The characteristic features of the polarization and depolarization kinetics of polydomain ferroelectrics with square and narrow “extended” dielectric hysteresis loops are investigated for the model of TGS and Rb2ZnCl4 crystals. It is shown that for the second crystal, in contrast to the first crystal, the local free energy is asymmetric relative to the direction of polarization, the coercive field does not have a definite value, and only part of the crystal volume participates in the slow thermoactivational relaxation. The slow relaxation follows a universal empirical power law in all cases. The distribution functions of the relaxation times in crystals are constructed on the basis of experimental data, and comparative estimates are made of the relaxation parameters and the parameters of the energy barriers for domain walls. The long-time behavior of the Lorentz electron gas is studied in the presence of a uniform external field. A discussion of the rigorous solution of the one-dimensional Boltzmann equation is followed by the derivation of the asymptotic form of the velocity distribution in an arbitrary number of dimensions. We study theoretically the conformation and force-extension curve of a semiflexible polymer in a spatially uniform ac electric field. The polymer backbone minimizes its energy by aligning along one of two orientations parallel to the field. In a strong ac field, hairpin kinks develop between regions of opposite alignment. These kinks are mathematically described as sine-Gordon solitons. We calculate the equation of state of the one-dimensional kink gas, which yields the force-extension curve of the polymer. A sufficiently strong ac field causes the polymer to extend spontaneously to almost its full contour length. The theory is applied to recent experiments on dielectrophoretic stretching of DNA.  相似文献

The variation of the shape of a drop immersed in an immiscible liquid under the action of an electric field is calculated. The charge is transferred both by ohmic current through the interface and by the convective component over the interface. A solution quadratic in the parameter that is the ratio of the electric pressure to the capillary pressure is analyzed. Conditions where the drop transforms into a spheroid that is prolate or oblate along the electric field vector are found. An experimental study of the drop deformation by electric forces is carried out.  相似文献

We extend the analysis of Paper I from two body dilation analytic systems in constant electric field toN-body systems in constant electric field. Particular attention is paid to what happens to isolated eigenvalues of an atomic or molecular system in zero field when the field is turned on. We prove that the corresponding eigenvalue of the complex scaled Hamiltonian is stable and becomes a resonance. The resolvent of the operatorH 0(ε, θ)=?Δe -20x 1 e θ is not analytic in θ for θ in a neighborhood of a real point, if the electric field ε is non-zero. The electric properties of ceramic barium titanate stannate modified with chromium oxide are examined via impedance spectroscopy at frequencies ranging from 100 Hz to 1 MHz and in the temperature interval of 300–550 K. In order to reveal specific electrophysical features of polycrystalline samples that contain crystallites (interior regions of grains) and grain boundaries, a constant electric field that facilitates the accumulation of spatial charge near structural inhomogeneities is applied to the electrodes. The experimental results are interpreted using the Maxwell–Wagner double-layer capacitor model and the Schottky barrier model.  相似文献

The complex permittivity of ferroelectric PZT ceramics with different compositions was measured in a pulsed rapid-growing electric field. The time dependence of the real component exhibits three peaks. The dips between them correlate with imaginary component peaks. Domain mechanisms that contribute to the ferroelectric polarization and are responsible for the time dependences are considered.  相似文献

The probability of 5s-3d, 5s-3p, 5p-3s, 5d-3s, 4d-3p, and 4f-3p transitions of Ne I in an electric field is calculated. It is shown that the probability of the permitted transitions 5s-3p and 5p-3s is unchanged with increase in the field from 0 to 50 kV/cm, while the probability of the forbidden transitions 5s-3d and 5d-3s is very small. In the given range of field strengths, the probability of permitted 4d-3p transitions markedly falls and intense forbidden 4f-3p transitions appear. The problem of the shift and broadening of the electron energy levels in the field of two 3D short-range potentials (e.g., the model of a negative molecular ion) by a constant electric field F is considered. The interaction of an electron with attraction centers is taken into account in the effective range approximation. We analyze the cases when both centers maintain weakly bound s states and when the electron state in the field of one of the centers is a p state. Exact numerical results for the shift and the width of the energy levels of a quasi-molecule as functions of field F, distance R between atomic centers, and the orientation of the quasi-molecule axis relative to vector F are presented, as well as the results of analytic treatment for a number of limiting cases. The exact values of complex energies of the quasi-molecule are compared with analytic results for a weak field in the case of identical s centers [26], as well as nonequivalent s centers and s-p centers; the applicability boundaries of the weak field approximation are established. It is shown that for large values of R, the position and width of the levels in a strong field are correctly described in perturbation theory in the exchange interaction. We analyze the field-induced quasi-intersection of molecular energy levels of the system with nonequivalent atomic centers and peculiarities in the energy level widths associated with this intersection. The results make it possible to qualitatively interpret the results of numerical calculations of the probability of homo- and heteronuclear molecules being ionized by a low-frequency laser field.  相似文献
