrary to earlier work. These results are useful for 2D condensed matter systems and are compared to a dusty plasma experiment.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity of complex fluid materials(dusty plasmas) has been explored through novel Evan-Gillan homogeneous non-equilibrium molecular dynamic(HNEMD) algorithm. The thermal conductivity coefficient obtained from HNEMD is dependent on various plasma parameters(Γ, κ). The proposed algorithm gives accurate results with fast convergence and small size effect over a wide range of plasma parameters. The cross microscopic heat energy current is discussed in association with variation of temperature(1/Γ) and external perturbations(P_z). The thermal conductivity obtained from HNEMD simulations is found to be very good agreement and more reliable than previously known numerical techniques of equilibrium molecular dynamic, nonequilibrium molecular dynamic simulations. Our new investigations point to an effective conclusion that the thermal conductivity of complex dusty plasmas is dependent on an extensive range of plasma coupling(Γ) and screening parameter(κ) and it varies by the alteration in these parameters. It is also shown that a different approach is used for computations of thermal conductivity in 2D complex plasmas and can be appropriate method for behaviors of complex systems.  相似文献

The interaction energy is studied for the coupling of axial torsion fields with photons in the presence of an external electromagnetic field. To this end, we compute the static quantum potential. Our discussion is carried out using the gauge-invariant but path-dependent variables formalism, which is alternative to the Wilson loop approach. Our results show that the static potential is a Yukawa correction to the usual static Coulomb potential. Interestingly, when this calculation is done by considering a mass term for the gauge field, the Coulombic piece disappears leading to a screening phase.  相似文献

The recently discovered multiple series of shape resonances and near-zero-energy enhancements in photoionization cross section of hydrogen-like atomic systems with screened Coulomb (Yukawa type) interaction [Phys. Rev. A 80, 063404 (2009)] are studied in detail, in particular their evolution with the variation of the screening strength of the potential. The conditions for appearance of these multiple series of cross section features are identified and related to certain critical screening strengths of the potential. A relation between the appearance of Cooper minima and shape resonaces in the photoionizations cross section has been established. It is also shown that the s-channel of np photoionization for a fixed photoelectron energy exhibits Ramsauer-Townsend minima in the screening length variable.  相似文献

The screening effects due to the exponential-cosine-screened Coulomb and screened Coulomb (Yukawa) potentials on photoionization processes are explored within the framework of complex coordinate rotation method. The energy levels of H and He+ in both screened potentials shifted with various Debye screening lengths are presented. The photoionization cross sections illustrate the considerable screening effects on photoionization processes in low energy region. The shape resonances can be found near ionization thresholds for certain of Debye screening lengths. The relations between the appearance of resonances and the existence of quasi-bound states under shielding conditions are discussed.  相似文献

The approximate analytical solutions of the D-dimensional space of the Schrӧdinger equation is studied with a newly proposed potential model. The proposed potential is a combination of Coulomb potential and inverse trigonometry scarf-type potential. The energy equation and the corresponding wave function are obtained using parametric Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The energy equations for Coulomb potential and inverse trigonometry scarf-type potential are respectively obtained by changing the numerical values of the potential strengths. It is found that the results obtained are equivalent to that previously obtained for Hellmann potential which is a combination of Coulomb potential and Yukawa potential. It is also found that the results for inverse trigonometry scarf potential are equivalent to the results previously obtained for Yukawa potential. Also, the Onicescus information energy of a system under the influence of the newly proposed potential is investigated in detail.  相似文献

The energy loss of a heavy ion moving in a magnetized strongly coupled electron plasma is considered within the linear response treatment and in high‐velocity regime. The analytical expressions for the stopping power have been found for the arbitrary ion incidence angle. The obtained general expression for the stopping power is analyzed for the ion which moves parallel or perpendicular to the magnetic field. It is found that in general the magnetic field and the Coulomb coupling reduce the stopping power as well as the dynamical screening length at high velocities. The influence of the magnetic field and the Coulomb coupling on the high‐velocity stopping power is discussed. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Approximate analytic expressions for calculating the electron density in both steady and unsteady plasmas produced by pulsed electron beams are derived and proved to agree well with numerical calculations. It is shown that the algorithm for calculating the parameters of a nonequilibrium plasma in the channel of an MHD plasma generator depends on the type of generator. The effect of the magnetic field strength on the electron density and electric conductivity of the air plasma produced by an electron beam in the channel of a Faraday MHD generator is investigated. The influence of the parameters of the flow and ionizer on the efficiency of an MHD generator with a nonequilibrium conductivity is analyzed.  相似文献

The variational method in a reformulated Hamiltonian formalism of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is used to derive relativistic n-body wave equations for scalar particles (bosons) interacting via a massive or massless mediating scalar field (the scalar Yukawa model). Simple Fock-space variational trial states are used to derive relativistic n-body wave equations. The equations are shown to have the Schrödinger non-relativistic limits, with Coulombic interparticle potentials in the case of a massless mediating field and Yukawa interparticle potentials in the case of a massive mediating field. Some examples of approximate ground state solutions of the n-body relativistic equations are obtained for various strengths of coupling, for both massive and massless mediating fields.  相似文献

Thermal conductivity of metallic zigzag carbon nanotube is investigated in the context of Holstein model. Green's function approach is implemented to calculate the electronic contribution of thermal conductivity as a function of radius of carbon nanotube, temperature and electron phonon coupling strength. Our results show that electronic thermal conductivity increases as a function of temperature at low temperature and gets a maximum value then decays at high temperature. Also the effect of radius of both metallic and semiconductor zigzag carbon nanotube on the thermal conductivity is studied. Our results show thermal conductivity increases when CNT diameter increases and decreases with electron phonon interaction strength.  相似文献

The thermal angular motion of a classical linear rotator in an octahedral field with eight wells is studied both analytically and numerically. The strength of the coupling with the thermal bath is introduced. It is shown that in the deep-well case, for a coupling of intermediate strength, the ‘nex-twell-jump’ hypothesis is fulfilled and an absolute value can be calculated for the long-time exponential decay of the angular time correlation functions. The short-time behaviour of these functions reflects damped librations in the wells. The numerical simulation employs random torque impulses to represent the coupling with the thermal bath. For different values of the two parameters of the model (depth of the wells V and mean interval τ i between torque impulses), the complete correlation functions and the corresponding spectra are computed. The results are compared with experimental data bearing on matrix-isolated molecules, ‘plastic crystals’ and liquids.  相似文献

Photoluminescence spectra from highly excited germanium at 25–30 K are presented. The density of free electrons and holes is determined from induced free carrier absorption and achieved values up to 1017 cm-3. At such densities the electron-hole system is pumped to well above the screening ionization limit of excitons. The band-to-band luminescence. however, is strongly Coulomb enhanced. The spectral shape of the measured luminescence fits well with calculations based on a Yukawa interaction potential.  相似文献

We have carried out million‐particle equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations of 3‐dimensional Yukawa liquids in order to determine the shear viscosity coefficient. The computations have been executed on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) architectures with our largely parallelized code. The results cover the strongly coupled liquid phase, with Γ up to the vicinity of the freezing transition, for the 1 ≤ κ ≤ 3 domain of the screening parameter of the Yukawa potential. The good agreement of the present results with those obtained from earlier simulations of significantly smaller systems (consisting of several hundred to several thousand particles) verifies that the viscosity data derived in these smaller scale simulations are also acceptable (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
