Herein, we introduce the application of nickel hydroxide nanosheets on the electro-etched carbon fiber (ECF) formed via a direct electrodeposition, for fabrication of asymmetric supercapacitor. To confirm the practical applicability of prepared Ni(OH)2–ECF, an asymmetric device was assembled using Ni(OH)2–ECF in combination with an activated carbon (AC) electrode. Our results showed a substantial cycling stability (96% capacitance retention after 10000 cycles) and considerable rate capability at large discharge currents (60% capacitance retention at 8 A g??1) for this asymmetric supercapacitor that may have originated from the good contact between Ni(OH)2 and ECF. A maximum specific capacitance of 88.1 F g??1 was achieved for Ni(OH)2–ECF//AC/CF device and showed considerable rate capability at large discharge currents (60% capacitance retention at 8 A g??1). The results of this study suggest the Ni(OH)2–ECF electrode is an excellent material for fabrication of supercapacitor electrodes.  相似文献

Two kinds of electrode materials Ni(OH)2 and Ni(OH)2@Zn(OH)2 composite are fabricated on nickel foam. Electrochemical experiments indicate Ni(OH)2@Zn(OH)2 composite deserves further study due to high specific capacitance and good cycle stability, so that it can achieve energy storage and conversion as much as possible. When the hydrothermal time is different, the electrochemical performance of the sample is also different. Accurately, samples can obtain better electrochemical performance at 15 h, and the maximum specific capacitance of Ni(OH)2@Zn(OH)2 is 7.87 F cm?2 compared to Ni(OH)2 (0.61 F cm?2) at 5 mA cm?2. Even at 50 mA cm?2, specific capacitance is 5.24 F cm?2 and rate capability is 66.6%. Furthermore, Ni(OH)2@Zn(OH)2-15 h loses 19.8% after 1000 cycles, revealing the composite has an outstanding stable cycle. These properties also indicate Ni(OH)2@Zn(OH)2-15 h is a promising electrode material.  相似文献

Three-dimensional Ni(OH)2 nanoflakes were prepared via a facile and cost-effective electrodeposition method using commercial activated carbon (AC) as substrate. Nitric acid treatment (NT) and partial crystallization (PC) by metal nickel catalysis were applied for AC. The effects of the oxygen-containing functional groups and the degree of crystallization on the electrochemical performance of the electrode were investigated. The resulting Ni(OH)2/PC–NT–AC/nickel foam electrode exhibits distinct performance with a specific capacitance of 2971 F/g (scaled to the mass of active Ni(OH)2) at a current density of 6 A/g. A high capacitance of 1919 F/g was still achieved even at 40 A/g, which is much higher than Ni(OH)2/AC/nickel foam electrode and Ni(OH)2/NT–AC/nickel foam electrode. The excellent performance of Ni(OH)2/PC–NT–AC/nickel foam electrode can be attributed to the presence of large surface area and highly conductive PC–NT–AC network on nickel foam. This study presents an effective method to improve the dispersion and rate capability of Ni(OH)2 nanostructure electrodes.  相似文献

MnMoO4 nanotubes of diameter about 120 nm were successfully synthesized by a single-spinneret electrospinning technique followed by calcination in air, and their structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties were studied with the aim to fabricate high-performance supercapacitor devices. The obtained MnMoO4 nanotubes display a 1D architecture with a porous structure and hollow interiors. Benefiting from intriguing structural features, the unique MnMoO4 nanotube electrodes exhibit a high specific capacitance, excellent rate capability, and cycling stability. As an example, the tube-like MnMoO4 delivers a specific capacitance of 620 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1, and 460 F g?1 even at a very high current density of 60 A g?1. Remarkably, almost no decay in specific capacitance is found after continuous charge/discharge cycling for 10,000 cycles at 1 A g?1. An asymmetric supercapacitor fabricated from this MnMoO4 nanotubes and activated carbon displayed a maximum high energy density of 31.7 Wh kg?1 and a power density of 797 W kg?1, demonstrating a good prospect for practical applications in energy storage electronics.  相似文献

Porous network-like MnO2 thick films are successfully synthesized on a flexible stainless steel (SS) mesh using a simple and low-cost electrodeposition method followed by an electrochemical activation process. Morphology, chemical composition, and crystal structure of the prepared electrodes before and after the activation process are determined and compared by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. The results show that the implementation of the electrochemical activation process does not change the chemical composition and crystal structure of the films, but it influences the surface morphology of the MnO2 thick layer to a flaky nanostructure. Based on the electrochemical data analysis, the maximum specific capacitance of 1400 mF (381 F g?1) and 3700 mF (352 F g?1) are measured for small (2.6 cm2) and large (10 cm2) surface area electrodes, respectively. In addition, a flexible symmetric MnO2//MnO2 solid-state supercapacitor shows a capacitance of 0.3 F with about 98% retention at different bending angles from 0 to 360°.  相似文献

Self-supported and binder-free electrodes based on homogeneous Co3O4/TiO2 nanotube arrays enhanced by carbon layer and oxygen vacancies (Co3O4/co-modified TiO2 nanotube arrays (m-TNAs)) are prepared via a simple and cost-effective method in this paper. The highly ordered TNAs offer direct pathways for electron and ion transport and can be used as 3D substrate for the decoration of electroactive materials without any binders. Then, by a facile one-step calcination process, the electrochemical performance of the as-obtained carbon layer and oxygen vacancy m-TNAs is approximately 83 times higher than that of pristine TNAs. In addition, Co3O4 nanoparticles are uniformly deposited onto the m-TNAs by a universal chemical bath deposition (CBD) process to further improve the supercapacitive performance. Due to the synergistic effect of m-TNAs and Co3O4 nanoparticles, a maximum specific capacitance of 662.7 F g?1 can be achieved, which is much higher than that of Co3O4 decorated on pristine TNAs (Co3O4/TNAs; 166.2 F g?1). Furthermore, the specific capacitance retains 86.0 % of the initial capacitance after 4000 cycles under a high current density of 10 A g?1, revealing the excellent long-term electrochemical cycling stability of Co3O4/m-TNAs. Thus, this kind of heterostructured Co3O4/m-TNAs could be considered as promising candidates for high-performance supercapacitor electrodes.  相似文献

In this study, to improve the specific capacitance of graphene-based supercapacitor, novel quadri composite of G/PPy/MnOx/Cu(OH)2 was synthesized by using a facile and inexpensive route. First, a two-step method consisting of thermal decomposition and in situ oxidative polymerization was employed to fabricate graphene/polypyrrole/manganese oxide composites. Second, Cu(OH)2 nanowires were deposited on Cu foil. Afterwards, for the electrochemical measurements, composite powders were deposited on Cu(OH)2/Cu foil substrate as working electrodes. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The XRD analysis revealed the formation of PPy/graphene, Mn3O4/graphene, and graphene/polypyrrole/MnOx. In addition, the presence of polypyrrole and manganese oxides was confirmed using FT-IR and Raman spectroscopies. Graphene/polypyrrole/MnOx/Cu(OH)2 electrode showed the best electrochemical performance and exhibited the largest specific capacitance of approximately 370 F/g at the scan rate of 10 mV/s in 6 M KOH electrolyte. In addition, other electrochemical measurements (charge–discharge, EIS and cyclical performance) of the G/Cu(OH)2, G/PPy/Cu(OH)2, G/Mn3O4/Cu(OH)2, and G/PPy/MnOx/Cu(OH)2 electrodes suggested that the G/PPy/MnOx/Cu(OH)2 composite electrode is promising materials for supercapacitor application.  相似文献

There is a growing need for the electrode with high mass loading of active materials, where both high energy and high power densities are required, in current and near-future applications of supercapacitor. Here, an ultrathin Co3S4 nanosheet decorated electrode (denoted as Co3S4/NF) with mass loading of 6 mg cm?2 is successfully fabricated by using highly dispersive Co3O4 nanowires on Ni foam (NF) as template. The nanosheets contained lots of about 3~5 nm micropores benefiting for the electrochemical reaction and assembled into a three-dimensional, honeycomb-like network with 0.5~1 μm mesopore structure for promoting specific surface area of electrode. The improved electrochemical performance was achieved, including an excellent cycliability of 10,000 cycles at 10 A g?1 and large specific capacitances of 2415 and 1152 F g?1 at 1 and 20 A g?1, respectively. Impressively, the asymmetric supercapacitor assembled with the activated carbon (AC) and Co3S4/NF electrode exhibits a high energy density of 79 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 151 W kg?1, a high power density of 3000 W kg?1 at energy density of 30 Wh kg?1 and 73 % retention of the initial capacitance after 10,000 charge-discharge cycles at 2 A g?1. More importantly, the formation process of the ultrathin Co3S4 nanosheets upon reaction time is investigated, which is benefited from the gradual infiltration of sulfide ions and the template function of ultrafine Co3O4 nanowires in the anion-exchange reaction.
Graphical abstract The ultrathin 2D Co3S4 nanosheets fabricated on 3D Ni foam and the formation process of the ultrathin Co3S4 nanosheets upon reaction times has been investigated. At the same time, the Co3S4/NF electrode displays an outstanding specific capacitance of 2420 F g?1 at 1 A g?1 with high mass loading of 6 mg cm?2.

Coralloid and hierarchical Co3O4 nanostructures were synthesized by a facile two-step approach composed of room temperature solution-phase synthesis without any surfactant and calcination of precursor. Owing to the unique structural features, the capacitance of Co3O4 could reach up to 591 F g?1 at a current density of 0.5 A g?1. Especially the cycling stability remained about 97 % after 2000 cycles at a current density of 1 A g?1. These results demonstrated that the coralloid and hierarchical Co3O4 were excellent candidates for electrochemical supercapacitor devices.  相似文献

Li4Ti5O12/Li2TiO3 composite nanofibers with the mean diameter of ca. 60 nm have been synthesized via facile electrospinning. When the molar ratio of Li to Ti is 4.8:5, the Li4Ti5O12/Li2TiO3 composite nanofibers exhibit initial discharge capacity of 216.07 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C, rate capability of 151 mAh g?1 after being cycled at 20 C, and cycling stability of 122.93 mAh g?1 after 1000 cycles at 20 C. Compared with pure Li4Ti5O12 nanofibers and Li2TiO3 nanofibers, Li4Ti5O12/Li2TiO3 composite nanofibers show better performance when used as anode materials for lithium ion batteries. The enhanced electrochemical performances are explained by the incorporation of appropriate Li2TiO3 which could strengthen the structure stability of the hosted materials and has fast Li+-conductor characteristics, and the nanostructure of nanofibers which could offer high specific area between the active materials and electrolyte and shorten diffusion paths for ionic transport and electronic conduction. Our new findings provide an effective synthetic way to produce high-performance Li4Ti5O12 anodes for lithium rechargeable batteries.  相似文献

The large internal surface areas and outstanding electrical and mechanical properties of graphene have prompted to blend graphene with NiCo2O4 to fabricate nanostructured NiCo2O4/graphene composites for supercapacitor applications. The use of graphene as blending with NiCo2O4 enhances the specific capacitance and rate capability and improves the cyclic performance when compared to the pristine NiCo2O4 material. Here, we synthesized two different nanostructured morphologies of NiCo2O4 on graphene sheets by solvothermal method. It has been suggested that the morphologies of oxides are greatly influenced by dielectric constant, thermal conductivity, and viscosity of solvents employed during the synthesis. In order to test this concept, we have synthesized nanostructured NiCo2O4 on graphene sheets by facile solvothermal method using N-methyl pyrrolidone and N,N-dimethylformamide solvents with water. We find that mixture of N-methyl pyrrolidone and water solvent favored the formation of nanonet-like NiCo2O4/graphene (NiCoO-net) whereas mixture of N,N-dimethylformamide and water solvent produced microsphere-like NiCo2O4/graphene (NiCoO-sphere). Electrochemical pseudocapacitance behavior of the two NiCo2O4/graphene electrode materials was studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The supercapacitance measurements on NiCoO-net and NiCoO-sphere electrodes showed specific capacitance values of 1060 and 855 F g?1, respectively, at the current density of 1.5 A g?1. The capacitance retention of NiCoO-net electrode is 93 % while that of NiCoO-sphere electrode is 77 % after long-term 5000 charge-discharge cycles at high current density of 10 A g?1.  相似文献

In this study, NiS2 nanocubes were successfully synthesized by a novel facile solvothermal method using NiC2O4·2H2O microstructures and used as an electrode for high-performance supercapacitors. The electrochemical properties of the prepared NiS2 electrode were studied using galvanostatic charge–discharge analysis, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) studies. Its maximum specific capacitance was 2077 F g?1 at a constant current density of about 0.65 A g?1. Further, the EIS results confirmed the pseudocapacitive nature of the NiS2 electrode. The experimental results suggested that the NiS2 electro-active material demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance with high specific capacitance, low resistance, and excellent cycling stability.  相似文献

In this work, stabilized Al-substituted α-Ni(OH)2 materials were successfully synthesized by a chemical coprecipitation method. The experimental results showed that the 7.5% Al-substituted α-Ni(OH)2 materials exhibited high specific capacitance (2.08?×?103 F/g) and excellent rate capability due to the high stability of Al-substituted α-Ni(OH)2 structures in alkaline media, suggesting its potential application in electrode material for supercapacitors. To enhance energy density, an asymmetric type pseudo/electric double-layer capacitor was considered where α-Ni(OH)2 materials and activated carbon act as the positive and negative electrodes, respectively. Values for the maximum specific capacitance of 127 F/g and specific energy of 42 W·h/kg were demonstrated for a cell voltage between 0.4 and 1.6 V. By using the α-Ni(OH)2 electrode, the asymmetric supercapacitor exhibited high energy density and stable power characteristics. The hybrid supercapacitor also exhibited a good electrochemical stability with 82% of the initial capacitance over consecutive 1,000 cycle numbers.  相似文献

Co2(OH)3Cl xerogel interconnected mesoporous structures have been prepared by a facile one pot sol-gel process and heat treated at 200 and 400 °C. All samples are studied for their morphology, structure, and electrochemical stability upon cycling. The specific capacitance of the as-prepared Co2(OH)3Cl from single electrode study is 450 F/g, when the electrodes are cycled in 3 M KOH at a specific current 2 A/g. Interestingly, capacity retention after 500 and 1000 cycles is about 92 and 75 %, respectively. Sample heated at 200 °C exhibits 308 F/g at 2 A/g and that heated at 400 °C shows only 32 F/g at 0.2 A/g. With an increase in preparation temperature, amorphous Co2(OH)3Cl is converted to crystalline Co3O4 phases with lower electrochemical performance. In full cell study, as-prepared Co2(OH)3Cl showed a capacity of about 49 F/g as asymmetric capacitor and 32 F/g as symmetric capacitor at 2 A/g current density. Co2(OH)3Cl being a novel porous material with merits of homogeneous porosity, high surface area, and an interconnected three dimensional (3D) structure exhibits considerably high capacitance. With a significant specific capacity and electrochemical stability, the synthesized material is a novel potential candidate for supercapacitors.

Na2Ti3O7 ceramic materials have been widely used in sodium-ion battery applications with relative good results; however, there are still several studies that might be carried out in the improvement of the Na2Ti3O7 properties and the overall batteries’ performance. In this direction, we used sonochemical method following a thermal treatment in order to synthetized pure phase Na2Ti3O7 nanopowders. X-ray diffraction characterization revealed that Na2Ti3O7 is the primary phase in nanopowders and ceramic sample; although, a high level of amorphization was observed in the sonicated nanopowder without heat treatment process. Nanopowder-prepared ceramic sample showed a crystallite size of 50 nm after sintering at 900 °C for 1 h. The specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size were obtained from the B.E.T. measurements, being 51 m2 g?1, 0.07 cm3 g?1, and 55 Å, respectively. The capacitance values of the nanopowder-prepared ceramic sample were in the order of microfarad. The total energy of the system was used to determine relaxation time of the sample (τ 0 = 31 ms).  相似文献

Neodymium(III) peroxotitanate is used as a precursor for obtaining Nd2TiO5. The last one possesses numerous valuable electrophysical properties. TiCl4, Nd(NO3)3·6H2O and H2O2 in mol ratio 1:2:10 were used as starting materials. The reaction ambience was alkalized to pH = 9 with a solution of NH3. The obtained neodymium(III) peroxotitanate and intermediate compounds of the isothermal heating were proved by the help of quantitative analysis and infrared spectroscopy (IRS). It has Nd4[Ti2(O2)4(OH)12]·7H2O composition. The absorption band observed in IRS at 831 cm?1 relates to a triangular bonding of the peroxo group of Ti, at 1062 cm?1—terminal groups Ti–OH and at 1491 and 1384 cm?1—the bridging OH?-groups Ti–O(H)–Ti. Nd2TiO5 was obtained by thermal decomposition of neodymium(III) peroxotitanate. The isothermal conditions for decomposition were determined on the base of differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetry results in the temperature range of 20–1000 °C. The mechanism of thermal decomposition of Nd4[Ti2(O2)4(OH)12]·7H2O to Nd2TiO5 was studied. In the temperature range of 20–208 °C, a simultaneous decomposition of the peroxo groups by the separation of oxygen and hydrate water is conducted and Nd4[Ti2O4(OH)12] is obtained. From 208 to 390 °C, the terminal OH?-groups are separated and Nd4[Ti2O7(OH)6] is formed. In the range of 390–824 °C, the bridging OH?-groups are completely decomposed to Nd2TiO5. The optimal conditions for obtaining nanocrystalline Nd2TiO5 are 900 °C for 6 h and 20–80 nm.  相似文献

Mn3O4 and Mn3O4 (140)/CNTs have been investigated as high-capacity anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) applications. Nanoparticle Mn3O4 samples were synthesized by hydrothermal method using Mn(Ac)2 and NH3·H2O as the raw materials and characterized by XRD, TG, EA, TEM, and SEM. Its electrochemical performances, as anode materials, were evaluated by galvanostatic discharge-charge tests. The Mn3O4 (140)/CNTs displays outstanding electrochemical performances, such as high initial capacity (1942 mAh g?1), stable cycling performance (1088 mAh g?1 and coulombic efficiency remain at 97% after 60 cycles) and great rate performance (recover 823 mAh g?1 when return to initial current density after 44 cycles). Compared to pure Mn3O4 (140), the improving electrochemical performances can be attributed to the existence of very conductive CNTs. The Mn3O4 (140)/CNTs with excellent electrochemical properties might find applications as highly effective materials in electromagnetism, catalysis, microelectronic devices, etc. The process should also offer an effective and facile method to fabricate many other nanosized metallic oxide/CNTs nanocomposites for low-cost, high-capacity, and environmentally benign materials for LIBs.  相似文献

In this study, MoS2 nanosheets were first prepared by exfoliating its bulk material in HCl/LiNO3 solution with a yield of 45%, and then a facile strategy was developed to synthesize polyaniline/MoS2 (PANI/MoS2) nanocomposite via in situ polymerization. Structural and morphological characterizations of MoS2 nanosheets and the nanocomposite were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and X-ray powder diffraction. The results of SEM illustrated that orderly sawtooth polyaniline (PANI) nanoarrays were formed on the surface of MoS2 nanosheets. The nanocomposite displayed good electrochemical performance as a supercapacitor electrode material. The specific capacitance reached 560 F/g at a current density of 1.0 A g?1 in 1.0 M H2SO4 solution. Such good performance is because that the MoS2 nanosheets provided a highly electrolytic accessible surface area for redox-active PANI and a direct path for electrons.  相似文献

This paper reports a simple methodology for the synthesis of a polyaniline/titanium oxide/graphene hybrid (Pani/TiO2/GN) using a simple methodology, and their application as a supercapacitor electrode material for energy storage. The Pani/TiO2/GN hybrid was prepared by a simple approach by simultaneous generation of Pani and TiO2 in situ from aniline and titanium iso-propoxide, respectively, in the presence of GN under ice bath conditions. The incorporation of GN improved the electrical conductivity of Pani and helped to decrease the charge transfer resistance, whereas TiO2 generation by an in situ method increased the surface area considerably and enhanced the capacitance of the Pani/TiO2/GN hybrid. TEM showed that Pani and TiO2 were well incorporated and coated on the GN successfully. The shift of the peaks in the FTIR spectrum and XRD pattern of the Pani/TiO2/GN hybrid compared to their pure counterparts suggested that TiO2 and Pani had been perfectly coated on the GN, and there was a strong interaction among Pani, GN, and TiO2 particles. The electrochemical performance of the as-prepared Pani/TiO2/GN hybrid electrode showed a high specific capacitance of 403.2 F g?1 at a current density of 2 A g?1 and excellent cycling stability for up to 1000 cycles. This suggested that the effective incorporation of GN and TiO2 into Pani and the high surface area could simultaneously increase the electrochemical capacitance and cyclic stability of the Pani/TiO2/GN hybrid, leading to superior electrochemical performance.

Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 (NCM 111) is a promising alternative to LiCoO2, as it is less expensive, more structurally stable, and has better safety characteristics. However, its capacity of 155 mAh g?1 is quite low, and cycling at potentials above 4.5 V leads to rapid capacity deterioration. Here, we report a successful synthesis of lithium-rich layered oxides (LLOs) with a core of LiMO2 (R-3m, M?=?Ni, Co) and a shell of Li2MnO3 (C2/m) (the molar ratio of Ni, Co to Mn is the same as that in NCM 111). The core–shell structure of these LLOs was confirmed by XRD, TEM, and XPS. The Rietveld refinement data showed that these LLOs possess less Li+/Ni2+ cation disorder and stronger M*–O (M*?=?Mn, Co, Ni) bonds than NCM 111. The core–shell material Li1.15Na0.5(Ni1/3Co1/3)core(Mn1/3)shellO2 can be cycled to a high upper cutoff potential of 4.7 V, delivers a high discharge capacity of 218 mAh g?1 at 20 mA g?1, and retains 90 % of its discharge capacity at 100 mA g?1 after 90 cycles; thus, the use of this material in lithium ion batteries could substantially increase their energy density.
