Formation of pyrrolinium derivatives in the bromination reaction of <Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis>,<Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis>-dipropargyl ammonium salts

Bromination of ammonium salts containing two propargyl groups afforded bromine-substituted derivatives of pyrrolinium salts. The reactions of piperidinium and morpholinium analogs resulted in spirocyclic ammonium salts.     

Synthesis and properties of symmetrical <Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis>,<Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis>'-Bis(R-adamantan-1-yl)ureas as target-oriented soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) inhibitors

Self-condensation of substituted adamantan-1-yl isocyanates in THF in the presence of DBU afforded 91–96% of symmetrical ureas as target-oriented soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) inhibitors. The described reaction avoids the use of the corresponding amine as counterpart. The obtained ureas are characterized by reduced melting points and improved solubility in water.     

Reaction of Azidocarboxyethyl Alginic Acid with <Emphasis Type=Italic>N</Emphasis>-Nucleophiles

The acylating ability of azidocarboxyethyl alginic acid in reactions with benzylamine, aromatic amines, and carboxylic acid hydrazides has been studied.     

Synthesis and characterization of <Emphasis Type=Italic>S,N</Emphasis>-heteroacenes by Bischler-Napieralski reaction

Bischler-Napieralski cyclization has been successfully employed to prepare planar S,N-heteroacenes (SNHs) with the analogue structures to 1,10-phenanthroline. The opto-/electrical properties and the packing modes of these S,Nheteroacenes were examined, which were dependent on the structure of the fused groups. SNH-based copolymers with high molecular weight and good solubility in common organic solvents or water have been synthesized by Suzuki-Miyaura- Schlüter polycondensation. The photophysical property studies revealed that the copolymers may be a promising chemosensor material.
