The Gibbs dividing surface method is used to derive the differential equation defining the dependence of the surface tension of a bubble in a nonpolar single-component liquid on its radius. Exact and asymptotic solutions of this equation have been obtained. It follows from the calculations that the bubble surface tension increases with decreasing radius. The Rayleigh-Plesset equation describing the bubble collapse dynamics is solved numerically by taking into account the size dependence of surface tension. The size dependence of surface tension is shown to affect significantly the final bubble collapse stage and, on the whole, accelerates this process. 相似文献

The persistence of acoustic cavitation in a pulsed wave ultrasound regime depends upon the ability of cavitation nuclei, i.e., bubbles, to survive the off time between pulses. Due to the dependence of bubble dissolution on surface tension, surface-active agents may affect the stability of bubbles against dissolution. In this study, measurements of bubble dissolution rates in solutions of the surface-active polymer poly(propyl acrylic acid) (PPAA) were conducted to test this premise. The surface activity of PPAA varies with solution pH and concentration of dissolved polymer molecules. The surface tension of PPAA solutions (55-72 dynes/cm) that associated with the polymer surface activity was measured using the Wilhelmy plate technique. Samples of these polymer solutions then were exposed to 1.1 MHz high intensity focused ultrasound, and the dissolution of bubbles created by inertial cavitation was monitored using an active cavitation detection scheme. Analysis of the pulse echo data demonstrated that bubble dissolution time was inversely proportional to the surface tension of the solution. Finally, comparison of the experimental results with dissolution times computed from the Epstein-Plesset equation suggests that the radii of residual bubbles from inertial cavitation increase as the surface tension decreases. 相似文献

基于激光空泡内物质以水蒸气为主的特征,选择特定的Rayleigh-Plesset方程形式,确定激光空泡的动态泡壁位置,并考虑水中气体与激光空泡之间的质量扩散、水蒸气的凝结与蒸发、水的压缩性及热传导、声辐射、黏性、表面张力等因素.建立激光空泡的产生、照相和声压测量系统.通过数值计算与实验结果相结合的办法,使泡内压力的计算值与实验值之间相对误差控制在10%以内,揭示吸收的激光脉冲能量与激光空泡的半径、泡内压力和温度之间的对应关系,以及吸收的激光脉冲能量不变时半径、压力和温度的变化规律.旨在为激光空泡的相关研究提供一定的参考.

The Rayleigh-Plesset equation including the surface tension for the collapse motion of an empty hyper-spherical bubble is considered. Firstly, the collapse time is derived. Secondly, a direct approach based on polynomial function is proposed and employed to construct the analytical solution for this case. It is shown that, when the surface tension is zero, the obtained analytical solution is equivalent to the known one but in a different form. In addition, we also discuss the influences of the relevant physical parameters on the collapse motion. 相似文献
